  • Site Plan in Illustrator - Tips?

I'm creating a site plan for a campus using Illustrator - anyone have any good examples or ideas on how to make it really pop?  I'm using gradients instead of flat green fills for grass, transparencies and shadows on the trees - basically gradients everywhere instead of just fills - any other ideas?
    Thanks.

    c,
It is rather difficult to give any advice without seeing what you have. And trying to make something really pop may really be overdoing. Sometimes simple stands out and complicated is just messy.
In any case, the best place to ask is the Illustrator forum:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/illustrator/illustrator_general?view=discussions#/?per_p age=100

  • Can you convert your desktop site plan into the phone & tablet version w/o re-creating the pages?

Can you convert your desktop site plan into the phone & tablet version without re-creating the landing pages? This seems too extensive to have to re-design each page?

    Cwsnell,
On your nav bar there is a shorcut to other pages.
The most effecient way I have found to do this from the phone layout,
click on the page icon shown above
type in the name of the page (and select the desktop version as indicated by the icon of the monitor)
select all on that page (CTRL A / Command A) and copy (CTRL C / Command C)
revert back to the phone layout page and paste (CTRL V / Command V)
then resize, delete what you dont need, make any other edits and your done!
There is not a way to copy a page entirely over.  The mobile version should have less information and less imagery to enable fast load times.

  • How can I send a site plan to client for approval?

How can I send a site plan to client for approval?

    Hi Chirptile,
There is no specific option to send only the site plan to someone for review. But you can send the locally saved .muse file via email and your client can open that file in Muse to review.
Please clarify further if I misunderstood in any way. Also you can contact us here Contact Customer Care -> click on 'I Still need help?. Contact Us' and then chat now for any instant help.
    Hope that helps!
    Kind Regards,

  • Site not rendering

    Hi,
I have a site that renders fine in Firefox and IE, but is just showing the code for the page in Safari. The URL is http://www.englishhelp.ca/000/main.asp. If anyone knows it would be doing, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    FYI,
It doesn't render on Firefox 3.0.5 on Linux either. All I see is the code.
It looks like the problem is the server you're hosting on, not the page as such:
    curl -I http://www.englishhelp.ca/000/main.asp
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Date: Sun, 11 Jan 2009 09:58:56 GMT
    Server: Apache/2.2.9 (Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 PHP/5.2.6
    Last-Modified: Sun, 11 Jan 2009 09:43:24 GMT

    Accept-Ranges: bytes
    Content-Length: 4656
    *Content-Type: text/plain*
The bold line is the problem. You need to configure your server to tell it .asp pages are of type 'text/html'

  • I believe my firefox is viewing some websites on my laptop in formats that are used for cellular devices. Sites like facebook, sports illustrated, yahoo are not functioning correctly but certain sites work fine.

sits such as facebook, yahoo, and sports illustrated do not function correctly on firefox but they do on my internet explorer. I believes its somehow set itself into the same format used for cellular devices... My JSU.edu page says somethin about it being in (portal mode). It is also a different format now that normal.

    Hi @TheBigGiggle ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP ENVY TouchSmart 17 Notebook PC and a keys not functioning correctly. Here is a document on cleaning the keyboard.
I would start with air on the keys as sometimes debris can cause this issue.
Here is a link to uninstall the keyboard. In the device manager have you uninstall all that is listed in keyboards, restart the computer after uninstalling, it should reinstall automatically and resolve any issues with the keyboard.
Here is a link to keyboard troubleshooting.
Here is a fix from Microsoft that might help.
Let me know how this goes.
    Thanks.
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

  • Trees in Plan View for Illustrator - Vector Graphics

Does anyone have any idea as to where get good trees drawn for Illustrator in Plan View?

    Brooke...
You're in the wrong area of the forum to be asking your question.
This area is specifically for suggesting new features for the Illustrator application itself.
Head up one level to the Main Illustrator forum and start a new thread with your question.
    Thanks.

  • Valid svg file not rendered properly Illustrator CS3: Place or File open messes up svg

Hi I have a svg file for a chemical molecule that is validated as valid SVG by the w3c validator. Firrefox, google chrome and inkscape , as well as other svg applications open and render the file just fine.
However adobe illustrator renders the characters in the file some 600% bigger than they need to be.
This seems to be a bug in the svg rendering , given that the svg file works in the other programs mentioned. Can anyone tell me how to get the molecule read in correctly into Adobe Illustrator
. I am attaching a screenshot of the molecule as read into Adobe Illustrator and the svg file itself. I am using Adobe Illustrator CS3 on Windows XP
    Thanks

    w3c validation report:
The uploaded document "adenosine.svg" was successfully checked as SVG 1.1+IRI, XHTML5+ARIA plus MathML 2.0 (experimental). This means that the resource in question identified itself as "SVG 1.1+IRI, XHTML5+ARIA plus MathML 2.0 (experimental)" and that we successfully performed a formal validation using an SGML, HTML5 and/or XML Parser(s) (depending on the markup language used).

