SOA Suite and File Adapter polling

Hi All.
Whenever I have a BPEL process deployed (didn't test whith ESB yet) that uses a file adapter tha polls for files in a directory, my SOA Suite is not able to shutdown properly, and it stops with error when it's time to stop the container that has the BPEL installed.
This is the error message:
There are some errors while stopping the following components. Refer to the generated error report for more details.
==================================================
ias-component: default_group
process-type: oc4j_soa
process-set: default_group
Error Message:time out while waiting for a managed process to stop
==================================================
Looking at OPMN log, I see that the managed process was forcefully shutdown.
Is this an issue, or a normal behavior, or do I have to implement some code in order to stop the BPEL process before shutdown?
I'm using SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 in a developer environment (Win XP)
Regards.
Denis

I applied patch 5964097 (OPMN PERFORMS ALWAYS A FORCEFUL SHUTDOWN IN 10.1.3.1) and it seems to solve the problem, at least for the BPEL scenario explained.

  • SOA Suite 11g File Adapter End Of Line problem

I am using a file adapter to read(using an NXSD to convert from flat file to XML) a file do some filtering and then write the file in the original format using the same NXSD.
The records in my file are separated by End Of Line. i.e. each line is one record.
I created a fixed length NXSD and it picks up '${eol}' as the cellSeparatedBy attribute.
When I read the file, it reads fine for both Unix(LF) and PC(CR+LF) formats. But when I write it automatically takes unix format most probably because the server is running on a Unix machine.
Now the problem is that when I receive a flat file in PC format, the output comes as Unix format. The end system can not process it.
    So, I tried using '
' (Equivalent to CR+LF) instead of '${eol}' as the value of attribute cellSeparatedBy. With this it is not able to read the file at all, if I keep it only '
' then it reads. It seems that while reading FIle Adapter automatically converts the file to Unix format first and then reads it with unix EOL.
As a work around I separated the NXSD for read and write, keep read NXSD with '${eol}' while keeping write NXSD as '
' then my problem is solved but now I have two NXSDs to maintain.
What I want to know is if there is a way I can use the same NXSD and still be able to write the file in PC format. May be some attribute or switch in NXSD which I dont know of to control the value of ${eol}?

    Hi Daniel,
you can try to use this adapter module:
    localejbs/SAP XI Sample/ConvertCRLFfromToLF

  • File Adapter polls all the files from the directory when deployed again

    Hi,
File Adapter polls all the files from the inbound directory irrespective of the timestamp when deployed again.
For ex. when the BPEL process with file adapter is deployed, it starts polling the directory based on the timestamp as and when the directory is written with the files. I did not opt for deleting the files after read by the File Adapter.
But, when BPEL process is modified and deployed again, this time, the file adapter picks up all the files in the inbound directory and doesn't consider the timestamp.
My guess is that it should not pick all the files but based on timestamp only.
I guess I can observe the same behavior if I bounce the Application Server also
Do I have an option to achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Sasi Bhushan.

    try this:
1- create a File object for the directory. (look at isDirectory() )
2- create a File[] that represents the files in that directory. (.listFiles())
    3- if (file[x].isDirectory()) {recursive method call;}
    4- else {
    process file;
If you want more help--do some work on it, and come back with specific questions relating to specific lines in your code and specific error messages you've been receiving.

  • Failing to assemble Downloaded Pre-built Virtual Machine for  SOA Suite and BPM Suite 11g

    Hello,
I checked the download checksum of the files downloaded for Pre-built Virtual Machine for  SOA Suite and BPM Suite 11g ( Pre-built Virtual Machine for SOA Suite and BPM Suite 11g ) and they all match checksums.
however, when I try to assemble them with 7zip, I get a corrupt error message.  I have tried downloading with Chrome and Internet Explorer.  I have also tried assembling the 7zip files different ways.
Is there anything else I should try?
Running on Windows 7, 64 bit machine.  (with lots of disk space).
Is there any other way to get the files?
    thank you.

    thanks for the response
I guess I will have to do that as well.
However, it defeats the speed with which can ramp up with the toolset;  thus slowing my time I can allocate to learning it...

  • I have SOA suite and Jdeveloper, what do i need more for BAM ?

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
I have installed both soa suite and latest version of jdeveloper
I can see BAM node under connections node but i do not know how should i add the bam server connection.
    so my questions are :
-should i install the bam server seperately or it come with ORACLE SOA suite?
-if i should install seperately, where is hould find it?
-if it is inside the SOA suite How i can activate it and add it to my Jdeveloper?
    thanks

\BAM is part of SOA suite, but BAM should be installed separately, Go to http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/index.html for details.

  • JCBC Adapter and File adapter not processing messages

    Hi
I noticed that messages are being delivered to Adapter engine and the same are visible in Runtime Workbench with status "to be delivered". But, JDBC Adapter and File Adapter not processing these messages.
Any idea where I can find the problem?
I was able to re-deliver successfully via the JDBC Adapter using the MessagingSystem GUI using XISUPER user.
    Regards
    Chandu

    Hi,
    1.Status: TO_BE_DELIVERED
Which means that the message was successfully delivered from Integration Server point of view and it states that the messages is initially handed over to the Messaging System.
TO_BE_DELIVERED occurs while the message is put into the Messaging System receive queue.

  • How to run the Oracle SOA Suite and all its prerequisites on different mach

    Greetings,
Due to the difficulty to run the SOA Suite and all its prerequisites, including JDeveloper, on a single machine, I would like to deploy the admin server, the soa server and the bam server on separate machines. Is it possible and, if yes, how ?
    Kind regards,
    Nicolas

    yes.
You can just install db + rcu + wlst + soa on 1 machine. After that you middleware should be up and running.
Now you can install jdeveloper + soa extensions on your client and connect to the remote location of the soa server
or did i misunderstood you ?

