Single valued Report Prompt as start value- calculate the end value

Hi all,
I want to be able to create a report prompt (not a dashboard prompt) on a report.
The prompt has to be a drop down list to select the 'Start Month'. In the report, I'd like to display *12* months starting from the 'Start Month' selected in the Prompt.
So, if the value selected in the Prompt is March 2010, the report should display months from March 2010 to Feb 2011.
PS: This report is not going to be on a dashboard. It will be an ad-hoc report in the Shared Folders for users.
thanks!

I think that clears it up then, yes? So the answer is, use a dashboard to share.
Answers is great for individual use and, if the report doesn't require prompts, for sharing. But once you involve prompts, that's where you need the dashboard as the "palette" on which to "paint" your reports with prompts. Answers is a tool with its purpose, but so is the dashboard. Take advantage of the purpose of the tool and your life will be much easier!
If that answers your question, mark answer as "correct" and close this thread. Thanks.

  • Safari (7.0.1) is non-responsive (spinning pinwheel) upon start up.  It will work in temp user account but not in my main user acct.  I tried reinstall via comman-r prompt on start up but the problem persists.  Any suggestion for reinstall or repair?

Safari is non-responsive after intitial start up.  Before it can load the homepage (google), it will hang and give a perpetual pinwheel until I force quit the program.  Safari works in temporary user account but not in my primary user account.  I have reinstalled osx via the command-r upon start up and the problem still persists.  Any suggestions on how to reinstall or repair safari?

Thanks for thinking about my problem. I've already experimented with creating a new user, a co-administrator. The programs don't crash when that account is running, just as they don't crash when the guest-user's account runs. So it seems that the problem is limited to the default user's account, which is the one that was running when I installed the updates to the OS and the firmware. Another clue is that the programs that crash as soon as they are launched are *probably* the ones that were open at that time in that account. Yet deleting Saved Application States does not keep the programs from crashing when next launched.
So the mystery continues, but these additional facts will help with the diagnosis, I hope.
    Thanks again for your suggestion.

  • Webm loads completely before playing and starts playhead at the end

    Hi,
We are trying to figure out playback of our WebM videos in Firefox. Looking at the native video player by going directly to a video url we have some strange behavior.
We have found that the browser seems to download the entire video before beginning playback. When the video finally does download and playback, we find that often the playhead will be placed at the end of the video. If the playhead is not at the end of the video, you can't just click play, you have to click a position in the "timeline" to get the video to begin playing.
Ideally, the behavior would be that the video beings playback as it starts to download from the beginning of the file.
We are encoding the videos with FFMPEG using libvorbis and libvpx. We server our content from Amazon Cloudfront, but can also test from a lighttpd server (same behavior).
Please let me know if you would like more information and thank you for your help!
Here are a bunch of our videos to look at:

Has anyone found an answer to this? I tested and used a different converter other than Miro and the issue didn't happen. The webm file played normally. Fact is, i dont want to pay for another converter - I really want to use Miro.
    ...anything?

  • IMovie won't start, but in the end it did

i read the other posts about crashing imovie at the start, but my problem seemed a little different. my imovie started, i saw the app windows, then crashed immediatley. the strange thing was starting it from another account always worked. i then reinstalled, but didn't copy any of the imvie pref files to my new user account, still same prog crash. then i moved all my pictures from the folder "pictures" in /users/xxx/ to another subfolder in the picture folder. before there were like 170 objects in that folder summarizing to 70gb pictures.
i restarted imovie and it worked. i don't know why imovie crashes when there are so many objects in the "pictures" folder but not when they are in a subfolder of that same folder.
anyways, nice work apple for making such great software

i could even narrow it down to my 44gb iphoto library file, whwn i put that in another place, it works of course i don't have my iphoto library in my media browser window.
again thanks apple for making such great software.

  • TS3694 i have just formatted my iphone without having any backup, when i try to restore it using itunes the process starts but at the end it gives error 1015, i think its because i don't have any backup files, the iphone is not running it only shows a usb

how can i get everything back?

Error 1015 occurs when a phone is jailbroken.  Jailbreaking the iPhone voids any warranty and support from Apple, including this forum.

  • Issue in calculating sum on a column at the end of the report in Pivot view

    Hi,
I have some columns like Hierarchy column A, Non Hierarchical columns B, C and a measure D.
In Pivot view under rows I have placed columns A,B and C in Columns and D in measures. If I try to calculate sum of values at the end of report by using option Sum At the End on columns we are getting an error that grouping by function should be in the select clause of the query.
If I duplicate the column C and put it in rows then I am able to see totals at the end but values are displayed in multiple rows and it won't meet our requirement.
Any suggestion or workarounds on this will be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Vj

    Hi,
    let me explain it better..
Col A: GL Segment Hierarchy which will display Level1 to Level n Names
    Col B: Level n Code.
    Col C: Fiscal Period
    Col D: Amount
Now col A and B are in Rows, col c in columns and col D in measures in a pivot view.
Issue is we are unable to have total of measure values at the end of report by using sum at the end.

