Skype hanging Windows 7 when closing call

Skype locks up after closing a call, freezing the Skype screen. Then a few seconds later Windows locks up completely needing a hard reset. I have managed to run task manager and stop the Skype process but it still locks Windows.
This is not consistent and seems to relate to previous or current video playing or streaming in Chrome but I have not been able to isolate the exact condition, as sometimes nothing else is running and it still locks up WIndows.
As with most issues this as started from Skype version 7 onwards..... This version 7.5.0.102.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

Since the latest update to 7.0.0.102 almost 80% of the time someone tryes to call me their call gets rejected automaticly. I have the latest drivers from my laptop manufacturer for sound. Any ideeas?

Skype hangs up when answered

Everything is fine when I place a call from my android tablet until the person I'm calling answers, then Skype hangs up and says the call failed. This even happens with the Skype test line. This just started happening today. I have used it before with no problems. Any suggestions?

Display popup window when closing "X" web browser

Hi All - how I can display a popup window when user press "X" from web browser.
I know how to create popups windows but where I can code the popup window when the user close the browser?
e.g. I press at the top right the web browser "X" to close the browser, how I can display a popup asking if they want to SAVE the data before closing the browser.

are you sure?
If you close the browser window - even if you have set the portal work protect mode, set the app as dirty and running the app in the portal - the windows closes without any complaint.
If you were in the portal and tried to navigate away from the page, that would be a different thing - but a browser close is just that. You can capture the onUnload event of the browser window (not in WD - but JS) but you have no way of detecting that it is not just a page refresh.
Do a search for "intercepting browser close events" via google etc, to see just how tricky to build a solution would be.
So I'd say - no ability to stop browser close events - or to react to them - but yes to portal navigation type event within the portal. And further to that - I'd suggest using the FPM work protect mode interface to help you take advantage of the Portal work protection.

Visible home window when closing document

Hi,
in Acrobat 11, the application frame with the toolbars, tools, ... was hidden as soon as a document has been closed with CMD + W on the Mac. In Acrobat DC, the Home window appears when closing a document with CMD + W and I need to hit the same again to hide/close the application frame.
How could I revert to the old behavior?

Different skype number displayed when I call my ip...

When I updated my subscription to skype the other day, I wanted to make sure it was running again so I called my own iphone using Skype. But when my iphone rang it displayed a totally different number that was calling: 661-748-0240; it didn't display my skype number.
Now I'm reading that this is a phishing/scam number; apparently it's already infected my skype account. Can anyone help me get rid of it? I DON'T want anyone to think I'm a scammer...

This is a generic caller ID assigned by local telephone companies when caller ID data is either not received or is corrupted in transmission - or the Skype account has no caller ID set. It is not an infection or malware. Skype cannot control caller ID data as it is received by the fixed line or wireless carrier when calls jump from the internet.
A search of this Community by typing that telephone number in the search box at the top of this page will quickly show this is a popular topic!

Adobe Reader for Mac 9.2 hangs up when closing windows

I started having this problem a few weeks ago: Adobe Reader 9.2 for Mac - with my MacBook (May 2006 - intel core duo) running Leopard 10.5.8 when I have 1 or more Adobe Reader "pdf" documents open and I wish to close one by either cmd-w or by clicking on the red close button top left; most if not all of the time the document goes black and the spinning ball of death appears and then either the program shuts down or I have to do a force quit or just quit.
This never happened before-- I could always have from 1 to 20 pdf files open and just cmd-w the one or ones that I wanted to close and no problem they closed and the program was fine.
Is this something new or ??? A bug or ???
Thanks for any comments. I did REINSTALL Adobe 9.2 but same problem. I've done restarts and more. This is the first time I've used this forum so not sure how I will get notified - do I have to recheck here or will I get a notice to my eMail address??

If you subscribed you will get a new email for every post here. Otherwise you have to manually check. What you are seeing is not typical. I'd try the typical troubleshooting techniques.
1) Fixing Permissions.
2) Emptying various system caches.
I'd recommend you get a copy of Applejack. It can do all that and find disk directory issues. Cost is reasonable---free.

Upgraded to 3.6.10 now cannot open a new window, when closing firefox, it hangs and will not reopen without closing firefox via task manager

Since the upgrade (which took many attempts) after about 2-3 clicks, i cannot open new windows. I can open new tabs, but never a new window.

