Slow updating of display

I'm using PCI-6025E board, doing a multiple analog acquisition, follow by some analysis of the acquired data. however i'm getting some strange response.
1. my vi takes longer to run when i'm displaying graphs, why is this so? how can i shorten the execution time of my vi.
2. When i first open the vi, the vi takes only around 15sec to complete the execution. however, when i tried to execute the same vi to process the same data again, it take around 45sec. why is this so? How can i remedy the problem? (Shortest execution time is only acheived when i closed and re-open the vi again before running)
thks & best regards
lyn

You have described what sounds like an accumulation of data issue.
I can only guess that your data is pilling up somewhere.
If you post your code we may be able to spot something that you have over-looked.
Re:taking more time when displaying using a graph. Depending on the size of the graph object, a lot of CPU could be required to do the dispaly work.
Things that can slow down graphs are;
Updating to often
using auto-scale with every update
using "smooth updates"
Dashed plot lines
"step interpolation"
This is just a short list off the top of my head.
Like I said, post your code, the wizards on this list seldom fail (have they ever?).

  • My performance is very slow when I run graphs. How do I increase the speed at which I can do other things while the data is being updated and displayed on the graphs?

I am doing an an aquisition and displaying the data on graphs. When I run the program it is slow. I think because I have the number of scans to read associated with my scan rate. It takes the number of seconds I want to display on the chart times the scan rate and feeds that into the number of samples to read at a time from the AI read. The problem is that it stalls until the data points are aquired and displayed so I cannot click or change values on the front panel until the updates occur on the graph. What can I do to be able to help this?

Try forcing the 2nd GPU using GFX CardStatus.

The easiest way to turn off the zoom accessibility feature is to connect your phone to iTunes on your computer.  In the Summary pane, click the "Configure Universal Access..." button.  On the next screen, under "Seeing", select "Neither" and click OK.

  • MS Access 2013 - There isn't enough free memory to update the display

In Office 2013, in MS Access, I have only created a few Linked tables & queries, but encountered the following error:
"There isn't enough free memory to update the display. Close unneeded programs and try again"

    Hi,
In regarding of the issue, please provide us more information to assist you better.
Did the error message pop-up with the special Access database or the some other databases?
If it only happened with the special Access database, it might be caused by the database damaged. Please try to Compact and Repair feature mentioned in the following article:
    https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Compact-and-repair-a-database-6ee60f16-aed0-40ac-bf22-85fa9f4005b2
Then, we also might check the Linked tables & queries of database, it also might cause this issue. Or you could upload a sample here via OneDrive.
If the other database also has the issue, please try the method in that

Any ideas as to what may be causing this problem? My mac is only a few months old and is one of the latest models.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

The next time you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select

  • Slow update of shared variables on RT (cRIO) after building exe

    Hi,
I've been struggling with this for the past few days.  I am having a problem with slow updating of shared variables on my RT project....but only after building the application into exe's.
The application consists of an RT target (cRIO 9073) sampling inputs at a rate of 1sec.  I have a host PC running the front panel that updates with the new acquired values from the cRIO.  These values are communicated via shared variables.
Once the cRIO samples the inputs, it writes the values to the shared variables, and then flags the data as 'ready to be read' using a boolean shared variable flag.  The hostPC polls this boolean shared variable and updates the indicators on the front panel accordingly.
Now, this worked fine during development, but as soon as I built the RT exe and host exe's, it stopped working properly and the shared variables ended up being updated very slowly, roughly 2-3sec update time.
To give you some more background:
    I am running the Labview 2010 v10.0.
I am deploying the shared variable library on the RT device (as the system must work even without the hostPC).  I have checked that its deploying using Distributed System Manager, as well as deploying it into the support directory on the cRIO and not the exe itself.
I have also disabled all firewalls and my antivirus, plus made sure that the IP's and subnets are correct and its DNS Server address is set to 0.0.0.0.
There are 25 shared variables all in all, but over half of those are config values only used once or twice at startup.  Some are arrays, plus I dont have any buffering and none of them are configured as RT FIFO's either.
The available memory on the cRIO is about 15MB minimum.
What strikes me is that it works fine before building exe's and its not like the cRIO code is processor intensive, its idleing 95% of the time.

