SOA Suite installatin type

Hi friends,
I want to learn oracle bpel process manager, so i am trying to install SOA Suite(soa_windows_x86_101310_disk1.zip) downloaded from oracle site.
Which type of installation is best "Basic or Advanced Installation". later i will install JDeveloper..

If you are just learning use the basic option.
This installs the dehydration stores automatically. It uses a light weight database for this olite, so it doese use too much resource on your PC. The issue is that the DB is not as stable and is prone to getting corrupted.
If you want to install advanced then use the XE database, not the Enterprise Edition. As this is a lighter weight and won't consume too much memory for your SOA Suite.
things you should note
A basic install installs everything in the home oc4j. The advanced installs the SOA suite into oc4j_soa, and the admin into home. There is a step in the advanced install that asks to made this an administration machine, make sure this is checked.

Cannot install PatchSet 10.1.3.5.0 on SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0

Hi,
I've downloaded Zip files "CD1" and "10.1.3.5.0 patch" (x86) from [Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.x) Downloads|http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101310.html] . After installing the former, the latter won't install: the error message (in French) basically says that none of the patches in this PatchSet need to be applied...
The PatchSet's readme file says: "This patch set is cumulative and includes all of the fixes from Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) Patch Set 1 (10.1.3.1.0), Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) Patch Set 2 (10.1.3.2.0), Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) Patch Set 3 (10.1.3.3.0), and Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) Patch Set 4 (10.1.3.4.0)."
I don't know why the patches won't take effect; maybe because I have Oracle XE installed, in a more recent version (10.2.0)? I'd appreciate any help on this.

The original error message is in French: "Aucun des patches de l'ensemble Oracle Application Server PatchSet 10.1.3.5.0 ne doit être appliqué."; it basically means "None of the patches in Oracle Application Server PatchSet 10.1.3.5.0 need be applied.". But I suspect it's got to do with the fact that I did not run the scripts as ORABPEL and ORAESB.
The initial SOA 10.1.3.1 installation instructions say:
"If you are performing an advanced installation of the J2EE Server, Web Server and SOA Suite install type, you must install the ORABPEL, ORAESB, and ORAWSM schemas into your Oracle database before you begin the installation."
But I ignored that, since I did a default installation...
So before I start over with this, and since I'm only trying to get HTTP_Server, is there a simpler solution? Maybe I should go with an 11g solution, since I suspect it would still be compatible with my local 10.2.0 and my customer's 9i databases? But which one? The information on the Oracle Web site is overwhelming, and it took me a while to figure out that I needed to install SOA Suite in order to get HTTP_Server...

SOA Suite : Status as NONE for Home process-type.

Hi,
I am unable to restart the process-type home in SOA Suite.
After I found the status it shows as NONE. Please see below
Even though the status is NONE. I am able to work on application deployed under Home. But what if i have to redeploy the application or change the database.

It seems like your server ports are occupied.
Type the command,
netstat -an | grep portnumber
and see whether the port is listening. You can also get the list of processes using the port using '-ap' option. If any processes are running, kill those processes and start your SOA server.

Error message deploying a composite in SOA Suite 11g

Hello,
We are attempting to deploy a composite to SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.3). We're getting an 'Unable to register service' error message. When I inspect the log files I see the following entry as the first error:
Failed to retrieve policy[[
oracle.wsm.policyaccess.PolicyAccessException: WSM-06146 : Error deleting the attachment entries.
Anybody have any experience with this error? The error message reference has the following listed:
WSM-06146: Error deleting the attachment entries.
Cause: Failure occurred while deleting the attachment entries.
Action: Ensure that a valid list of policy subjects for deactivated lifecycle type is passed

Type: INCIDENT_ERROR
Impact: Configuration
I don't know how to "ensure that a valid list of policy subjects for deactivated lifecycle type is passed". Please help!!!!

This is what we have done :
1.Created the JDBC data source & connection pool as below :
data source name : B2BAQ , JNDI name : jdbc/B2BAQ
Connection Pool :
URL : taken from the tns entries of the instance
Driver Class Name : oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
Tested this connection ..it works fine from the Admin Console
2.Then go to Deployments --> AqAdapter -> Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pool Group -->
Create a new connection pool instance -- General tab
connection interface factory : javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory
JNDI Name : eis/AQ/B2BAQ
Then in Properties tab : Enter the Data Source Name : jdbc/B2BAQ
Then we try to Start the AqAdapter from the Admin Console..it goes into Prepared status.
The error message which comes is mentioned above.
Is there any way we could resolve this ..that would be very helpful

Java Embedding bug in SOA Suite 11g BPEL??

