Soap or File Adapter

Hi Experts,
My scenario ECC......>PI........>FILE
                RFC       SOAP
We are signing and encrypting xml files ,in order to do this we need soap adapter because we get security parameters options but now instead of sending this signed and encrypted file to webservice can we send it to file directory of the receiving system
If i use RFC to file scenario ,i dont get any security paramter option for file adapter,so I ahve to use soap adapter but how to send it to file directory of the receiving system
But if I use file adapter then how xml will convert to soap meeesage
I want to send a soap message from PI to file system of receiving system(not to web service)
Please Advise

Hi Bhaskar
As per expert suggestion ,i am following the link
Please answer my queries
as per document :BAPI - BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL. The scenario works like this- XI receives the file ,do the request mapping send the request to BAPI get back the response from BAPI do the response mapping and write it to the file.
In my scenario: the scenario works like this- XI receives the Rfc data,do the request mapping send the request to Ecc(RFC)get back the response from RFC do the response mapping and write it to the file.
Question:
How is the payload sent to file system,do soap adapter have any option like file adapter to specify the target directory and path,if not how the soap paylod is sent to file system

  • Sender File Adapter Can I  set original MessageID like SOAP Adapter??

    Hello,PI Experts!!
    I want to set original messageID(GUID) to Sender File adapter scenario.
    SOAP Adapter can set original messageID with url, about FILE Adapter??
    I think Adapter Module maybe can set original messageID.
    best Regards,
    Yuuki Fujioka.

    Hello,
    Yes, you can get Message ID with any adapter.
    All neccessary information about approach you can find in links below:
    Use getTransformationParameters().

  • File adapter sends return message to SOAP adapter

    Hi,
    I have managed to send a message using a SOAP sender adapter to a file using the file adapter. The respective message is written to a file. Though both adapters are configured to work in an asynchronous way, the file adapter seems to try to return as message. This results in an error message: "Das Interface-Mapping ... ist nicht im Laufzeit-Cache vorhanden". I have updated and checked the runtime cache. The respective mapping program is available and working, since the file adapter writes the send date to the file. So why this message?
    Kind regards,
    Heiko

    The file adapter replies the sent message, when it is addressed in sync mode.
    Set in the SOAP sender channel the Quality-of-Service to Exactly-Once to avoid this behavior.

    Stefan

  • SOAP adapter or file adapter

    Hi Gurus,
    Non-SAP system B ->PI->Non-SAP system A.
    The request is sent from non-SAP application  A to Pi and this is routed to another non SAP system sap example SYSTEM B.
    Then B sends the response in the form of XML file to Application A via PI.
    This is sysnchornous interface. Is it possible to use file adapter on both sender and reciever side in this snchrnous interface.
    or do we need to use teh SOAP adapter on both sides to allow communication between the two system webservices or HTTP post method.
    Please suggest all the possible options.
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jay.

    >Is it possible to use file adapter on both sender and reciever side in this snchrnous interface.
    Since it is synchronous interface, I would recommend you to go SOAP adapter on both sides. That is one possible way.
    The second possible way is  one end file and other end soap(synch) and the response goes back to file adapter. This is file -> SOAP->file.
    refer this [link|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/File-RFC-File(Without%20BPM)]
    Replace SOAP with RFC.

  • Getting Error while running a file adapter.

    Hi all,
    I am doing a small application where I need to read an image from a shared path and send the base64code of that image in response. For that I am using File Adapter and Read
    operation. I have just hard coded the image name didnt give any wild card or expressions. I generated a service which is a proxy using the jca of that File Adapter. I added a stage
    replacing the response body with the opaque element of the request body. When I run the proxy I am getting something like *"The invocation resulted in an error: "* in response
    and in the stack trace I am getting *"Failed to set the value of context variable "body". Value must be an instance of {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Body."* as the fault
    reason I am unable to detect where exactly I am going wrong. Kindly help me in resolving this.
    Thanks,
    Phanindra.

    Not sure why you want to replace. Since the response of the proxy would remain to hold the request body by default.
    If you have stored the opaque element in a variable ($var_opaque), then you can do the following.
    XPath : .
    In variable : body
    Expression : $var_opaque
    Check - "Replace node content"

  • Error in using file adapter valves

    Hi,
    I'm working on Oracle SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.4). I'm doing an exercise on using adapter valves for encryption. I need to write an encrypted file using File adapter. I created pipeline.xml and also specified property in jca file. And added bpm-infra.jar file to classpath.
    Also, I've compiled SimpleEncryptValve.java and created a jar file and placed it in lib directory of domain.
    Pipeline.xml is as below :
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <pipeline xmlns="https://www.oracle.com/adapter/pipeline">
    <valves>
    <valve>valves.SimpleEncryptValve</valve>
    </valves>
    </pipeline>
    writeFile_file.jca contents are as below :
    <adapter-config name="writeFile" adapter="File Adapter" wsdlLocation="writeFile.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
    <connection-factory location="eis/FileAdapter"/>
    <endpoint-interaction portType="Write_ptt" operation="Write">

    <property name="NumberMessages" value="1"/>
    <property name="PipelineFile" value="pipeline.xml"/>
    </interaction-spec>
    </endpoint-interaction>

    Regards,

    Rashmi,
    Check the order of the processing sequence in the modules that you have configured in the CC.
    It should be in the following pattern:-
    PROCESSING SEQUENCE
    Module Name -- localejbs/AF_Modules/PayloadSwapBean
    Module Key -- SwapAttachment
    Module Name -- CallSapAdapter
    Module Key -- 0
    MODULE CONFIGURATION
    Module Key -- SwapAttachment
    Parameter Name -- swap.keyName
    Parameter Value  -- Content-Type
    Module Key -- SwapAttachment
    Parameter Name -- swap.keyValue
    Parameter Value  -- application/txt
    Let us know if you still face any trouble.

