SM58 Transaction Recorded Very Slow

Dear Experts,
I have many tRFC in PI system in SM58 with status transaction recorded. This seems to be because there were an unusual data (file to idoc) from 1 interface that suddenly sends more data than usual. This happens at midnight, since then we have a queue at in SM58 with many  transaction recorded (until tonight).
Strange things is actually that when I try to execute the LUW (F6), the transaction could be processed successfully, even though sometimes after pressing F6, the processing time could take some time (marked by the loading cursor). When the processing time is long, I just stop the transaction, re-open SM58, then the transaction that was executed before will be in the "executing" status and then I execute LUW for the transaction again and it never takes a long time to execute it.
Trying to execute LUWs and ticking the recorded status would end up no transactions executed.
Checking in SMQS for the destination, it is rarely that the actual connection reach the maximum connection. Seeing QRFC resource in SMQS, the Resource Status shows OK.
Going to SM51 then Server Name > Information > Queue Information, there are no waiting requests.
Actually the transactions are do processed, it just they are processed very slow and this impact to the business.
What can I do when this happens? How to really re-process those recorded transactions?
Could this be because the receiver resources? How to check for this?

Dear Experts,
According to this link,
http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?original_fqdn=wiki.sdn.sap.com&pageId=145719978
"Transaction recorded" usually happens when A. processing idocs or B. BW loads.
A.If it occurs when processing idocs you will see function module "IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCH" mentioned in SM58.
Check also that the idocs are being processed in the background and not in the foreground.
Ensure that background processing is used for ALE communications.
Report RSEOUT00 (outbound)can be configured to run very specifically for the high volume message types on their system. Schedule regular runs of report RESOUT00 it can be run for
IDoc Type and\or Partner etc..
To set to background processing for Outbound idocs do the following:
-> go to transaction WE20 -> Select Partner Select Outbound Message Type and change the processing method from
"Transfer IDoc Immedi." to "Collect IDocs".
Reading that explanations, should the setting of IDoc processing to background (Collect IDocs) is done in PI or the receiver?
If the IDocs is processed collectively, will it make the sending IDoc process faster from PI to the receiver system? What is the explanation that if the IDoc is processed collectively, it would make the IDoc sending to be faster?
Why should we use RSOUT00 report when we already have SM58, and we can execute LUWs in SM58?
Thank you,
Suwandi C.

    Hi Pcrao,
    Thanks for your reply,
    Kindly clarify the following
    1. What ABAP program i should use in the Background job. If it is RSARFCSE how will i create the variant for this program.
Also there were some entries in SM58 3 days old entries which are in Transaction recorded. should i delete those entries
Can the old entires cause any issue

  • SM58 entries processed very slow

    Hi Gurus,
currently we are facing problems with TRFC queue entries, during sometimes all entries are struck up in the queue and processed very slowly. For that we have scheduled a TRFCs processing job, but still entries are getting process very slow.
if any one of come across the similar issue, please provide your inputs.
    Thanks and Regards,
    venkat.

A SAP notes search with keywords SM58 and performance could give you a start.
    For example:
Note 375566 - Large number of entries in tRFC and qRFC tables
    Note 460235 - tRFC/qRFC: Low-speed processing

  • Transactional replication very slow with indexes on Subscriber table

I have setup Transactional Replication for one of our databases where one table with about 5mln records is replicated to a Subsriber database. With every replication about 500-600.000 changed records are send to the Subscriber.
Since one month I see very strange behaviour when I add about 10 indexes to the Subscriber table. As soon as I have added the indexes replication speed becomes extremely slow (almost 3 hours for 600k records). As soon as I remove the indexes the replication
is again very fast, about 3 minutes for the same amount of records.
I've searched a lot on the internet to solve this issue but can't find any explaination for this strange behaviour after adding the indexes. As far as I know it doesn't have to be a problem to add indexes to a Subscriber table, and it hasn't been before on
    another replication configuration we use.

    Hi Megens:
Insert statement might be slow with not only indexes and few others things too
    0) SQL DB Blocking during inserts
    1) If any insert triggers are existed
    2) Constraints - if any
    3) Index fragmentation
    4) Page splits / fill factor
Without indexes inserts will be fast because, each time when new row going to insert to the table, SQL Server will do
    1) it will check for the room, if no room page splits will happen and record will placed at right place
    2) Once the record updated all the index should be update
    3) all these extra update work will cause can make insert statement bit slow
Its better to have index maintenance jobs frequently to avoid fragmentation.
If every thing is clear on SQL Server Side, you need look up on DISK IO, N/W Latency between the servers and so on
    Thanks,

  • Flashback and transaction query very slow

Hello. I was wondering if anyone else has seen transaction queries be really slow and if there is anything I can do to speed it up? Here is my situation:
I have a database with about 50 tables. We need to allow the user to go back to a point in time and "undo" what they have done. I can't use flashback table because multiple users can be making changes to the same table (different records) and I can't undo what the other users have done. So I must use the finer granularity of undoing each transaction.
I have not had a problem with the queries, etc. I basically get a cursor to all the transactions in each of the tables and order them backwards (since all the business rules must be observed). However, getting this cursor takes forever. From that cursor, I can execute the undo_sql. In fact, I once had a cursor that did "union all" on each table and even if the user only modified 1 table, it took way too long. So now I do a quick count based on the ROWSCN (running 10g and tables have ROWDEPENDANCIES) being in the time needed to find out if this table has been touched. Based on that, I can create a cursor only for the tables that have been touched. This helps. But it is still slow especially compared to any other query I have. And if the user did touch a lot of tables, it is still way too slow.
Here is an example of part of a query that is used on each table:
    select xid, commit_scn, logon_user, undo_change#, operation, table_name, undo_sql
    from flashback_transaction_query
where operation IN ('INSERT', 'UPDATE', 'DELETE')
      and xid IN (select versions_xid
                  from TABLE1
versions between SCN p_scn and current_scn
                  where system_id = p_system_id)
and table_name = UPPER('TABLE1')Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • QuickTime Screen Recorder Very Slow in Mountain Lion

