So I just updated to the osx and it had me log back into my i cloud and I hit I forgot my pass word and now it's taking forever to load and I need it. And it won't let me shut it down . What do I do?

This worked for me an hour ago and has allowed me to sync ok. Still haven't tried downloading the new version 5 to the phone yet as I'm still backing up photos etc just in case.
1. Quit itunes
2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command Prompt -> Run as Administrator)
3. Once in the command prompt type the following 3 words starting where your cursor is flashing: netsh winsock reset
4. press ENTER
5. Reboot your machine
6. Restart itunes & connect device to sync
7. Good luck

What id shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app ? You could try tapping on the id there and logging out of it and then log back in with your account - if your friend downloaded any apps then those apps will be tied to her account, so only her account will be able to download updates to her apps.

A window is frozen on screen won't let me shut it down
was logged into shutterfly i brought up my photos and it froze my pictures on the scren i cant close the window anything that i do
You can force-quit the browser or an application by choosing to select and quit using this menu option under the Apple icon in finder.
Then, see about discovering the cause of the freeze up.
And if the computer is totally frozen, you may have to
try & make it shut down the hard way by pressing down
the power button until it quits. Not the best thing for it.

i just updated to the latest aperture, i have projects previously saved on a drive (in the old version) that now won't load... how do i update them?But, unless I missed something, you are doing the repair with Aperture 3.5 so if 3.5 can't open an earlier library before doing the upgrade then unless I'm missing something the library will be upgraded before the repair is run, no?

You got me there, Frank - I wondered about the same thing, but Aperture is behaving differently, when upgrading a library, depending on if you are launching into the First Aid Tools or not.
I repeated my experiments, to explore this difference:
I restored an Aperture 3.4.3 library and launched the First Aid Tools:
Apertur went directly into First Aid Mode without first asking to upgrade.
Then "Repair" asked to be allowed to upgrade the library as you predicted.
During the upgrade "Aperture"showed "Rebuilding", not "Repairing" or "upgrading".
Second experiment: When I only double-click the 3.4.3 library instead of repairing, the upgrade alert is very different:
It takes a shorter time and does not show "rebuilding".
I am quite certain, that Aperture will use a different upgrade prodecure, when launched into the First Aid panel for repairing or rebuilding. -
My Iphone 4 just updated to the iOS6. I've connected it to my computer for the first time since then, and wanted to back up my photos in iPhoto. However, although Iphoto recognized my phone, it shows no photos to upload or backup. It lists my phone in the "devices" category on the left bar, but no longer shows any of my photos.
Does anyone have any suggestions?I've reread your question several times and am not sure I understand it.
Are you trying to basically start over, as if you just took your iPhone out of the box? If so, do:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase all content and settings -
So I just updated to the newest update that was available for safari and iTunes but now it won't let me go on the Internet using safari and it also won't let me sync my songs ,,,,,(it takes forever to backup my iPad AND my iPod) so what can I do ?

Itunes 10.6.3 - Just update to the new Itunes and the album artwork is not sticking anymore... I upload the artwork and when I change songs and go back the art is gone. Anyone with similar issue ?
I have this issue. Album artwork was totally fine before. After this update, it is all messed up and even got messed up when transferred to my iphone.
iTunes doesn't have the artwork anymore, but then iPhone has it but shows wrong artwork with wrong albums.
Please fix! -

I'm in the same boat: new to OS X and Mac, and in the middle of a book. I switched because I heard about the the ease of using Mac, but so far, for me, it's been a nightmare. I bought 2011 Office Mac and hate everything about it, the most recent being the inability to open or cut or paste any of my original word files. I understand that this could have easily been done with earlier versions, but not Mountain Lion (which I learned is what OSX is.) Since I work with language, I am amazed at the assumptions of the Apple community. It helps to use common language and explain even the basics.
So all the helpful hints to use the latest version of Office Mac are to no avail. Now what? -

You calendar info should also be mirrored on your computer. Use the option to replace all events on the iPod with the info on your computer during the next sync. You can find this option in the info pane, Advanced section.
You can also use the latest backup to restore from, it contains the calendar info as well: iTunes: About iOS backups -

There is no need to do that, I had the same problem pal! Just do this and all should be fine!
Delete one of the app's and re-install it, then for some reason everythign is restored to as it was!
