Slow HTTPS

I have a CSS11506 with an SSL module loaded. The CSS is gigabit trunked to an L2 switch.
Load balancing the web servers, running on port 80, is working fine with standard HTTP. Once enabling SSL on the CSS and trying to access the service via HTTPS, the access becomes slow (two or three times slower than HTTP.)
I have double checked the configuration and it is fine.
Has anyone faced the same before?

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I'm having the exact same problem on our 11503. Anything going through https is loading considerably slower than through http.
If I compare https through the content switch with https directly from the web servers, the web servers are much faster.
Did you ever find a soultion to this?
Has anybody else experienced this before?

  • Slow HTTPs response time through CSS after applying KB2585542 to windows client

Anyone else having issues with HTTPS sites being very slow after applying KB2585542?   Once you remove this Microsoft patch everything returns to normal.   It appears that the CSS does not handle the split-ssl requests properly.  I have opened a TAC case but am not really getting anywhere as we seem to be the only company that is having this issue.

  • Slow http post / unable to post large files

We have a configuration with ASA 5520 in release 7.1.2. A Web Server on the DMZ. On the Web Server we can post file through a http connection on the Web server, in this http connection we select the file to upload from the http client to the Web Server.
The upload work for very small files, but not for files that have more than 100Kb. On the logs I don't see any errors, I just see that the Web Server IP with source port 80 build a connection to the client, and teardown after few minutes.
    Any idea ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi.
The ASA will either pass or drop the packet. It will not queue the packet. The only reason can be "ident" protocol. You need to check two things.
    1. Some http servers require that the originating client ip should have a proper in.arpa record. You can do this by doing a
    nslookup initiating the request.
    2. Some http servers try to identify the userid of the process that initiated this request. This is called IDENT protocol. If this is the case, you should see a teardown on port 113. If you see something like this then issue the command
    service resetinbound outside

I do have the same problem indeed, and noticed some interesting details.
In my home I used to share a PPPoE/Ethernet connection through my iMac. It puts my Macbook, iPhone and my gf's PC online.
After upgrading to Lion however, it puts none of them online.
If I change the  "Share your connection from" option to one of my VPNs, I can get online with my Macbook, but not my iPhone or my gf's PC.
Apart from that, it doesn't work no matter how many times I change password, channel, or other options.
Hope Apple comes up with a solution before next working week starts!

  • Slow HTTPS site

One HTTPS site (Member.ghc.org) preforms very slowly(60-90 sec page loads) and submitting a long form dumps me back to the login screen. This works the same in Safari and Firefox. I have NetBarrier4 (10.4.3) installed. This site is listed as trusted and banners are turned off. A PC on the same router, DSL modem and IP works fine in both Firefox and IE. Any suggestions as to cause and cure?

Just ensure that the service account that you use to trigger the Powershell scripts has access to IIS and SharePoint.  Most often, the SharePoint Farm account would be used for scheduling the warm up scripts on the WFE server.
I trust that answers your question...

  • MBP retina slow HTTP

Hi, anyone else having problems with MBPr wifi interface for HHTP traffic?
I'm running mountain lion on a 16GB ram MBPr and the HHTP traffic is unbelievably slow. My internet connection is 16Mbit full duplex and ohter protocols as ICMP, RTP and SIP are OK (Skype works). Also, trying with Chrome, Safari or Firefox did not help me.
According to "Network Utilities", my signal-noise  rayio is around 23.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Tkm

I did a test on a fresh MBP retina.
At the very beginning, it shuts down in 2 seconds.
After I installed the antivirus software, McAfee VirusScan for Mac V9.1, it needs 20-22 seconds to shut down.
It seems that the antivirus software is making the final check when turns off.
I uninstalled the antivirus sofware. The time for shut down still remains similar. I guess there must be some residue profile left.
Then if I want to restore to 2-3 shut down time ,maybe I need to press command +R to reinstall.

  • Safari http network initial requests is slow

    Hi everyone,
Have anyone noticed a initial slow http request taking about 10 sec. to connect to a website? My connection is DSL and I am trying to debug the network to find out what is(are) the issue(s).
    Thanks for your feedback.
    Eduardo
PS: If I try with the same Safari and Netscape Mozilla connecting to other web sites besides Apple and some other vendors, the page download at the "speed of a bullet."
    Safari Version 2.0.1 (412.5)

Then try this. Open System Preferences->Network pane and click on your current connection (under Airport) and then turn off the Airport card. Then at the top of the pane you will see the "location" drop-down. Use that drop-down to create a new "Custom Location". Don't worry, it will act actually like 'Automatic'. Then after making the new Custom Location look at the bottom of the Network pane for the 'Apply' button. Click on this to save your new Location. Then rejoin your wireless network again. See if this helps, Good Luck.