  • Fixed start date and variable end date

I'm using Project 2010 Standard. Task A has already started. It can't end until 2 weeks after the completion of task B. The only way I can make Project schedule this task is by doing so manually, allowing Project to calculate the duration. But then if the
end date of task B changes, Project reschedules the entire task based on the duration without regard for the start date. If I add a % complete to task A, then the end date doesn't change if the end date of task B does. Project seems to fix the duration
once it's calculated. I need the duration to be flexible based on the fixed start date and the end date of task B. This project file is stored in SharePoint so I can't make task A a hammock task. I get the error "You cannot create links from a project
file that exists on a Web folder to another file" even though it's the same file. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    WhoKnows,
I'm afraid without a hammock task the only way to do what you want is either with a manual reschedule or a macro to recalculate the duration of Task A when Task B moves.
Update: Okay, after playing around here is a little trick that might work.
    1. Break Task A into two parts (e.g. -1 and -2)
    2. Set the predecessor of Task A-2 to be finish-to-start with Task A-1 and finish-to-finish + 2w with Task B
Depending on the nature of Task A you may still need to do a little manual adjusting but it will effectively allow the start of Task A to be fixed and the finish to be variable depending on the status of Task B. Does that work for you?

  • How to find a line/edge that starts at the same point as the end of another

I have an edges table of Lat/Lon data and for a specific edge I want to find any other edges that have the same start point as the end point of the given edge.
    I tried the following query:
    select geo_street_id from geo_street s2
    where SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_START_PT(s2.geom) =
    (select SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_END_PT(s.geom) as geom from geo_street s
    where geo_street_id = 122978214)
but it gets the following error:
ORA-22901: cannot compare nested table or VARRAY or LOB attributes of an object type
    Any Ideas?

    1. to compare geometry to be equal you should use appropriate function (SDO_GEOM.RELATE http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B14255_01/sdo_objgeom.htm#sthref1561) or operators (sdo_relate http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B14255_01/sdo_operat.htm#i78531) with specific mask EQUAL.
    2. to filter down the resultset in first place you can use the operator SDO_RELATE with mask TOUCH as this will return already the set of lines sharing endpoints, but will also include lines touching eachother not at endpoints (endpoint intersecting the otherone's interior)
    something like
    select geo_street_id from geo_street s2, geo_street s
    where
    s.geo_street_id = 122978214
    AND
    sdo_relate(s2.geom, s.geom,'mask=touch') = 'TRUE'
    AND
    sdo_geom.relate(SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_START_PT(s2.geom),
    'EQUAL',
    SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_END_PT(s.geom),0.005)='EQUAL'
    3. if you would do this for the full table, an SDO_JOIN (http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B14255_01/sdo_operat.htm#BGEDJIBF) might be more appropriate.
    4. you might also consider 4 cases:
    start = start
    start = end
    end = start
    end = end
    5. alternative would be to take only the endpoints of your selected geometry and perform a touch with the edges. using the sdo_util.APPEND on the startpoint en endpoint of your geometry will return a multipoint. although there might some specific cases that this would not return respected result I think
    something like:
    select geo_street_id from geo_street s2, geo_street s
    where
    s.geo_street_id = 122978214
    AND
    sdo_relate(s2.geom,
    SDO_UTIL.APPEND(
    SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_START_PT(s.geom),
    SDO_LRS.GEOM_SEGMENT_END_PT(s.geom)
    ,'mask=touch') = 'TRUE'
Let us know how it works.

    Hi,
    I see two issues,
    1. the url is not correct for the image, www.mountjay.com/Home/MountJayDesign.jpg
    2. meta property should go in to head section, at the moment, it is under body (if you insert the code as html). go to page properties-> Metadata-> head. Paste this here, and check the site again,
Please let me know if you have any other query.

