SOA Clustering - Create cluster after domain creation

Hi all,
I can't manage to find out how to properly move a standalone soa server into a cluster created after the domain.
I would like to do the following :
1. Create a domain without any cluster --> All soa server deployments target a unique managed server
2. Create a cluster afterwards and associate the soa managed server to it
3. update all targets of soa server deployments to target the cluster instead of the initial managed server
--> I'm looking for a solution to do step 3 in a clean and automated way (That's looks a bit strange and painful to open every deployment and change the target one by one)
I run WLS 10.3.5
Thanks for your help.
Philippe

You can probably try by cloning the server1 to server2 and that way have everything from server1 to be replicated on server2. Once server2 is created, then create the cluster of soa servers and then update the deployments to be deployed on all the members of the cluster rather then individual servers. You can perform these steps from the weblogic console and record the setps to generate WLST script for the same. Once the scripts are created, you can tweak them up a bit to have automated script to perform the steps without human intervention.

• Create multiple SOA Clusters in a single domain?

Is it allowed to create multiple SOA Clusters in a single domain with both SOA Clusters sharing the same soa-infra schema but deploying different composites?
Create a domain with
- Admin server (AdminServer)
- SOA_Cluster1
-soa_server1
-soa_server2
- SOA_Cluster2
-soa_server3
-soa_server4
SOA_Cluster1 will need to deploy servcies A, B and C and SOA_Cluster2 will have services A, D and E. Is there any documentation which can help us with this?

Thanks for the document link but it seems that the document was created only yesterday. Can you elaborate on "only one set of SOA schemas is allowed per SOA domain/cluster". I was able to build another SOA cluster_2 to my existing domain with SOA_cluster1 pretty successfully. The only problem was the internal JMS queues were configured as Uniform Distributed. hence i was not able to point them to 2 clusters.

• Multiple SOA clusters within a Single Domain

Hi All,
We're looking at a scenario where there would be multiple SOA clusters within a single domain. Would that be possible to do? I mean I can create multiple SOA clusters but it seems that applications deployed to one of the 2 SOA clusters seem to go into an inconsistent state. Please advise. Thank you.

This is just because all SOA servers in a domain will refer to one(same) SOAINFRA schema for SOA deployments info and hence belong to same logical group (cluster) and that's the reason why you cann't even have two separate SOA managed servers without a cluster.

• Create Template After Website Creation?

I have backed my self into a hole my fellow dreamweavers. You see, I created a website with about 10 pages (its a podcast page - not dynamic, though it should be...). Then I learned about how cool dreamweaver templates are. I know how to make a template, I know about editable regions, and I know how much time templates can save you if you just need to change one thing in the navbar. Right now, if I want to change one thing, I have to copy and paste it to all 10+ pages. But I want to create a template by duplicating the homepage, making the header and navbar and footer non-editable and deleting the body. Then new pages I make I will use the template. However, my problem lies with the pages that have already been created. How do I convert them into being updated by the template? Seems to me there should be an easy way to do this, but maybe most people aren't noobs like me. Is there any way out of this? Thanks in advance.

There is a *pretty* easy way around this:
1. Open a non-template controlled page
2. Spawn a new child page from your template (you now have two pages open
3. Copy content from the old page to the new page
4. When done, close the old page, and save the new page over the old page (i.e., with the same name)
This is guaranteed to work with no problems.

• Weblogic servers directory not getting created in the domain directory

Hi
I installed weblogic 12c(12.1.1.0) and then ran the config.sh to create the domain/managed servers directories.
After the config.sh completely ran I am not seeing the servers directory under the domain directory. All other directories like config, bin are present under the domains directory.
If anyone can let me know for weblogic-12c if they have come across such a issue during installation/configuration please reply to this thread.
Thanks
BharanB

Hi,
Weblogic servers directory do not gets created after domain creation or even managed server configuration. It will present itself only when you start the managed server for the first time, that is when it initializes all security attributes, diagnostic attributes (if configured) , etc..
Perform server start and then check if it gets created or not.

• How to Create one more SOA-INFRA under the same domain in weblogic server

Hi All,
Can anybody can guide how to create one more soa-infra under the same domain. In order to maintain my composites to be deployed into
different domains, I need to create one more soa-infra and deployed all the composites under that one.
Please let me know if any demo is available for this activity to be gets completed.
Regards,
CH

Hi Vijay,
There are several composites which needs to be deployed and maintained in the server. So, we I'm trying to maintian
by deploying composites into 3 different SOA-INFRA's so if one is not accessible, we can look into it and others can access the
composites from another SOA-INFRA instead of creating domains.
Let me know what will be feasible way to perform this activity.
Regards,

The reason for this is most likely that either
1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or
2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to eis/DB/DemoConnection. In the last case you will have to add a new WebLogic JCA connection factory (deploy a RAR).

