Snytax to connect multiple routes in LabVIEW

Hi,
i'm using a 64-relays-matrix with my NI-PXI-2567 module. It's includes an 3x18 matrix with 3 channels for 18 pins.
To make it easier in LabVIEW, i created routes for every posibiliy: CH1_TO_PX , CH2_TO_PX, CH3_TO_PX (X represents a number from 1 to 18)
For example, if I want Pin 1 connect to CH1, Pin 6 connect to CH2 and Pin 15 connect to CH3, the following routes need to be switched: CH1_TO_P1, CH2_TO_P6, CH3_TO_P15.
Question: What string do i need to connect to the "niSwitch Connect Channels(Mulitple).vI" to make this work?
I tried it like this:
Unfortionatly, the error message says that there needs to be at least one arrow (->) in the string.
Doens't Labview take the String from the Route Setup? (see marked string in first picture bottom right)
What is the correct string that I need to use?

The thing that you are configuring in in NI Switch Executive. You will need to connect using NI Switch Executive if you wanted to configure the routes in MAX. See below for more information on using switch executive.
NI-SWITCH uses the channel names that the device has at default. If you choose to use NI-SWITCH you can only use a string such as "ch0->com0" using the default names of the device.

How to connect multiple DAQ in labview

Hi,
I have a question about connecting multiple DAQs to the labview.
So, currently I have two NI 6210 DAQs, each with 16 channels. I would like to simultaneously collect data with 32 channels, so I plugged both DAQs into the USBs on my computer. I am wondering which function block that I could use to look for and combine the data from two DAQs in Labview? Currentlly I used a DAQ assistant to read data from one of my DAQs. I tried adding another DAQ assistant block, and then merge the two blocks, but it doesn't work.
Please advise. If there is any similar post, I would really appreciate if you could direct me to those.

That may not work with M series cards (unless NI changed something on me). Last I checked, M series and older needed to have seperate tasks to run, meaning you would need two DAQ Assistants.

Connecting Multiple TMS570s to LabView

Hi Everybody,
I'm setting up a project where I need to control and collect data from ~10 TMS570s simultaniously using a laptop.
The control of the TMS570s will be include the setting up of the internal time stamp and a simple test to ensure all is working.
The rest of the time will be taken up by data collection which will not stress most communication types though the data will be arriving randomly from all 10 TMS570s. The main concern here is over data integritiy and also the timeliness of data collection.
The communication peripherals offered by the TMS570 are:
-FlexRay
-CAN
-SPI
-I2C
-USART
-SCI/LIN
-Ethernet (EMAC) .
If you have any recomendations please let me know.

Airport is connected to router but no internet

I have seen many forums and posts on this and nothing seems to help so i will explain my own situation and see if it helps. I am using white macbook, purchased from the apple store in september '07. I am running os x 10.6.8. The router i am using is a D Link DIR 615. The line of connection is as follows: cable from wall to modem, modem to router, and devices connect to router via wireless.Here is my dillema. Airport connects to the router, full bars, i get internet conection for about 2 minutes, then i get nothing. Airport is indicating that I am still connected to the router, and I have an IP (not the 167 or self assigned, it says im good to go). For me to get back on the internet i have to turn off the airport, turn it back on and reconnect to the router. I have tried to renew DHCP lease, i can when connection is good but after the 2 minutes i can't. I tried taking the network off my keychain to where i would have to type in the password each time, that didn't do it. I changed the password on the router, as well as other settings, that didn't do it. The reason this puzzles me and make me believe that it is my own airport is because multiple machines in our household work fine on the router, including a macbook pro form either 09 or '10, an iPhone 3G S, and an android smart phone. other people have come over and used our wireless with no problem. My computer is the only one that does this. And the shame of it is, I am a graphic designer and I use my computer the most in the houshold, and I need the internet connection the most. if anyone has any idea, and I am completely open to giving more information if you need it. I understand it could be extremely technical and it is already beyond my reach.

Any chance that the little AirPort antenna in the back has become dislodged? Try powering down everything on the network including routers and/or switches, wait 10 minutes, turn it all back on and see what happens.

HP Deskjet 4630 e won't connect to router

I have tried every method suggested for setting up the wireless connection between router and printer. I have succeeded in getting the printer to function using a USB but wish to print wirelessly.
The printer does not "see" the router. I have one question, is the SSID the same as our network name? Or is it the name on the back of the router? I've been inputting the name we gave our network and that password.

