Small, but useful enchancement of java package

I'm suggesting to have a new interface:
java.util.Filter {
public boolean matches(Object o);
The maches method returs true, if a value match to a defined pattern.
Then we need, an enchancement:
the Collection.iterator() and List.listIterator() should be enchance and two additional methods will be useful:
Collections.iterator(Filter f) and List.listIterator(Filter f).
Such iterators iterates only through the elements of an Container/List that are matching the Filter.
What do you think ?
Greetings,
Witold Kaminski

Hi !
Thank you for the suggestion. This is of course possible.
But .iterator(Filter) has the advantage, that it could be implemented optimized. In a list there is nothing to optimize, but in a sorted tree there are some optimations possible.
But anyway you are right. In my opinion an additionanal adaptor class java.util.FilterIterator would be nice.
A Filter operation is like a compreTo operation very abstract and may be used in a simmular powerful way, can't it ?

    No, nobody knows what Apple's plans are for iWeb or for anything else, and Apple never talks about such things in advance. To tell Apple what kind of features you want in the next version, use the feedback item in the iWeb menu.
    i just know i am going for other blog service soon
    That is what you should do if you really need a feature which iWeb does not currently have. You can still link to your blog from an iWeb site. Many people require blogging features not available in iWeb, especially the ability to make entries via a web browser, and thus use blogger or other services instead.

  • Is it possible to use Microsoft's Java Packages in Forte4Java/JBuilder?

    Dear all,
    I am wondering whether it is possible to use those java packages installed by MS Visual J++ in Sun's Forte4Java or Borland's JBuilder? I found one of the java packages of Microsoft -- com.ms.com.* quite useful for calling ActiveX Components in java code and I have succeeded in calling my DLL COM under Visual J++ with the help of com.ms.com.Dispatch. But I have to use Forte4Java to write my Java program, therefore, it will be great if I can still use com.ms.com.* under Forte4Java. Is it possible? If so, how to do it? Please advise and thanks in advance...
    Tracy

    You can use any java package if you just add it to the classpath. In Forte this means adding it to the explorer pane, I am not sure about Builder.
    The problem will be when you try to run it. Any Microsoft class which uses some part of their runtime will require the Microsoft VM. If you have that, and are willing to be permenantly tied to it, then you will be in business.

  • JSC2 Support for Traditional Java Package Names

    We have been looking for some encouraging words in the JSC2 documentation concerning the use of traditional java package organization for our creator projects but have been unable to find any. JSC2 appears to use a new project directory structure for its own purposes. However, there is no mention of package naming improvements in response to past requests from JSC1 users. We still very much want to organize our project content in the familiar java "com.company.ourproject.ourfeature" style. Is it the intention of the Creator developers to provide improvement in support for custom package names in JSC2 that is beyond what was possible in JSC1? Any insightful comments would be greatly appreciated.

  • Which Java packages can be used in Script processors and where/how to customise EDQ

    The online help for the Script processor shows an example using java.util:
    output1 = java.util.UUID.randomUUID().toString()
    but are there any other packages that can be used?
    The background to this question is that we'd like to know whether it might be possible to call a web service from an EDQ process - would this possible through scripting, by creating a new processor or through some other customisation.
    More fundamentally is there anything explaining where and how 'native' EDQ (i.e. not additional packs like the Customer Data Services Pack) can be customised and for what typical purposes.
    Thanks, Nik

    Hi,
    Yes it is possible to call web services from script. Others will likely help with examples of how to do this.
    For more information about extending EDQ, see the topic 'Extending EDQ' in the online help.
    There is also a full guide to the processor library in the online help.

  • NoClassDefFound error when using custom Java package in scripting QPAC

    Hi,
    I compiled a little Java-package (.jar), which contains a class that uses
    com.adobe.workflow.datatype.form.FormDataTypeInstanceImpl.
    I put my library in the lib folder of JBoss (...\server\all\lib).
    Then I'm was trying to invoke my custom class in the scripting QPAC. But I'm constantly getting the error message
    NoClassDefFound com\adobe\workflow\datatype\form\FormDataTypeInstanceImpl. I already put
    adobe-wkf.jar (and various others) in the lib folder of JBoss. Without ever succeeding. Unfortunately.
    I'm going mad about this.
    Is there a way to address a custom package in the scripting QPAC, which uses
    FormDataTypeInstanceImpl?
    Steve

    Removing the LiceCycle jars from the lib folder did not work. I still get the same error message.
    What I wanted to do is provide some basic utilities, without having to spend a lot of time designing QPAC user interfaces.
    My utility class contains methods like this one:
    @param
    pFormData
    @return
    @throws
    ParserConfigurationException
    @throws
    SAXException
    @throws
    IOException
    public static
    org.w3c.dom.Document formToXml
    FormDataTypeInstanceImpl pFormData
    throws
    ParserConfigurationException, SAXException, IOException
    byte
    data = pFormData.getXFAData
    InputStream objXMLInputStream =
    new
    ByteArrayInputStream
    data
    // create new Document object
    DocumentBuilderFactory objFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance
    DocumentBuilder objBuilder = objFactory.newDocumentBuilder
    org.w3c.dom.Document objDocument = objBuilder.parse
    objXMLInputStream
    return
    objDocument;
    Even without ever invoking the aforementioned method, I get the error
    NoClassDefFound: FormDataTypeInstanceImpl. Which is pretty weird.
    Do I have to write my own classloader?

