Simulation and design

Plz, can any one tell me
If there is any program that I can desgin a network with Routers and switches, and make simulation on it to test and see the result
and thanks

Assalam-O-Alikum Anas,
Here is the link to the very best simulation program which is free....

download and run this application. But you will need Cisco IOS for each platform. If you have CCO account with H/W and Software maintenance, then download and copy into relevant directory.
There are loads of technotes and video tutorials you can access from the same site as well as loads of tutorials on Youtube.com
Hope this helps....

  • Control Simulation and Design with DAQmx

    Hi all, thanks in advance for any helpful direction you can provide.
    I was recently setup with Labview 2013 Developer Suite and the Control and Simulation Design add-on and was hoping to get a little nudge in the right direction.
    I have used Labview and the NI DAQmx setup for regular external measurements before but never integrated with the Control and Simulation toolbox. I am trying to use the Control and Simulation Toolbox to model a simple system (to start) in conjunction with the DAQmx setup I have, and am somewhat at a loss.
    For example, I want to use Labview Control and Simulation to simulate a simple integrator (1/s). The input for the integrator is an external analog voltage (from separate electronics) coming in through the DAQmx setup and the output of the integrator is also and external analog voltage going back to the external electronics. In essence, a very simple control loop.
    I have been digging through tutorials and searching for examples, of which there have been many excellent ones. However, I have yet to find an example whereby the control and simulation loop is talking to the outside world through the DAQmx interface. I do not believe the RT module or RT target is necessary for timing as the fastest we are running the loop is around 10Hz. I have found some small examples discussing how the Control and Simulation Toolbox timing can be controlled by the RT target or even the DAQmx but I am still struggling on how to pass data in and out of the loop and how to set the timing parameters. How do you get it to simply run endless, for example.
    Again, thanks for any information or direction you can provide.

    Hey Cabala,
    Based on your description this would be a great starting example.
    https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-11521
    Depending on your hardware you may or may not be able to use hardware timed single point for acquisition but you could set it up for continuous as well and use the same structure of 1 read and 1 rate for each cycle of the loop.
    You can replace proportional gain function with the CD and Sim Loop and place a Integrator function with in that.
    Sorry it appears one of the dependencies for that example is missing so you can't run it off immediately.
    Please let us know if you have any other questions.

  • How to make my waveform in control and design simulation run continuously?

    Hi all, i m a begineer of Labview and have some question to ask.
    I am using the Labview to design and implement a controller for FOPTD system, but i found that the waveform in the "control and simulation loop" is not running continuously. I mean it keep repeat in the same graph from 0 to 10second. Is there any approach to make it run continuously?
    Thankyou very much.

    Well, my suggestion then is to do the following: change final time from Inf back to 10 s (or whatever number that capture the whole simulation) and do a while loop around the Control and Simulation Loop with a "wait until next ms" function to give you time to react and change parameters, like this below. This would make LabVIEW to do the whole simulation, wait for 1000 ms and then, run the simulation again with new parameters. If you need more time, just need to change the constant wired to the "wait until next milisecond".

  • Scripts works in Simulator and Apple DVD player but not on TV

    I have a basic project with two different tracks.
    The first one is video and audio. Plays "as is".
    The second has video, two audio and one subtitle. Depending on which button, the second Track should be played with different audio and with/without subtitles.
    (I use GPRM 1 to set the subs stream, GPRM 2 for the audio and GPRM 3 for menu button navigation).
    On the second Track I have a pre-script that sets the streams depending on the value of GPRM 1 and 2.
    Works fine in Simulator and in Apple DVD player, but not on the stand-alone player.
    Any idea what might be the issue here?
    in short:
    Button 1: Play Track 1 "as is" (audio 1, no subs)
    Button 2: Play Track 2, audio 1, subs on
    Button 3: Play Track 2, audio 2, subs off
    Button 4: Play Track 2, "as is" (audio 1, subs off)
    Menu button and End Jump should go to the corresponding menu button.
    Many thanks for your help.

