SKY Phishing emails received 01/03/15 not from SKY re; Account Update / changing settings

I have received TWO emails this evening purporting to be from SKY asking me to update my details before I lose my Sky email address. The link takes you to a phishing site that looks like a SKY login screen but isn't !! I have reported the emails to both SKY and Google but there will be a number of people caught out by this before the site is taken down. PLEASE BE AWARE of this !!

Thanks for choosing us" Scam and Phishing emails that infect your computers wil often fail to address you by name and use the term Hello as this one does. It is also worth clicking on reply so that you can see who has sent the email. In this case it was shown as coming from [email protected] I also contacted SKY who confirmed that they had not sent me any emails today. I have marked it on my SKY webmail as spam so that if I receive another one then it will go straight into my Spam folder. Please be wary of these scammers.

The outgoing mail server may be rejecting mail from your network address. Typically that happens when your mail service provider is also your ISP, and you connect to it from another network. The SMTP server will allow connections without a password from anywhere, but it will only relay mail from within the ISP's network. It could also be that your account on the server has expired or been suspended.
If you need to send mail from outside your ISP's network, use an independent mail service provider. I don't have a specific recommendation.

I also had this question, and spent time puzzling over it. But here's the answer:
Open the relevant iBook
Click the icon that looks like a 3 line bullett list
Click on Notes
Click on the icon in the top right hand side that looks like a page with an up arrow pointing out of it.
Choose Edit Notes
Select the notes or highlights that you want printing (a tick appears in the circular radio button)
Click SHARE
Choose either Mail or Print
Voila

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you haven't done so already you need to migrate your mail account to iCloud first and do so IMMEDIATELY at the website Move
Then
Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.
Some users have apparently encountered issues using this information in pre-Lion set ups (I haven't), Roger Wilmut has kindly provided instructions for those who find themselves with this problem.

You have to look at the email protocol being used. the Apple email system uses IMAP, does Tinyworld use IMAP or POP?
Does the email system permit delivery receipts to be requested?
Just some of the things one needs to determine from the information provided by the email service provider.

After downloading Safari upgrade 5.0.5 emails prior to 12/2010 disappeared from my hotmail account. How do I restore?

It you are viewing the email from a Mac browser app, then it stands to reason that the email resides on the Microsoft mail server, not on the iMac. If the email is no longer available for viewing, then logically the email has been removed from the server.
The question then is, how are you accessing the email from the Windows machine? Are you also viewing the email from a browser app, such as Internet Explorer, or are you using an email client app? If you are also viewing the email from a browser on the Windows computer, then you have a bit of an enigma, why is the email available for viewing from a Windows browser, and not from a Mac browser? However, if you are using an email client app, such as Entourage, then the email client app has likely been configured to download the email to your Windows box and to then delete the email from the server after having done so.

Thank you for the question. You can export the calendar events from your previous iCloud account and then import them into your new iCloud account.
First, use these steps to export your events from your original account and make note of where you save the file to:
Export a calendar’s events
In Calendar, click the calendar’s name.If you don’t see your calendars, click Calendars.
Choose File > Export > Export.
Choose a location for the file, and then click Export. The events are exported in an iCalendar (.ics) file.
Next, quit the Calendar application, and log out of your original iCloud account in System Preferences > iCloud. Then log in with your new iCloud account and open Calendar. The final step is to import the file into the calendar for your new iCloud account
Use these steps to import the calendar events:
Import events into a calendar
If you want, create a new calendar for the events.Add or delete a calendar
Choose File > Import > Import.
Locate and select the calendar file that contains the events, and then click Import.
Choose the calendar you created or another calendar to add the events to.
You can also drag a .ics file to Calendar. The events in the file are added to the calendar that’s highlighted in the Calendar list.

No, "My Number" was not listed in my Phone menu, I had to manually type it it. Is there a way for that number to automatically be listed in that "My Number" spot? I love my apple email and do not want to use google mail on safari. However, I have 2 gmail accounts set up on apple mail, but when I send mail from one of my gmail accounts (I choose the specific gmail account in the drop down window), it actually goes out as if it is from the other gmail account. I can't have that happen because one is my job, the other is a personal business account and unfortunately, the mail from both gmail accounts want to send through the personal business account. How do I make it send from a specific gmail account? I even tried deleting the accounts and setting them up again hoping I set it up wrong in the first place, but to no avail, it is still doing the same thing except this time I set the job account up first and then the personal business account and now everything goes from the job account! The only good thing is that the incoming messages work properly and they go into the correct inbox. Somebody please fix my outbox!

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account. The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

It won't give me the option to sign out of the old account, it's that light grey color that you can't click on. And since it has the old email address that it's telling me to go into to verify the account, I can't actually change it... I'm stuck

Hopefully you can help me, I have flagged some important emails on my Hotmail email account before I just recently switched to a mac. I have been using the email app for mac instead of going onto Safari and logging in that way since it's more convient BUT I've noticed that my flagged emails from my Hotmail account is not showing up on my 'Flagged' tab on the app, only the ones I've recently flagged.

That's how it works. The messages reside on the server and are read from there by your Mac and iOS device, so deleting a message means deleting it from the server, and obviously it will then disappear on your other devices. Think of it like webmail and it makes sense.
You can move the messages to a local mailbox on your Mac - just create a new mailbox, making sure that it's listed under 'On My Mac' not 'iCloud', and then you can simply drag any messages you want to archive to it. This will copy them down to your Mac and remove them from the server.