Thats exactly what I'm saying, it takes 2-3seconds to update the values.
I have tried taking out the polling on the PC side, and registered an event on the changing of that shared variable and that doesn't do anything to change the slow update time.  Even if I stop the PC, and just monitor the shared variables in DSM it updates slowly.
I also tried utilising the "flush shared variables" vi to try to force the update....that does nothing.
I wire all the error nodes religously. Still no luck.
Its very strange, I'm not too sure whats happening here.  These things should be able to update in 10ms.

  • Latest update and display changes

after the latest update my display changed to higher resolution and when I go inot the preference pane I only show two available resolutions.
What can I do to fix this
    Thank you for any help

I tried adjusting the value of layout.css.devPixelsPerPx but that did not help. The only thing that temporarily fixed my display issues was to close Firefox- at that point the screen blacked out and reappeared in full view. As soon as I open Firefox the screen blacks out and reappears showing only a portion of my desktop and all the icons not visible are no longer clickable because the mouse cursor can't reach them.

  • Console Slowness and Not Displaying Content When Maximized

System Center Service Manager 2012 R2
When working in a maximized SCSM 2012 R2 console the content for an incident or service offering or other forms in the product don't display their content correctly. Also, when interacting and typing within the forms it becomes very slow.  I've seen
this behavior across multiple SCSM 2012 and later implementations.  The only fix seems to be minimizing the console and working through a minimized window.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue and has anyone submitted the bug to Microsoft so it gets resolved?

This is a known issue and Microsoft is aware of it.  It's the implementation of the console that has a problem with a maximized window.  Nobody has stated they are working to correct it, so I assume it would require a massive overhaul of the console.
I am hoping for a web-based console, I think that will solve a lot of the current problems we have with SCSM.  There are 3rd parties that make some good ones if you have money to spend.
The scsm team has confirmed they are working on this and other fixes to be released in next update rollup which should arrive sometime in or around April.

  • Does 'software update' also update the display drivers?

Does the iMac software update also update the graphics card drivers, or am I better off trying to install them manually?
My iMac has the Nvide 7600 GT display. I'm having a display issue with Adobe Dreamweaver 8, and I suspect it is an issue with my graphics card. I don't know how to tell if my graphics card driver s/w is up-to-date or whether I am better manually installing the driver?

If the app is a PPC program it will always run in Rosetta emulation mode on an intel mac. You can choose to run universal apps in rosetta emulation if you want, but it usually sacrifices performance (program will run slower). To check this, go into the apps folder, command click on the app and select get info. It will tell you what kind of app it is, universal or PPC. For universal apps you have an option to run in rosetta. Check that box and the next time you start that app it will run in rosetta emulation mode. Again, this will result in some performance loss for that app, and it isn't necessary to run the app. So, that being said, I don't know why you would need to do that. Maybe someone else here can answer that question.

  • Slow Data Response, Display

    Hi,
I am running a fairly large worksheet that needs to interact with PCIboads from measurement Computing at a very high speed in order to interact with my machine. One of these boards is a Data Acquisition board, and the other is a Digital Input Output board, controlling switches.
The program only seems to run smoothly when I have the sampling rate very low (2 Hz's). I need to be running at a much higher sampling rate . I understand that the faster my sampling rate the slower it displays, but by checking the files that I am writing to, I can see that it is not actually gathering data at this speed. I am using a brand new fast computer so processing power should not be a problem.
Is this a problem with dasylab itself? My program?
I have attached my program below.