  • Use of Java packages in Java stored procedures? (Oracle 10.2)

    Hi all-
    Does Oracle's Java stored procedures support Java packages? In all the examples I've seen, packages are never used, and when I added one to a test file, it compiled it just fine, but referencing the class from the package itself resulted in a compiling error.
    In other words, it seems to make absolutely no difference if I preface my Java class with
    package com.mycompany.whatever;
    and while I can "import com.mycompany.whatever.MyClass" in another Java file, it seems to not care at all whether I do so or not.
    Thanks for any clarification,
    Ilford

    Hi Ilford:
    Sure you can use fully package notation in your Java classes.
    Look at this Java source code:
    http://dbprism.cvs.sourceforge.net/dbprism/cms-2.1/src/com/prism/cms/core/
    All of them are Java Stored procedures.
    Best regards, Marcelo.

  • How do we create self-signed certificate using java packages

    Hi All,
    I require some information on creating self-signed certificate using java packages.
    The java.security.cert.* package allows you to read Certificates from an existing store or a file etc. but there is no way to generate one afresh. See CertificateFactory and Certificate classes. Even after loading a certificate you cannot regenerate some of its fields to embed the new public key &#8211; and hence regenerate the fingerprints etc. &#8211; and mention a new DN. Essentially, I see no way from java to self-sign a certificate that embeds a public key that I have already generated.
    I want to do the equivalent of &#8216;keytool &#8211;selfcert&#8217; from java code. Please note that I am not trying to do this by using the keytool command line option &#8211; it is always a bad choice to execute external process from the java code &#8211; but if no other ways are found then I have to fall back on it.
    Regards,
    Chandra

    I require some information on creating self-signed certificate using java packages. Its not possible because JCE/JCA doesn't have implementation of X509Certificate. For that you have to use any other JCE Provider e.g. BouncyCastle, IAIK, Assembla and etc.
    I'm giving you sample code for producing self-signed certificate using IAIK JCE. Note that IAIK JCE is not free. But you can use BouncyCastle its open source and free.

  • Java web service using pl/sql DB package - JDev 10.1.3.1

    Hi All,
    I wanted to create a java web service, instead of a pl/sql web service, that calls a pl/sql package in my DB.
    Jdev (10.1.3.1) can generate java code for my pl/sql package. But the generated code can't be used with a java web service. I've found that the generated code uses types that can't be serialized for a webservice (ie. java.sql.Timestamp).
    Does anyone know of a work around?
    Thanks!

    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/wsfromplsqlpackage/devwsfrom%20plsql.htm
    It's pretty well documented within Jdev also.

    If you plan to store important "original" or "master" files and documents on the Time Capsule, then you might want to think about a way to back up those files to another hard drive.
    Why? If the Time Capsule has a problem...and you have no backups....you lose everything.

    Hi Govada,
    (1)You need to add the MDM4j and other JAR files at:-
    right click on project -> Java Build Path -> Libraries -> Add External JARs
    (2)If the project is Web Dynpro project one
    then right click on project -> Web Dynpro Reference -> Library Reference -> and add sap.com/com.sap.mdm.tech.mdm4j
    Are you using JAVA API 1 or 2???

  • Include Core Java Package While using Javadoc

    Hi there:
    I have developed a java package which import the JavaSQL package. I would like to generate the technical document via Javadoc and include the JavaSQL APIs. Any idea?
    Thanks, Joseph

    Use the '-link' option of the standard doclet. This example will allow you to link to Sun's api's directly. Of course, you could also provide a link to an internal URL (could also be a file:// URL) where the SDK javadocs are located.
    javadoc mypackage [...] -link http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/api/

  • The configuration file did not contain well formed AppV configuration XML - When using Office 2013 ODT package

