Third party charges

I would like to know if anyone has had issues with Verizon paying 3rd party vendors monthly charges from your Verizon account?  I am interested in knowing how you handled getting these charges stopped or are you currently being charged?

Sounds like you  got stuck with some "Premium SMS" charges - you can block that  from happening in the future.  I was about to give you the steps to do it yourself on line but it looks like you'll have to call Customer Service and have it blocked - here's the pop-up message I get when I tried to do it myself:
Block Premium Messaging
Premium SMS (PSMS) Blocking prohibits adding premium fee based messaging programs to the selected mobile number while allowing all other messaging services (including text and MMS) to work as usual. PSMS Blocking will terminate all current Premium SMS programs at the time the blocking feature is activated. No credits or pro-rating will be applied to the Premium SMS fees already incurred. All messaging services will continue to be billed per your Calling Plan and Messaging Bundle or at the standard messaging rate as applicable.
Any charges you have already incurred you'll have to deal with the third party....but you can call CS TODAY and no more charges will pile up. We've had the block in place since we got hit by these unscrupulous companies several months ago. I was lucky (apparently) and the charges were reversed, and we have the block in place now so we are not getting any more charges. Others have not been so lucky.
Good luck to you....

  • IPhone 4 Warranty, Third Party Charger Errors

    Hi All,
I am experiencing problems; speakers not working for iTunes, constant "This Acessory Not Optimized" message popping up, and charging difficulties, all likely due to a third party charger.  I am hesitant to send my phone in under the warranty, frankly because I don't have faith in my local Verizon representatives.  Has anyone sent their phone in under the 1-year warranty in similar circumstances?  What were the results?  Did they charge you for damage, or is this sort of error beyond that range?
Any and all advice would be valuable.
    Thanks,
    -C

Trust me if you have not had it the 14 days, The iPhone your going to want to return asap, I had mine on Friday and retuned it on Monday, It is cute mind you, However the keys as you aleready most likely know are so small your going to constantly make corrections as it will type in the wrong letter, I hated mine so bad I almost ran to the truck to return mine, and the battery life they say lasts a month, pfffft, it is most likely will last you a day if that, Mine in sleep mode went from 3/4 over night to null,
The iPhone is actually one of the best smartphones in terms of touch sensitivity and correctness when typing. Just because YOU can't type on it or have large fingers, doesn't mean other people will have the same problem. And I don't know WHERE in the world you heard that the battery lasted a whole MONTH. That's insane! There's not a phone in the world whose battery lasts a month. A day is actually a long time for a battery to last with a smartphone.
I am the one that posted about the month long battery, I had to redo my so called address to come back in and reply, notice but they deleted one of my emails I mentioned. it might have been a defect in the phone, However I was told those pens do not work by one rep as asked, as I would have used it longer, and for the battery? another rep told me that she only charges hers once a month and it had a  long battery life, I did think to self, hmmmm a whole month she is filling me full of organic material Like I tried to post once, It could be very well the phone and I am not ruling it out as far as trying it maybe some other time, It just was not what the rep sales pitch was, I do think they could improve on the headset or the wired piece as that gave me a ton of problems using it, but again it could have been the bad apple in the bunch, {No pun intended} but I returned mine fast, Just was really more then I needed and again the sales pitch was very different then what I received, and I can honestly say each person you call pretty much has a different approach, like today I got some results on a re-order by asking to speak to the supervisior, But wish all you that have it good luck, Just was not the kind of phone I liked, oh yes, another rep told me it had to feel the heat of your finger to click on the key pads, that is why she said the pens did not work, however noticed someone in the car a friend using one of those pens on her samsung galaxy she got from T-Mobile, and no, no way on this earth am I switching carriers

  • When I use a third party charger, my iPhone beeps

I bought a third party charger for my iPhone 5.  Within 5 minutes of attaching, the charging icon oscillates between its regular size and a larger size.  When the  icon is in its enlarged state it beeps.  Any ideas?

Don't use that charger. That charger is evidently causing a problem.

  • How can i view third party charges to my account?

I received  a text message that a third party charge was made to my account and I could view it online....how do I find it?

Have you registered with my Verizon so you can access your account online?
its easy and gives you access to everything on your account, including billing details.
If you select my Verizon at the top of the screen, it will prompt you for the information needed to do so.

  • Charging from a third party charger

I am using a third party charger, but my itouch stops charging after about 3 minutes no matter how much juice is left. I have recreated this numerous times. Can I NOT use non-apple chargers??

yeah i know you mean the ipod touch - some people on here do get a bit 'touchy' (all be it in a jokey manner), if you'll pardon the pun when people refer to them as the itouch.
you didn't say you were using the USB connecter which came with it, you said you were using a third party one. if it isn't charging properly with the provided USB cable then that is a different problem. could be a battery problem, could be a cable problem. you would probably need to go to an apple store to get the to check it out (unless you have another ipod USB cable lying around the house)
when they refer to faster USB, they mean USB 2.0 ports, which are found in newer computers, i'm not entirely sure, but i believe they are faster and allow more power to the peripheral device than the older USB ports did.

