Hi all,
Can any body have an Idea about SMS development?
Right now I am planning to develop an application which gives the users Bank Transaction.To do this application I written some servlet programming for server side operations.The problem is mainly about the mobile user Interface(Using SMS)for originating and terminating the message from user side(Gsm Mobile phone).
To test and upload the application what way I have to follow?Can you have an Idea about sms emulators and other stuff?

Removing sms indicator from original BB SMS program file?

I downloaded "Crunch sms" and I quite like it.
My problem is, I obviously still have the original sms program on my phone and every time a get a new message(sms) I get the red star indicator on this sms link and the crunch sms app. In actual fact, this is still OK because I can just hide the file so I don't see it, but what irritates me, is that a yellow/orange sms cloud indicator with number will still show on the top of the menu screen after a have read the message using the crunch sms.
How do I get rid of this?
Is there a place where I can hide the original sms link in or way I can disable the indicator on this one only?
I do appreciate your feedback.

I had the same problem and it is solved in other topic (but I don' know how to input the link).
There is something to do with the firwall in the security option (filter sms).

In the meantime, how about contacting the people who wrote that library and asking them nicely for help (rather than trying to order people to drop whatever they're doing and jump through hoops to accommodate your every wish as you're doing here)?

Why doesn't this web-based SMS service let us send messages to short-code addresses or extra-long phone numbers?

Hey, every SMS program that runs on a standard computer (I mean rather than a tablet computer) that I've ever seen won't let us send SMS text messages to short codes--such as a radio station at 57500 or whatever. My phone can do it, so why not here? So Verizon, will you please upgrade it so that it will do that?
Also, the same question goes for international numbers (yes, the site would make our account pay for those, right?), where 011 and then a country code longer than 1 digit (like longer than our 1 here) are needed. Yes, messaging done on the Verizon site does not go against your allowance. The phone number you put in is so the recipient will know who it is from and can respond. If they respond to your phone number, and you get the text on your phone, that would be charged to your phone. I believe if you use a nickname, it will be sent to [email protected] and not go through your phone number.

Missing SMS Information

I have the new iPhone 4 and everything is fine apart from an intermittent texting/MSMS issue.
Regulary when I receive a text message I have an issue. When I open it the top blue bar is blank, it does not display the name of the sender or anything else and I am unable to go back to the main SMS page which lists all of the texts from different people. The only way for me to get out is to wait for a text from a different person.
Restarting the phone or selecting add to contact etc makes no difference. I registered the phone again as a new phone but the problem persists.
Any suggestions?

Have any of you tried even a Soft Reset?
Was the SMS program in the T3's ROM, or did it install from the CD? If from the CD, try reinstalling.
Last resort is always the Hard Reset, after renaming your /BACKUP directory on your PC.

N82 Animated SMS and Predictive Text Problems

I've just got a new N82 and think it's a great phone. I downloaded and installed the Animated SMS program from Nokia's software site and have a couple of problems! The first is that I've set my left direction shortcut to come up with a New Message, now it lists SMS, Email and MMS but no A-SMS, I have to go through the message icon in the main menu. The second problem is that when I open the A-SMS application up and I do use and like Predictive Texting, it doesn't work! Everytime I push a button to start texting nothing displays on the screen and SPELL comes up over the left softkey. Turn off Predictive Texting and it works, very annoying. Anyone else had any problems and anyone know a solution? Have contacted Nokia who haven't got back to me yet.

Not receiving SMS texts on Blackberry Tour anymore

I can send and people get my texts, but now cannot receive them unless I use the Crunch SMS program. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

I've seen this asked before. The CrunchSMS application sets a permission on your device and if you aren't using that application it needs to be changed. You need to contact the developer to determine what permission should be fixed.

Extremely sluggish SMS typing? is there a fix? this is terrible.

Almost everytime I get a SMS and hit "reply"...it loads up SMS and when I type the letters respond they VERY VERY slowly. I have to exit out of SMS program, and then restart it...what gives?
Anyone had the same experience?? Will Apple just give me a new phone???

Try holding the home button for about 5 to 8 seconds every time you close down an app. The screen will go blank and then your home screen will pop up. This will fully close the apps down. Even os apps should be closed this way until they come out with a firmware update. For some reason aps are not fully closing as Apple had said they would to reduce memory and cpu usage. That is what is causing your lag. Mine was horrible until I started doing this for all apps. Making sure you do a hard reset after every sync/back up helps a lot too. When you turn the phone on after the hard reset it will have a tiny bit of lag as the os loads into the memory, but should clear up soon after.

SMS forwarding and Business Cards ?

Does anyone know if Apple ever plans to update the SMS with the ability to forward messages and also send contact info...?
I cant seem to find any news in this area - been waiting a long time for a solution on this but seems like there is no word about this in their upcoming firmwares.

Error updating Reader to 8.1.6

Is anyone else getting a version not found error while upgrading Adobe Reader 8.1.5 to 8.1.6? I've also tried updating 8.1.4 from an administrative installation point but I get the same error.