  • File adapter polling frequency is not consistent in SOA 10g!

    Friends,
I have used file adapter for polling files in a service in SOA 10G env. with polling frequency 3600 secs. However, i have noticed file polling is not happening at 60 mins interval, instead some times files getting polled in less than 30 mins but again after sometime its polling correctly in 60 mins interval. I am not sure what could be the reason but i need a solution urgently. Please help!

Could be the managed servers in the cluster are not in sync.
I faced DB JCA adapter sync issues because of Oracle soa suite bug.
You could check whether any sync issues are there with File adapters.

  • File adapter polling a folder and accepting a single document at a time?

    Hi,
Is it possible to make file adapter read a single file at a time though it is polling a directory that may contain more than one document?
In other words is it possible to make file adapter reading documents sequentially?
Do I need to put a queue to achieve this?
Queue will read the incoming documents and puts the documents to another directory one by ome so that the file adapter picks up only one file at a time?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    have you read

  • How to backup all database settings and data for SOA suite to file(s) ?

During the installation of the SOA Suite a couple of tables and schemas are created
in Oracle database through the irca.bat script.
Later the tables are filled with content by all the servers and services of the
    SOA Suite.
How can I backup all these tables and SOA related stuff to one (or more)
files (for a possible later restore)?
This backup should contain only SOA Suite related tables and data.
Possible other tables (for other applications) should not be considered.
Is there a script (e.g. for sqlplus) or menu which does the
SOA database backup job for me ?
If there is no official backup script maybe someone in this forum
    wrote a personal script.
    Thank you
    Peter

I am facing the same problem.
I have spend a few days to configure and train my Sony tablet to configure for all my remotes such as aircon and lighting. I did a backup using the Sony companion to my PC. When my tablet was faulty and serviced. But the backup did not recover the IR remote settings and codes which I programmed previously. I also tried your backup restore app but it also does not save the configuration.
It is VERY IMPORTANT for me to backup the settings.
Please provide the folders and path of where the IR REMOTE settings and personal configuration and codes trained were kept so that I could back them up. Are these path protected area that required rooted access?
Hope that Sony could update the app to include backup of new trained codes and settings and in the meantime to provide a procedure of how to backup the setting and trained IR codes with or without rooting the device.

  • File adapter polling and getting the file name 11g Jdeveloper

    I am using JDeveloper 11g. My process is something like;
A file adapter reads a XML file
This triggers the BPM process, file content is sent to start activity as message
I have to get the file name that is read by file adapter.
How to do that? Any help is appreciated.
I have seen couple of answers like bellow in forum but did not help me much
This is a very simple task in JDeveloper 11g, file adapters are linked to the receive activity, here there is a tab called Properties which you can use to extract the file name. Please follow the steps below:
    1. Create a Simple Type variable of string type, call it fileName_var or any name you wish.
    2. Open the Receive activity in your bpel project.
    3. Scroll down to jca.file.FileName and double click on the value column, click on the browse button (...), select Variable, then click the search icon
    4. Locate your recently created variable
    5. Now when your project runs it will assign the file name to this variable, you can use this same approach also to pull the directory, file size, etc.
    *************************/

    hi,
Like you said.. steps are simple and clearly mentioned in guide.
    1. create a variable of type string
    2. after configuring the file adapter , go to corresponding receive activity , go to properties tab
    3. search for a property with name as jca.file.FileName . This basically keeps track of file name
    4. for this property, give the value as name of variable created in step 1 above
    5. Use this variable anywhere in assign / transform

  • XI file adapter polling faster than poll interval

    Hi,
We are facing a issue with the file adapter/authorization of the FTPUSER.
We FTP a server and pick up a file from a particular folder.
My polling interval is 2 minutes
    My retry interval is space.
    Processing mode : ARCHIVE
We are archiving it on a Network attached server(NAS) mounted on our XI server.
When XI polls for the first time it picks up the file but the sender file adapter shows following error in RWB.
<b>2006-01-20 11:31:08 GMT: Error: Deleting of file 'ARUCSjnewb80.txt' failed - cannot proceed: FTPEx: ARUCSjnewb80.txt: Access is denied.</b>
The picked up file gets processed but at the same time just within 12-13 seconds of the first poll XI picks up the file second time and then in another 3 seconds for the third time.
After this the file gets archived thrice in the archive directory and then gets deleted from the source directory.
We are unable to understand why XI is polling  again  after few seconds of the first poll.(As per my understanding it should have polled after 2 minutes).
I am able to delete the file manually from the Ftp server.
Could anyone give a pointer towards what we are missing or what probable reasons could be?
authorization issue?( XIADM /ftpuser have full authorization)
    Some adapter setting?
    Regards,
    Sulakshana

    Hi,
Could you let me know how frequent the file gets loaded to the FTP server.
Is your file size too large to get loaded.. If so try to increase the polling interval. Also make sure that you have provided the polling time in sec and not in minutes...i.e for 2 minutes it should have been specified as 120 sec as polling interval

  • File adapter polls before the processing is finished in R3

    Hi,
Polling in sender file adapter is set as 4 secs. The problem arises when more than one  files with same Service Order number are uploaded and the corresponding IDOCs are simultaneously received in R3 system. As one IDOC is already processing the Service Order, the other IDOC fails as the Service Order is already being processed.
Kindly suggest if there is a way to resolve this issue.