Here's the bad news -- I don't have that hardware combination here, so I cannot reproduce it.
I do know that the A/D card is hardware timed, and the timing is well defined by the clock on the device.
The DIO card is software paced, which means that the program (DASYLab and its driver) are using a PC timing source. The highest possible update rate is determined by a lot of factors, including the computer and the whims of the guy who wrote the driver
And you have a relay board which is relatively slow. That may determine the maximum output rate.
So, if the input channels are connected to the output channels, you need to reduce the output rate to the Digital Outputs. Does that make sense?
You can sample the Analog inputs at a high rate, and then use an average or a separate module to reduce the sample rate before it gets to the Digital Output module. All channels connected to the output need to use the same rate. You're using the "Driver", and can leave that at the lower rate when you increase the Dev1-AI HW rate.
If you need more help with these devices, and to determine the highest possible sample rate for the PCIe-DIO96H, you need to contact Measurement Computing directly. Call 508-946-5100 or go to www.mccdaq.com. They are staffed from 8 AM to 6 PM, EDT.

  • New Smart sharpen slow updates

The new Smart Sharpen (Photoshop CC) is very nice especially the possibility of enlarging the preview window. However the update when adjusting the sliders is quiet slow despite the fact that I have a rather powerful configuration.
Anybody experiences the same lag or is the problem at my end?
    Regards,
    Ronald

I think in this case it goes beyond NR and into something being slightly wrong with event handling, causing the display to possibly not update right away or even at all until you interact with it.  I've even seen the sharpening preview applied to the main Photoshop editing preview, while not being applied to the preview in the Smart Sharpen dialog.
I'm confident they'll fix this for the next point release.
It's kind of a shame that the UI has a bit of a gotcha, because the actual image results of the CC 14.0 rendition of the Smart Sharpen filter are quite superb.

  • Is there a way to force SpeedGrade to update its display when it fails to?

I'm on a Retina MacBook Pro, and I've turned of GPU acceleration for SpeedGrade per Adobe's instructions, so it won't crash immediately every time I try to open any sequence.
But I still have a problem: when I draw a mask on the Primary layer, and click the "Apply grading layer to the inside of the mask" button, most of the sliders I use don't have any effect at all. Until, eventually, the screen updates to show what I've done. But sometimes it just never does.
And I'm definitely using SpeedGrade correctly; it's just that the display only sometimes updates. I mean, I can drag Input Saturation ALL the way to the right, then toggle the Primary layer on and off a few times...and then suddenly the person's face turns orange. But only after I click around for a while and wait.
What's wrong? Will these problems go away once GPU acceleration is fixed for Intel Iris graphics on the Retina MacBook Pro? Or...?
I have to say, frankly, that while I love the idea of SpeedGrade, between (months ago) very, very long waits (literally ten minutes) to open a project via Dynamic Link, to the frequent crashes, to this problem now, that I've never been able to simply use SpeedGrade as intended. Every single time I've opened it in the last year, I've had a string of problems. Meanwhile, while I've had some issues with Premiere, it's generally been reliable and a pleasure to use, just like Media Encoder and many other parts of the suite. So when is SpeedGrade going to get the same bugfixing love the other apps get?
And in the meantime, what can I do to get SpeedGrade working??

Speedgrade uses some of similar back-coding to PrPro, but much of it is quite different. So the melding of the two within a Direct - to - Sg link workflow (as it seems you are using) is a bit ... complicated. And clearly still uses more and in some cases specific resources than would be used in either program run alone. That said, there's a couple things that might help you.
First ... after the "handoff", when you are looking at a Speedgrade UI with your project loaded, close down ALL other apps open, including but ESPECIALLY PrPro. Sg will start up PrPro for you when you click on the icon to save & return to PrPro. This helps a lot of the time.
Second ... realize that masking within a DL session is ... difficult ... for the program to handle and may overtax your laptop's capabilities. They've improved the abilities of masks to function in DL operation, but it's still not nearly the same as say Sg can do if in a "native" mode ... working your footage within say an EDL style session, where Sg is working on it's own project file, an " ircp-dot" file. A bit more complicate & time consuming to prep for, but might actually work while doing your grading.
