Single Sign On and Command line

Hi!
We have application without any logon form which executed from command line by BAT file:
app.exe Username Password par1 par2 ...
where par1, par2... is parameters of application
So question is: can Oracle Single Sign On set user credentials to the command line? Can we use OSSO for application without logon form?
Thank you.

SSO is for web apps, you could try to use OID to perform the autentification of your application but you should change your application so it looks for the users in LDAP.
Greetings.

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

    Hi,
we're having exactly the same problem.
Could you tell me what the problem is with the network ?
You say configure it properly but what do you mean ?
It's installed on a Windows 2000 Server machine, it's own DNS.

  • Oracle Single Sign on and Oracle Internet Directory

    Hello Gurus,
What is the relationship between Oracle Single Sign on and Oracle Internet Directory.
To my understanding, OID is required to install SSO.
If OID already exist, can we just install SSO and go on integrating it to existing OID.
    Great Thanks,
    vimal jain.
    [email protected]

    Hi Tim,
I've been working on this and could reproduce the issue with anonymous binds. A fix will be ready in 4.2.1.
So what I really need is the password used for login to pass to the is_member call. The P101_PASSWORD item does not save state. However, you can access the value during submit processing of the login page, for example in the post authentication function of your authentication scheme. People sometimes put code in there to query the user's groups (e.g. with apex_ldap.member_of2) and save them in an application. This item value can then be used in the authorization schemes.

  • Single Sign on and Protect URL step

    Hi,
I have successfully installed Oracle Internet Directory, Identity Server, Web Pass, Policy manager, Access Server and WebGate (attached to Oracle HTTP Server from Oracle Management Infrastructure).
    My questions are:
    - How do I protect URL so the user will need to login to access certain URL?
    - How do I enable single sign on and test it?
    - What are the general steps involve to enable URL protection (so if the url is protected it will prompt for username and password) and single sign on using Oracle Internet Directory?
Kindly help me if anyone know a solution or can point me to the right documentation. I have tried to read Oracle Access Manager - Access Administration Guide, but keep getting confused.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Alfonso

    Hi,
You can follow Oracle Access Manager Integration Guide (10.1.4.0.1) B25347-01, chapter 4, to achieve this. This document will answer most of your questions.

  • Single Sign-On and Data Visibility Rights

    Hello,
I was wondering whether anyone has any best practices for implementing single sign on and user identification with Excelsius.
More specifically, I need to interrogate user role, and limit certain data visibility based on that role.
For example, a sales rep may only see certain data for their own territories, but the regional and national managers can see more.
With the emphasis in improving enterprise integration with the new version coming up, I'm also wondering if there are any improvements included for this aspect.
    Thanks in advance.
    Derick

    Hi Derick,
I want to make our discussion into 2 parts
    1) Sign on
    2) Viewing data based on the Heirarchy
1)Before discussing about the Sign on i want to know which connectivity you are using ? Live offcie or QaaWS.
    2) We can make the second point possible in two ways One is with providing restriction at universe level
and the other one is through the use of flash variables.
    Using flash variables:
The main idea of using flash variables is reading the User ID from BO authentication and based on that we fetch the Heirarchy level of that user. Then we use some excel logic to hide the data from Low level heirarchy(Here we use Dynamic Visibility for components).
I hope this is what you ar looking for....
If so i have more points to acheive such scenario.
Please provide the your BO environment details, such that it will be easy to identify the better best wat to acheve it.
    Regards,

  • Solaris 10 x86 cdrw trouble.  Gnome and command line problems writing.