There are no SSIDs listed at all?
From another wireless device as the computer or a smartphone can you see more than your router's SSID or is this the only listed network in your area?
(In order to deny any issue with the wireless radio of the printer.)
If ther are multiple networks in your area but the printer sees none, try printing a Wireless Test Report and let me know the results of the test. That can be done by following Step four: Print and evaluate a Wireless Network Test below:

A dual band router is a router who transmit in both the 2.4 and the 5.0 GHz bands, as I can see by your router specifications it is not a dual band router.

Problem:
When I set up a wireless and wired bridge my Internet connection works perfectly and I can connect to the second SSID. If, however, I close out of my browsing session and come back to my laptop several hours later and open a browser, I get the “webpage cannot be displayed” message.
I suspect this has to do with IP addresses changing from the main router after a certain amount of time.
What could be causing this?
What can I do to stop this from happening?

Running multiple router behind router can be tricky and may be the cause of your dropouts if you don't have it configured properly.
Cisco recommends using your best router as your primary router and DHCP server.
The best way to setup for home networks, in my opinion, is to use only one router, and put the other router(s) in bridge mode. Also, make sure your modem is not a router too.

Connecting multiple ColdFusion 10 instances to a single Apache 2.2 server

This is replicated from StackOverflow's "Server Fault" site. The CF community there is under represented, so I'm posting here too. Sorry for "cross post".
This is on Windows 7 Home Premium edition.
I have got two ColdFusion 10 (updater 2) instances: "cfusion" (the default one), and "scratch".
I have got a single instance of Apache 2.2 running.
Within Apache, I have set up two virtual hosts, each of which needs to be served by a different ColdFusion instance.
Each of the CF instances serves files fine via Tomcat's internal web server. Apache serves vanilla HTML files fine too. So both CF instances, and both virtual hosts separately work OK.
I can get wsconfig.exe to connect either one of the CF instances to the Apache server, and serve CF files via Apache & that instance.
However I cannot find a way of connecting the second CF instance to Apache as well, so that both CF instances are conected, each serving one of the virtual hosts. WSConfig doesn't seem to understand the notion of "multiple CF instances", and the changes it makes to the httpd.conf (via mod_jk.conf) does not seem to be implemented in such a way as to accommodate multiple CF instances talking to a single Apache instance, or multiple virtual hosts. I freely admit to not being confident enough with how mod_jk (or even really httpd.conf) works to be able to guess if I can change stuff to make it work.
If I try to add the second CF instance using WSConfig, I just get a message "the web server is already configured for ColdFusion". Be that as it may... not the instance of ColdFusion I want to connect it to! If I remove the existing connector to whichever instance is already connected, I can then connect the other one no problems. Not that this helps, but it demonstrates that the CF instance can connect to Apache.
This all used to be fairly straight fwd under older versions of CF and JRun :-(
The only docs I have found are on the "Connect multiple Apache virtual hosts on a web server to a single ColdFusion server" page (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ColdFusion/10.0/Admin/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811cbf364104-7fd 5.html), but that specifically only deals with a single CF instance. There is no equivalent page for multiple CF instances.
I'm kinda hoping I can move some of the mod_jk config into my virtual host entries in httpd-vhosts.conf (this is how it used to work for JRun), but I've no idea what to put where.
I think I've covered all the necessary info here? If not, sing out and I'll add more. Thanks.

The answer to your question is Yes, a single mediator can invoke two service calls at same time as well.
First, define your service references in the composite.xml
Once you have done that, you can add any number of routing rules for each operation defined in the mediator. In your case, you will need to add two static routing rules within the same operation in the Mediator file. You can also select whether the calls will be sequential or parallel by selecting correct value in the dropdown inside the routing rule. Each routing rule will invoke one service reference in your case.

Acquiring Analog Input from Multiple Channels in Labview

i am working on a VI where i need to acquire signals from multiple channels in Labview using NI-9129.Initially i want to acquire contineous input signals (voltage and current) and display it on the graph.
Having looked at forum and Labview examples i tried to make an initail VI but i am not sure if the setup i made needs any modification to serve my purpose.I am fairly new to Labview software.
All i want is
1.To acquire conteneously current and voltage
2.Display current and voltage individually on the graph.
3.Perform some basic calculations like MAXIMUM,MINIMUM and AVERAGE values of voltage and current.
4.Log the data into excel file
I have attached the VI i made so far.i need abit of advice if i am moving in the right direction or not.

