Smart Form to be attached to the user decission step

Hi Experts,
I have a requirement wherein I need to convert a smart form to .doc file (document should be edited by the user) and attach the same to the user decission step.Can some one suggest me what is that I need to do to achieve this requirement.

u r right. there is no error in sending the mail and the file but the problem is that file created and converted to pdf is not done properly.jst verify whether the file is created properly or not .thats the only problem that can occurs else ur program is absolutely right.

Convert the spool to xls format and email through attachment to the user

Hi all,
When I execute a report in background, I get spool. I need to convert the spool to xls format and email through attachment to the user.The xls file should not be saved on local system.
If I use the Spool Recepient tab in SM37 it mails the spool list as .txt file to the mail receipient. But I need to send it as an .xls file.
Can any one help me on this

Smart form - Long text in all the items?

Hello gurus,
We are using something similar to smart form (I don't know the exactly name, like pretty form).
So, we are using a long text in the "Item text" by item.
Sometimes the item can be more than 20 lines in the "Item text" as long text and sometimes not.
Example: I have a PO with 4 items:
Item 1 - Without Item text.
Item 2 - With 20 lines in the Item text
Item 3 -With 1 line in the Item text
But, when the PO is printed, the PO form has to all the items 20 lines by item.
That's mean that if in the first item I don't have item text, the first item is showed with a very long space in blank (space of 20 lines).
The secont item is showed correctly.
The third item has one line wrote and 19 lines in blank, like a long space in blank.
How we can manage this situation in the format?
How we can program these spaces to see in the format to the first item without the space in blank and to the third item only 1 item and the other 19 lines without being shown?

Formscentral doesn't support direct delivery of filled forms via email at this time. You can however use Acrobat to add an email link to a form instead of a submit button. In this way the PDF will be returned to the email of your choice.

User Decission Step

Hi,
I create a user decission step to approve or reject changes at it0008. workflow has to wait for four hours for approvers decission. if approver didnt take any action, the mail has to go to manager to do the same. for this, i have set time at latest end at user decission step, even though mail is not going to manager. still its waiting only at 1st level only.
what might b the problem.
]how to solve this.

Hi,
First you need to user the modeled option in the latest end tab.
Therefore a branch will be created where you can add the mail step.
Please run report RSWWDHEX to make the deline effective.
You can also make a periodic background job with report with this report.
You can also check the Tocde SWWA to maintain WI Deadline Monitoring.

Logo Problem While sending the smart form as an attachment via Email

Hi ,
I am using the FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send the smartforma as an attachement into the mailbox . it is sent correctly but the COLOR LOGO are not coming correctlly .
I checked the OTF to PDF file is getting converted correctly .i.e. if i am downloading the foem then it is displaying correctly , but in case of sending it to mailbox as an attached PDF file ,the logo are not comming correctly ,
If anybody faced such type of problem can u please clarify .
I am thinking the problem is in FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 . this FM is not sending the Attached PDF file correctly .
All the TExt/variables are displaying correctly in the PDF file except the LOGO.while opening the PDF file one Warnng message is getting displayed : "An error occured while opening the Image" .

Hi,
Edit your logo as 256 color bit map image and save it and upload into SE78,
And also better to use this FM :SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 it is good for new versions.

How to get material number in smart form driver prog attached to MM01:NACE?

Hi,
I have attached driver program of smart form to MM01 usinfg nace.
On save smart form should get generated.
Can anybody guide me how to get material number from MM01 in driver program on saving MM01.
as of now am not getting values in smart form.
What additional lines to be coaded in driver program to get material number.

use nast table in your import paramaters of smart forms.
In the Nast table you can find a field with object key which holds the Material Number.

Pdf form in read-mode for the users and...allowing me to save my new modifications

I wanted to save a modification in my pdf form. Unfortunally, it was opened by another user in read-only mode.
When I tried to save my new modifications, my screen pops me up the classic error message: cannot not save because it is opened in read....
The form is stored in network shared drive and I am the owner. The users have the read only permission.
I open it with Acrobat Pro X and users open it with Adobe Reader XI. Both sofwares are setted with the enable protected mode and javascript disabled,
I tried to not use the preview mode in Windows explorer without succes.
Is my problem a bug or is it the normal way abobe acrobat works ?

Form A calling Form B, can I prompt the user for parameters?

I'm in the learning curve for Oracle Forms. I have one form that is little more than a menu of buttons that each call other forms. Let's say for the sake of argument that I have a button marked "Quarterly Report". I believe I have to put a call_form('quarterly_rpt_parms.fmx') on that button. The quarterly_rpt_parms form would just be plain with a single field the user fills in (quarterly ending date) and another button that issues a call_form('quarterly_rpt_view.fmx').
Is there a built in method of prompting the user for that date, rather than create a separate form just for that purpose?

You can very easily put a prompt for the date on the top line of your Quarterly Report form, or you could put it in the form, but on a separate canvas, which would show only when the form starts. Once the user enters the date and clicks the report button, you could show the report canvas and hide the input canvas.
...and you don't need the '.fmx' in the call_form.

Submit form to email addressee of the user's choice and submit as pdf

I've been able to set up a Submit button so the user can select the email address, but I can't set up the submission so the form is sent as pdf. Can anyone help with this?

SOFM in user decision step - provide reason in UWL

Hello Everyone,
I'm working with a customer who wants to use a user decision step and add a reason for the rejection only. This step will be executed in UWL - since UWL doesn't support syncrhonous dialog chains, it can't be implemented by adding another step with SOFM. I have seen the 'template with attachment' in the user decision step, and have tried binding SOFM to the Reference in the container, but the user doesn't have the option.
Perhaps this could be implemented with a secondard amodal method - which checks the user decision code and only implements if the decision was rejected. I'd like to be able to put a condition on the secondary methods.
If you've done something like this, please let me know!

Hi Ginger,
Unfortunately it is not only synchronous dialog chains, but also secondary methods that are not supported in the UWL, so you're stuck both ways.
Though, I have been told that the latest SP does support some kind of advance with dialog functionality (SP15 I think?).
At one customer we used a custom ABAP-based decision step which executed in a wingui session - thus synchronous dialog chains worked as long as every subsequent step was wingui based (which SOFM.CREATE obviously is) - worked quite well.
