Software packages are not distribution to a SCCM 2007 secondary site - not decompressing

Hello,
I have a secondary site in my SCCM 2007 which is not de-cpompressing packages.
the packages are coming down to the 'SMSPKG' folder as .pkg files, but it is not de-compressing into the SMSPKGS$ folder.
I updates one of the smaller packages to re-push the package down and this is what I have seen in the despool.log on the child site

There should be  some more entries in the log file between use Drive and forward package status.
did you check the status of the package from system status--SM_distribution manager ? any clue
can you try preloading one package and see what does it say ? instructions here

  • My SCCM 2007 Secondary Site Servers have multiple "SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_ SiteCode " and "SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_ SiteCode " local groups

My organization is going through a SCCM 2012 migration and I was asked about our current SCCM 2007 Secondary Sites and when I remoted into my secondary site servers I saw that two of the three servers have multiple "SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_<SiteCode>"
    and "SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_<SiteCode>" local groups.
This just seemed quite odd and I wanted to know if anyone has dealt with this before.
    Thank you

    Thanks for your reply Eswar.
    One of the SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_<SiteCode>
groups on two of my Secondary Site servers I believe are configured correctly and they both have my Primary Site Server as a member, but the
SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_<SiteCode> group is empty. Is the
SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_<SiteCode> group supposed to contain my Primary Site server as well? Both the SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_<SiteCode>
    and the
SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_<SiteCode> groups on my Primary Site Server have my Secondary Site Servers as members.
    Is this correct?
I'm wondering now if the strange groups with the odd site codes that don't even exist were created when the secondary sites were initially being created a while back. From the documentation, it looks like the former admin initially configured the secondary
sites using a PowerShell script created by Kaido Jarvemets. According to some of the notes I have read, the admin kept uninstalling and re-installing the sites when they were not showing up in the SCCM 2007 Admin console, but apparently they simply forgot
to configure a Sender and an Address, if that makes any sense to you.
So, perhaps these groups ending with an odd Secondary Site code may have been a typo during one of the installation attempts? If this is the case, can these groups be deleted?
One thing I forgot to mention was that the Secondary Site servers belong to a Global Security AD group and that group is used to add them to both the SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection_<SiteCode
    and the SMS_SiteToSiteConnection_<SiteCode>
groups on the Primary Site server.
    Is this allowed?
    Thanks

  • SCCM 2007 Secondary to SCCM 2012 Secondary Site

we are planning to upgrade SCCM 2007 secondary to SCCM 2012 Secondary Site, As per the TechNet document that I understand i can't do in place upgrade of Secondary site. I can do only upgrade
of 2007 DP to 2012 DP,
    This is what I plan,
    1. Install a SCCM 2012 Secondary site
    2. Enable DP sharing in 2012 and share the DP of 2007
    3. Upgrade the 2007 DP into 2012 DP on 2012 Secondary Site.
    My question is,
    1. How to copy the DP package to 2012 Secondary Server DP, it will happen during the upgrade or we need to use Export/extract Content feature in SCCM 2012
    2. How the client migration will happen? Do we need to distribute the 2012 client prior to DP update or we can use client push to upgrade old client.
    3. before share the DP, do i have to remove the MP, PXE role on the 2007 secondary?
    Thanks for your support

I have already few packages available in that DP that I am going to migrate
The second shared DP that I want to migrate to 2012, but it is not working.
Do I need to specify any thing in reassign distribution point wizard, because I only select  the site code where I want to migrate the 2007 DP, and all other option I leave default and client on next.
This is what I am trying to do.
I have build a SCCM 2012 Primary and Secondary Server and I am trying to move the DP from exiting SCCM 2007 Secondary Site DP to 2012 Secondary Site.
I set a source hierarchy for primary server with enable shared DP then I am trying to reassign a DP.

  • SCCM 2012 Secondary Site Migration

we have to migrate more then 50 Secondary Site to SCCM 2012 Secondary Site. Since we have to low-bandwidth connection for the remote site we prefer to go with SCCM 2012 Secondary site inside of DP.
I know we can migrate SCCM 2007 Secondary to SCCM 2012 DP and SCCM 2007 DP to SCCM 2012 DP.
But is there a way i can move the distribution point package from SCCM 2007 Secondary to SCCM 2012 Secondary Site?
when i try to migrate migrate SCCM 2007 Secondary Site DP to SCCM Secondary Site 2012, it uninstall the 2007 Secondary site and upgrade the DP to SCCM 2012 under the 2012 Secondary site.
But my requirement is to move the old SCCM 2007 secondary site package to SCCM 2012 Secondary site DP, is there any tool to manage this activity?
or what is the best practice to do this migration.