Yes, you are logging directly to a TDMS file. This is definately the best route for data logging from a DAQ. The currents and voltages will show up as different channels in the same group.
To add more channels, just add them to your DAQmx task. The logging will handle it with no issue. Your calculations will also a little work to add the extra channels. Same for the graphs, since you are using seperate charts.

How do I connect WRT54GS Router to Talk Talk MT882?

I was able to set up my Talk Talk wired SmartAX MT882 modem but I now want to use my Linksys Wireless-G WRT54GS Broadband Router but it can't connect.
I entered the Talk Talk setup using the setup cd.
I then used the Linksys setup cd to connect the router.
But part way through the setup I get a message saying:
The router is not able to connect to the internet. Try turning the cable/DSL Modem Off and back On again.
Did that and nothing changes. Still the same message.
I've seen on a couple of forums that you should change the internet connection type of the SmartAX MT882 to Pure Bridge and the Linksys WRT54GS to PPPoE.
That doesn't change anything.
After having connected the Modem to the computer with the Ethernet cable vis the ethernet port I then take that out and place it into the internet port on the router and connect the other ethernet cable from one of the numbered ports(1-4) on the router to the ethernet port on the modem.
It seems that the modem has to be connected directly to the computer?
I'm completely stuck on what to do.

To get the Huawei SmartAX MT882 and the Linksys WRT54G to work together, you need to disable a DHCP server on one of the two (cause they are both routers, in this case we will disable the DHCP on the WRT54G). First leave the MT882 turned off and disconnected from the network for now. Connect to the WRT54G at http://192.168.1.1 with username and password set as "admin" unless you changed it beforehand. On the first page disable the DHCP server and change the address of the WRT54G to 192.168.1.200 (We are going to keep the IP within the same subnet as the MT882 but outside the range of the MT882's DCHP range). You will also need to switch the Advanced Dynamic routing on the WRT54G to the Router mode meaning that there is another router on the network. Also in the advanced dynamic routing mode turn on the the Dynamic Routing (RIP) to LAN+Wireless because we will plug in the MT882 into the LAN port (Not the WAN/Internet port) of the WRT54G. Disconnect from the WRT54G network. Plug in your MT882 directly into the computer via Ethernet or USB and log into the administration panel via http://192.168.1.1 if connected via Ethernet or http://192.168.1.2 if connected via USB. User name and password are both "admin". In the MT882 administration in the advanced setting turn on/enable RIP (Dynamic routing) for eth-0 (its most likely already enabled for ppp-0, ie. your provider, but now it is enabled with the Ethernet too). Now connect the MT882 Ethernet cable directly into one of the WRT54G's LAN ports and connect to the WRT54G with your computers via wireless or lan. Now once the computers are connected they will ask for an IP address and the WRT54G will forward them to the MT882's DHCP server for an address and thus you will get multiple computers through wireless connected to the MT882 and the "Internet". Good luck.

Unable to connect to router

Last night I was watching some random video on youtube on my laptop when suddenly I lost my signal. This happens often when I stream multiple videos, usually just an unplug and replug of the router's power cord does the trick. Didn't work this time. Annoyed, I tried to reinstall my router for a fix (is usually my last resort) but at the part where it tries to find the router I get this "Unable to connect to router!" message. I can still seem to connect to the internet with the router on the desktop, but my laptop doesn't even read my wireless. Pinging the router I get time outs, IPconfig gives me a 71.59. instead of a 192.168. I can't connect to the router configuration through 192.168.1.1 at all. I tried unplugging absolutely everything and reseting the router but I'm still stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

Hard reset router for 1 minute and reboot it. Check if IP address is 192.168.1.xxx or not.