    It is part personal preference, part artistic, part what makes the user experience the best so there may not be one "right" answer and I have often made menus one way than changed them when viewing the DVD for something that seemed to work better.
    Looking at you description I started playing with some ideas in my head and started typing them, then changed what I was writing
    It sounds like you want chapter selections for both track 1 and track 2? If so it may make sense to have the initial menu have Track 1 and Track 2 buttons which then link to sub menus where there is "Play All," selections for each section of each movie and one last button for the preferences.
    Alternatively you could also place the preferences selection button on the main menu, though since Track 1 does not sound like it really has preferences you need to make sure that users do not become confused and think they have turned something on/off and are not seeing these options when they thought they selected them when they play back Track 1.
    Also with 6 to 8 chapter markers you may be getting close to the point where scripting could make it easier if your selections are just to play the sections - in other words for track 2 four stories take care of the combinations Audio 1/Sub Off, Audio 1 Subs On, Audio 2 Subs Off, Audio 2 Sub On. If the chapter selection starts the track a scene then plays through you can target chapter markers in the story so 4 stories takes care of it. If you are just playing sections you would need 4 x 6 or 8 chapters - 24 or 32 stories roughly. But it is actually fairly quick to do - just set up the intial Play All with all subtitles and audio selections unchecked except for "1" then copy from there. Probably should take under 10-15 minutes or so
    Put a real quick thing together for a quick view of the tracks. I can flesh it out more if you like.
    http://www.dvdstepbystep.com/081107Sub.dmg
    The main menu will be the title menu, then the sub-menus (including the set up menus) can be placed in the same VTS as the applicable tracks which can help a bit with DVD performance speed. Since there is 6 to 8 chapter markers on a track each of the main sub-menus would have 8-10 buttons which can work in the design.

  • Vivado 2015.2: Simulation and synthesis reverse bit order of std_logic_vector in logical operators

    In both simulation and synthesis the logical operators on std_logic_vector bit-reverse the operands in the result, at least in the case where the result of the expression is passed to a function.
    I suspect this issue applies to other operators as well, though I have only tested the problem with the logical operators. I also suspect the issue exists in other situations where a function is not involved.
    This is incompatible with both ModelSim simulation and XST synthesis and it breaks a lot of our code.
    The attached xsim7.vhd example shows the issue. The xsim7.tcl script will run the Vivado simulation. Under Windows, the xsim7.bat will run the whole thing. The xsim7.xpr project file allows synthesis under Vivado, and you can look at the schematic to see the issue in the synthesized netlist.
    The source module also simulates under ModelSim and synthesizes under XST, and these show what I believe to be correct behavior.
    Can someone please verify this error and either file a CR or tell me to file an SR?
    Ian Lewis
    www.mstarlabs.com

    Hello Bharath,
    When I said "what was index 'LOW becomes index 'HIGH" I meant the 'LOW of the source operands and the 'HIGH of the result, independent of the actual index range. I would have no problem with any 'HIGH and 'LOW on the result of the operator as long as the direction matched the left source operand, though personally I would prefer the same 'HIGH and 'LOW as that of the left operand.
    Looking at the IEEE implementation of logical "or" on std_logic_vector from package std_logic_1164: https://standards.ieee.org/downloads/1076/1076.2-1996/std_logic_1164-body.vhdl:
    -- or
    FUNCTION "or" ( l,r : std_logic_vector ) RETURN std_logic_vector IS
    ALIAS lv : std_logic_vector ( 1 TO l'LENGTH ) IS l;
    ALIAS rv : std_logic_vector ( 1 TO r'LENGTH ) IS r;
    VARIABLE result : std_logic_vector ( 1 TO l'LENGTH );
    BEGIN
    IF ( l'LENGTH /= r'LENGTH ) THEN
    ASSERT FALSE
    REPORT "arguments of overloaded 'or' operator are not of the same length"
    SEVERITY FAILURE;
    ELSE
    FOR i IN result'RANGE LOOP
    result(i) := or_table (lv(i), rv(i));
    END LOOP;
    END IF;
    RETURN result;
    END "or";
    the operator does exactly what Vivado seems to be doing: alias the downto source vectors to a to range of 1 to 'LENGTH and then return a vector of 1 to 'LENGTH. This both bit reverses the downto indexes (the alias on the source operands does that) and changes the range to "to" with a 'LOW value of 1.
    This gives us the 'LEFT 1 and 'RIGHT 4 we see.
    So far, I have found no definition from IEEE of what logical operators, such as "or", are supposed to do on std_logic_vector except as defined by this piece of code for "or" and the other operators' associated bodies from the std_logic_1164 package.
    What this code does seems like a horrible decision about how to implement the logical operators on std_logic_vector with respect to range direction, but it is compatible with what Vivado does, and incompatible with what XST does. (I had never investigated this issue before because what ModelSim and XST did made perfect sense to me.)
    That the assignment  (Result := s)  works as expected, makes sense. The assignment of the "to" range s to the "downto" range Result maintains the 'LEFT relationship. That is, Result'LEFT (index 3) receives s'LEFT (index 1). So, the bits are reversed a second time.
    That ISIM does not match what XST does seems like a defect no matter how you look at it. Your simulation can never match your synthesis if you care about the range direction inside a function (and I suspect in other places too). This deserves an SR or CR if you are still doing any work on those two tools. I think you may not be.
    Are you able to find out whether Vivado was changed from XST on purpose with respect to the behavior of logical operators?
    If this is "as designed" then I have to start working on updating our code to live with it. But, if this is something that happened by accident, and you will change Vivado to match XST, then I probably want to wait. Updating our code to live with this behavior is going to be a pretty big job.
    Thank you for your help,
    Ian