There are crash reports referring to Catalyst Control Center (CCC.exe).
Try to adjust settings in Catalyst Control Center:
- set all options in "Game" menu of Catalyst Control Center to "Application Controlled"
- change the smooth-vision anti-aliasing to use application settings.

Sound and settings not working ("Task Host Window" when closing)

Okay I am not sure where to focus exactly and I am not good at articulating these problems because I don't know much about computers, so I will just try and make a simple list of problems that occured at the exact same time, and therefor must be related:
I had just installed an update which took quite a while.
Every time I close down my computer it says "Task Host Window" has to be shut down. It says underneath (translated from Danish): "Assignment host is stopping background tasks
Sound doesn't work. Not normally or with different speakers or anything like that. The sound icon shows a red circle with an X
Automatic start up programmes such as Dropbox and Sticky Notes don't start up unless I do no manually
Most parts of settings just show blank when I try to access them eg. control panel and parts of PC settings
Saving words documents (I suspect because OneDrive has to be accessed first) is really slow, but once they are saved ctrl+S works like a charm
I have tried:
I heard turning off onedrive would help, but when I go to PC setting -> OneDrive it doesn't respond
I tried a HotFix for Task Host Window but nothing happened
Trouble Shooting the sound by clicking the sound icon (which has a red circle with an X) tells me 'one or more sound services isn't running' and when I click 'see more ways' it goes to a blank site within control panel
I suspect there's some simple way to start the sound manually and it's simply being blocked, and honestly if I could just get it to start manually when I needed it, I could live with all these other problems. The sound is the most important!!

ps. I haven't been able to find my exact operating system and notebook information due to the problems with the settings, but I know it's an EVNY with a sound system by BEATS BY DRE and the operating system is windows 8

Problem report is only thecnical , not explain anything about you particular use , just a guess but report could be exist only for statistic
From your report you use Adobe Photoshop CS5 with Mac OS X 10.7.2 , you may need to update to CS5.5

Can a remote window be closed when the subvi is finished executing?

I am dynamically calling subvi's from a main vi with the but when the remote user closes the browser window, it is causing problems with the connection. I would like to be able to programatically close the web window when the called subvi is done running so that i can ensure that the subvi is done when the window closes. Is there a labVIEW command that can be used here? Close FP and setting the FP:state to closed don't close the remote window. Thank you.

It appears that you are dynamically calling the subvi on a remote machine and you want to close the front panel of the subvi after it is done running on the remote machine.
Make sure that in the subvi, under VI properties>>Window appearance>> Customize, Show Front Panel When Called and Close afterwards if originally closed are both checked. This would close the subvi window when it is done running.

The I4S is frequently hanging when a call is received after updating the Sw to version 8

After updating the Phone Software to version 8 the Instrument I4S hangs frequently when a call is received. You can see who is calling but the touch screen does not respond and only way is to switch off and on.

Make sure that you don't have the Do Not Disturb mode enabled in your device.
Use Control Center and verify that the Moon icon is greyed (not white).
Check as well in Settings > Do Not Disturb > Manual and Scheduled is turned off

E51 hangs when someone calls

Hi.
My e51 is 1.5 year old. Originaly there was fw.:100.xx.x.x. I flashed it to 200.xxx.x.x.x, then to 300.xx.xxx.xx and now there is 400.xx.xx.xx. Then i backup my settings from backup. It restored everything except - google maps and nimbuzz. Everything works quite ok, but it hangs up sometimes when someone calls. It doesn't matter if it is in standby or charging or browsing www via wlan. It just happens. I've updated to newest fw last week and my phone has hanged up for 4 times. It just show "someone" calls and that's it - i cannot pick it up or drop. Only removing battery helps in this case.

What is workaround for this problem? This problem is also active few collegues who has latest fw on their e51.
What i've done:
1) restore to default, reinstall fw, import only contacts.
2)set my phone language to english.
One friend has a problem with earphone and keyboard, so he putted it in service, after that it has latest fw as benefit - and it hangs also, when someone calls. So i think it couldn't be a case of wrong fw upgrade procedure.
Is it possible to downgrade to previous fw:300.xx.xx.x.
