SOAP CRM API how to retrieve customer that is a company?

BC has two types of customers "Contacts" and "Companies". The webservice here: CatalystCRMWebservice Web Service
has operations for retrieving contacts but I don't see any operations for retrieving a company's info. Does anyone know if there is a way to do it?

I don't think CRM V2 engine have access to company . You'll have to use the V3 engine. See here: Developer reference . I think you'll have to build a BC app for that.

CRM Survey, how to retrieve answers

Hi,
I was wondering if there is someone out there knowing how to retrieve answers from a survey question with pre defined answers.
I am using function module CRM_SVY_VALUES_READ to get the XML
And then the class cl_crm_svy_values and the methods values_get_all and values_get to retrieve the answer values. This works fine for the answers related to questions of the type free text (i.e. free text manually keyed into to the survey). However for those question with predefined answers I get an ID e.g. id_3fa9c8ef37e16498e10000000a74113d.
Do any one know how to go from this ID to readable text or if there is another way to solve this.

MSS ECM - how to retrieve custom OADP column in Webdynpro java application

Great day to all,
We have created custom OADP column for MSS ECM planning in SPRO.
In Portal, ECM Plan Table, the column is visible. User enters values into that and toggles the tabstrip.
Before submitting, i need to capture that value in Webdynpro java.
My Question is,
How can i make use of that column in my ECM Application using webdynpro java??
or how can i retrieve the custom OADP columns in webdynpro java with out using RFC??

In OADP ,there are two types of columns , functional column which cannot be edited in web dynpro java application and another type is application column which can be edited in application and the value of this column is handled in application using rfc enabled function module. MSS ECM comes with certain application column whose values are handled in MSS-ECM application . If you are trying to add custom application column you will have to handle that column value in your Z function module and also at OADP level you should not configure supply function for that column.
In order to call custom Z function module to handle custom application column I would suggest to create a seperate Software component and development component and in that handle the logic for calling Z Function module. Also you will have to define the usage of custom Development component in the MES-ECM standard component.

E-Commerce API: how to retrieve product tags?

Does anyone know how to get the tags for a product using the e-commerce API? By product tags I mean the tags that can be added to a product so they can be listed by tag. I know I can get product attributes, but my client has been using tags (before attributes were available), and now I need to be able to retrieve them through the API.

I've not used it but it seems (at least looking at the sample output) that the tags come down as a string.

I have an Iphone 6 and recently by accident cleared history and website data. Now I am desperately trying to retrieve it and unfortunately I do not have a backup of my iphone. Is it possible to recover yhe history via programmes or software? Or is there any other way? The data I need is very important and so far I had no luck retriving it.

That's virtually the very first thing it says to do.
There's no excuse to not have your data backed up prior to updating. Tell me, what would you have done if, instead of this being an issue where you updated your iOS and had an error, if instead you had dropped your iPhone and it was damaged beyond repair, or if it was stolen or lost, etcetera.
Perhaps you'd been backing up to iCloud and didn't realize it? Maybe the missing Notes data is linked to a Mail account? You might be able to reconstruct the data, but it's going to be an uphill battle.
Best of luck. Make sure to backup more frequently in the future. There are two types of people in the world; those who have lost data, and those that will lose data. The only difference is how prepared you are for that event.

I deleted important Jpeg photos from iphoto and then emptied the trash.I have used FileSalvage and Odin software but they have proved ineffective as i have 32,000 + Jpegs in the hard drive.Any recommedations for a program with the ability to preview and sort these Jpegs ?

If you definitely have recovered all the files and just want to view them at a glance http://www.lemkesoft.com/ 's GraphicConverter has a function to browse folders at a glance.
If not, Prosoft Data Rescue can rescue what you need, and so can other tools on my user tip.
The key is knowing whether or not you have all the files or not. The problem when you don't have all the files, every action you take while the hard drive that had the trash is spinning could make the file harder and harder to recover. With Data Rescue and similar tools, you add an external hard drive and boot off a DVD with a data recovery tool, and don't do anything with the hard drive except recover all the most recently deleted files.

Were they important enough to back up?
If not, there are data recovery programs you can use. If you can, stop using the computer (because more use will increase the chance of the files being overwritten), and download (to another computer, if possible, which you can connect via Firewire) Data Rescue.
You can use it as a demo to tell you what files it can find - and then you can decide to purchase the software to enable you to recover them.

Hi all
I am facing a tough situation. My scenarios is with the batch management issue.
If you can see the transaction MSC3N display batch data, there is tab changes. here u will find the list of changes. I can find the header data in the table like when it was changed and what changed it like transaction. But I want what is the old value and what is the new value it has for list of batches. But the fileds are stored in structures like CDSHW F_OLD and F_NEW. Is there any way to retrieve all the data.
Please give me any inputs. Inputs will be rewarded.Please let me know if I am clear.

Hi Ravi,
Data will not be stored in Structures.
Those values will be captured in CDHDR & CDPOS Tables, get the data from there.
Pass table name and table key values.

Thank your very good solution as BC Sets. I had general knowledge on Rollout and BC Sets now.
How ever, I have a problem on creating my first BC Sets. Should I creat a BC Sets as my template via copy existing customizing data? I seen some existing BC Sets which arenot I want. We implemented big5 modules for some company codes. I want to copy one of them as my BC Sets template. I won't create it manually because I worried about I will miss some data if I select these data one by one. I cannot find out a Full-BC Sets template contains all customizing data. Could you please give me some guide. I cannot ensure my understanding of BC Sets. Please correct it if I have wrong idea.

Hi TheBCMan,
BC provides backend apis and a way to these APIs in frontend (module_webresource). With this you can create your own apis for your site where you control the data you want to expose. Here is a simple use case which can be achieved with what we currently have in production:
I want to create a sign up form where user must choose a username and a password. As a constraint, I want to keep username unique within my site and I want to be able to check through AJAX if a given username value is reserved or not. The strategy for achieving this is presented below:
1. Create a page on your site (e.g /max-2014/backend/check-username-uniqueness.html with the following code in it):
{module_webresource resource="customers" version="v3" where="\{'username': {{this.globals.get.username}}\}" fields="id" collection="customers" template="" skip="0" limit="1"}
2. From your browser access the follow url: http://<site-domain>/max-2014/backend/check-username-uniqueness.html?json=true&username=bcman. Once you did this you will get a valid json object which contain customers as key. customers.totalItemsCount tells you how many customers already have bcman username.
3. Write your client side code and use this API through ajax.

Thanks for your suggestions.
But i think in my case we do not want to get the complete list. We still want to get only 100 items initially and then if the user would scroll down he/she would see more items. But we already need to know the total number of items for the purpose of showing a message to the user. For e.g. Total issues (515), but the table would initially show only 100 and then another 100 after scroll. So setting the size litmit to max would not help.
And to be able to use the $count you mentioned, we have to still make another oData service call which we do not want.
But as i mentioned there is already a property named "__count" in the response of the bindItems() method call and i see that it has correct count but not sure how to retrieve it inside the controller. Thanks.

I can handle any data with my buttons on the component but after editing data
i need the save the data when the save button on the overview(top) is pressed.
I have redefined save button of overview but i cant get my data.
My node name is Root. I think i couldnt bind it to overview.