Is anyone else having problems with the QuickTime screen recorder in Mountain Lion vs in Snow Leopard? I remember it being light in Snow Leopard, but now, it hogs CPU and GPU (I think) cycles. Most of the time, what I'm trying to record (even just Safari or Finder windows) slows down because of it. Is there a fix for this? My computer is perfectly capable of running Mountain Lion and is much more powerful than my older Mac, which could use the screen recorder just fine in Snow Leopard.
I've also noticed that, if you choose to record audio from a mic, it doesn't start recording video until you make a detectable sound. I can tell by the bitrate meter it shows. This is stupid in my opinion... It should just start when I tell it to.

File a bug report with Apple. Aside from that, I can't help.

  • DVD recording very slow on my Satellite M30

    Hi,
I have a satellite M30 with a DVD burner Teac dv-w28e. burning onto DVD (8x) takes more than 1 hour and half for 4 GB, even if the burning program says the speed is 8x and the estimated time is 10 minutes.
    So, what's the matter???

    Hi
Which burning program did you use?
I prefer to use the Nero burning utility. In my opinion, its one of the best burning tools. You should check if you have this issue with other burning programs.
Did you simulate the burning procedure or did you burn the DVD without simulating?
As far as I know some programs simulate firstly the burning procedure and after proper simulation the files will be burn to the DVD. In this case the burning procedure takes much longer.

  • How to identify reasons for a very slow transaction?

    Hi All,
If I see that a SAP standard transaction is very slow for every user, what are the areas that I will have to look to get it resolved.
All other transactions work quick and only one transaction is very sluggish. How to find the root cause and resolve this?
    Thanks
    Vijay

    Hi,
I have used Tx Code SGEN to reduce the time to open every Transaction. As opening every transaction require the compilation of some programs, reports etc, which takes a lot of time.
This transaction S creen GEN erator,  will load(compiled version of ) all the frequently used transactions into the database. Database size will be increased by 2 GB or more.

  • Retrieving record from oracle DB very slow..pls help

Hi, i'm writing a VB code to retrieving records from Oracle DB Server version 8. I'm using VB Adodb to retrieve the records from various tables. Unfortunately one of the table are very slow to response, the table only contain around 204900 records. The SQL Statement to retrieve the records is a simple SQL Statement that contain WHERE clause only. Any issue that will make the retrieving time become slow? Is that a Indexing? Oracle Driver? Hardware Spec? Or any solution for me to improve the performance. Thanks!

Well, there are a few things to consider...
First, can you try executing your query via SQL*Plus? If there are database tuning problems, your query will be slow no matter where you run it.
Second, are you retrieving significantly more rows in this query than in your other queries? It can take a significant amount of time to retrieve records to the client, even if it's quick to select them.

  • Oracle 10gr2 Master/detail form running very slow when you navigate to the detail record.

Hi All, I have a master detail  form, running in webserver, when I navigate to the detail block, the form start buffering and buttering for about 2 min. There is a trigger when-new-record instance that is firing when you navigate to  a new record : The select part of this stament is taken a long time to execute. I modified this in toad and what used to take 25 seconds to run is taken less than a second now, but the slowness still persists in the form.
    for rec in (select wrrh_col
                      wpbh_col_lvd,
                       wpbh_col_doc_no
          from wh_col,
               wkpl_col,
               wh_col
         where wrrh_col_no = :block.wreh_wrrh_col_no
           and wrrh_col_no = wreh_wrrh_col_no
             and wrrh_col_no = wpbh_col_no
           and wrrh_col_proj    = wpbh_col_proj
           and wrrh_proj_no     = wpbh_proj_no) loop
       if fun_name(rec.wpbh_col_lvd) = 'Y' then
        do something,
       end if;
      end loop;
The select staement that used to run for 23 seconds is running in less than one second, but the form is still running very slow when I navigate to the detail record.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

Thanks Andrea for your prompt response, the problem is the select statement and like I stated, I tuned the select statement in toad and what normally takes 23 secs is taking less than 1 sec to run. If I comment out the call to the function, it is still slow. The select stament will returned null and it will still be slow. When I comment out the for loop, it run very fast. I dont know what else to do than tuned the select statement.

  • LSMW for transaction FS00 is very slow

Hello all, I wrote a batch input program to process GL entries for Chart of Accounts using LSMW, transaction FS00.  We are using ECC 6.0.  I could not use the direct input program becuase my client has FS01 and FS02 turned off.  It is very slow.  I have to process 107,000 transactions and it is exitmated to take about 30 hours.  I know I can break it up into smaller peices but I was hoping someone has ran into this before.
Any ideas would be appreciated, Thanks

Would tend to agree, it's unlikely to be the portal.  That transaction has lots of different screen elements, so rendering them as HTML via the internal ITS takes time, if you have a large org structure that would make things worse.
Not sure if it will make a noticeable difference, but you could try using the display version of the transaction instead (PPOSE).
    Cheers,
    John
