I want implement smart search like Google in my web site.
So for that we are using approach like below link

In that we are using a text file but it is very small collection of words.
It's correcting small and easy words but it fails in complex words.
So please any one assist me to use words database using any api at the place of text file.

Feature request: keyword search like Google Toolbar

One of the features (well, the ONLY feature) that keeps me from using Safari as my default browser is a feature I get through Google's Toolbar.
After you type in keywords for a search in Google's toolbar. You can click on the word (in the right area) and it will automatically find the next occurrence of that word on the page. (You can alternatively clock on the "highlighter" icon and it will highlight any words in your search). You can find any individual word.
Safari's feature to do this, as far as I can tell, is far less useful. After you type in some keywords. You can click on the magnifying glass and at the bottom, it has the ability to search for the keyword OR phrase, depending on how you search.
Google's Toolbar feature is amazingly productive -- and useful. I can't figure out why none of the browsers have picked up on this feature.
(If someone knows a way to do this with Safari, I'd appreciate it).

As for this capability, there's no reason why a browser couldn't support this feature -- doesn't matter that Google did it in a toolbar. And, in fact, if you click on the magnifying glass in the search box, it does allow you to search within the current page for what you searched for (though it's limited only to the "phrase"). It's at the bottom... You have to have words in the search box to see this.
I'll make the suggestion directly to Apple.
To anyone who hasn't used this capability -- it's really powerful. That said, you need the Google Toolbar which is only supported on Firefox, not Safari (on the Mac platform).

I want to include the search as a Google Search in my portal tool Area.
Instead of searching in Specified Path Folders(Repositories in KM Folder), i want to search all over the World.
is there any code to include the Google Search?

Making our site to search by search engines like google, yeahoo...etc

Hi All,
To make our client site search and display results by google / yahoo or any other search engine what needs to be done?
we kept "meta" tag keywords and description in all our html file and mastheaders.
What we need to do for making our site searchable by search engines ( like yahoo search and google search etc)?
Do we need to register with the search engine sites or search engine will search our site automatically by checking "meta" tags in our web pages.?
All our webpages are in KM.

I havent tried this before, but would like to add my 2 cents to this topic.
I guess you could start by submitting your site to google - http://www.google.com/addurl/
Search engines rely on a lot more than just the meta tags and other header information. I guess Google relies on something called PageRank and also track backs in order to determine the relavance of your site to the search criteria.
You may also search for document related to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) but not sure if that would work.

I'm not sure if this is a Firefox issue, but in the last week or so, whenever I do a search on Google or Bing, when I click on one of the results, I get redirected to a site like Tazinga!, instead of taking me to my destination.

For example, I did a search on Google for :
"resume have summary and objective - Google Search"
It returned several options. I clicked on :
"Summary and Objective statements | Magic Pot of Jobs (http://www.magicpotofjobs.com/2005/07/30/summary-and-objective-statements/)
And instead ended up at:
http://www.gimmeanswers.net/search/v5_1/searchabc.php?search=Resume+Have+Summary+And+Objective&affiliate=mx1-33371
This has been occurring with almost every search I do.

Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

This will be my last comment in the thread, and it's addressed to anyone who has the same problem as the original poster. If you have a different problem, search the site for answered questions similar to yours, and if you don't find a solution that way, start your own thread.
You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow Apple Support's instructions to remove it.
If you have trouble following those instructions, see below.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. This procedure works as of now, as far as I know. It may not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
          com.something.daemon.plist
and
           com.something.helper.plist
Here something is a variable string of characters, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes it's a meaningless string such as "e8dec5ae7fc75c28" rather than a word. Sometimes the string is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
/Library/LaunchAgents
In this folder, there may be a file named
          com.something.agent.plist
where the string something is the same as before.
If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
Open this folder:
/Library/Application Support
If it has a subfolder named just
           something
where something is the same string you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
Finally, in this folder:
/System/Library/Frameworks
there may an item named exactly
            v.framework
It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name; it doesn't vary. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
          Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
          Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
if it's not already checked.

Bing hijacking my safari smart search field

after updating to Yosemite recently I have noticed that whenever I type a search into the safari smart search field, the results are redirected through the bing search engine.
I have tried changing it to Google, through the safari preferences and Duckduckgo too but its all to no avail. Everytime, the search returns bing suggestions. I hate bing, but I hate not having control over the search even more.

I doubt that the uninstaller completely removes the malware. Like "InstallMac" itself, it's distributed by a criminal.
You installed the "InstallMac" trojan. I suggest the procedure below to disable it. This procedure may leave a few small files behind, but it will permanently deactivate the trojan (as long as you never reinstall it.)

Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including one called "Omnibar," and any that have the word "Conduit," "Spigot," or "InstallMac" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Step 2
In the Applications folder, there may be items named "Installer," "InstallMac," "Reset Search," or "Uninstall IM Completer." Drag each such item to the Trash.
Step 3
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.download.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.
If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder should open with a file named "com.genieo.completer.download.plist" selected. There may be other files in the folder with a name beginning in "com.genieo." Move them all to the Trash.
Move this folder, if it exists, to the Trash in the same way:
~/Library/Application Support/com.genieoinnovation.Installer
Log out or restart the computer and empty the Trash.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install this trojan. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad has a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind this attack has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.

How do you add search engines to the Smart Search bar?

The whole point of an omnibar is so you can easily search a variety of search providers without having to go to their website first. For instance, in every other web browser I can type "i Oranges" and get pictures of oranges from Google Images. Or I can type "a Cookbooks" and instantly search Amazon for cookbooks. In every other web browser, in fact, I've been able to do this since at least 2010. What's the problem Apple? Can you seriously not figure out how to implement this? "Smart Search" isn't smart at all if I'm going to be stuck with the default 3 search engines.
I really hate when Apple pulls crap like this and I will be switching back to PC next time I upgrade. "It just works" has become a thing of the past and OSX seems to work against me more than it works for me. I shouldn't have to fight my OS to make it do what I want. Ridiculous.

Whomever told you to hide text is leading you down the wrong path. Doing dirty tricks like that may help you in the extremely short term but the bigger search engines are smart enough to figure out what you're doing. Dirty tricks are a great way to get your site banned from the search engines.
The best way to get good results is to make sure all important text is actually text on the page (not images), have fresh content (blogs are great examples of this, they tend to do well on search engines), and find good ways to get other sites to link back to your site (link farms are not what I'm talking about but think along the lines of reviews, interviews, forum signature posts, etc.).
Be very wary of people telling you they can guarantee you first page results in search engines. They may do that for a short while but search engines are constantly evolving and can drop you as quickly—if not quicker—than pick you up.
It takes time to get a site in the top rankings but there are other methods out there that are better in the long run.

Smart search with oracle SES

Hi,
I'm working on a demo and I'd like to set up smart search. I'm trying to make it work with Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (google onebox isn't free), but I'm having a hard time finding some documentation on-line, and the configuration process is unclear to me.
Has someone already done this? Could you please give me a link, or guide me through Oracle SES Search Mode Configuration ?

I just bought an ibook pro and want to download a browser like google chrome which I am familiar with. Safari just seems to be a lot of icons for shopping and I would like to disable it and put something more functional in its place. How do I ?

Windows 8.1 x64 Smart Search Outlook and OneNote 2013(x32) not returning results

Is the 8.1 Smart Search([windows-key]-type) supposed to return results from Outlook and/or OneNote?
I am using Exchange Cached mode for Outlook if that matters.
I have done the following to try and get results to show up:
control panel...Indexing Options...Advanced...File Types...Index Properties and File Contents
used indexing troubleshooter which found no problems
control panel...Indexing Options...Advanced...Rebuild...
used scanpst to scan my ost and make repairs.
checked and unchecked Outlook and OneNote within index properties
tried to go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\username.ost properties...advanced...checked allow this file to have contents indexed. Except the next time i start outlook the check mark goes away.
verified .pst , .ost and .pst files are all in the index service...file types... list
Search within Outlook itself works just fine and quickly, but i would like to be able to search from the "Smart Search". File name search is flawless.
If it isn't supported, why is it in the indexing options that clearly work for smart search settings because I also added a location for searching where file names search works just fine(although it does seem the contents of excel/word files are
not being indexed, but the index might still be rebuilding)
Any help would keep some hair on my head.

It seems that the smart search can't search the content in outlook and OneNote.

The reason why Outlook and OneNote appears in the Index option tab is that Outlook and OneNote need the Windows search to help index the content in Outlook and OneNote, if we remote the outlook and onenote from Index Option tab, the search function in the
Outlook and OneNote may not works.
Also, smart search main focus on Settings , files, web Images, web Videos which we can select above the search box. Another reason we suspect the design for this is the consideration for security, if we can search the emails in the smart search, that
maybe some programs can access the content in Outlook and OneNote without authentication .

How do i change the setting so that when i type something in the address bar, it searches with google. it's started using yahoo and i hate yahoo, i'm even considering leaving firefox

Google uses a very sophisticated search algorithm, so I think you'll be a little pushed to replicate that or get anyone on the forum to do it for you.
You may be able to get something from using Oracle Text, if that suits your needs.
Alternatively, if you're looking to write your own thing then you would need some way of parsing the question and ignoring certain common words that you're not interested in, picking out just the words you want and then searching the relevant columns for those words.