  • Yosemite: An open letter to Apple Development and Design Teams

    Respectfully, is it possible that your teams would reconsider the design choices that were developed for Yosemite? (Mavericks was lovely.) After installing Yosemite, I personally found the revised design elements to be overwhelmingly unappealing -- partially because the icons and overall color scheme are disruptive to the eye.
    A bit of research in your support communities confirms that there is a pervasive sense of dissatisfaction with the look of Yosemite. Apple interfaces have been so beautiful until now… what has happened to the lovely polished Apple that we have all have come to love? Historically, Apple's most devoted base is made up of hi-end creative professionals and extremely design-savvy consumers. Yosemite just looks (I'm so sorry) like someone without any sense of your branding or identity took over. Woefully unsophisticated. The proportions are off. The elegant, but subtle, sense of depth is gone. It's gone flat altogether, but not in a good way.
    There are oversights in the functionality, too. At first glance, the powerful color labeling feature for files has been all but destroyed. In my work, I depended on that feature every day. Managing 22,000+ image and design documents for one client is no easy task, even with Bridge. So I truly depended on Apple's color labeling to help me do my job more efficiently -- but now it seems I will have to look really hard for a tiny colored circle which may (or may not) be concealed by its filename if the browser columns are too narrow. Whoever designed Yosemite clearly does not use color labels as an organizational tool. I am so sad about the labels… .
    Whatever has happened, old friend?!  Would you please consider restoring Apple's fine features of design and function?

    Thank you for the link, 213JB.  It takes me right back to this community.  Hopefully, the Apple teams will find it here.
    Have a great evening.

  • How to improve the query performance in to report level and designer level

    How to improve the query performance in to report level and designer level......?
    Plz let me know the detail view......

    first its all based on the design of the database, universe and the report.
    at the universe Level, you have to check your Contexts very well to get the optimal performance of the universe and also your joins, keep your joins with key fields, will give you the best performance.
    at the report level, try to make the reports dynamic as much as you can, (Parameters) and so on.
    and when you create a paremeter try to get it match with the key fields in the database.
    good luck

  • Can Power Users or Mgt Create and Design Reports Through Query Designer ?

    Dear BI consultants,
    Iam new to BI.
    My management has requested me to Train Power users from All Modules(FICO,HR,QM,PP,SD,MM) to Create Queries and Design Through Query Designer.
    My question is are we suppose to Give query Designer Access to Power users or Mgt so that they can create Queries and reports by themselves.Please Suggest me wht is the Best Practices.
    is it feasable to train power users and Mgt as to how 2 create queries. will there be any side effect on the System or our end.
    Plz suggest.
    wht are the advantages and disadvantages of this.
    If I train the Power users then is there any risk of my Job.
    since they will be creating all reports by themselves.
    wht else can a BI consultant do since iam in a support project.
    how do i convince my Mgt?
    Plz Suggest.
    Thanks Awaiting

    This is common procedure maintained in most of the company's for end users.
    There is no issue if you train the power users.you will be the first point of contact if they have any doubts.and more over you are supporting for your client right? this can't be handed over to power user or end user. data is imp for the client so there will not be any problem for you, if any issue comes while loading you need to take care of the errors and fix the.
    power users or end user will be familiar with Business requirement not with the Query building logic's not with the BW procedure so no worries for you.
    as vineeth said its better to keep control regarding the global and key things at your end so that you will not loose contol on the reports.

