Slider issue firefox, opera, & IE not chrome

Okay all,
this is an update to my last post about this slider issue. I'm hoping someone out there can take mercy on me and help because I'm stumped. The issue with the slider is that it's not rendering properly in firefox, opera, or IE ... Chrome renders it just fine.
http://www.don-robertos.com/
The issue seems to me to be with <div class="mask"> and <div class="slide"> --> the slides and the mask are both rendering at 19px instead of max-width:970px. The images are computing at the full width ... but I can't seem to figure out why the mask and slides are rendering at this size. Here is a code snippet.
... <div class="cycle-gallery gallery-js-ready">
<div class="cycle-gallery-holder">
<div class="gallery-holder">
<div class="mask">
<div class="slideset" style="position: relative; height: 562px; margin-left: -19px">
<div class="slide" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; width: 19px; left: 38px">
<div class="slide" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; width: 19px; left: -9999px">
<div class="slide" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; width: 19px; left: 0px">
<div class="slide active" style="position: absolute; top: 0px; width: 19px; left: 19px">
</div> ...
My sanity will thank you!
Anne

When I tested this in Firefox I saw there was a problem but only in the desktop view-- if I shrunk my browser window to a tablet or phone view it was working fine.  For some reason your slider script is thinking the width of your slider should be 15px... it probably derives the width of your slides from the styles set for your content so you should try to set a "width" on your gallery image for the desktop view.  If you set it at line 84 of your all.css file it shouldn't interfere with the media query that serves the width up for smaller screens which is on line 807.  Try setting a width on ".cycle-gallery img" on line 84 to 970px.

  • Javascript (or some plugin) issues present in Firefox 8 but not Chrome.

    Not sure if this is a Javascript issue or what, but here are some of my issues:
    * Facebook: cannot close notification tab after I open it.
    * Tumblr: cannot expand images in posts on my dashboard; preexisting text in forms (such as the tags form when making a new post) does not go away. This "typeover" error exists on other pages as well.
    * Reddit: cannot enter the subreddit in a post; logging in from the main page results in error
    This hasn't been a persistent problem; it just started today. I tried reinstalling Firefox and restarting my computer, but the issues are still present.
    I don't have any of these problems in Chrome. Is this an issue Javascript and/or other plugins? When I disable Javascript, these problems don't exactly go away - the aforementioned features just don't work.

    Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
    ''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4.0+ SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
    ''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
    ''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
    '''''If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • Another HDR Pro Issue (The operation could not be completed.)

    HDR Pro worked about three weeks ago. An Adobe update came out maybe a week or two ago that  may have broken the functionality of HDR Pro for me.
    http://i.imgur.com/LIvpLjn.jpg
    I have Googled around quite a bit and not found this particular issue, or a solution crop up. Following several posts on the forum following this format:
    Here are some suggestions to work around the issue. In the meantime, we'll work on helping XP-32 & Photoshop play nicely.
    Try a different memory setting (65%-ish. Try to give Photoshop ~1G and leave the rest to the system). Restart.
    Quit unnecessary applications.
    Try quitting Bridge and running Merge to HDR from File > Automate > Merge to HDR
    Other things to test out in the Performance Preference panel
              •  Try a larger or the largest Tile Size - you've got it set to smallest. Not sure which is better for this case.
              •  Try lowering History States to 5.  Other, less likely, suspects:
    Corrupt prefs: Reset preference file.
    Same-named drive: Be sure there is no other directory is named identically to a folder in the Photoshop app path.
    Conflict with "Open Documents as Tabs = OFF" Prefrence (Interface) setting.
    I can say that it is not an issue with memory, applications, Bridge (not used), too small of a tile size, history state (lowered to 5, increased to 53...), removed and recreated prefs, naming conflict, or a tab issue (tried both on and off). I have tried every permutation under the graphics processor settings. I have even done a 'hard reset' or whatever by ctrl/shift/alt clicking the executable on launch. HDR Pro will not work in the 32-bit version of CS6, either.
    Again, HDR Pro worked perfectly on 5/14. Since then the only changes to the system have come from Adobe (whatever was updated recently), and the infamous Patch Tuesday. Even previously-merged images fail to merge now.
    Thanks.

  • My iWeb site loads in Safari, but not in Firefox, Opera, Chrome. Why?

    I built my homepage with iWeb.
    I am hosting over Mobile Me.
    My Domain name is registered at Godaddy.
    My site was online for the longest time. Now I did some changes and uploaded the site again.
    With Safari, I can access my homepage.
    Not so with Firefox, Opera, Chrome...
    What could be the reason for this?
    Thanks in advance!

    I am a little bit smarter now:
    When I use the full url, it is working in Safari and Chrome too.
    http://www.jaspergranderath.com/Cinematographer/Home.html
    This wasn't neccessary earlier...
    How do I manage that people can access my site with just going for
    www.jaspergranderath.com

  • Preview a .dwt in Chrome or Firefox shows code not a preview, why?

    I use a template .dwt file which I used to be able to preview in Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari just  to check all would look OK.
    Last week I made some changes to the master .dwt file and now Chrome, Firefox and Opera display the html code and Safari displays nothing. IE displays the web page.
    If I create a new page from the master .dwt and preview that, it works OK
    I have validated the master .dwt and W3C reports no errors, I have also checked the style sheets and they also get passed as OK.
    I must have something in the .dwt file that is wrong but I can't see it.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks
    Derek

    Hi Jon,
    Here it is there are some style sheets to go with it, can post them if needed.
    Thanks

    Danke. Leider weiß ich auch nicht warum die Animation bie mir falsch angezeigt wird. Aber ich bin beruhigt das es wohl scheinbar funktioniert. also muss das Problem irgendwo bei mir liegen. Ich werde alles nochmal prüfen.
    Thank you. Unfortunately, I do not know why the animation is displayed bie me wrong. But I am reassured that it seems to work well. So the problem must lie somewhere with me. I'll check everything again.

