SMTP Account Display E-Mail Address Sending Problem

I'm having a problem sending e-mail with my SMTP account setup. In Outlook Express I could set up an account with my domain name e-mail displayed as the reply-to address (which in turn is forwarded to my ISP account), but use my ISP account user name to both send and receive. In Mail, I can only send if the displayed/reply-to e-mail address matches my ISP user login name. Is this a limitation of Mail, or is there a way around this problem? And it's a big problem!

    The outgoing mail server may be rejecting mail from your network address. Typically that happens when your mail service provider is also your ISP, and you connect to it from another network. The SMTP server will allow connections without a password from anywhere, but it will only relay mail from within the ISP's network. It could also be that your account on the server has expired or been suspended.
    If you need to send mail from outside your ISP's network, use an independent mail service provider. I don't have a specific recommendation.

  • Why won't Mail 8.1 access my SMTP Account for Yahoo mail?

    Today a brand new problem.  Incoming mail from my Yahoo mail account to Mail v8.1 is fine, but Mail cannot login to or send via the SMTP account for outgoing mail.  When I run the Mail Connection Doctor all it tells me is I am connected to Yahoo! POP for incoming, but not to SMTP for outgoing.  It all worked yesterday.   Any idea what is happening here and how to fix it?

    I have many accounts by one Mail Address...So i want to know How i can close all accounts but leave one only for my using??

    I have somewhat the same problem. Over the last few weeks, Mail would not receive messages. When I quit and reopened, it would receive for a while and then stop again. Actually when I wanted to quit, I had to do a Force Quit. When I checked the Connections box, all my accounts (two) had the message that they were connected and loged in. I think I can send mail because I sent a test message; I couldn't get it with Mail on the Mac but I did get it with the iPhone. I am using Earthlink as my ISP. I do have quite a lot of messages in my inbox (I am very busy doing something and haven't taken the time). This is very frustrating. I can get my mail through the Earthlink Web Mail but that really doesn't do what I need. Since I can get messages through Earthlink and my iPhone with same account settings, I think it is something in the mail app. Also, Mail hangs and won't quit.

    I have had issues sending email from Thunderbird since the migration of emails. I currently have my outgoing server set at smtp.mail.ovi.com
    Last week I tried changing some settings on Thunderbird as it would not send any emails. I then received this responce:
    The current command did not succeed. The mail server for account *******@ovi.com responded: [LIMIT] APPEND failed - Unusual Activity Detected. To protect you, your account has been suspended from sending, saving, and receiving for up to 48 hours.
    This morning I changed the password on my account through ovi.com and then changed it back. I managed to send one email through thunderbird and then I got the above message again when it tried to move the message into the sent folder.
    Now I can receive mail but not send. When thunderbird connects to send my email it does not verify my password. All I get is Login to server smtp.mail.ovi.com failed.
    Any thoughts?

  • Managed Account - No E-mail Address Completion

    I have a managed account for my son. The account has been enabled to access both Address Book and Mail. When addressing a new e-mail message, you start typing the person's name and it auto completes. However, when you hit tab to accept the address it results in a blank result - nothing is left in the To field.
    Is there a managed account setting that I'm missing? All e-mails in his address book have already been tested and he has been authorized to send e-mail to those addresses. I would like to be able to set it up such that he doesn't have to type the full e-mail address anytime he wants to send e-mail.

    I too just purchased a new 8500A printer and am having trouble with the ePrint Email Registration.
    I'm connected via ethernet and I'm able to access the WebServer and print to it and everything.  I have applied the downloaded product updates with no issues.
    When I try to activate the WebServices to get an ePrint Email address...I either get a "Unable to connect" error...or it DOES connect but never prints my ePrint document.
    I've reset the factory WebServices settings and tried again with same issues.
    BUT NOW...I can select the "Print Email Address" option and the display will "BLUE SCREEN" and then all lights flash with a "Please turn off and back on" error.
    AND Now I cannot access the APPS option from the main screen either...saying it can't connect to hpeprintcenter.com.