I'm experiencing general weirdness trying to write CD's and DVD's using a new internal DVD-RW device -- It's a Sony NEC AD 7220 A CD / DVD RW drive on a Solaris 10 x86 AMD system. I have searched far and wide for other threads of similar instances but no one has posted an issue like the one I'm having.
    I have a Sony Optiarc AD 7220 A CD-RW on a x86 AMD Athalon 1.6 ghz based server with 2 GB RAM.
The DVD-RW drive gets detected by BIOS (Phoenix TrustedCore 2.3) and reads disks fine. I installed Solaris 10.08 from DVD using this DVD-RW drive.
However, trying to write to new blank media does not work properly, (effectively at all).
I've tried different brands of brands of blank CD's and CD-R and CD+R (have not tried using CD-RW disks yet). Ditto with DVD's - tried DVD-R and DVD+R's.
    1. Inside the Solaris 10 GUI (Gnome, a.k.a. Java Desktop), when I put in a blank CD-R, a dialog box "Format Media...?" pops up. If I click "Ok" it formats the blank CD and closes the session, CD has been written to and is ruined.
    2. I open a terminal window, as root, and put in a blank CD. "mkisofs –r /home/foo 2>/dev/null | cdrw –i –p 1" will write a directory tree OK, but if I go back into gnome GUI and open and close the CD tray, again, up pops the "Format Media..." dialog box instead of the CD appearing on the desktop. If I restart vold (svcadm restart volfs) then open and close the CD tray, voila, the contents appear on desktop as CD icon.
    3. When I try to write to a DVD-R: "cdrw -i /local/iso_image" It always fails with: Write Track 1....Failed. after a few minutes. It did in fact write part of the .iso but bails out with a failure.
I've tried various other write commands (specifying the device ID, speed, so on and so forth) and command line switch options (following the rules of course) and it seems to me to be more than a syntax / media issue. However if it is I would like to know. I did see a similar CDRW device on the HCL for OpenSolaris with a 'reported to work' rating. That was for a Optiarc AD-5200A, which is going away thus my company has chosen to use the AD 7220A in speciality racks we build and deliver to the U.S. Navy.
I really need to get a handle on this CD-RW device issue and decide if a different brand / model is what it's going to take to solve this and move on to producing and delivering these systems in working conditions.

Sony systems are often very particular about what CD's and DVD's they'll take. I have several Sony systems that I use for video work and they'll read almost anything but they'll only write to DVD RW.  They also don't like cheap brand CD's and DVD's.  Be sure to try both CD RW and DVD RW before doing anything else.  Because of the requirement for DVD RW, they won't take fast speed (16x) DVD's, just 4x. If all of this turns out to be the case, you may want to go with a different manufacturer for the drive, DVD +RW 4x aren't always easy to find in the store.

  • How are Windows Server Backup and Command Line Tools used in vCSHB installation?

How are Windows Server Backup and Command Line Tools used during the installation of vCSHB?  Is it required in all types of deployments (PtoV, VtoV, PtoP)? Is it used to create the files that are put in the file share for the second node to use during vCSHB installation or is it only used during a vCSHB clone operation of a Physical to Physical deployment?  Are these tools not used in some deployments?

You need Windows Server Backup installed on source and destination, and during the installation of vCSHB the installer will invoke the wbadmin (Windows Server Backup Utility) and will backup configuration and application data (application data is optimal but can decrease the sync time after installation of secondary node). On the secondary node you will need only run the vCSHB installer and everything will be restored.
Check this blog entry for some more info about some problems in P2P deployment: http://www.vcoportal.de/2013/12/vmware-vcenter-server-heartbeat-restore-on-a-second-node-a-journey/

  • Single Sign-on and HTTP Server not started

I have installed oracle9iAS on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 (SLES 8) which is certified by Oracle to run oracle9iAS. Everything was working propely after installation but when I restarted the server, the listener, the iasdb instance, and the EM started properly but when I went to http://servername:1810 and clicked on start all i got them all started but the HTTP Server and the Single Sign-on. When I tried to start the HTTP Server individually i got the following error:

    and it returned ADMN-906025
Anyone can help me solving this problem??

This error Can be caused by a syntax error in your httpd.conf file, check it / correct it try reloading OHS.
Ensure that emctl is not running when you run any dcmctl commands! If you have already run any dcmctl commands with emctl running that can cause your problem - if so to fix it solution is really to re-install.