• PO not created automatically after creation and approval of SC

Hi all,
We are using SRM7.0 Extended Classic Scenario.
We are able to create Shopping Cart successfully.
For items where a source of supply is not supplied, the Shopping Cart goes through the approval process and then into the sourcing Cockpit.
But for the other Shopping Carts, PO is not getting created automatically after the approval of SC.
Any ideas/suggestions on this issue would be highly helpful.
Thanks,
Priya

Priya,
Can you check this configuration in Sourcing for particular PCat?
*Automatic requirement grouping; sourcing for items without assigned*
source of supply:
Then run the report BBP_SC_TRANSFER_GROUPED which will automatically group requirements together for
the creation of a PO.
And, If the requirement does not have a source of supply, it appears in the work list of the sourcing application for manual assignment. Once you have assigned a source of supply, you can submit the requirement to the report.
Let us know if it works, and should help you this one.
Thanks,
Rahul Mandale

• SOA Domain Creation Failed with FATAL Error

Hi,
I am in process of installing Oracle AIA FP. Before that I have to install and configure Oracle DB, WLS and SOA Suite with SOA Domain.
I installed everything with no error message. But when I am trying to create a new SOA Domain using './config.sh' from 'MW_HOME/Oracle_SO1/common/bin' directory, on second step where we select which components I want to add in my domain I selected following components;
1) Oracle SOA Suite
2) Oracle Enterprise Manager
3) Oracle Business Activity Monitor
4) Oracle WSM Policy Mmanager
5) Oracle JRF WebServices Async Services
6) Oracle JRF
7) WebLogic Advance Web Services for JAX-WS Extension
Note: All components are 11.1.1.0
As soon as I press 'Next' within 5-7 seconds a small windows pop ups saying *'A fatal error has occurred. This application will terminate'* with 'OK' button and 'config.sh' script finishes.
I am using AIX 5.3 and have following environment variables set before I execute 'config.sh'
export LANG=LC_ALL
export SKIP_ROOTPRE=TRUE
Also I just wanted to add that I installed it before and it worked fine and the I removed everything using 'rm -fr' and now reinstalling it again the whole thing.
Your help will be appreciated.

Hello Shiv,
I'm not able to log on to the default domain. If I creates a new domain the same problem apears. It is possible to build and deploy the TaskActionHandler in the new created domain?
Best regards

• Are there any WLST 11g Scripts to create an OSB domain?

All the ones I can find (forums, blogs, etc.) are for 10g. Things have changed since then, it seems. For example, most scripts contain something like:
addTemplate(workshop_home + '/common/templates/applications/workshop_wl.jar')
addTemplate(wl_home + '/common/templates/applications/wls_webservice.jar')
addTemplate(osb_home + '/common/templates/applications/wlsb.jar')
Since Workshop no longer exists, this fails.
11g doco is sadly lacking...
Thanks for any help.
Alph

I've also been attempting to create and configure an OSB 11gR1 domain using WLST and am also hitting some issues when adding the extention templates.
I think I've identified the required templates as the following:-
${middleware.home}/oracle_common/common/templates/applications/jrf_template_11.1.1.jar
${osb.home}/common/templates/applications/oracle.soa.common.adapters_template_11.1.1.jar
${wls.home}/common/templates/applications/wls_webservice.jar
${osb.home}/common/templates/applications/wlsb_base.jar
${osb.home}/common/templates/applications/wlsb.jar
The correct resources appear to be added but many of the deployments are wrongly targetted when using an admin + cluster topology.
I've found that the templates contain dependency references in the template-info.xml and dependencies are implicitly included when you use WLST addTemplate(). The wlsb.jar template is dependent on the other 4 templates so you can just add wlsb.jar and the others get pulled in for you or explicitly add them all (starting with the children otherwise you will see a template already added error).
I’ve tried various combinations of the 5 templates and essentially what I see is that the same apps and resources are always included but with seemingly random (and wrong!) targeting.
One thing I have noticed is that the domain template framework seems to have been changed between 10gR3 and 11g. The most relevant difference (for this issue) appears to be addition of “config groups” configuration files. I can’t find any docs on these but they appear to group applications, libraries and other resources according usage and/or deployment requirements e.g. OSB-ADMIN-APPS, OSB-ADMIN-AND-CLUSTER-APPS, WLS-WEBSERVICE-MAIN-APPS etc and I imagine that they are used during domain configuration to target apps at the correct servers and clusters. Perhaps some additional WLST function calls are required to ensure these are applied correctly?
If I use the domain configuration wizard then I can successfully create the domain so this is an option, but we'd rather have a fully scripted and repeatable domain creation process if possible. I expect that the config wizard must be using the same templates so there must be a way to script this?
Thanks in advance