  • Oracle HTTP Server download bandwidth limited on Windows 2003 Server

    Hi,
we have an ApEx application with the following configuration on the server:
    OS: Windows 2003 Server 64Bit
    DB: 10.2.0.3 64bit
HTTP Server: the one that comes on the companion CD of Oracle DB 10g 32 bit
and after the bandwidth in the datacenter where the server resides was increased, I discovered a problem related to the server download bandwidth. I found on Metalink a Note [568075.1 - HTTP Server File Download Speed Is Slow |https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=568075.1] , but unfortunately not a very clear resolution given the fact that we use Oracle DB SEOne, so options 1 & 2 will involve additional licenses costs.
I tried option 3 suggested in the note by using the HTTP Server that comes with 11g (I assume this is a supported configuration also from licenses point of view HTTP Server from 11g on top of Oracle DB 10g) and I got a boost in performance but the bandwidth is still 70% compared to the bandwidth I get when downloading from the IIS on the same server.
Has anyone went through this exercise and found a solution for fully using the server bandwidth without needing to go for option 4 in the note, using Linux :), as in our case this will involve again additional licenses and/or hardware costs as the HTTP Server that comes with the DB has to be installed on the machine where the DB is installed?
    Thanks in advance,
    Florin

Ooops ... things like this happen with Oracle Support, no answer?
Can you tell me anyway the SR number or the SR title so that I can write it in the SR I make? Like that maybe Oracle Support will work harder on the case, as there are more customers hitting the same problem.
Anyway in the meanwhile, I run some tests with the original Apache and this one works like a charm even in Windows 2003 Server. What remains now to be done is to use the Open Source Apache as proxy to the HTTP Server, as it looks like it handles much better the static content, it supports also mod_gzip or mod_deflate, but does not support mod_plsql :(. So I think the combination of the two: will do the work for me, but it is really a pity that I have to configure 2 web servers because the HTTP Server has flaws in it :(. Hopefully these will be fixed soon

  • Slow Files Copy File Server DFS Namespace

I have two file servers running on VM both servers are on different physical servers.
    Both connect with dfs namespace.
The problem part is both servers never have same copy speed.
Sometime very slow files copy about 1MBps on FS01 and fast copy 12MBps on FS02.
Sometime fast on FS01 and slow on FS02.
    Sometime both of them slow..
So as usual I reboot the servers. Doesn't work.
Then I reboot the DC01 also doesn't work. There is another brother DC02.
After I reboot DC02, one of the FS become normal and another FS still slow.
FS01 and FS02 randomly. They never get faster speed together.
Users never complain slow FS because 1MBps is acceptable for them to open word excel etc.,.
The HUGE problem is I don't have backup when the slow FS days.
The problem since two weeks I'm giving up fixing it myself and need help from you expert guys.
    Thanks!

Since the slow copy is also occurred when you tried the direct copy from both shared folder, you could enable the disk write cache on the destination server to check the results.

  • Browser based InfoPath Forms in SharePoint 2010 performance has slowed down after SharePoint 2010 SP2

    hi All,
Our Browser based Infopath forms have slowed down drastically after applying SharePoint 2010 SP2. Prior to this, we had SharePoint 2010 SP1 and the timings was around 10 seconds (single user) for the entire infopath form to be displayed which has 10-12
views and 5 data connections and 15 business rules and around 100 fields.
But now after applying sharepoint 2010 sp2, the performance has slowed down and it now takes for a single user around 50 seconds.
Refer to the link below, which we followed by applying the patch as well, but the performance is still the same very slow.
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/0b673324-01c4-49f7-86cb-647aa43fefd6/infopath-browser-forms-extremely-slow-after-service-pack-2-upgrade?forum=sharepointadminprevious
We have raised a ticket with Microsoft, but there is no concrete resolution as to what component of the infopath has made the form rendering and display slow.
Can someone point me to the right resource or knowledge base where i can do a kind of debug, which tells me exactly which infopath dlls are the issue or which part of my form is taking more time. I am using AOLPageTest and Fiddler, but they do not give me
any details where exactly is the bottleneck.
Any tools that give me the details of the bottleneck.
Thanks and appreciate your help in this.
    Regards
    Ram
    Thanks Ram

    hi inderjeet,
The application has gone live and its on production, the same application is on pre-prod and UAT, system testing and integration environments.
The infopath form used to work very well on all these environments before we installed sharepoint 2010 sp2. but the moment we installed sharepoint 2010 sp2, the infopath forms have slowed down.
Microsoft has acknowledged that there is an issued with sharepoint 2010 sp2 and infopath form performance, but they are not able to provide an appropriate fix on this.
We have another environment where there is no sharepoint 2010 sp2 applied only sp1 is applied and the infopath form works very well within fraction of seconds.
So your point no. 1 and 2 and 3. does not reveal anything. Fiddler does not give any detailed component by component breakup where the time is taking more.
The form used to work very well before we applied sp2.
I want to know a tool that gives me exactly component by component grant chart kind of breakup of time taken when the infopath url is requested on the browser.
    Thanks
    ram
    Thanks Ram

  • Why is Indesign CS5.5 Sooooo Slow When it Goes to Deeeper of the Document

    Hi all,
I've got a question recently in using Indesign CS5.5 on a MacbookPro with i7 processor, 8GB RAM and MacOS LION 10.7.2. The interaction turns to be extremely slow when I go deeper of the document. The response is quick at the beginning of the document, but when I turn to 15 pages or later, it takes several seconds to change font and adjust the text frame. I have almost tried all the solutions including readjust the virtual memory or shut down other applications while editing my Indesign file, but it just keeps performing this way.
Is there anyone who has the same problem with me? I hope I can get some useful suggestions from you guys. Thanks!