  • Displaying E-mail Address

    My ISP just changed over the e-mail server they use to gmail. The e-mail address that I give people ([email protected]) is forwarded to my ISP's e-mail ([email protected]), and when I send, I want to display the noskimmers.com address.
    Up until now it has worked fine, however my e-mails are displaying the dslextreme address and not my company's address. I checked in the preferences and it still shows all of the correct settings.
    HELP!

    They are saying that since mac mail will not allow me to put the address in the SMTP, and they now use SMTP authentication. This is ******* me off to no end!

  • Broadcasting Wizard - Last e-mail address selected problem BW 3.5

    I'm using BW 3.5, and I'm trying to select an e-mail address in the "last values selected" in Broadcasting Wizard screen, and when I click in one of the e-mail address, it results only "on", instead of the e-mail address I want.
    Steps:
    1. In a web report I called the context menu
    2. Distribute -> by e-mail
    3. In the broadcasting :
        - output as Zip File
        - Next
        - click on "Last values selected"
        - In the list of e-mail address I selected one of them
        - It returned "on" instead of an e-mail address.
    Another questions:
    - Is it possible to delete some e-mail address from the list "Last values selected" ?
    - Is it possible to select this e-mail from a user customized list ?

    Thanks for replying.
    This notes reffers to e-mails address truncation at 30 chyaracters, but in my case when I access the screen where I can select the e-mail address, my default e-mail is showed ok (and has more than 30 characters).
    The problem occurs if I click on the "select last values" button, and select one or more e-mail address from the list.
    When I accept the selection and return to the previous screen, the broadcasting wizard show only the text "on", instead of the address I choose.
    Have any idea ?

  • Google Mail SMTP Account Failure & Apple Mail

    Hello,
    Every once in a while the SMTP login for my gmail accounts fail in Mail. I'll get an error message like this:
    "Trying to log in to this SMTP account failed. Verify that the username and password are correct."
    I use 2 factor authentication and app specific passwords so I'm not sure if this is the issue. In any case, it is a pain to have to go and reset all the passwords every time this happens. This doesn't seem to be an issue with my iPad just Mail on my mac mini.
    Does anyone know what causes this? and how I can prvent it from happening?

    If you have a Gmail account and you've activated 2-step verification, you need to generate a new "application-specific password" in your Google account and enter it in place of your old password in the Keychain Access application.

  • Mac Mail with yahoo plus account difficultly  with account reconditions and outgoing serving sending problems

    I'm not exactly a techy.  I have been having real trouble using YAHOO and now YAHOO PLUS with service useing the MAC MAIL application.  This problem started a few weeks back in LION OS and I had apple support and the guys at the genuess bar give it shot and they always improved things but the problem persisted. I had apple care as recently as last night.  After I got of the phone with the gentlemen I started having problems with the outgoing servier again. We even looked into the keychain for problems.  This morning I downloaded OS 10.8 and MAIL is running better but yahoo is still buggy.  Often either the password is not reconized or the outgoing mail can not be sent from the yahoo server.  If I directly to yahoo.com and use their site I don't have this problem so it must be either a compadablity problem. 

    It can't be a software conflict, because Mail is only connecting to a mail server for Yahoo!, so there's no software conflict to be had.
    Your profile says you're running 10.4.1, and the latest release of Tiger is 10.4.11; is there some reason you haven't updated to that version yet? By doing so, it will also update Mail to correct any bugs or security flaws that could be causing this problem.
    Even if that's not the problem, you should try opening Mail while holding down the Shift key. Then Control-click in an empty area of your mailbox list pane and select Get Info from the contextual menu. A window will open and you should use the popup menu to select that Yahoo! Mail account and see if it will connect and tell you how many messages are there, and you should be able to download them from that window.
    If that doesn't work, post back with your Yahoo! account settings for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.

    I am sending Sales Order Output to the Email.
    I have configured the output type Using Option 'External Send' Option.
    But the Problem is Whenever there are blocks for Sales Order Email Should not be send.
    1.    When there is a block in Sales Order Header, then no email should be sent.
    2.    Similary when there is a block Sales Order Item , then no email should be sent.
    There is some standard routine attached to Outputtype Procedures .
    First Condition we can met using routine, in the routine if the block is there , then no output will
    be triggered.
    But in the same routine we couldn't able to capture item level data to validate the second condition.
    If anybody is having the idea to validate second condition, Please help me.