  • The operation can not be completed because of an internal failure. A secure network communication has not been cleaned up correctly ... Iget this message when closing firefox. It obviously has been a problem in the past but I'm using FF 6

  • Hi all, I've got very unpleasant  issue with my iPhone 4s on ios 5.1 - it can automatically turn on the 3G even if my local operator does not have the 3g coverage. What I should do to solve this problem? (p.s. even want to jail it!!!))

    Hi!
    I've got very unpleasant issue with my IPhone 4s, it can automaticaly turn on the 3G even if my local mobile operator does not have 3G coverage.
    I hate it, 'cause my battery dies in a couple of hours. How can I solve this problem. It is very annoying. I just thinking about jailing!!!
    Thanks in advance.

    There are NO carriers that legitimately offer the iPhone in Ukraine according to this list: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937
    I'm not talking about carriers that support 3G, I'm talking about AUTHORIZED iPhone carriers. There is NO SUPPORT available for iPhones on networks other than those who are authorized BY APPLE to carry the iPhone.
    The iPhone should work with any compatible GSM carrier. If your carrier is not on the list I linked to, you will have to work with them to resolve any problems. There is nothing else anyone can do for you.

  • Jquery slider and effects works slow in firefox in comparision with Chrome and IE.

    I am working on HTML conversion of a website and following all the standards. But the jquery banners and sliders are working very slow in Firefox in comparison with Chrome and IE. I tested it on different servers, but result is same.

    A good place to ask advice about web development is at the MozillaZine "Web Development/Standards Evangelism" forum.

  • Swf link not working in Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer but works in Safari

    Hi,
    I'm sorry but Im a real newbie and really need help!!!
    On the homepage of my website I have put a swf file that I linked to another page in my website through the div a href link and it displays great on safari and links, however in other browsers, when i try to click on it, it comes up with the link at the bottom of the browser (where it sometimes says Done), however it doesnt actually link, it jsut stays on the homepage.
    Here is the coding i put in:
    <div id="products2">
              <p>
              <a href="Our_brands/index.html">
                <script type="text/javascript">
    AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0','wid th','449','height','449','title','Products','src','Productions/boxes3','quality','high','p luginspage','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=Shockwav eFlash','movie','Productions/boxes3' ); //end AC code
              </script>
                <noscript>
                <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0" width="449" height="449" title="Products">
                  <param name="movie" value="Our_brands/boxesnew.swf" />
                  <param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="SCALE" value="noborder" />
                  <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/>
                  <embed src="Our_brands/boxesnew.swf" width="449" height="449" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowScriptAccess="always" scale="noborder"></embed>
                  <br />
                  <br />
                </object>
                </noscript>
              </a>
              </p>
            </div>
    Could someone please tell me where I am going wrong?
    I would REALLY appreciate it.
    Thank you in advance!!

    I'm doing it for a client and they dont want it put up on the server yet, I wish I could put it up bc I have no idea what I'm doing!
    Basically I wanted a swf file from Flash to display a range of products (I have turned all the products into buttons) and then I put coding into all the buttons to on release getURL which work in the swf file, however when I put the swf file into dreamweaver, the buttons worked in hover state, but the action scripting didn't work to link the swf file to another page in the website (the index in Our_brands folder).
    So i decided to make it link to the index.html in Our_brands folder from wrapping the swf box in a div tag and linking the div tag <a href="Our_brands/index.html"> which links it great in Safari but wont link in Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer.
    Does that make any sense?
    Sorry if it doesn't.
    Thanks for the quick reply as well!!!

  • Whenever I open pdf file link in net shows a message box Acrobat plug-in and message as "This operation is not allowed" and after firefox getting crashed. I observed twice

    I'm replying to this old thread for anyone looking for this problem in the future ( like I did ).
    The problem for me was that the original .pdf had a single blank comment in it.
    I opened it in Acrobat pro, deleted the comment, saved, opened it in livecycle, changed the illustration ( or whatever you had to change in the first place ), save it again, opened it in Acrobat and save for Reader Extended PDF.
    It now works
    PS: nice job Adobe with useless error messages. Just saying "Comments are not allowed" instead of "This operation is not permitted" would have saved countless hours to countless people.

  • [Exception... "Operation is not supported" code: "9" nsresult: "0x80530009 (NS_ERROR_DOM_NOT_SUPPORTED_ERR)" location: "resource://greasemonkey/runScript.js Line: 29"]

    I have written a [https://gist.github.com/1524256 userscript], and run it in GreaseMonkey 0.9.13.
    If i remove the only try..catch block(line 54-66) but keep the code inside it, it will throw exceptions like below:
    uncaught exception: [Exception... "Operation is not supported" code: "9" nsresult: "0x80530009 (NS_ERROR_DOM_NOT_SUPPORTED_ERR)" location: "resource://greasemonkey/runScript.js Line: 29"]
    However, stripped scripts run well in Chrome w/o any problems.
    However, it will '''NOT''' print anything into console, which means codes in try block don't throw exception if wrapped by try block.
    Can you guys tell me why it works?

    It is a known issue (see [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=601803 bug 601803]). It is fixed in Firefox 4.0b8 that is going to be released in a few days.