  • Error to connect oracle 10g client and designer BO 4.0

    hello,
    I try to connect oracle 10g client and designer BO 4.0.
    I created an ODBC connection to function in the administration tools of data sources but I can not connect once in designer.
    I tried using the driver directly oracle designer 10 but I have the same error that is this:
    DBD: ORA-12154: TNS: connection identifier specified could not be resolved
    someone there had the same concerns?
    cordially

    Hi,
    so it looks like that your TNSNAMES.ORA file isn`t properly configured. Thats why you can connect with the IDT to your Oracle Database.
    Your DBA`s should sent you the correct TNSNAMES.ORA file or the entry for your DB prior. After the tnsping works, you will be able to use the IDT properly.
    Regards

  • IMac vs. Macbook Pro for Art and Design Student

    Hello,
    first off, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forums - it seemed like the best place, but I wasn't entirely sure.
    Secondly, I can imagine you guys get asked this question a lot, so i guess I'm sorry for that!
    Here's the situation - I'm going to College in England this September. I need a computer to accompany me with my course, and what I'll be doing with it. I'm studying Art and Design, but I already have a strong interest and a lot of experience in graphic design, vector illustration and web design - so it needs to fit my personal use as well.
    I knew instantly that I not only wanted but needed an iMac. I saved up, compared the models and then, rather unfortunately, came to a stop.
    Here's the problem - I need the processing power to handle the full Adobe CS5 suite, some 3D modelling and rendering and plenty of photos and music. However, Portability would be nice... although my college has 3 Mac suites, I think that being able to carry my work around and edit on the go will be an obvious plus. If I do go for the iMac, do you recommend me getting the 21.5" or the 27"? I (just) have money for either so that isn't really a problem, but is it worth the extra money for a larger screen and better graphics? Is the Macbook Pro powerful enough? The way I see it, I'm spending £2000+ To only get near the power of the iMac...
    I hope you guys can help me out here, and thank-you in advance!
    (And sorry for the long post...!)
    Message was edited by: ubermatik

    Hi Bee!
    Thanks very much for your advice!
    However, why do you suggest the 21.5" over the 27"? Do you think it is worth the extra screen size, because I can afford either?
    It seemed to me that the iMac was the best option also - I'm in need of the power, but I'm still deliberating over size.
    Also, on a side note, do you know of any iPhone apps that can help me with transferring files from home to college I'm getting an iPod Touch as part of the new deal Apple are running and I just wondered if there were any apps that I would find handy for transporting files etc.?
    Thanks again!

  • How to use SOA Suite in conjunction with SOA Analysis and Design Tools

    Hi everybody,
    I am a novice in this field and I need some help regarding integrating analysis and design tools with SOA Suite.
    We used to analyze and design with Oracle Designer and use its powerful form generator to develop a system. It almost covered all the software lifecycle and kept the traceability between anlaysis,design and implementation.
    I have studied about the SOA concepts and read some papaer about SOA Suite. I have also installed the SOA demo based on SOA Suite and I found it absolutely amazing, but my problem is that It seems oracle does not have any tools for SOA Analysis and Design. am I right? if so, How can we analyze and design a system based on SOA concepts and implement it using soa suite in such a way that keeps traceability? What tools is used for this purpose?
    It seems that IBM have some tools like Rational Software Architect and Rational Suite which enable people to design and analyze based on SOA concepts and then generates some pieces of code (like oracle designer in old days) but is it possible to design in these tools and then generating codes for SOA Suite ? (for example generating a bpel file from a design model)
    As I told before I am a novice in this field and I would be so grateful if other users can share their expriences regarding this matter.
    Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Navid