  • Adapter module to enhance File adapter

    Hey guys
    i need a small clarification regarding adapter modules.
    is it possible via adapter modules to enhance the File adapter to such an extent that it can deliver files to two separate systems in separate landscapes.
    i know i can design one more receiver determination and can also use Run OS command options,but modules in general give better performance compared to others so just wan't to explore a little bit more about them.
    Thanx

    yeah, they do take a lot of resources, but that's how XI was built to work.
    What you're trying to do is a workaround and may not get support from SAP.
    If I have understood right, you still wanna maintain the endpoint connection data in the communication channels but want to acces them directly without going through the technical routing pipeline, is that so?
    If that's it, I'm sorry but I cannot help you any further.
    The only way I know of accessing adapters without going throught technical routing is by using lookup API (RFC, JDBC, Soap) but it is not intended for endpoint scenarios (insert, update etc), mainly for simple read (lookups).
    If maintaining the connection data outside adapters is not a concern, you could try to create the connections directly in Java code, inside java proxies.
    Regards,
    Henrique.

    Hi ,
    In file adapter, when we use quality of service:EOIO ,it asks for Queue name,what do we have to give there?
    Thanks

    Hi Guys
    When I use EOIO it gives me the below error,it works fine with EO for quality of service.What is causing the error.I am using in file sender adapter.

  • File adapter specific message attributes

    Hi,
    If we check ASMA of file adapter ......all the information corresponding to that attributes will be available in the SOAP header. If we check ASMA in the receiver file adapter then receiver file adapter will pick those values from the SOAP header and will assign to the target file.
    Even we can directly set the target file name by accessing the system parameters through UDF.
    please correct me if my understanding is wrong.
    thanks
    kumar

    Hi Kumar,
    <i>If we check ASMA of file adapter ......all the information corresponding to that attributes will be available in the SOAP header</i>
    Every adapter has a defined set of attributes, which are described individually as part of the configuration for each of the adapters. So these attributes would be visible. And better to call it Message Header instead of SOAP header.
    <i>If we check ASMA in the receiver file adapter then receiver file adapter will pick those values from the SOAP header and will assign to the target file.</i>
    Yes, if mapping of these attributes are done.

  • ASMA parameters in file adapter

    Hi experts,
    Please explain when exactly we will get the requirement to use  ASMA attributes in file adapter and provide few examples?

    HI,
    Just to add a quick note, in the case of adapter like File Adapter you have the option in the Sender / Receiver File Adapter to select the ASMA and the corresponding Attribute ( eg : FileName, Directory etc ) to be used from the SOAP Header.
    In the case of few other adapters like SOAP, you do not have such explicit option. You add the ASMA to the SOAP Header using a UDF and you just select ASMA and Varibale Transport Binding in the Receiver SOAP adapter and all the SOAP Adapter value are replaced with header ASMA.
    Each adapter has a few specific ASMA and these can be seen along with the technical names while trying to set some condtion in the Condition Editory under Context Objects.

  • File Adapter secure connection. SSL Portion. Pls explain

    Hi All,
    For File Adapter secure connection I am reading this blog:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/964f67ec-0701-0010-bd88-f995abf4e1fc
    Question:
    For my File - XI- File Secure Scenario
    I am not able to understand Certficate portion as given in blog:
    a. There is creation of Server Public-Private Key Pair and
         then there is creation of Client Public-Private Key Pair.?
    b. Export of the Client generated Private Key to file ?
    c.Import of the Client Private Key to the browser personal
        certificates.?
    Pls let me know which certificate to install at which place.

    hi,
      After PI7.0 support pack 10  RFC,SOAP,Xi these 3 adaptors supporting the security in message   transfer  level....you must select propagate principles in sender and receiver agreement ...

  • Receiver file adapter behave like a EOIO

    I have an interface wherein R/3 sends IDocs to XI and the messages have QOS as EO. XI triggers a proxy interface which retrieves a certain data back from R/3. Once the mapping is done in XI, the receiver, a file adapter creates a bunch of files for each message.
    Here's the data scale.
    1 IDoc triggers 1000+ proxy message interfaces which triggers over 2000+ files.
    All messages in the receiver queue (XI_SERIALIZE00xx) go into EOIO status. What is driving this EOIO message type (IDocs are coming in as EO messages).
    The problem, if one message gets into system error, all go into holding status. They are all independent of each other. How can I fix this??
    Thanks,
    Pam

    After digging into this further...here's how it is working and I'm figuring out how the queue id got assgined to proxy inbound (sender).
    - <SAP:ReliableMessaging xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
      <SAP:QualityOfService>ExactlyOnceInOrder</SAP:QualityOfService>
      <SAP:QueueId>XI_SERIALIZE0012</SAP:QueueId>
      </SAP:ReliableMessaging>
    Here's the flow.
    IDoc message (r/3) to ZIDoc_in (XI) - the messages are EO
    ZIDoc_in (R/3 proxy) to ZIDoc_out (XI) - the messages here are set as EOIO with the queueid from above.
    ZIDoc_out (XI) to ZFile_in (File receiver) - thousands of messages go in as EOIO
    as per this blog
    -  /people/arulraja.ma/blog/2006/08/18/xi-reliable-messaging-150-eoio-in-abap-proxies
    I did not find the queue id set in the abap proxy code. So where is this "XI_SERIALIZExxxx" being set and how is it becoming EOIO?
    Not sure if the parameter in the interface determination is doing this since the messages from the proxy shows up as EOIO.
    Thanks.