I am beginning to wonder if there is a 'bug' in the SOA Suite 11g, BPEL, Java Embedding activity? Need some help as soon as possible – does the Java Embedding activity work in SOA Suite 11g?
Have tried the following on Jdev 11.1.1.1 and Jdev 11.1.1.3 – get the same error message (see below for error message).

I created a simple composite app by:
1.     Created a Composite with BPEL Process
2.     Created a BPEL variable by the name of Variable and a Simple Type of string      ({http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}string)
3.     Added an Assign activity (Assign_1) and assigned the value of “Test Var” to the variable Variable using a Copy operation.
4.     Then, after the assign activity, added a Java Embedding activity (Java_Embedding_1) with Java Version set to 1.5 and the following code:

Java Embedding bug in SOA Suite 11g BPEL??

Error invoking web service deployed in SOA Suite

I have implemented a stateful web service in Jdeveloper 10.1.3.2.
I can test succesfully an operation of the web service from the embedeed oc4j of jdeveloper, but i can not succes when i try do the same from the application server control of soa suite.
The response of the web service in the second case, is the xml of the request.I can not understand.
I implemented a web service proxy in jdeveloper that invokes the web service deployed in soa suite.When i run it, it gives me an exception like this:

almost 8 months passed since this post, but if still actual then look at BUG: Request XML returned as response when result too large thread. It may be the same problem with large data sets.

We are using Oracle application adapter from BPEL process manager ( SOA Suite 11g) to call PLSQL:OE_ORDER_PUB:PROCESS_ORDER (EBS R12).

Error Installing Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.1

Hi Gurus,
I was in the process of installing Oracle SOA suite 10.1.3.1 on Windows 2003, the installer seemed to take a lot of time at the 92% point, a closer examination that was the point at which the opmnctl was starting the services. After that, the installer proceeds to conclude the setup successfully but the opmn log indicates an error as shown below

I receive the following error when trying to start up managed web logic. I am signed in as root. I did the install of the soa suite as a different user but configured it as root after the install was completed.

I reinstalled the following on a fresh Linux 5 VM
Oracle XE - as root as specified in the documentation
RCU - as non-root user
WLS - as non-root user (Install complete and verified via console http://localhost:7001/console/)
SOA-Sute installed and configured as non-root user

Unable to start the Weblogic Server after installing OFM SOA suite

As part of Oracle Fusion Middleware installation, i installed the SOA suite and tried to start the AdminServer configured for the SOA domain. But the server was forced shutdown due to the following error messages. (Windows 7 is my OS). Please help me to resolve this issue.

Means, it is NOT able to find any DB Schema with the Table named like "BEAXACMLAP"...
When we create a new domain using Config wizard, you select customize option and in one of the following screens you will see like 2 Radio buttons with options as " I do not want to change anything here" and " I want to create, change or remvoe RDMBS support". NOW use the Default setting like I do not want to change. Once I checked other radio button and ran into issues like yours. Basically if you check, YES, then you need to load another .sql file in this db schema located at: "C:\beawls1032\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\rdbms_security_store_oracle.sql". This .sql file has the above missing table "BEAXACMLAP".
So I guess all you folks may have checked the radio button option YES, but did not run the above .sql file in that db. Under your domain root folder/config/jdbc you should see a .xml file with above datasource details. So run the above .sql file in that schema.
I would say please start over again. Create a new domain from config wizard and use default setting for above screen that I mentiond like " I do not want to change anything here" and proceed. I am hoping that should work.
NOTE: Running RCU utility or RCU related .sql files will NOT have above missing tables. RCU Utility will have all schemas/tables specific to SOA Components only like BPEL, WebServices, Workflows etc etc.