If svg is not a reliable format for this purpose I need to use eps or ps or pdf as the format for the content.
SVG is "reliable", you just need to make it Illustrator SVG, which much to the chagrin of most users is a completely different thing than web-compliant SVG. Hence people use Inkscape as an intermediate workflow in such cases. If you simply save the file from AI, you can easily see what changes it makes and how it likes the formatting and entities so if you have control over the source code of your app, I don't see what would be the difficulty an adjusting it??? I mean, EPS and PDF won't negate that fact, either - to render correctly in AI, it needs to follow its somewhat odd way of handling some format specs. You could produce a PDF that is 100% perfect as per the spec, but it could still look like crap in AI, so I'm realyl not sure what you are trying to prove here...

  • Sketchup vector clay renders in illustrator?

    Hi
I"m trying to do a clay render after effect in illustrator.
i'm exporting a dwg. 2d export from sketchup
photoshop export of black shadows so that i can do vector trace in illustrator and add gradient and blur effects
the video is here that gave me inspiration. can anyone elaborate on this please ? this video is about photoshop shadow effects in a 3d model [exported as a 2d jpeg image from sketchup]

well, as in the video, the shadows are exported, and then levels are adjusted to get shadows alone. so..illustrator can trace the shadows.
Regarding the linework... sketchup can export the file as 2d dwg. drawing. which will give us 2d wireframe of the whole building, that is visible on the picture plane
so we indeed would have 2 vector things
    1. the linework of the building
    2. black patches of shadows.
the rest of blurring can be done in illustrator somehow, yes?

  • Muse Site Plan Question

    Hello out there!
I'm a self taught (well, still frantically learning) "designer", so if this question is super fundamental I apologize
I have grand plans for this site I'm building but I can't for the life of me figure out how to layout the planning stages! What I would like would be something like this:
    HOME
    (with only two buttons
    Interiors & Exteriors)
                                                                                                   INTERIORS                                                                                                          EXTERIORS
                                                                                    (HOME)                                                                                                                                          (HOME)
ABOUT                    PORTFOLIO                 CONTACT                     BLOG            EXTERIORS                                   ABOUT                    PORTFOLIO               CONTACT                    BLOG             INTERIORS
The Crew                       Bathrooms                                                                                                                                   The Crew                          Whole House
Why We're Cool              Kitchens                                                                                                                                       Why We're Cool               Windows
Are We Right For You?   Basements                                                                                                                                   Are We Right For You?    Doors
                                                                                  Other Rooms                                                                                                                                                                         Historic Restoration
However, when I put it in Muse menus don't work out & pages need new names (I feel like Atreyu in Never Ending Story...)
Like I said I apologize if this is super fundamental, but google has yielded zero results
    Thanks!
    Vanessa

Actually, Muse does allow two pages to have the same name, just not the same filename.
By default the filename is generated from the name the page is given in Plan view, so that's whether the duplicate name restriction comes from. If you go to Page Properties you can turn off this automatic behavior and make the filename whatever you want as long as it's unique for your entire site.
Every page has the name used in the menu (and Plan view), the title used in the browser tab and search results, and the filename. By default Muse generates the title and filename from the name entered in Plan view, but you can override that in Page Properties.

  • Localhost site not rendering

    Hello all,
I'm not sure if this is the best forum, but it seemed like the closest fit. I'm doing a bit of developing, just a small community site. My problem is that when I attempt to view the site (held locally on my G5) all I get is the html. It refuses to render. This happens in Firefox, Opera, and Safari. I'm a bit new to the Mac, so I'm sure that it's operator error, I just can't figure it out. The code is valid through w3C. I developed the original rough on a university server and validated it, so it's not the code. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks for any help.
    James

Well, I may have figured it out on my own. Naturally, I continued researching after I posted and it seems that I have to set up my Mac to serve webpages. It's not complicated to open up the control panel and enable Personal Web Sharing, but I'm wondering why. On my Windows machine, I simply click any locally stored .hmtl document and the browser renders it. I have IE7, FireFox, and Safari on my PC and they all render the pages. On my Mac, I still get just code (unless I enable Personal Web Sharing, which I haven't had a chance to try yet).
My new question is: "Is there an advantage to the method Mac uses?" It seems much simpler to let the browser render the page than to actually have to run my personal Mac as a local web server.
    Thanks again!

  • WebCenter Sites:Problem Rendering Save Button and Contributor UI DashBoard IN WCS

    Hi All,
I am facing an issue in Webcenter sites regarding the Save button not being shown up while creating a new asset and contributor UI Dashboard not being displayed in some systems when opened in chrome.
Currently, when we try to create any new asset from our system we are able to see the save button in WCS environment. Also,in some of the systems contributor UI Dashboard doesn't display instead a white screen is shown up.But in our client system neither the Save button is displayed nor the Contributor UI Dashboard.
The issue for Contributor UI Dashboard sometimes get resolved when we reinstall chrome.
Further,Our system is having a jdk version as jdk1.6.0._38 and that works on 64 bit OS while our client machine is having the latest version of jdk7 which works on 32/64 bit OS.
Is the issue related to improper jdk version/there is some setting that needs to be done in browser/the browser version is not compatible?
    Kindly suggest.
    Regards,
    Anurag Guru

Sometimes the WEM Admin app corrupts the role and site assignments when saving changes.  Whenever you work in the WEM admin UI, be sure that all of your changes save fully - don't rush the saving of data in that UI.
To fix this, try to "re-provision" your users and sites and you should be able to restore access.  This is definitely frustrating, but it's fairly contained issue.