    All,
    I'm experiencing an issue where when using the Office 2013 package pulled down from ODT, that if I try to change the locations of either InfoPath Filler 2013 or Publisher 2013 from the default of Microsoft Office 2013 then I receive the message "The
    configuration file did not contain well formed AppV configuration XML. Please check the management server event log for more information". If I check Applications and Services\Microsoft\AppV\Server-Management\Admin the error displayed there is "An
    error was encountered parsing dynamic configuration file '0'. However I am able to change the shortcut location for all other applications except the above 2. I've tried redownloading the files using the ODT and also changing the version number (so far I've
    tried both the 15.0.4631.1002 and 15.0.4659.1001 with the same result).
    As all I'm interested in so far is having a package which contains Visio and Project I've tried following the article to exclude all the other Office elements:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/library/jj219426(v=office.15).aspx#BKMK_ExcludeAppElement. However the package looks to be the same and when I load it into the management console all the options and elements to Office 2013 are available like they were before
    when I hadn't set the exclude tags so I'm not sure whether the ExcludeApp parameters actually work correctly.
    This then brings me onto the 3rd issue I've experienced. I have a group for the Visio users and I've set custom security for them to have Visio delivered to them but not Project and then a seperate group for just Project users who will have Project delivered
    to them but not have Visio. When testing this sometimes seems to work but other times it seems to trip out and a user just in the Project or Visio group will get all of the Office 2013 applications and under the default location of Microsoft Office 2013. When
    trying to spot correlation with this it appears random and can happen to any user on any device. We have sequenced a few applications ourselves where different parts are needed for different users and we have successfully managed this using different security
    groups for different applications, just as I'm trying here with Office 2013.
    Has anyone else experienced the issue with the "did not contain well formed XML" as at the start of the post and how were you able to resolve this? Also has anyone any advice on how to troubleshoot the issue with the security seeming to trip out
    and publish all applications within a package to a user regardless of whether they are in the correct group or not?
    The management / publishing servers are 5.0.1224.0 which is SP1 HF4 and the clients are on SP2 HF5.
    Thanks

    Nicke,
    The config files are UTF-8. I did find the same article as yourself, however when searching for the value ‘TakeoverExtensionPointsFrom46=’ within either of the configuration.xml files that text isn’t found.
    No sinister reason not to share the file used, just it’s the same structure as referenced in the article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn745895(v=office.15).aspx. The only difference being that I’m using ProPlusVolume and I’ve set a version number (which is the October
    2014 update). I’ve even looked to follow the above example as closely as possible in just using the ExcludeApp ID of Access and InfoPath, just to try and prove the process. However I still get the usual full package. The version of the Click-to-Run setup.exe
    I’m using is 15.0.4623.1001, so later than the version specified at the end of that article which is 15.0.4619.1000. Where can I expect to see the elements excluded? Will it be when loading the package into the management console or would it just not appear
    on the machine when delivered?
    <Configuration>
      <Add SourcePath="C:\OfficeDeploymentToolV2" Version="15.0.4659.1001" OfficeClientEdition="32">
        <Product ID="ProPlusVolume">
          <Language ID="en-us" />
    <ExcludeApp ID="Access" />
    <ExcludeApp ID="InfoPath" />
        </Product>
      </Add>
    </Configuration>
    3). We’ve not used global publishing in our environment yet so I will try that. I’ve set both GlobalRefreshEnabled and GlobalRefreshOnLogon to True and when using the command Get-AppvPublishingServer on the client I’m testing with I can see this is pulled
    through correctly. I’ve also added the client name to the AD group used to grant access to the package and it is published. However nothing is pulling through onto the Client, so are there any steps I’ve missed or misinterpreted when looking to set this up?
    I guess the global publishing is there to keep in with licensing for Office being per device? On a slight aside, as Windows licensing is being changed to allow per user licensing
    http://www.zdnet.com/microsoft-to-make-per-user-windows-licensing-available-to-enterprise-customers-7000035401/ does anyone know if there are any plans to allow for Office / Project / Visio licenses to go per user as well? We’re a volume license customer
    rather than subscription based so I think a lot of the options to selectively deploy Visio and Project are excluded for us.
    Dan,
    Ok that explains why the security could be tripping out then and leading to this result. As above I’ll try with global publishing and see how I get on.
     From what I’ve read / watched  I think only one Office 2013 package can be published to a machine, so we would be unable to have a separate package for Visio and a separate package for Project and then attempt to deliver
    them both together. If a user wanted both Project and Visio then I guess we’d need to have a combined Project and Visio package to cover than scenario, but then 2 more separate Project and Visio packages for those who would only want either Project and Visio
    (I think).
    The scenario we’re looking at is to see whether we are able to deliver Project and / or Visio to different users through an AppV package and this will then cover users on XenApp or on fat clients. Only a small proportion of our
    users will need access to Project and / or Visio so therefore we’d only have a small amount of Project and Visio licenses.
    However from what I’ve tested up to this point and from what I’ve picked up from Forum posts / watched on TechEd sessions is that as publishing is Global and is unable to use different security groups for different elements of the
    suite, then using Office through AppV is only suitable if you will be delivering the whole suite (including Project and Visio) to all of your users. So in a scenario where you’d only want certain elements to be delivered to a handful of users then you’d need
    to keep with traditional ESD methods to have this installed onto fat clients and steer clear of XenApp. If wanting to install to XenApp then a lockdown tool like AppSense or AppLocker would also need to be brought into the equation.
    Is my understanding above correct or have I missed some options / methods?
    If the full Office package is always delivered but a company only has Office licenses and no Project and Visio licenses for all its users, how do they stop Project and Visio being delivered and being available? Or again if you have
    this use case is the AppV method one which will be unsuitable?
    Thanks