Receive java.lang.NullPointerException (JCA-12563) on SCA with Stored Procedure dbAdapter (SOA Suite 12.1.3)

I'm new to the Oracle SOA Suite and have been creating very simple SCA WebServices (async and sync) prototypes to INSERT, UPDATE and Poll Oracle 9i and 11g databases. So far, everything works and passes the tests from EM.
I cannot get the Stored Procedure WebService to test successfully as I receive the error message below regardless of JNDI configuration for XA, non-XA, Last Logging Resource, Support Global Transactions,PlatformClassName, etc... The Outbound Connection Pool is setup correctly as the other DML tests have worked fine.

The SP SCA is the simplest possible application I can think of... The WebService accepts a single INT, calls BPEL>Receive>Assign>Invoke>dbAdapter(Stored Procedure) that accepts a single IN INTEGER parameter in an Oracle 11g database.
Steps I've used to create the SP SCA. (Create Empty SOA Application)
1.) Create Database Adapter in External References swim lane.
2.) Set JNDI and Connection.
3.) Browse to Oracle Procedure...click through Wizard and accept all defaults.
   CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE TEST_SOA_API (
     wo_order_no_ IN INTEGER)
   IS
   BEGIN
     INSERT INTO TEST_TMP VALUES (wo_order_no_);

4.) WSDL, XSD, JCA are automatically generated.
5.) Create BPEL Process Component and select Template "Base on a WSDL". I choose the WSDL created from the Database Adapter wizard.
6.) The "Exposed Service" is automatically created and everything is wired.
7.) I deploy to my CompactDomain (running on a local Oracle12 db). No errors.
8.) I login to EM and Test the WebService..and ALWAYS receive the error message above.
I've tried BPEL Process and Mediator as components to simply pass the single incoming INT parameter to the SP DbAdapter and tried every combination I can think of with DataSource/DbAdapter Deployment through the Admin console. I used the same exact steps above for INSERT, UPDATE, Polling and have had no issues so I cannot figure out why I'm not receiving java.NullPointer exception or why I'm receiving the XML/XSD malformation error.
Stuck now...anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong or simply tell me I'm an idiot and shouldn't do SP's this way?
FYI. I've turned on logging for the oracle.soa.adapter.db class to TRACE: 32(FINEST). Not much help to me

OSB to SOA suite package not forming correctly

Setup is as follows:
AIX 5.3 on the box, 10 gigs ram, installation of the latest releases of OSB and SOA suite on top of weblogic. I've built out a couple of simple database queries in BPEL based off wsdls, dropped them on to the SOA suite server, used EM to open a test console and plugged in some search data. Search returns successfully.
I then open up OSB's console, create a business service to the endpoint on the soa server, and a proxy based off the same wsdl used in the BPEL construction which I then route to the business service. Both service and proxy are made with basic http for the protocol (not sure how to use the sb protocol, and not sure if that will fix the problem). Load the test console on the proxy service, which displays an xml form similar to what is used in the SOA suite. Fill out the same information, but the invoke returns BEA-380000. Following the invocation trace in OSB everything looks good in terms of package content.
Wondering if it might simply be a problem with how the OSB interprets XML from a wsdl, I piped the XML from the SOA suite into the OSB's xml field, but to no luck, same error. After some more testing and frustration,I put the SOA suite XML straight in to the form field in the OSB test console, and it worked. However, the package itself seems oddly formed, consisting of:

Which I've been told is basically double wrapping the package, which shouldn't work, and more importantly wont be generated when someone uses say SOAPUI to access our service on the OSB.
Now, on the SOA suite side of things. In EM console, I navigate to my BPEL process and can see the faults caused by the OSB. The same faults are also generated when binding to the OSB's endpoint with SOAPUI, but not when going directly to the SOA suite's endpoint. The error is the following:

And the payload sent shows as empty.
So to my best uneducated guess, it looks like the OSB wraps the payload in an envelope, and then unwraps it before handing it to the SOA suite, which expects the payload to be wrapped. Sadly, I'm still pretty new to the wsdl/webservice/oracle world, so I'm not even sure if that's an accurate representation. Any insight on what might be happening or how to get OSB to talk with SOA suite correctly would be greatly appreciated. Problem solved. When I originally created my business service inside of OSB, I created it based off an endpoint provided by the SOA server. Instead, I went and did a mass import from a url, pointed it at the SOA server wsdl, and then built the web service off of that wsdl resource in the OSB. Now it works like a charm.
