SLD Support

What are the plans to support Styled Layer Descriptor (SLD) of WMS and the (optional) operation request getLegendGraphic specified there?
Thanx in advance for any feedback,
Karin

SLD support is planned for a future release.

  • SLD (CIM) Namespaces

    Hi there,
I have read the SLD documentation which says that 'SLD supports the namespace concept that implements namespaces as logical areas for different purposes'.
To my fully understanding, does that means that I can for instance; define multiple SLD namespaces and use them to implement different virtual system landscapes.
For example, I could use one as test, acceptance and another for production environments...Am I getting the right picture?
If that is the case, then I would like to know how to move/switch from one namespace environment to another without loosing your previous changes, and finally is there a /restriction or maximum number of namespaces that you can declare on your SLD system?
    Thanks for your feedback!
    Rob.

I did some testing of this late last week, and sure enough, you can create landscape entries in alternate namespaces.  (I created one called "sld/sandbox", for example.)
However, entries in my alternate namespace were not accessible in the XI design-time environment.  (There's probably a setting buried somewhere, but that should indicate that the intent is to put the entire landscape in a single namespace.)
One thing to be mindful of is how this will all tie in to CMS for managing the configuration across platforms.  Right now, it looks like CMS will rely on dev/test/prod landscapes being in a single (or mirrored) SLD, and the migration path (dev, test, or prod) will be defined in the "Transport target" groups in the SLD.  Since it looks like those entries can't be linked across namespaces -- at least in XI -- you run a risk of creating problems down the road.  Of course, I haven't actually seen CMS yet; this is just extrapolation of the management components that SAP has already built in to the SLD.

  • Solution Manager 7.1 Upgrade: Problems during LMDB Setup

    Hi,
we upgraded our Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 development system to 7.1 SPS3 (including all new sap notes).
During solman_setup we get the following error at -> System Preparation -> 6 Prepare Landscape -> 6.4 Set up LMDB:
    No such namespace: "active"
Due to this error it is not possible to add a synchronization connection between our local SLD and LMDB, because there's no target namespace!
Does anyone know how to add the namespace "active" ??
    Greetz
    André Richter

Make sure that your SLD meet the requirements:
    SAP NetWeaver Release
The following table gives an overview of the SAP NetWeaver versions for an LMDB-compatible SLD, and whether, and since when (which support package stack), an SLD satisfies the minimum requirements for LMDB:
    SAP NetWeaver Release (SLD)
    Supported Support Package Stack Level
    SAP NetWeaver 6.40
    not supported
    SAP NetWeaver 7.0
    not supported
    EHP1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0
    not supported
    EHP2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0
    SP6, patch 5
    SAP NetWeaver 7.1
    SP9
    EHP1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.1
    all SPs
    SAP NetWeaver 7.2
    all SPs
    SAP NetWeaver 7.3
    all SPs
If you cannot give your central SLD a required status, you can use another SLD which does satisfy the minimum requirements (e.g. the SAP Solution Manager SLD), and fill it with the data from your central SLD, using SLD bridge functionality.
    Model and CR Content
The CIM model and SAP CR content requirements are:
 CIM model 1.6.16 or higher
 Newest SAP CR CONTENT, at least version 7.0
For more information about updating CR content, see SAP Note 669669.

  • Getting error while importing CRDelta file into SLD

When we are applying SAP Note 669669 - Importing delta in SLD we are getting the below mentioned error message.
"The selected aggregate import is not applicable to the current version SAP_CR2.0 of the target namespace"
We are trying to import the zip file CRDelta1511_0-10004549.ZIP.
However we were successfully able to import the cimsap1511_0-10004549.zip into the SLD successfully.
We are doing this import activity (upgrading the SLD) as we are unable to locate the ESS related mandatory Software Component EP_BUILDT in the current SLD version.
    Waiting for a quick response
    Regards,
    Narpal

    Hello Sihag,
No matter what product version we choose it throws the same error.
But when I give Integration process(in the same software component where the integration scenario) for the application component and then creating it works.
Afterwards I removed the integration process from application system, and its not throwing any error when i check (F7) in Integration scenario.
907897 - Check this before you import
Before you upgrade to the model version 1.5, check which version is currently imported in the SLD Web UI (Administration -> Details). If the current version is lower than 1.4.30, import model 1.4.x (x must be 30 or higher) before updating to model version 1.5. You can find this version on SAP Service marketplace under SAP MASTER DATA FOR SLD 2.0, "SAP CIM model 1.4 Support Package 08". Version Support Package 18 already contains the data for the conversion to Version 1.5.
Do let me know if your problem is getting resolved.
    Thank you.

  • Support desk queries on solution manager

    Hi All
I have few queries on solution manager support desk functionality.
1.Is this the only way to create support desk message HELP-CREATE support desk Message from each individual system??
2.In our scenario, when we are creating the message we would like to assign component( it should be project specific component, not SAP specific component)...How to acieve this??
3.We have a requirement where the message has lot of status and fields and depending on the message processor I would like to control which status or field user should be able to view and work on...how to achieve this??
4.Need the way to send a message to the processor,as soon as his name appear as message processor.
5.I want to track all the persons involved in the message processing, how can I do this??
6.I want to use a different transaction type not the standard SLFN,so what configurations are needed??When I create a message it should automatically take properties of transaction type of newly created one??