  • Macbook Pro: Third party charger??

Hi! I can't seem to make up my mind. Should i save some money and buy a third party charger for my macbook pro, or should i just buy an apple brand charger?
    Thank you for reading!

    Apple Brand Charger.

  • Should i use a third party charger or the apple charger

    for a white macbook

Use a genuine Apple power adapter.
Third party chargers use inferior parts and often bear fraudulent markings from consumer product safety agencies. Using them can be hazardous to you, your MacBook, and other property due to the potential for fire, electric shock, or damage as a result of exceeding the MacBook's power supply tolerances.
It is very difficult to determine if a charger is an actual Apple product from an external inspection, and an internal inspection revealing its deficiencies destroys the adapter. If it's on eBay, it is very likely to be counterfeit.

  • Iphone 5 not charging after using third party charger.

I know there's a lot of threads that discuss this topic but I haven't found someone who has the exact situation as mine.
I broke my original charging cable and replace it with a third party thunderbolt cable. It charges once by fluctuating all the time. Now my battery is 0% and the third party thunderbolt cable doesn't work. I decided to replace it with an original thunderbolt cable but it still doesn't charge. It doesn't show anything even the battery symbol. Just blank off screen. I also let it plugged as I hope that it just needs to charge the battery because it's drained but I guess that's not the case. I'm charging via the wall charger.  I also tried to connect it in the usb port of my computer and it still doesn't work. Any fixes that you guys can recommend? I am on a panic right now. . Technically this cable should work as this is the cable from apple. Thanks.

Yes I'm well aware of patents but I have used third party chargers fine with all my previous iphones. I can buy replacement third party chargers to all my other electronics, why is it that apple has to tie me into using their charging cable, it is anti-competitive and possibly an illegal practice.
If you aren't going to offer helpful advice, then please don't state the obvious!! I wasn't aware that cables were under warranty, so being in a position that I couldn't afford another apple charger I have used another charger which has by the looks of things broken my phone. So again can I do anything to try and fix it? Does anyone know whether I have a case against the manufacturer of the 3rd party cable? Is apple being anti competitive? Id appreciate helpful comments please.

  • Spurious Third party charges

This is the second time in the last couple of months that I've received a spam text with a short code, saying £1.49 or similar each week will be taken from my EE account, because I've supposedly signed up for a subscription for some game.I don't play games on my phone and would never click on an ad for games. In both cases, I've never even heard of the companies involved, and certainly haven't subscribed to anything. The only way to cancel is to text or ring a premium rate number, 67888 or 0808 234 8679.The companies involved are Gameloft and Buongiorno PlayPlanet.I don't see why I should have to ring premium rate numbers to cancel a service i haven't requested.EE refuse to do anything about this, even though they are the ones taking the money. Any ideas, how can I get EE to stop taking money from my account everytime a spammer third party sends me these texts. And how are they getting my phone number - is EE selling the numbers to them?

I called EE and told them I didn't want this third party service, and not to take any money. They just say it's nothing to do with them, and i need to contact the third party. Funny how it's nothing to do with them, when EE are the only ones who have my bank details, and they are the ones taking my money. Why should I have to ring a premium rate number to cancel a service I didn't request. I should just be able to tell EE. And to answer someone's question - no, I didn't inadvertantly click on an ad. They have acquired my number from somewhere and have just added it to their subscriber list. But as they are probably based abroad, it's difficult to do much about it.

  • I use a third-party charger (Sharper Image) for my iPhone 4S. Before today, it worked fine, but it hasn't been working lately. I've gotten lucky sometimes when the phone would charge, but when I take the charger out and stick it back in, it won't charge.

Any tips on how to fix this? I don't think my phone is the problem; it's something in the charger. I just don't know what?

Yup - that would work as a test. What you want to do is to isolate the problem, so if you can test that cable with a different device, that would be the ticket.
Just an aside....I have found that even my authorized Apple USB cable that I use normally for my iPad, is not always being recognized by my iPhone since I downloaded iOS 7. If I remove it and reconnect it, after one or two tries, it does recognize it. I know the cable is fine, because as soon as I get done with the phone, I plug it into my iPad (running iOS 5 - it's an iPad 1....) and it, without fail, connects.
So, I think with iOS 7, the connection logic is a bit more sensitive and sometimes is just not making the connection when it should. I am certain that it is iOS7 because the issue very clearly started occurring after I upgraded. It's a bit annoying, but eventually it always works, so just a bit of a nuisance. Just wanted to share that with you in case a couple or three tries might get it to connect.... (this also is happening with my Bose speaker that I dock my iPhone on to play music during the day. Again, I am certain it started happening after iOS 7, so the two seem to be connected to me....)
    Cheers,

  • Unauthorized third-party charges

What would happen if we don't pay our bills until Verizon tells us how much it owes us in unauthorized charges? It's been two months now, and Verizon hasn't even acknowledged missing its own deadlines.

I don't know, but I'm dying to find out.  Why not try it and report back (by regular mail of course, since if you refuse to pay your bill you will not have Internet access)?

