Since 10.10.2 upgrade, my computer zooms in for no apparent reason

I just updated to 10.10.2 two days ago.  Since then, I'll be working on something and for seemingly no reason, the entire screen enlarges to the point that I can't find submit buttons.  It seems to happen most frequently when I'm in Safari.  I used to be able to use "command-zero" and it would return to the normal size but now that doesn't work - and all programs that are open also enlarge.  The top menu disappears as well. I've tried force quitting Safari but that doesn't help with the other programs that have the huge screen. I did try modifying some of the options on the trackpad in system preferences but no go.  Also the pinch to make the screen item smaller no longer works.  All positive suggestions welcome. Thanks

Hey pariseau,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
My first thoughts from your description of your screen enlarging is that the Zoom option from the Accessibility preferences has been enabled. Take a look at this article on accessibility options and how to turn them on and just reverse it to turn them off if necessary.

An icon appears, where there are two computers, one larger than the other one, on my computer screen for no apparent reason and at random times.  Does this happen to anyone else while they are using their satellite?  Do you know what it is supposed to indicate?
I have anti-virus software on my computer.
    Solved!

If you can attach a picture of the icon to your reply, maybe somebody can help.

Zoom-in, zoom-out pinch gesture stopped working a few days ago for no apparent reason. I went to Preferences>Gestures, turned off the selection, turned it on again, rebooted, etc. HELP. Any suggestions?

Try Settings>General>Siri>Off. Restart the phone then go back and turn Siri on again. It can take a few minutes for Siri to totally activate again.

  • Is it possible to upgrade a computer that qualifies for Mavericks to Mountain Lion via a content code purchase from the Mac App Store?

I inherited a situation where a previous consultant purchased a Mountain Lion installer code from the Apple Store but Mountain Lion was never installed. I obtained a new installer code from Apple based on the valid purchase of the Mountain Lion software last month.
The Mountain Lion installer appears under Purchases in the Mac App Store, but nothing happens when I try to download it. When I try to redeem the purchase by inserting the content code I get a message indicating that the content code has already been redeemed.
I don't mind spending $20 to purchase a fresh content/installer code, but I would like some assurance that the Mountain Lion software can be installed on a computer that qualifies for Mavericks. Not wanting to upgrade to Mavericks is not my idea but is that of my client.
Or to put it another way, does Apple prohibit such an install unless the computer in question does not qualify for a Mavericks upgrade?

It is your decision which OS you want to upgrade to - Apple does not place such restrictions (unless the machine specs do not meet the OS's specs or vice versa). So, if yours does meet Mavericks specs, it can run any OS newer than what it came with.
So, which OS does the machine have now?
I inherited a situation where a previous consultant purchased a Mountain Lion installer code from the Apple Store but Mountain Lion was never installed. I obtained a new installer code from Apple based on the valid purchase of the Mountain Lion software last month.
Was this purchase done on this same Mac? If so and someone else purchased the OS, then the likely answer is: any OS or app obtained at the app store is not transferable - its' license is tied to the original purchaser's Apple ID forever. So, it may have been a valid purchase, but it is tied to the purchaser, not you.
In order to get past that, you will need to wipe the drive booting from either the original install disk (which OS did the Mac come with?) or using recovery if it was Lion. After wiping the drive, reinstall the original system, and then you can purchase and download any OS version you'd like using your own Apple ID.
Let me know if I misunderstood the situation.

Is the computer setting close to a radio or other device with radio waves?  This is normally caused by interrence from such sources.