  • Single sign-on and custom DBLoginModule

    Hi,
I need help in making sso work. I have Application Server version 10.1.3.1.0, I've developed application in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3. that uses form based login and when deployed to server I can normally login/logout. Now I want to enable single sign on, so I've changed security provider of javasso to the one I'm using in my application (oracle.sample.dbloginmodule.DBProcLM.DBProcOraDataSourceLoginModule) and started javasso, added my application to participating applications, and restarted the instance.
When I try to access my application, login page of javasso is shown but I cannot login, always get incorrect username/password. The strange thing is that logs are empty, so i guess that dblogin module is never fired.
Also I've changed my login method so it supports identity callback, like described in here .
This Re: Custom Login Module and JavaSSO said that orion-application.xml of my application and javasso should be the same, I haven't figured out what should I do with javasso orion-application.xml and how sould it look like.

To be clear maybe someone will help.
I have a cluster topology, with one application server and 3 oc4j instances.
I've done following steps and without success, on my test instance:
    1. Deployed application with custom DBLogin (I'm using: oracle.sample.dbloginmodule.DBProcLM.DBProcOraDataSourceLoginModule)
    2. Sucessfully login / logout -> so I guess DBLogin is working fine
    3. Stopped the java sso application
    4. Changed the javasso Security Provider to my custom DBLogin with following parameters:
    class: oracle.sample.dbloginmodule.DBProcLM.DBProcOraDataSourceLoginModule
    data_source_name - jdbc/WMSPortalDS
    log_level - ALL
    plsql_procedure - PK_SECURITY.GET_USER_AUTHENTICATION
    debug - true
    5. Added Connection Pool and Data Source in javasso Administration -> JDBC -> tested connections and it was sucessful
    6. Started javasso application
    7. Then I went to Java SSO Configuration -> Participating applications -> checked my application
    8. Restarted instance
    9. Try to login -> invalid username / password
In enerprise manager Log files -> javasso -> there are only messages regarding starting and stopping application
    Questions:
    1. orion-application.xml for javasso -> what exactly needs to be specified inside, currently I have following:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <orion-application  xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oracleas/schema/orion-application-10_0.xsd"  deployment-version="10.1.3.1.0" default-data-source="jdbc/OracleDS" component-classification="internal"

  • Partner application single sign-on and Oc4j

    hello,
I'm trying to test portal's partner application single sign-on, following the examples inside the "Oracle9 iAS Single Sign-On Application Developers Guide":

We re-start the services and logon into analytics web and SSO doesn't work but there's not an error. It runs successfully with and Active Directoy user and password. Seems like SSO wasn't enabled, but I checked is enabled.
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks in advanced

  • Difference between Federated single sign on  and just Single sign on

Can anyone please give a clear definition of what is
    1. Federated Single sign on?
    2. Just Single Sign on ?
As a security expert if you were to Architect security what will you suggest ?
    Lets take an example Landscape
NW1(ABAP + JAVA)- system, NW-2(ABAP+JAVA)  system and EP( java only), LDAP
I am having a hard time convincing the customer to have both CONSUMER AND PRODUCER PORTAL for Federated single sign on? is this a bad idea. Customer says just give me SSO(with just one portal acting as CONSUMER/PRODUCER).
initial GOLIVE user load will be 700+ users.

    Hi  Denny Liao
The project is going to have BI(NW) and ECC/SRM/HR(NW) and sepparate  portal ( EP - Java only )
I thought that normal SSO will help in the intranetwork, what happens if the employee(user)  needs to work from home.
What about the external vendors suppliers etc...?

  • How to integrate Single Sign-On and JSF?

    Hi all,
We are going to develop a web application using Oracle technologies, including ADF and JSF.
But we´ll need to secure our website using Oracle Identity Manager (Single Sign-On). I am having difficulties to find any resource explaining how to do that.
Also, the IM (SSO) will run on a Oracle AS instance and our web app (ADF+JSF) will run on a separete OC4J instance, due to ADF version. Is this a problem?
    Thanks

We too are in the process of implementing iStore with SSO features.
And if you believe me it seems to me as nightmare.
In our scenerio we are intgrating this SSO with Third party access control too (AD and Siteminder). I would request you to please respond me on the following mail id , so we can share our experince which will help us in our implementation

    regards and thanks in advance