  • A "VZW free msg" says a phone on my account "made a charge with a third-party vendor ... ."

This evening, I got a "VZW free msg" alerting me that a phone on my account had "made a charge with a third-party vendor." This is the second such message I've gotten this billing period. The messages are identical. My bill for the current billing period won't be ready till this weekend, so I have no way to track down any details. The phone belongs to my wife, and I am absolutely certain that she has not billed anything to her phone. The maddening thing about these messages is they give no details. Who's the third-party vendor? How much was the charge? What did my wife supposedly buy? No such details appear in the text message, and I can't find details anywhere on the My Verizon site.
This text message does add: "For details or to block such charges: www.verizonwirel." (That's correct as written—I presume some of the message got truncated. That's how the message appeared both times.) However, I can't find any documentation about how to block these charges.
After I got the first of these messages, I called Verizon's customer service number (800.922.0204). A very pleasant gentleman noted my concern and checked my account. He found no such third-party charges, and he advised me to look carefully at my next bill. I left it at that until I got the second message this evening.
Speaking of customer service: This evening, I tried twice calling Verizon's customer service number. Both times, the call ended with a recorded voice telling me, "I'm sorry, but your call cannot be processed at this time. Please try your call later." Huh? Why not an offer to leave my number for a call-back? They as much as hung up on me. Not impressed. And, by the way, why doesn't Verizon post their customer service number on the Web site? I had to dig up the number by way of www.gethuman.com.

Contact us on every page has the number.
*611 from your device works as well.
That third party stuff is probably "cramming" Verizon just got hit with this practice which is illegal.
The law states you can call Verizon up and have them place a permenant block on third party services.
They cannot refuse and you do not have to pay for them.
Notify the FCC http://www.FCC.gov or the Federal Trade Commission http://www.FTC.gov

  • Third Party Inspection

    Dear QM Gurus,
Here is a scenerio in Quality inspection.
during the manufacturing at some stages inspection is required but this inspection is not performed by my client...they consult with third party and third party do this inspection and submits the report.for this type of inspection they manage the cost incurred also (b/c third party charge price for inspection).
how to map this scenario in SAP? does any can give any idea?
    Regards

    Hi'
This is possible by customizing a Notification called "Customer Inspection".
You can trigger this inspection manually & Process the same by customers feedback. All the document related to inspection you can maintain here.
Also other option is that you can do Inspection by Inspection type  89.
You will have to manually create the inspection lot.
This will give you list of all lots for customer inspection in QA32.

  • Third party mains char

I after a mains charger so i could charge my zen v plus via mains power, i've found one but not sure if its ok to use
    http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/7777.htm
or is there one that you guys have that you can recommend?

The USB connection is supposed to be a standard that is uni'versal, at least in theory, as many manufacturers have strayed from the standards to accommodate their own devices. The power portion though, is generally complied with, so if the wiring is correct, there shouldn't be any harm done to your device.
Secondly, there are so many third party USB chargers coming out of various sources in China, about the only way that you can find out if the one that you purchased will work is to give it a try. It would also be hard to recommend a specific brand of third party charger since the vendor's source could be a changing one, though those from recognized brand name third party vendors are generally tested to some degree so that the company doesn't incur liabilities for damage.

  • Telstra's Third Party Purchases SCAM

On my 03Dec-02Jan bill, I have been charged $65.25 for "Third party purchases"from "Openmarket Pty. Ltd." These charges were for me receiving 14 text messages from a company I did not know or request any service from. I have complained at my local Telstra shop and been told that the charges were linked to my "Premium SMS" service - a service I never requested from Telstra. I was also told that Telstra was simply forwarding these charges to me - and the shop manager had no reply when I pointed at the bill's letterhead and said that no one else was charging me money for unsolicited services. I have reported this scam to the Telecommunications Ombudsman (TIO) and also to my MP Lucy Wicks. I am appalled that Australia's national telecom provider should be an accomplice to this disgusting attempt to rippoff customers.  Please report here if you have also been subject to this scam.

Hi Alantun0I have just received my Telsytra Bill and there is a third party charge from Openmarket Pty Ltd for 16 Messages at a cost of $75.25. From the conversation with Telstra I beleive they are aware of this Company and the Scam it is operating but this was not directly admitted. However given the information I have found on the web they are aware of this scam. Tesltra's line of reply was that it must all be my fault. However I did not ask for these messages to be sent to me and I did not subscribe to them as was indirectly suggested. Telstra said they were only passing on the charge they had received from Openmarket Pty Ltd. I pointed out that if that was the case and it was nothing to do with Telstra and they were only passing on the charge there was no reason why they they could not remove the charge from may bill and ask Openmarket Pty Ltd to bill me direct. As you expected this logic received no reply from Telstra. Telstra are to call me tomorrow after aparently talking to Openmarket Pty Ltd. This is clearly a Scam that Telstra will have been aware of for some time and it would seem that they could have done something about by now. If no joy then I expect the next stage will be formal complains to Telstra, Openmarket Pty Ltd and the Ombudsman. If still not joy then we can only vote with our feet. Regards Chrispip.