    Hi,
You could use prestage content in SCCM 2012 to send packages to remote DP.

  • SCCM 2007 Package are not getting distributed to 1 DP.

    HI Guys,
I am fairly new to SCCM.
I have noticed packages are not getting distributed to one of my DP. I find the below in distmgr.log
    Cannot establish connection to ["Display=\\xxxxxxxxxx\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=xxx"]\\xxxxxxxxx\
This is what i have checked till so far.
1] Site server has local Admin right on the DP.
2] All Services are running on Local system and network service where needed.
3] I can access share from DP to Site server and Site server to DP.
    Any suggestion would be helpful.

  • Packages are NOT transferring to new DP after adding it to a DP group - WHY!!!?

I am in the midst of trying to put together a Windows 8.1 DP and when I check the Distmgr.log, everything looks fine. Then when I add it to a DP group that my primary DP is a member of for the simple purpose of having those packages transferred over to the
new DP, I don't see any packages at all under the Content tab of the DP properties for the new Windows 8.1 DP with the exception of the Configuration Manager Client Package. Also, I created an AD group and named it SCCM Site Servers and I added my Site Server
to that and then added that group to the local admins group on the Windows 8.1 DP.
I need some help in determining why packages are not getting transferred, please HELP!
Here is what I am referring to:
When I check the pkgxfermgr.log, I see the following errors:

Thanks for the response, Jeff, I appreciate it.
Yes sir, that is what I stated initially up above in the posting:
Also, I created an AD group and named it SCCM Site Servers and I added my Site Server to that and then added that group to the local admins group on the Windows 8.1 DP.
Any other ideas what could be causing this?
I have never seen this before, obviously, so I am a tad stumped.
    Thanks for your help

  • I have an iMac OS X Version 10.5.8 but I also have a MacBookPro 10.7.5 version, why software updates are not the same? For example, when I want to know how much memory can not store in the same way in either computer.

I have an iMac OS X Version 10.5.8 but I also have a MacBookPro 10.7.5 version, why software updates are not the same? For example, the way to see how much memory I have in my iMac is diferent than MacBookPro. And where I can see the memory of the disc I've got in my iMac? Than you very much.

If you want everything the same on both computers you need to be running the same OS X version. You can't because your iMac is a PPC machine, not Intel.
But to see information about your hard drive is the same for both. Simply select the drive icon on the Desktop. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. Disk information is in the upper panel.

  • All the SSIS Packages are not editable to the all users after deploying to the other server

    Hi All,
    I am using sqlserver2012.
How to make all the SSIS Packages are not editable to all users after deploying to the other server. is there any way to achieve this,
if yes, could share the information how to do....
    Thanks in advance....
    RamarajuC

Typically, you change the protection level as listed in the following steps:
During development, leave the protection level of packages set to the default value,
EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey. This setting helps ensure that only the developer sees sensitive values in the package. Or, you can consider using
    EncryptAllWithUserKey, or DontSaveSensitive.
When it is time to deploy the packages, you have to change the protection level to one that does not depend on the developer's user key. Therefore you typically have to select
EncryptSensitiveWithPassword, or EncryptAllWithPassword. Encrypt the packages by assigning a temporary strong password that is also known to the operations team in the production environment.
After the packages have been deployed to the production environment, the operations team can re-encrypt the deployed packages by assigning a strong password that is known only to them. Or, they can encrypt the deployed packages by selecting
EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey or EncryptAllWithUserKey, and using the local credentials of the account that will run the packages.

    Hi,
On our SCCM environment around 2500 active clients mapped for particular secondary site not performed hardware scan for more than 30 days. Can anyone provide suggestion how to fix this.
    Regards,
    Madhan

Yes i confirmed it is listing correct MP and software scan is working fine. we have around 8500 machines connected to that site buy only 3000 machines are having this issue. anyone has faced this issue ?
Only 5000 Computers are supported by a secondary site.

