Smilies software for 6110 nav

Not sure if this is the right place to post - so sorry if not.
One of the things that bugs me about my 6110 Nav is the lack of smilies in sms's. (silly thing I know)
Found this bit of software on the Nokia software site
http://www.softwaremarket.nokia.com/?product_detail_s60.html&;pID=3107&uaid=269&lang=en
Now I get confused very easily when it starts talking about A-SMS and GPRS stuff so can anyone answer me this...
My OH has a 6300 which has smilies already avaliable in his txt messages.
If I got this software would he also need it to see my smilies and everytime I sent him a message would I end up connecting to the internet and costing me more money?
Also, if he sent me a "normal" txt message with smilies does this bit of software mean that I would be able to see those smilies?
I'm with o2 in the uk if this helps.
Sorry for the long (and confusing) post.
Thanks for any help.

Hi nr46,
Blimey didn't realise this thread would still be around!
The software is called animated SMS or A-SMS.  You can get it from:
http://www.zensis.com/          or here
http://www.myasms.net/index.php
Mine's a really old version so not sure if this has been updated or not but it still works really well.

hi peoples i have a n 6110 navi i'm in badly need of an update only prob is i just bought a mac and can't seem to get the software updater can somone help me rgards chris

Unfortunately, there isn't presently a home solution for Mac users, you will have to have it done at a service point. If it's to solve a problem and your phone is still under warranty, it won't cost you.

  • N80 for Sat Nav

Can someone help? Im trying to use my N80 for sat nav device is this possible? Ive loaded a larger cap mem card with Tom Tom 5 software and installed in phone. While I can find all individual files on phone I cant get the programme to run. I've been at this all morning and have no hair left!!

TomTom Mobile 5 is not compatible with the N80. TomTom Navigator 6 is though
I was worried about the battery life, and another post here confirms my fears.
The Nokia GPS receiver communicates battery life with the N80's S60 3rd and is also cleaper than the TomTom one.

  • 6110 navi GSM connection problems

    Hi there,
At home, my 6110 navi won't send or receive calls or sms. The weird thing is that :
    1) the network sensitivity is at the highest (6/6) since I live downtown
    2) I can easily get a connection in GPRS
    3) My former phone (which was also a nokia) didn't have such a problem.
Still, no way to call or be called ! Anyone has ever experienced such an issue ?
    thx

Ok, I'll try to elaborate on that by myself ...
Is there a link with the network setup ? Actually, I can choose between GRPS and GSM. I heard that GRPS was relying on GSM for voice calls but maybe it's not... So, is there a chance I get rid of my problem by setting up manually my mobile to GSM ?

  • Tom tom software for N95 8GB

does anyone know if the tomtom sat nav software for the n95 is any good because it is the most downloaded application for the phone but it is a real pain to install so i havent bothered. anyone out there ever done it ? or can you suggest some other sat nav programs.

The current version isn't great because it hasn't been updated in well over a year.  They are supposed to be working on a new version but haven't heard anything about it for ages.
You should try Garmin XT it can also be a bit of a pain to install but garmin support will help you out.  The easiest to use is nokia maps, you do have to pay for a navigation license but unlike the others map updates and maps for other countries are free for life.

  • Windows vista, Ipod shuffle 4th gen.  Computer cannot find device driver software for ipod.

After several hours trying the troubleshooting options provided by the apple support site, I have come to what I think is the issue here.  My girlfriend recently got an ipod shuffle and when plugging it into her computer the dialog pops up saying it is installing device driver software for the ipod.  Eventually it asks me to insert the CD that came with the ipod.  No CD came with the ipod, so I click the option that says "I do not have my cd".  Then it gives me the option of searching automatically or manually for the driver software.  The automatic way can't find it.  Doing it manually, with the help of the troubleshooting page, didn't work either.  google search can't seem to help me on this one.  Also, I tried plugging the ipod into my computer (not hers) and it worked fine, it was able to install the device driver software on its own.  Does anybody know the issue here?  My computer has windows 7, and hers has vista.  Hers is Serice Pack 1.  When I tried installing service pack 2 it wouldnt work.  I don't know if that is the issue though.  I have tried just about everything, I think the issue is finding the device driver software.  When I do a google search nothing comes up, so I have no idea what to do at this point.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Well its surprising to know that! But even  have an ipod shuffle 3rd gen n dint face any problem like that. FYI no cd comes with the ipod jus take ur ipod to an apple exoert n he will solve ur problem .

  • Software for HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP is not currently available from the Software Update server.

I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, and found that I could no longer print to  my HP CM1312nfi.
This is usually a problem with HP at every upgrade, but this time, they appear to have offloaded the driver download process to Apple.
My printer is connected wirelessly through a time capsule by IP address—the physical, not the virtual, e.g: 169.254.xx.xx instead of 10.0.1.x.
When I try to download the driver by bonjour or IP, I get the following error message:
Can't install the software for the Hewlett-Packard HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP because it is not currently available from the Software Update server.
Is this truly a Software Update server error, and if so, any clue when it will be resolved?
I am able to print with the generic driver as of now, but fax and scan capabilites are gone. The add fax dialog  lists no devices.
Scanning is not supported on my printer model with the Hewlett Packard Print 2.12 driver. Will support be forthcoming, or did Mountain Lion brick my scanner?
Thanks for your time and attention.

Of course, once I posted this, I tried again and downloaded the driver without issue.
My second question still stands, however:
Scanning is not supported on my printer model with the Hewlett Packard Print 2.12 driver. Will support be forthcoming, or did Mountain Lion brick my scanner?

  • Cannot install HP Officejet 5610 software for windows 8

    Hi there
    I am running Windows 8 (64-bit)
I have downloaded the HP software for the Officejet 5610 All in One. When I try to run/install the software, however, it tells me that the file is corrupt.
How do I get around this?
    Thanks,

    Hi there
I can print - the drivers downloaded automatically when I plugged the printer in - but I need the HP Solution Centre Software - I do a lot of scanning and need it for that.
I have still been unable to install the software. It took over a day to download/save the installation file (AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_140_408), which is supposed to be 412 MB. Only 358 MB downloaded. When I run it, it says file corrupt. I am running windows 8 on a brand new, top of the range Dell How can I get this software to download? Thanks!

Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

Network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. or try again later." and next to the file it has err = -3259. I have tried this 17 times and it won't work. My iTunes is completely up to date. I have made sure that my connection is fine and I have tried turning my firewall off with no avail. This has happened to me before but usually the update will go through after 2-3 tries, never to this extent. I don't know what to do. Help!

Error -3259 is a network timeout error, usually. This article might help:

look around the forum tons of people repport that they can't update

    Many Thanks, Kurt.
I knew I'd seen the solution you've provided somewhere - either in MacWorld or MacFormat - but couldn't remember the Gatekeeper bit!
I shall save it somewhere VERY safe now in case this happens again …
You have made an old man very happy and saved me from worrying that senile decay had suddenly set in. (I was 70 last week so you might understand the situation from that.)

  • I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

Apple only supports Windows on certain hardware.
    http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.
    http://refit.sourceforge.net/
This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.