Multiple Routes Single Delivery

Dear SD Experts,
Leveraging on the org element "Transportation Planning Point" I see a need for multiple routes in the sales order depending on the shipping points from where product is loaded and send to the TPP finally for consolidation (e.g. goods are loaded from more than one plant-warehouses and then sent to a single place for further exports as in common in export scenarios. A delivery and invoice is then created for the whole order
Can someone explain how do I ensure delivery group correlation in in such a case

That was indeed reassuring because thats the current state but that complicates the sales order process with having to manage a plant other than delivery plant which is not the port.
Is there any other simpler possibility e.g. of calling it something else other than TPP or logical plant (e.g. Transportation Connection Point) so that it lends itself to both objectives of a more robust route determination while capturing the fact that TCP is a port or a rail siding or a customs border where I can maintain times and calendars for scheduling the loading dates at shipping points (of delivery plant)
I would appreciate SD consultants view on this. I am not from SD scheme of things but am really interested in a route determination logic that I can use for conditional scheduling in APO

Can't connect WRT54GL router to Motorola Surfboard cable modem SB6120

I can't connect my router (WRT54GL) to my new cable modem (Motorola Surfboard SB6120).
Some info:
1) Cable modem works perfectly when connected directly to computer ethernet port
2) ISP is Optimum Online
3) Using Automatic DHCP setting on router
4) Using MAC cloning on router
5) I can access the router's admin screen from the PC
6) I can connect to the router wirelessly, but no internet access
7) I've tried powering down everything multiple times, still no internet access
8) I upgraded the router firmware to 4.30.14
9) The "link" light on the cable modem never lights up when connected to the router
10) This is very frustrating

Disable BFD in multiple Router Sub interfaces that participates in OSPF

Hi team,
Please help me on this. Here is the scenario:
We are on an enterprise set up and running on 100+ routers.
We have 200 to 300+ sub interfaces for virtual circuits
Our protocol is OSPF over MPLS
One of our provider in LA encountered link flaps on SONET causing our LA router that is directly connected to that link to recalculate multiple times.
Recalculation of OSPF routes caused disconnection of users in LA VM's.
We were advised by our provider in LA to disable BFD so minor link flaps will no affect recalculation of routes.
We are now tasked by our design team to Disable BFD in multiple Router Sub interfaces that participates in OSPF.
My questions are:
What is the implication in disabling all BFD in routers' interface and sub interface?
Will this improve recalculation of OSPF routes in cause of link flaps or it will totally ignore the link flaps?
Will the routers only recognize a "full down" status of the interface?
How can we Disable BFD in multiple Router Sub interfaces that participates in OSPF in a faster way? Or do we have to do this one by one?
Please advise before we present this to the CAB and implementation. Thank you.

Answer: the implication would be eliminating sub-second millisecond convergence.
BFD detect failure at the link layer very fast , once detected it informs the upper layer protocol about the failure causing it to converge immediately.
Will this improve recalculation of OSPF routes in cause of link flaps or it will totally ignore the link flaps?
Answer: if your Provider experiencing intermittent flaps, then yes it will be advisable to turn BFD off. this however doesn't totally ignore the link flaps, once the upper protocol detect the failure based on the dead interval parameter on OSPF, it will recalculate OSPF routes again. Keep in mind, if you have redundant or more links to your provider , then I wouldn't recommend disabling BFD , as it should improve Convergence and you shouldn't notice the failure.

Answer: disabling BFD allows the router recognize a full down status once the upper protocol dead interval occurs or full down status of interface. which ever occurs the earliest.

You can disable it one by one. or if you have configuration management software, it allows you to do it for all nodes at a time. but this depends if you have it or not.
Please consider not to disable BFD if you have multiple OSPF links towards your provider from any branch, as it shouldn't impact your VMs, it should rather improve Convergence at milliseconds which is absolutely not noticeable.

Multiple versions of labview on 1 computer

I have just purchased LV 8.2 and am about to install it on my computer. The old version of LV I currently have on my computer is 7.1. Can I run both versions on the same computer or is it beneficial to take off LV 7.1 first before installing the new 8.2. Any opinions?

You can certainly run both versions on the same computer. I have 6.1, 7.1, 8.0, and 8.20 installed on this machine and I regularly have more than one version open at the same time.
However, Paulo is very correct by saying that toolkits typically only install for one version of LabVIEW and that you need to be careful not to open your VIs in the wrong version of LabVIEW. If you were to open and save a LabVIEW 7.1 VI in 8.20 you would be unable to open it again in 7.1.