  • Nuget packages are not uninstalled properly in VS 2010

    Hi,
I have created 3 Nuget packages. One package is dependency of other two Nuget packages. Once I install the 3 packages in my project it installed and working fine. If I uninstall the nuget from my VS2010 project it will throw the below messages.
Access to the path <packageslocation>\AssemlyName40\lib\net40\AssemblyName.dll   is denied.
It uninstalled from the project correctly. But the packages dlls are not removed from the package installed location.
Note: This issue not occurred in VS2012,VS2013 projects.
If the assembly is presented in GAC location this error occurred in Visual Studio 2010. If not its not reproducing VS2010 also.
    Thanks,

    Hi Abbas,
Thank you for posting in MSDN forum.
Since this issue is to discuss:Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer
Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor. As you said about the Nuget packages un-install issue, since Nuget packages is a third-party packages, it is out of support of Visual Studio General Questions forum.
To help you find the correct forum for this issue, I suggest you can ask the issue directly to
Nuget, it will better support this issue.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Which packages are not required?

    Hi Friends,
Initially, I was trying to install arch by just installing base and then going ahead, but was unable to get X. Then, I installed base+X11+X11 libs+ X11 something (dont remember..) and after a lot of trouble, finally got XFCE installed and running (though still problems with fontsand have posted another query in desktop environment section). I have noticed that in doing so, I have installed a lot of things that are not required for my system, like xf86-input-bla bla and xf86-vide-bla bla, I know that only a few of them are required, but i'm afraid of uninstalling anything given that could break the system.
So, is there a way to determine which packages are being used by my system and which are required so that I can free up some space and make my box more slim.
Please post your opinions. Thanks in advance.

There are two notions of "orphan". As it is meant in the orphan script, a package is an orphan iff it is not needed in a working system. This is an intrinsically vague target, which can be focussed only through a partial heuristics.
In the sense of the -Qe pacman option, an app is an orphan iff it is not a dependency of another package. In this sense, many vital apps -- explicitly installed -- in a system are orphans.
However, it is true that pacman -Qe allows to have a list of the top-level apps (the stuff you know what it is, without the libraries etc.). If you identify in the list of pacman orphans the apps you do not need and then remove them with 'pacman -Rsc', you clean your system pretty well.
However, you should be careful, many problems can be foreseen when you do not know what it is the package you are removing.

  • Very disappointed that Lion is causing major problems with disable students assistive software in the UK. Software suppliers are not issuing patches/upgrades until 2012. Totally unacceptable attitude from Apple in ignoring disabled customers

This is going to affect a large number of disabled UK students as patches and upgrades for the specialist software are not due for release until late 2011/early 2012.
Only options they have is to revert to Snow leopard, defficult as Apple have even recall resellers stock and upgraded it to Lion.
I am contacting the UK educational funding bodies with a view to suspending purchasing of all Apple equipment until such time as the situation has resolved itself.

Ikrups says "Speaking of getting one's professional act together I would take a look in the mirror if I were you. A professional responsible for maintaining the computer equipment and network of a school system would certainly perform extensive testing of any new operating system upgrade before deploying it. Even the smallest corporations don't just upgrade software willy-nilly. If you had thought to set up a test system and verified what software worked and what didn't before deploying Lion to the entire system you would have been protecting your students from these issues. A professional would have discovered these issues and delayed deployment of Lion until the patches you mention were available. But you didn't and now you are trying to deflect blame from yourself and your staff. And you dare to accuse Apple of incompetence. I call hypocrisy"
I seem to have ruffled a couple of feathers. I do not remember saying I was responsible for computer systems/networks/school systems. Or accusing Apple of incompetence.
All I did was state that Apple seems to have forgotten or is not aware about the potential impact of Lion on disabled students in the UK and both apple and the assistive software suppliers failed to act together over this omission.
During our research prior to the launch of Lion we as a specialist group had identified 22 of the 40 applications used in assistive software that had 'Problems' this was communicated to all interested parties. Still waiting for the 'FIX'
FYI ALL parties have had similar notices on their BB's NOT just Apple.
despite being given 2 ears and 1 mouth some people do not listen twice as much as they speak.

Hi geeks, I was trying to download Oracle 11G releases to run on my Win7x64 but the packages are downloading up to 327Mb and stop. Off course WinRar says file is corrupt if I try to open them.
But I have earlier downloads for Win7x32, will it run on 64 bit machine if I install them?

Try downloading with a different browser, or with a different ISP, or with a download manager