  • Outlook 2010 additional account same server - mail not sending

    Hi,
    I have setup a new domain (child.domain.local) and a second mailbox for the boss on our Exchange 2010 server.  I have created a new User account in the new domain for him and a new mailbox in Exchange.  I have given Send As and Full Access permission
    on the new mailbox to his original user account ([email protected]) and added the new mailbox as an additional account in Outlook 2010.
    The new mailbox is visible in Outlook with emails addressed to the new email address but when trying to send from the new email address the email just sits in the Outbox, despite sending and receiving completing fully with no errors.
    Any ideas what I am missing please?
    Also, I have disabled the new user account in ADUC in the new domain ([email protected]).

    Yes, you are right. OWA works well but Outlook not, it seems like an issue on the Outlook Client side.
    Our emails stuck in Outbox without errors, this problem is likely to be related to our local Outlook configuration.
    If Outlook is not sending only some Outbox emails, please make sure we don't have the habit to preview/open/click on Outbox emails.
    If Outlook is not sending any of our Outbox emails, please try one of the following methods:
    1. Please make sure Outlook is not set to the Offline mode.
    2. Run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs, add-ins and firewall.
    3. Our Outlook data files may be corrupted. Please performing a data file scan via Outlook ScanPST tool.

  • New Computer & System Mail & Address Book Problems

    I just got a used G5 with OS 10.4.6 installed. (I have the DVD for 10.4 from another source.) Two problems:
    1. I wanted to import my addresses from my address book & didn't see an option to do that, so, on the advice of a friend, I replaced my new address book with the old, from system 10.2. Now the address book doesn't work at all. Is there somewhere from which I can download or copy another address book for this system (10.4.6)? And if I was able to get a new address book, how would I import my addresses from the old address book?
    2. I'm trying to import my old mailboxes to my new mail program and it's not working at all. I click on the import button, get to the right files, it tells me they're imported, but then they don't show up in the mailbox list at all, even under the import area. There seems to be something wrong with my mail program. I also tried to add a new mailbox and it told me that it failed.

    Where did you get the 10.4 DVD, and is it a retail (boxed copy) or one that is specific to your G5?
    on the advice of a friend, I replaced my new address book with the old, from system 10.2.
    Bad idea, since it won't work. Don't listen to people who don't know what they're doing or have no experience troubleshooting Macs. That's the path to the Dark Side.
    You need to reinstall Address Book from your 10.4 DVD, assuming it will work on your system. You can try this:
    1. Insert the Mac OS X 10.4 install disc, navigate to the Optional Installs folder and open the Optional Installs.mpkg file, There should be a checkbox to install Address Book; check it and install it.
    2. When it's done, eject the installer disc and then use Software Update to update your system to 10.4.11.
    3. When those updates are done, select all your contacts in Address Book from 10.2 and export them as a vCard. Copy that vCard file onto the 10.4.11 machine, open Address Book and choose File > Import > vCards (Command-O), then navigate to that vCard file, select it and click Open, then wait for the import to finish.
    4. Make a backup of your Address Book immediately using File > Backup Address Book, and anytime you make any changes to your contacts (adding, deleting, modifying).

  • Mail proxy send problem

    We have a BM 3.8 SP5 server that is doing mail proxy for a GroupWise 7 SP3 server. Yesterday, after a BM server reboot, we can only send to a limited number of domains. Most mail sent out comes back as
    Undelivered mail : Unknown user: ..............
    I tried a different DNS server address on the BM server, but that didn't seem to make any difference.
    Also, I should mention that the BM server seems to hang for several minutes when trying to load brdsrv.nlm on restarts.
    I am not the one that originally set this up and I am not sure why we are using mail proxy as we have several free public IPs.

    Don't use Mail Proxy then!
    For inbound, set up static NAT and filter exceptions. Turn off Mail
    Proxy. For outbound, be sure GWIA is not using a relay agent, so it
    will use nat/filter exceptions.
