Site still appears, but working pages gone from computer!

HELP! Had to have my HD replaced on my 1 year old macbook. First time I've had to try and retrieve backed up info from my .mac backup program.
Everything seemed to pop back in fine except iweb. None of my working web pages are there anymore! It's like starting for the first time.
Now, when I go to the site which I had saved in my favorites, the site is there as last published.
How do I get it back? Can I? If I make a new one and publish it, will it over write this one? Any help is appreciated!

Think I just came accross another posting that says I can't retrieve it.....
Maybe someone can still tell me this. If I create a NEW webpage, will it overwrite the current one or does it give me a new site location?

Hi i recently encountered a problem after deleting a secondary site, but it seems to happen only under my user account on the primary site console, here's the thing
I deleted the site, and the log shows that the site was succesfully deleted, i connected to the server and the logs are ok, and the registry no longer has any SMS keys left to delete, and in programs files, both the configuration manager files, and the sql
files were also deleted/uninstalled correctly, but in my console, the site still appears as Deleting...
Note that I was the one who created it in the first place, and apparently I'm the only one who can still see it..., I open the console in both, the primary site server, and on my computer, and it shows as deleting, under Administration > sites configuration
> sites, and I can still see the server on the site and site sistem roles, and that's it, and if I switch to the Central Site, is not there, which I guess is good
I checked on both my colleagues, and they don't see the site anywhere, just me under my user account connected to the primary site
Now, i did ran the Preinst /DELSITE command and it says that it couldn't find the data base for the site, which is good as well
Part of the problem is that, I have to re-install the site, and if I run the setup connected to the primary site under my account, it says that the name already exists (i have to re-use the site code as per request) and if I run the same setup but
connected to CAS or a colleague does it on primary or cas, the setup continues without the warning saying that the site code already exists
So I would just like to find a way to delete it from my console or find the reason that's causing it, to avoid further conflics for that secundary site

Have you deleted from AD Container ? did you cheked the hman.log ? is the replication ok?

Try closing all open applications in multitasking and power cycling the device. Once this is done test the results. If the issue persists, I have included a couple troubleshooting articles that I would recommend going through.

If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.

When I resume my laptop from sleep/hiberante, firefox is hung. It will prompt me with a dialog when I quit, so it is still running, but the page display is blank and will not refresh. I noticed this since about beta 7

Firefox is running when my laptop comes out of system standby, but the page that was displaying when the laptop went into sleep mode is now a white canvas that does not refresh.
The application is not hung, because I get prompted to save tabs when I quit, but for some reason, I can't prompt Firefox into refreshing the screen.
I'm running Firefox on a Thinkpad T400 which has Intel 4 series Express integrated Graphics.

This also happened if the network adapter is disabled then enabled. My computer is Windows 7 x64. Firefox needs to be killed from taskman before it will load a new instance of the application. I can also reproduce with all add-ons disabled.

One of my sites still connects but the other gets An ftp error occurred cannot make connection to host.

My problem is in “connect to remote server”. I manage two sites in Dreamweaver CS6, and they are hosted by the same guys. One site still connects fine but the other one has stopped connecting. With the second site when I click on the button I get a delay then "An ftp error occurred -- cannot make connection to host".
However I can still access the second site’s remote server through an FTP program, and the Host tech support confirms my login is working fine from his computer.
I tried doing this old trick (1) Site > Manage Sites > Export to create a .ste file (2) quite, restart (3) Manage Sites > Import the .ste file (4) click on connect to remote server -- But that made no difference

Just because both sites are hosted by the same firm doesn't mean they are on the same physical server. Your problem connecting could be attributable to many things.
User name and password may have changed or been reset.
Server permissions problems (GoDaddy is notorious for this).
IP blocking.
Server is down.
etc...
Are you able to connect with a 3rd party FTP client like FileZilla? If not, I'm guessing this is a server problem & you need to contact your host.

Bug or by Design? Commented-out ADF components still appear on .JSP page

I normally use all .jspx pages, but for a couple of pages I'm using a .jsp page because I need to include <f:verbatim> HTML code.
I'm noticing an odd occurrence where ADF component statements contained within comments still appear on the .jsp page (this does not occur with .jspx pages, and, regular comments w/o ADF components do not appear.) For example the following still shows up on the rendered page?:

This statement is not contained with the verbatim tag which appears later. I've also re-saved, re-compiled, etc. to make sure I wasn't using an older version of the page.
Is this a bug or something I'm not aware of related to  within a .jsp page?

The different comments jsp are:

<%-- This is a jsp comment --%>
The difference is the HTML comment is send to the browser, but the browser should not render comments to the user.
The jsp comments are not send to the browser, since they are stripped off by the compiler.
This reminds me of one project, where we used the write HTML comments on the jsp-pages like

Ipod 160g music library shows up when connected to itunes, but empty when disconntected from computer

At some point last night the mac i had connected to my ipod 160gb went to sleep and when it awakened, I ejected and disconnected ipod, instead of going right to the music menus, the ipod restarted, and opens up the language selection screen, as if it is empty. There are 0 music files, 0 videos, playlists etc., actually it even says 0 KB available.
When i reconnect to my computer i have access to my ipod library on my ipod like normal.
I have tried doing the hold switch toggle and then holding menu/select until the apple icon appears, at which point it restarts, but the ipod still appears without any access to the music.
My ipod is set to sync manually, i.e. i dont have it backed up on itunes.