  • System should calculate the UPC/EAN Number automatically

Can we add the UPC calculator to SAP, MM01 so the system can calculate the ending checkdigit for us?  Currently when we need to calculate the ending checkdigit for upc codes we go to an online site, key the number, calculate the ending digit, copy and paste into MM01. Can this calculation be added to MM01, Basic Data 1, EAN/UPC field?
If we key the 14 digit upc ending in 0, the system message can then tell us what the corrected digit should be or change it automatically for us. Currently the message says "the EAN xxx has an incorrect checkdigit"
example temp upc-key 55000011564120 and the message should say "ending digit should be 6" or the system can change to 0 to a 6 for us.
example real upc-00036000915450 and the message should say "ending digit should be 7" or the system can change to 7 for us.
We have to key the zero on the end or the system adds a leading zero up front (to make the full 14 digits) and just accepts.
Website we use to calculate the ending digits is http://www.gs1.org/barcodes/support/check_digit_calculator
Please help me in solving this scenario.....
    Marc.

    Hi Mark,
For this scenario you will need to add custom code for automatic calculation of Check digit and thus modifying EAN/UPC no. entered by you to a correct EAN/UPC no.
However as soon as we enter EAN/UPC( with wrong check digit) no in basic data 1 tab we get an error u201CThe EAN 36000915450 has an incorrect check digitu201D. And it seems that in between entry of EAN/UPC and error message there is no customer exit/BADI  is coming in which we could have written our custom code to generate check digit and correct EAN/UPC.
So an option is that if you are uploading multiple materials you can use BDC to upload all such materials and there you will have the possibility to correct the EAN/UPC using ABAP custom code before submitting it to MM01 screen.
    Regards,
    Rajwin.

    Hi Kalaivani Krish18,
If you are having issues with your iPhone attempting to update, you may want to try the troubleshooting steps in this article -

  • Crystal Reports prompt single value variable from BEX

    Hi,
after upgrade to BO 4.1 SP2 Patch 3 the prompt from BEX variable in CR doesn't work.
After investigation the issue is happened for variables containing more than 9 values.
Bex Setting: Variable -> Details -> Variable Represents -> Single value
    Variable which shows Jan-Dec
The issue happens only on CR file stored in BO server in Cr design time it works fine.
Is the bug known? Is there any solution?
    Harald

    Yep.
Now tell me how you want to show that Prompt @ WebI report level.
My problem is that in WebI selection screen we get list of date values from the info provider instead of Calendar prompt
where user can enter the values directly. Exactly, i didn't get this??
    @Prompt:
You have flexibility to show options like:
Mono/Multi: User can select Single value or Multiple.
BW Variable: Same we have (Single/Multiple)
Free/Constrained: User can Enter his/her value directly or No change option.
BW Variable: By defalut you will get this, once you made it to Optional input.
Persistent/Not_Persistent: Refreshed report has to show last selected value means use Persistent otherwise Not_P.
By seeing the Prompt syntax , I can say your Variable is after Customer Exit, Correct??
    Workaround for your Problem is:
    <FILTER KEY="ZV_DATE"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Date (Previous Day)','A','Date\LovDate (Previous Day)Base',mono,primary_key)"/></CONDITION></FILTER>
You have to remove that Date class and objects from prompt syntax. Because of that it showing up LOV's not calendar.
    Like:
    <FILTER KEY="ZV_DATE"><CONDITION OPERATORCONDITION="Equal"><CONSTANT TECH_NAME="@Prompt('Date (Previous Day)','A',',mono,primary_key)"/></CONDITION></FILTER>
    Why, It should be blank??
Because Date needs no class\object to show up, by default you will get Calendar on the fly.
    Hope you got my point.
    Thank You!!

  • Calculate single value as ranked number function does not apply in CR

    Hi everybody,
I built up a query with the SAP BEx Query designer. For one key figure I enabled the function "Calculate single values" as ranked list. So the query has the following result.
    Instead of...
    Score
    1220
    2032
    2390
    2389
    ...I got...
    Score
    1
    2
    4
    3
Unfortunately when importing the query to Crystal Reports Crystal is just importing the key figure itself - the ranked list does not exist... so the output is the same as in the first example.
I tried to rebuild the formula with crystal means using the Rank function but I failed...
Can anybody provide a workaround for me?
Is there another way as using the formula workbench?
    Best regards,
    Sebastian

    Hi Ingo and everybody,
I used now the following function using the Nth largest function:
    If nthlargest(1, {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]})
       = {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]} then "1"
    else if nthlargest(2, {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]})
       = {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]} then "2"
    else if nthlargest(3, {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]})
       = {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]} then "3"
    else if nthlargest(4, {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]})
       = {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]} then "4"
    else if nthlargest(20, {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]})
       = {TECHNAME_OF_QUERY.[Measures]-[9XU9YT56S6PRL7DR80I3DK9RA]} then "20"
The formula is not very handsome and will fail, if the number of records exceeds...
    Are there any alternatives?
And: Is there a possibility to change the field name, because those clumsy field names cause that the whole formula is almost unreadable. Or is the only way to build subreports?
    Regards,
    Sebastian
