Smart form Passing DMBTR Value

Hi,
I have aproblem that while passing DMBTR value using structure to Smart Forms it is creating a DUMP as not fragmented.
1. first it is giving error as reference field is not matching with the forms.
    when we change the structure.
2. It is creating a dump while passing the value to forms and giving the message as not fragmented.
Waiting for your help.
Thanks and Regards.

Are the data elements in the Print program / driver program for the DMBTR same as the data element of the parameter of the smart form.
If NOT, make sure both of them are referring to the same data element.
That should fix the issue.
A work around could be to fetch that particular data inside the smart form using the program lines.
Regards,
Ravi

  • HI How  to set a Break point In Smart Forms

    Hi Guys,
i want to set a break-point in main window of the smart form ,before dispalying
values of the varibles in the main window .
How to Set a break-point And What are the ways to set a break point.
    Thanks for All.
    From
    Hitu.

    Hi Hitu,
Generally, Break Points are set for the purpose of debugging in Smartforms.
For debugging , one of the way is :
    1. Write BREAK POINT in the code window.
    2. Put a break point on the call function in the driver program
    3. Put a break point in the generated Function module.
    Hope this resolves your query.

  • Smart Form - operator not followed by value

    Hi all,
in smart form --> Global definition --> initialization
    i have written this code....
select belnr gjahr bukrs blart bldat budat waers into corresponding fields of
    table tbkpf from bkpf where
bukrs = ubukrs and gjahr = ugjahr and budat in ubudat.
Here cmp code and fiscal year is parameter but posting date is select-options.
Its gives error :- The IN operator with "BUDAT" is followed neither by an internal table nor by a value list.
i have taken input parameters also.
Edited by: Julius Bussche on Nov 13, 2008 10:56 AM

select-options should be handled in a different manner in smart forms.
    declare 2 variable say
    1) budat_low
    2) budat_high.
Pass the low value of posting date to budat_low and high value of posting date to budat_high.
then handle the above 2 variables in select query using BETWEEN.
eg: budat between budat_low and budat_high.

  • How to Pass the Internal table of a report to Smart Form

    Hi Experts,
I have one report in which from selection screen i am getting the values from the users, and upon that values i am filling data in to the internal table.
Now i want to pass that internal table data to the smart form
and print that data in the smart form.
So could you pls give me some pseudo code or any steps to achieve it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    DS

    Hi DS,
First of all you need to create a SF and then need to call the FM generated by the FM in your report.
In the SF in the form interface>tables tab>mention the name of the table and its type structure.
Pls note that a new structure has to be created as the same type of your internal table which holds the data.
And the import and export parameters as just the same as in a FM.
Now after you create and activate your SF a FM will be generated (wen u execute your SF you will be taken to this SE37 screen with the name of FM so no probs..)
You can call this FM in your report. Hope this helps.
    Ex:
say itab has your final data, and you also want to export a variable var1 to the SF.
after your normal report operations end, call the FM and pass on these data.
say your FM name is FM1.
    call function FM1
    exporting
    var1 = var1
    tables
    itab1 = itab1.
pls note that in the SF also i gave the same names, it is not mandatory to give the same names.
and as you want to print a table in the smartforms, you need to create a table in the smart forms and then display the data which is quite simple.
    Hope this helps...
if you need any further explanations, pls revert...
    Regards,
    Narendra.

  • Passing SELECT-OPTIONS to smart forms

    hi ,
how can we pass select options from a program to a smart form.
    Regards
    Arun

    Hi,
Just try to append the valid values in select options  to internal table from report.
Then pass that internal table(ofcourse, you need to create user-defined struture if needed in SE11) from report to smart forms.

  • Inserting a db row from a form with a value passed in from another page

We have a report (P1) on a table (T1). P1 has a link column (C), and C is the PK on T1. Clicking on a link (i.e., a row) in report P1, takes us to form (P2). P2 is used to allow the user to insert a new row into T1, with the constraint that one of the columns (X) in T1 must have the same value as X had in the linked row on P1. Also, X is a NOT NULL attribute.
    What we are doing is:
First, passing C to P2 by setting the link name=P2_X_C and the link value=#C#
Second, in P2, we are setting form element P2_C via a SQL statement:
    SELECT X
    FROM T1
    WHERE C = :P2_X_C
P2 displays nicely. We set P2_C to display only, and allow the user to enter values for the other columns. The value displayed for X is not NULL and correctly matches the value from P1. However, when we hit the CREATE button on P2, we get error: ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into "T1"."X". Unable to process row of table T1.
APEX seems to have an "issue" with having a value in a form "set" and transmitted to the DB on INSERT.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
1 For "Display Only" items that you are not populating directly from a database column, if you want to save the value, you have to ensure that Save Session State is set to Yes and these items are not actually submitted with the page. The same sort of thing would apply to Disabled or Read-Only items as browsers do not submit these items - though these are more tricky to deal.
2 Passing the PK value is the most common way of identifying which record contains the values you need. Passing other values is also typical - eg, for applying filters for calendars or searches or for setting flags.
3 For database columns, which should be based on the underlying table's data, you can use the Default Value settings - though be aware that these values do not exist in session state until the page is submitted. That's ok if you don't need to use the value anywhere else on your page