It is a big risk to keep your only copy of song files on an iPod. It can become lost, broken, or in need of a Restore. That's what your iPod probably needs now, a Restore. There is probably data corruption on the iPod's storage.
Your computer seems to still see the song files on the iPod, so you may be able to off-load them to your computer's drive. You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store. However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, add them to your current iTunes library. Then (after confirming all of your songs are there), do a Restore on your iPod. The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes. This will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings. You can then sync your songs back to the iPod.
Going forward, you should keep all of your songs in your iTunes library (not just on the iPod). And then back up your iTunes data on the computer, along with your other valuable personal data, to protect against your computer failing.

Time Machine Gone from Computer

I don't know how this happened, but Time Machine is no longer on my computer.
I had it on my Dock, but there was a quesiton mark when I put the cursor over it.
I tried a search on my computer but it is gone.
How do I reinstall it?
I tried the recovery discs, but it says I cannot use them when I try using them.
I have used it in the past, but for some reason is gone now.

Open System Preferences, at the bottom is there a icon that says Time Machine?
Then it is still on the system and can be used from that system preference icon.
What model MBP do you have? When did you buy it? What operating system are you using?
If it is faily new and is running Lion or you upgrade to OS X Lion then you have to use the internet to reinstall the operating system to get Time Machine back.
Please answer the questions I asked above.

Itunes gone from computer

I have tried to repair from Computer programs but keep getting error invalid F:.. don't have an F:.. I have also tried to download updates and re install from original disc but still the same error. Can anyone advise as this is driving me crazy. Haven't had any of these problems before.

Yikes! Yeah, if you don't know what an admin account is, I don't know that I'll be successful stepping you through this over the internet. You might want to call a PC-savvy friend or hire a local PC tutor to do this.

Also, your signature line says Windows 98. That can't be right, at least not if you're tyring to install iTunes, because APple never made a version for WIn 98!

My MG3500 stopped working. It still copies, but won't print from my computer any more.

Are you sure that the video is in a format QuickTime can handle? Can you post the URL to the web site containing the video so that we can try it out ourselves?

Thumbnails still appear but the photo is gone - please help!

I've already Googled the crap out of this, and it's happened before and I was able to use Finder to recover some of the original files, but I can't seem to do that this time. Maybe I'm not finding the link that helped me before or something but I NEED these photos.
I'm using iPhoto 11 and I use Lightroom 5 to edit. I drag flagged images from iPhoto to LR and then export to desktop first, then I move them into iPhoto and Finder - the same album in each location for easy access and multiple backup. I hear 'dragging' can sometimes mess with files, though I'm not sure why. And besides that I am not good at organizing LR so that may contribute to it. I simply import, edit, export and move onto the next project. I only want to use it like a post processing program, not an uploader or storage program....
When I test an image that isn't already gone like this, from the same album, it doesn't work. It won't drag and I can't even find iPhoto library while inside LR in order to manually upload it.
This must be an issue with LR/user error because the images that are currently gone are images I've already edited/exported. I'm sure to not delete from disk when I delete photos from LR though, so I just don't know!

You start to go wrong right here:

Lr is not an editor. Like iPhoto it's a database with lossless processing. Images need to be imported and exported from it. You really need to choose between the two apps as they occupy the same role in the workflow. Using both is like writing your novel in TextEdit and Word at the same time.

Then you are better off using a post processing program and not a manager instead of one. All your problems come down to that.
So, get an external editor - and in the list below they are all less epensive than Lr, - and your workflow will be a lot less complicated.
In order of price here are some suggestions:

The Gimp (free)
Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
Acorn ($50 approx)
Pixelmator ($50 approx)
Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

Site seems to be gone from computer... still on DotMac. How do I edit?

I composed a simple site a few weeks ago and today I tried to edit it and when I opened iweb, it acted like I had never been there before nor could I find anything that resembled "open existing site" in any of the menus. I am a newb when it comes to macs (only a couple months) but i am a full on geek in every other way.
I found my domain file and double clicked it and it brought up iWeb and again asked me to start creating a new file.
Any ideas?

By default Iweb stores the domain file in username/library/application support/iweb, but sounds like you found that.
Sounds like the file you built the site with got deleted or moved.
Try searching the computer for "domain". If you find a second one double click on it and see what happens.
If your luck and find it move it back where iweb expects to find it and go from there.
The domain file can be kept anywhere and double clicked to load it, but Iweb looks where the default is
If you don't find it you've most likely lost it and have to start over. You can't import the files back in from the web, but could get photos, movies, etc. from the idisk and reuse them.

When I click a link to open a new tab/window it opens and the URL appears but the page doesn't load?

To clarify - the new tab or window appears, and the web address is showing correctly in the address bar, but for some reason the new page won't load unless I manually highlight it and hit return. Please help!

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