    Hello Dolores,
first of all thanks for that answer. I read it in the germany documentation help.
    Here an extract:
    +Anlegen von Support-Meldungen über NOTIF_CREATE
Mit der Transaktion NOTIF_CREATE können Benutzer, die in Satellitensystemen arbeiten, Meldungen anlegen und an den SAP Solution Manager versenden.
    Vorgehensweise
    Starten Sie Transaktion NOTIF_CREATE.
Geben Sie folgende Werte im Dialogfenster Anlegen einer Support Meldung ein:
    Priorität
    System/IBase-Komponente
    Kurz- und Langtext
Um Anlagen anzuhängen, wählen Sie Registerkarte Anlagen.
    Sichern Sie Ihre Eingaben.
    Ergebnis
    Sie haben eine Support-Meldung angelegt.+
Yesterday I search the internet for a note, but I didn't find one. So I'am happy now.
But now the next problem occurs. My next issue is about the SLD. The system cannot get the data from the satellites. I'am not sure, but I think our SLD isn't perfectly configuried. Do you have an "How To" or something like that?

  • Error while updatig SAP Component Repository in SLD

We are getting the following error while updatig SAP Component
    Repository in SLD:
"The import history of the target namespace could not be determined".
We are in the middle of updating SAP CR in SLD from version 2.0 to
    version 3.0.
Before updating CR this morning, our 'model version' was 1.4.31 and
CR Content Version (sld/active):No versioned CR imports detected was
    defined.
I imported the Model version 1.5.20 using 'cimsap1418_0-10003379.zip'
and while importing the delta 'CRDELTA1418_0-10003379.zip', we are
    getting the above mentioned error.
Pls help us to resolve this problem as we took the shutdown time from
business to update the CR in XPD server.
    Thanks
    Amar

To upgrade from SAP MASTER DATA FOR SLD 2.0 to SAP CR CONTENT UP TO 2007 (technical version is 3.0), you are required to perform the following steps:
    1. Import the last delta from 2.0. This comprises model 1.5.20 (cimsap1418_...zip) and the content delta (CRDelta1418_...zip). Before you import the new model, check the parameter RejectUnsupportedCIMQualifiers and the existing model version.  Proceed according to Note 907897.
In 6.40 and 7. 0 Support Package 0 - Support Package 9, the import of the model (file cimsap....zip) takes 30-60 minutes. As of Release 7.0 Support Package 10, the import requires less than 1 minute.
    2. You can obtain the next update from SAP CR CONTENT UP TO 2007 (3.0).

  • SLD in SAP XI

    Hi
I am planning to isntall XI. Can anybody tell me the special considerations while installing. I do not have separate SLD Configured.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
SLD is system landscape directory and it contains all the Technical system and Businsess System of your XI system.
Go through the below link for SLD preparation for your XI system:
    u may refer:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/9e76e511-0d01-0010-5c9d-9f768d644808
SLD Steps for starting a XI project
    Configuration Steps
The configuration steps that you need to perform depend on the type of system. The following system types are relevant for the SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD):
    · SAP technical systems
The following SAP systems do not need to be configured manually since they automatically register themselves in the SLD:
¡ SAP Basis systems as of Release 4.0B
¡ All SAP Web AS ABAP systems
¡ SAP Web AS Java systems as of Release 6.40
You do not need to maintain data about SAP software components and products that a system contains since their data already exists in the component repository, which is delivered with the SLD. SAP technical systems automatically register themselves and report data about their installed products to the SLD by means of data supplier programs. However, if you cannot use the data supplier programs (if your Support Package level is too low, for example), you have to define SAP technical systems manually. For more information, see Manually Registering SAP Web AS ABAP Systems.
Other SAP systems (business systems, for example), which have to be registered manually.
    · Third-party systems
If you have installed third-party (technical or business) systems in your system landscape, you have to register them manually in the SLD. This includes maintaining data about the software components and software products that they contain.

  • SLD - Logical System Management

    Hi,
We are implementing XI and we have the problem with SLD logical system management. The problem is that we use the same Logical system name (Ex. PRDclnt350) for all the systems to avoid running lengthy BDLS process when we hook our R3 systems to their respective BW systems.
Can you please suggest how we take care of this in XI -SLD landscape as it requires unique logical system names for each Business System when maintaining in SLD.
Can we have multiple SLDs and will it take care of the issue. If so can we take one of them as the master SLD and the rest as slave SLDs. What would be the best practices for synchronizing them. Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards..
    Haritha

    Hi All,
We opened an OSS note with SAP regarding this. Please see the question we asked and the response we got from them regarding the SLD maintenance:
    Hi,
We are on BW 3.5 and SAP ERP 5.0. We are implementing XI now. So we
need to configure SLD and register our Business systems. The problem is
we have the concept of using the same logical system for all our SAP
systems, say WRPCLNT750, when we are hooking our systems to their
respective BW systems. And in SLD, we have problem becuase of this, as
it recommends to have unique logical system name for each Business
    System being registered.
We want to mention some points in here about our landscape and some of
the recommendations we got from SAP regarding this. Ours is a very big
warehouse system and in order to avoid the lengthy "BDLS" runs, SAP
recommended using the same Logical System name for all the SAP systems.
Hence we are using the same logical system name for our systems.
So now coming to our problem, can you please tell us what would be the
best practice that needs to be followed now for SLD Business System
registration. How can we overcome the hurdle of NOT having a unique
logical system name for our systems in central System Landscape
    Directory.
Please let us know the solution as early as possible.
    Thanks and regards..
    Haritha.
    The Response:
    Hello Haritha
I have found some pass cases with the same question that you have,
however, the replies from developer are as below.
Logical systems cannot be duplicated within the SLD, that means one
Business System per Logical System name, both need to be unique, the SLDis working a designed here.
I would suggest you rename one of the copies of the productive system
    to solve this.
My apology that I couldn't provide you a better answer for this.
    Thanks & Best Regards