• Unable to create cluster, hangs on forming cluster

Hi all,
I am trying to create a 2 node cluster on two x64 Windows Server 2008 Enterprise edition servers. I am running the setup from the failover cluster MMC and it seems to run ok right up to the point where the snap-in says creating cluster. Then it seems to hang on "forming cluster" and a message pops up saying "The operation is taking longer than expected". A counter comes up and when it hits 2 minutes the wizard cancels and another message comes up "Unable to sucessfully cleanup".
The validation runs successfully before I start trying to create the cluster. The hardware involved is a HP EVA 6000, two Dell 2950's
I have included the report generated by the create cluster wizard below and the error from the event log on one of the machines (the error is the same on both machines).
Is there anything I can do to give me a better indication of what is happening, so I can resolve this issue or does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thanks in advance.

I am having the exact same issue... but these are on freshly created virtual machines... no group policy or anything...
I am 100% unable to create a Virtual Windows server 2012 failover cluster using two virtual fiber channel adapters to connect to the shared storage.
I've tried using GUI and powershell, I've tried adding all available storage, or not adding it, I've tried renaming the server and changing all the IP addresses....
To reproduce:
1. Create two identical Server 2012 virtual machines
(My Config: 4 CPU's, 4gb-8gb dynamic memory, 40gb HDD, two network cards (one for private, one for mgmt), two fiber cards to connect one to each vsan.)
2. Update both VM's to current windows updates
3. Add Failover Clustering role, Reboot, and try to create cluster.
Cluster passed all validation tests perfectly, but then it gets to "forming cluster" and times out =/
Any assistance would be greatly appreciate.

• WLS domain creation errors using new release (v5)

I'm running into errors in Step 5 of the beta install. I've completely uninstalled the previous version of everything (including RCU drop/create) and done a clean install using the files on the beta site after the announcement of the new release was made this morning.
It seems that the version string entries in "schema_version_registry" created by RCU differ. The "User Messaging", "OWSM MDS" and "SOA MDS" schemas all get created with version string "11.1.1.2.0" but "BAM" and "SOA Infrastructure" schemas are created with version "11.1.1.3.0". The WLS domain creation utility runs queries for ALL schemas having version "11.1.1.2.0", so the BAM and SOA Infrastructure schemas fail the test.
Should I manually edit the version strings in schema_version_registry so they all match 11.1.1.2.0 or will this cause problems elsewhere?
Here are the failing queries that the "Test Component Schema" screen is running for the WLS Domain creation step:
SQL Test=select 1 from schema_version_registry where owner=(select user from dual) and mr_type='BAM' and version='11.1.1.2.0'
SQL Test=select 1 from schema_version_registry where owner=(select user from dual) and mr_type='SOAINFRA' and version='11.1.1.2.0'
These succeed:
SQL Test=select 1 from schema_version_registry where owner=(select user from dual) and mr_type='ORASDPM' and version='11.1.1.2.0'
SQL Test=select 1 from schema_version_registry where owner=(select user from dual) and mr_type='MDS' and version='11.1.1.2.0'

OK, I cleaned out all the old files downloaded fresh and did a complete re-install - now I'm getting an error about a missing file.
1. Installed WLS
http://download.oracle.com/otn/beta/bpmbeta1/wls1033_win32.exe
2. Installed SOA

3. Installed BPM/SOA patchset

The failure occurs on step 3 - while installing the SOA patchset it gives an error at 45% completion: "File not found - C:\Oracle\Middleware\home_bpmbeta\oracle_common\bin\commonenv.bat.template".
I checked and that file does not exist on the filesystem. To use 3 managed servers with Weblogic, I must a cluster environment.
Weblogic say: "WebLogic Integration domain that includes an administrative server and one or more managed servers must include a cluster. A WebLogic Integration domain that includes an administrative server and one or more managed servers without a cluster is an unsupported configuration."