  • Passing a value for date parameter from Oracle Forms to BIP

    Hi
I have created a report with the following SQL query:
    select
    d_tables.d_seq,
    to_date(d_tables.d_created) creation_date,
    d_tables.d_created_by created_by,
    d_tables.d_pk,
    d_tables.table_name,
    d_tables.comments
    from
    d_tables, d_applications
    where
    d_tables.d_ppk = d_applications.d_pk
    and to_date(d_tables.d_created) >= nvl(:P_CRE_DATE_FROM, to_date(d_tables.d_created))
    and to_date(d_tables.d_created) <= nvl(:P_CRE_DATE_TO, to_date(d_tables.d_created))
The parameters P_CRE_DATE_FROM and P_CRE_DATE_TO have been set up as date in BI Publisher with format dd-MMM-yyyy
The report works fine when launched in BI Publisher.
I want to call this report from Oracle Forms and I'm trying to pass the values for both the parameters. However, the report does not generate output based on values passed.
Does it have to do with datatype? Does anyone know a solution for this?
    Kind regards,
    Aparna

Thanks for your suggestion. I am already referring to the whitepaper and have integrated Forms with BI Publisher. The parameter passing is working fine for a varchar2 type of parameter. However, for a date type, there seems to be some problem.

  • How to pass a value from the report to a form ( BIT OF URGENT ).

    Hi,
I had created a "Form on a Table with Report" on the report I had remove the edit link and set one of the column feilds that functionality. Now I want to know how to pass that value that is clicked ( having hyper link ) on to the form where it runs a SQL query and then displays the reuslts on the form.
    Illustrating with an example.
I am having these following columns on the report ( these are the results for the join statement )
JOBNUM JOBNAME DEPTNUMBER SAL EMPNO LNAME FNAME
In the above JOBNUM is having Hyper link as I removed the edit image.
Now this is area I am having problem. When the user clicked on the JOBNUM then on form it should display 20 other columns( pulled from 5 other tables ) which are related to that particualr JOBNUM.
Anybody give me a solution in which area I have to include my SQL statement and how to pass that selected value to that SQL statement.
    Cheers,
    Krishna

    Hi Ron,
I am doing exaclty what you have suggested me but no luck. I started changing the DEMO_CUSTOMERS application to my requirements. The report is working fine and on the report I have created a page attribute to the Hyper linked column and linked that to the page 2 and assign that attribute with #JOBNUM#.
I am able to pass that value on to form when I click on the JOBNUM. But the problem is I am not able to pass that value into the SQL query so that my query pulls 20+ columns on to the Form ( which is second page ).
Small clarification... On the form region it is said FORM NAME and type is HTML is that is the way the APEX was designed or does it need to say region type as FORM.
Thanks for your help in advance.
    Cheers,
    Krishna.

  • Pass a value to a form to be used as a label/readonly

I have a link between a report and an update form. I want to pass the value of a report column to the form to be used as a label. The report column does not exist in the table that the form is based on. How can I do this? I added an item to the form, but that item does not show up in the link details for assignment of a value. Is this a refresh problem?

How do I get the value (VAC_ID) to the form from the link? When you edit the link you can assign column values to the parameters. How can I get the parameter (VAC_ID) to show up as a parameter when it is not in the record?

  • Forms Server ES - Pass By Value XDP

I have a need to pass by value the XDP (XDP and Data XML Merged together) to the forms web service renderPDFForm method.
We had this working fine in Adobe 6 and Adobe 7.X (Livecycle).
We are in process of upgrading to Adobe 8 (LiveCycle ES).
When I make the render call below I pass the XDP and XML data together in one XDP package to the service. It renders the PDF Form, but I do not see my data like I did in Adobe 7.X.
    Any Ideas/Suggestions?
    fs.renderPDFForm("",data,pdfFormRenderSpec,uriValues,attachments,outRenderPDFFormResultDoc ,longHolder,stringHolder,formsResult);

Typically its pass by value. Thanks to class loaders and the JMS specification, you pretty much have to serialize any Object in an ObjectMessage before sending.
Sending around 20K to 10Mb is no big deal these days - but if you're worried about message size, send around a URL to the resource instead.