Option 3:
     1) Installed from an 8.1.3 patched incrementally to 8.1.5 and an 8.1.5 AIP created with Adobe source files, and customized with the adobe tuner.
     2) attempted to patch via SMS (using DFS links, not Distribution Points,) verified patch failure by running with the classic double-click method on a few test machines
     3) Cried in defeat
Curiously, I've discovered that the patch works if it's run locally, but does not work if it runs from a network share. I think my solution is probably going to be to write a script that copies it to each machine before running the SMS program with elevated privileges.
EDIT: looks like I was mistaken about the deployment scenario, our current production machines were actually reinstalled with an 8.1.4 AIP, and that seems to be the breaking point. A new installation from the 8.1.3 AIP can be patched up to 8.1.6, no matter what incremental patch level it's currently at. Seems to be a mismatched product code issue?

Issue with multiple application installation and server share

SCCM 2007 SP2 R3 ICP2
All servers W2K8R2
I am having an issue with software installs. When using a variable for multiple applciation installs, I get access errors when the applications go to install. It appears to be a multiple connection issue, but I can't figure out why.
I am using server shares for my DPs. The proper permissions are set. The servers (DP) are W2K8R2. I think it has to do with the way R2 handles the conenctions. I want to know if this is a known issue or if anyone has come accross
it.

Hi! I'm waking up this dead thread but I've got a *very* similar problem!
I've got a SCCM 2007 SP2 R3 installation on Win2008. All clients are in the same ConfigMgr-site. Multiple package deploy in the same site-boundary as the CM-server works excellent. (We've got three DPs in the same site-boundary as the
CM-server itself.)
Now, we have a new site-boundary with it's own Protected DP where multiple package deploy fails
but the same packages, being run from the task-sequnce works! So then the client can download, install and run the packages from the proteced DP just fine. All "single" packages install fine before the "Multiple Appliaction"-step.
I've tripple checked that we're running the same packages when we're installing Multiple Packages as we do in the Task-Sequence. And
the same Task-sequence with the Multiple Package installation step
works fine in our site-boundary where the ConfigMgr-server is installed.

I know that the TS checks package dependencies before executing the TS. That's not possible with Multiple packages since they are variable dependant. I think this is somehow related although it doesn't explain why my client can't authenticate properly.
The Network Access Account is a member of Domain Users and Domain Users have Read Access on the share and on the folder of the VAXCMDP01 DP - which should be identically configured to our other DPs closest to our ConfigMgr Server.
Any ideas?

Third party charges

I would like to know if anyone has had issues with Verizon paying 3rd party vendors monthly charges from your Verizon account? I am interested in knowing how you handled getting these charges stopped or are you currently being charged?

Sounds like you got stuck with some "Premium SMS" charges - you can block that from happening in the future. I was about to give you the steps to do it yourself on line but it looks like you'll have to call Customer Service and have it blocked - here's the pop-up message I get when I tried to do it myself:
Block Premium Messaging
Premium SMS (PSMS) Blocking prohibits adding premium fee based messaging programs to the selected mobile number while allowing all other messaging services (including text and MMS) to work as usual. PSMS Blocking will terminate all current Premium SMS programs at the time the blocking feature is activated. No credits or pro-rating will be applied to the Premium SMS fees already incurred. All messaging services will continue to be billed per your Calling Plan and Messaging Bundle or at the standard messaging rate as applicable.
Any charges you have already incurred you'll have to deal with the third party....but you can call CS TODAY and no more charges will pile up. We've had the block in place since we got hit by these unscrupulous companies several months ago. I was lucky (apparently) and the charges were reversed, and we have the block in place now so we are not getting any more charges. Others have not been so lucky.

A bubble with an exclamation mark

I have this icon of a bubble with an exclamation point right beside the battery icon that I can't get rid of. When I'm at the home page, it's gray. But when I enter any menu, it turns orange. I don't see it affecting the performance of the phone, but I still want to know what it means and how I could get rid of it. Thanks so much!

I´m now pretty **bleep** off on Nokia because they haven´t fixed so you can recieve AND send smileys in a phone that costs around 6000:- (SEK) This sucks BIGTIME I think!!!
I´ve used the N95 and the N96 and I´ve paid for the "**bleep**" A-sms program that was horrible just to get and send smileys (but my friends couldn´t read them), and now I can´t use that because its S60V3...!
How can we tell NOKIA to shape up and make the AvatarSMS (for example) available in every country not just only in Hongkong.....
Yeah, you read it right, the Avatar SMS program exists and it works on N97 but you can´t send it in Sweden or other countries other than Hongkong!!!!

Great topic, nearly every reply has made me laugh. Everyone enjoys a smiley, its so much better to put your point across in a smiley other than :-) etc, as doing this on the N97 on the flip out keyboard takes an amazing 6 key presses and all you get is :-) A smiley is so much easier to read, thus why id say it was invented.
As for smiley's being aimed at 12-15 year old's, yes the younger kids may use them more, but ive been using them since they first came out. Msn wouldnt be the same without them either.
The N97 may have features other phones are lacking, but in my personal view i will never own a Nokia ever again after this disaster of what is supposed to be a "smart phone" No wonder the N97 mini and N900 have been released within 6 months of the N97's release. Also being a UK user i have been shafted shall i say in the firmware update stakes. Perhaps i will be able to update to the new V2.0 next year by the time my network operator approves it.
