Siwss french Bluetooth Keyboard on iPad

Hi!
I'm a journalist from luxembourg/Europe who is doing most of his writing in French. I have linked my BlueTooth keyboard to the iPad, but am unable to use "accented" letters like é or è among others, as the iPad options do not currently seem to support the Swiss/French keyboard I am using on my MacBook Pro and which I am trying to use on my Pad. Any upgrades coming or tother solutions, I would be glad to hear from you

Nobody knows if or when Apple will add a Swiss French option to the available hardware layouts. Hopefully this would happen when iOS 4 is available in the fall, but it's impossible to be certain. You need to tell them you want it here and in the meantime use another layout

Everywhere that I've checked it is not possible to do this. I would like to even do this using the vkb. I hate having to stretch my thumb all the way up just to send a message. It's messaging, not a report or email. Seems backwards. Hopefully some day Apple can add this option.

Why the user experience on Bluetooth keyboard of iPad is different on keyboard of MacBook, especially when typing Chinese characters?

I am a Chinese in Taiwan, and I use a input method call "Changjei" (倉頡) to input chinese character. And thank for "Yahoo Kimo Input Method" found in Macbook Pro, so that I can use this method as same as typing in Windows PC. When I use bluetooth keyboard connect to iPad mini, it has "Changjei" input method also, but the user experience is different than typing in MacBook Pro! I often type the wrong word when typing in iPad, because some words need additional space key to avoid selection ( when selection appear usually need additional number key for selection ). Usually every chinese character only need one space key for confirm, and in iPad, some Chinese characters need two space key(this will cause problem), and others need one as usual. It slow me down greatly, and is not a smoothly and freely experience when expressing my idea by typing in iPad, and I often distract by these misleading situation when typing.

First Generation Bluetooth Keyboard and iPad?

I have a first Generation Bluetooth Apple Keyboard (model A10160 that works fine with my newer iMac. I am trying to pair with iPad, the iPad locates the keyboard, but seem to want to pair.
Any thoughts or help?

Here is more info. Look at page 22 of the iPad manual:
Bluetooth
You can use iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard for wireless typing, or Bluetooth headphones for wireless listening.
Pairing Bluetooth Devices
You must first pair the keyboard or headphones with iPad before you can use them.
Pair a Bluetooth device with iPad:
Follow the instructions that came with the keyboard or headphones to make it discoverable.
In Settings, choose General > Bluetooth, and turn Bluetooth on.
Select the keyboard or headphones and if prompted, enter the passkey or PIN number. See the instructions about the passkey or PIN that came with your keyboard or headphones.
AC said it has to be 2007 keyboard or later. That is NOT what the manual says. Further, I told AC that the keyboard pairs fine with my Mini which was purchased earlier this year.
Keep in mind that your credit card company is on your side. I have a Genius Bar appointment Tuesday, April 6. I will ask them to give me a wireless keyboard. If they will not, my next call will be to American Express.

LINKING KAMOR BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD TO IPAD AIR

I have just bought a Kamor bluetooth keyboard for my iPad air but it won't link to my iPad.
My Ipad knows its there as it lists it as a discoverable device.
When I try and link the two it gives me a code to type in but every time I type in the code it tells me the pairing is unsuccessful. it's driving me mad

How can one set up an aluminum apple bluetooth keyboard with an ipad mini and adjust the key repeat rate to never?

Welcome to Apple discussions.
If you are able, do the following:
Be sure the devices are on and discoverable. Make both the devices favorites.
Trash a preference file and restart (com.apple.bluetooth.plist).
If you are unable to do the above or it does not help, return the iMac to an Apple store or call Applecare with a warranty issue.

After I installed the new iOS, my bluetooth keyboard won't work. I have tried absolutely everything - powered everything off, reset all settings, tried re-pairing, with no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?

I would like to use my apple wireless keyboard with my iPad. It works great when I'm typing notes or getting my finals furnished but I want to be able to navigate through the iPad with the keyboard. Like, go to the home screen or choose an app, or use the arrow keys to scroll through options. Possible?? If not, which keyboard would allow me to do that? I just got kensington wireless keyboard for my ipad 2 but the program that i am using dosent allow me to use the function keys instead for volume, brightness ect.

I have had to explain often that no pressure is needed. It's a "touch" screen, not a "press" screen. Most people believe they have to push down hard to make some sort of contact.

Bluetooth keyboard for my ipad 4. To buy or not to buy, that is the question

I need some help. What's up with all the hub bub regarding bluetooth keyboards for ipad?
Is there a real need for one?
Are there power users out there that can enlighten me how having a keyboard for my ipad 4 is better than my stylist or finger?

It depends on the amount of typing you do. There are two advantages, in my opinion, to an external keyboard.
you get the whole screen back (can be annoying typing with half the screen taken up by the keyboard)
You get to touch real keys (easier to do touch typing on a real keyboard than a glass screen)
Ergonomics - you can prop the ipad up at eye level and keep the keyboard at wrist level.
I have a BT keyboard and don't use it often, but for anything longer than a paragraph I find it preferable.

I would echo BGreg's advice and stick to official Apple refurbished Minis sold through the store.apple.com site. They will have a 1-year warranty and be eligible for AppleCare. And they will have current OSX and iLife software.
The term "refurbished" is often abused by other retailers who apply it to used computers that have been returned by unhappy customers -- but have not actually been fully diagnosed or repaired.
The 1.66 GHz model you list is rather long in the tooth. At least get a Core2Duo model, rather than a CoreDuo.

I'd be very leery of buying AppleCare via *bay.
But lacomputercompany appears to sell genuine boxed AppleCare at prices close to Apple's educational price for AppleCare.
On another topic you brought up ... for desktop publishing on a budget I'd strongly endorse SwiftPublisher. Just enough features, just the right price -- and to my mind, works more intuitively than Apple's Pages program.
