Solution for lease & rental business

Hi,
What would be the better solution if I am going for Lease & Rental (Fleet Management) for automotive industry - Is it VMS or DBM that should be leveraged along with CRM ?
Since the requirement areas are Vehcile Lifecycle management (Procurement, Vehicle Database, Vehicle Contract Lease, Dispositions, Asset Management), not sure what to use with CRM.. VMS or DBM.

Backup strategies for a small business? Iomega Rev 70GB?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good backup solution for a small business? Our server holds about 30 GB of information, and we have been using those 8 GB DDS data cartridges, but so many tapes are required and it is not very efficient.
After a little bit of research I found the Iomega Rev 70 GB, and I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on this hardware. I want to be able to have a removable disk, so that I can always store one disk off-site. I don't think I should purchase an external harddrive, because wouldn't it get damaged moving around all the time? The Rev disk is so small, we could fit it in our purse at the end of the day. I like that. It's like a big Zip disk.
My big fear is that this technology will become obsolete in a few years.....
Any opinions? Alternative ideas?

We use tape still... it's the most reliable and portable way. As for legacy. The nice thing about using tape is that newer tape drives like the 160-320 GB can read older tapes and in theory when it gets up to Terrabyte tape drives it will read the legacy tapes. I used to be a hug fan of Iomega, but the proprietary nature of all their products frustrated me every new generation has had something different. I been using Iomega from the original 10" bernoulli disks to the 5.25" to the zip, to the Jazz and then gave up on them at that point. I was tired of getting a new format every-time.
A removable hard drive is something to consider, but keep in mind transporting such things around can shorten the life of such devices.
Tape truly is the most reliable way to back-up networks.
Granted the price for a tape drive is up there, your second choice might be to go with a portable HD that has decent shock protection.

Checks at the time of posting:
1. Pass the Business place value in to Section code also
2. Ensure except WHT code entered in selection screen, all the other WHT codes are deleted at the time of posting.

Generally, when you install Lync 2013 in the computer with Office 2010, a Lync Meeting Add-in will be installed and enabled in Outlook 2010. Please follow these steps to check it:
1. In Outlook, click the File tab, click Options, and then click
Add-Ins.
2. Please take one of the following actions:
If the add-in is in the Inactive Application Add-ins list, follow these steps:
a. In the Manage drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box, click
COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
b. Click to select the check box next to the add-in, and then click OK.
The New Online Meeting button should now be available in
Calendar View, and the Online Meeting button should be available when you create a new calendar item.
If the add-in is in the Disabled Application add-ins list, follow these steps:
a. In the Manage drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box, click
Disabled Items, and then click Go.
b. Select the add-in, and then click Enable.
c. Restart Outlook, and then verify that the add-in is displayed in the
Add-ins dialog box.
The New Online Meeting button should now be available in

Error when installing Lenovo solutions for small business [Screenie included]

Hello everyone.
Recently, I tried opening the pre-installed Lenovo solutions for Small Business software on my Lenovo e530 running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit version (Upgraded from Win 7 Home Prem 64-bit) but failed after getting a message for encountering a critical problem of some sort. I then tried restarting my computer and that did not solve the problem. And then, I decided to install an upgrade version of it from this website http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS030146. But before that I uninstalled the previous version by uninstalling Intel Small Business advantage customizations with Revo Uninstaller and I deleted all the related folders too with a thorough scan. Out of my expection, I got this message below saying that I could not proceed due to some unspecified error. Has anyone encountered the same problem before? Does anyone have a solution for this? I'm not sure if that's my computer's problem or from the driver itself. Thank you for your attention to this issue.

This should be configurable under msconfig. This is a program that you can use to tell your computer which programs you want to start when Windows starts. To get to this program, type msconfig into the search bar in the Start menu. A window should appear. Check under the Startup tab and make sure that the Lenovo Solutions for Small Business program does not have a checkmark next to it. This should prevent this program from starting up when your computer turns on.

Does Itunes have a solutions for playing music in a business setting? Can you play your downloaded music in a business-overhead speakers?

Presuming you are referring to the iTunes Store, tracks purchased from that service are for personal use only and are not licensed for use in any commercial setting. You will need to either find a commercial service to provide music (easiest by far, though perhaps not the cheapest), or buy the appropriate CDs and then obtain a license from the various rights clearinghouses for playback in commercial use.

Twist/S230u bug: cannot start Lenovo Solutions for Small Business after installing updates

An issue may happen after running ThinkVantage System Update and selecting all available updates. After rebooting, Lenovo Solutions for Small Business will fail to launch. This issue happens because of a failure during one of the updates.
To fix the issue, download and install the Intel MEI driver. Although this software is already installed on your system, it is in a broken state. Installing it again will fix it, and let Lenovo Solutions for Small Business run successfully.

Backup solution for E- Business Suite

Hi all,
We have Oracle application and database deployed to a single server, whilst running a server on Oracle Entreprise Linx on 64 bit and running oracle R12.
Therefore basically I see 03 root folders in my server in my Oracle folder namely,

total 12

drwxr-xr-x 3 oracle dba 4096 Jun 24 15:06 instSo far as my backup solution I am planning to have:
- RMAN backup solution for the database which is represented by the DB folder
- OS tar command" to copy the Oracle application which is represented by the apps* folder --> correct me if I am wrong, I am not sure...
- I am not sure what is the function of the INST folder and what is the best way of backing it up.

- I am not sure what is the function of the INST folder and what is the best way of backing it up.Please refer to the "Oracle Applications Concepts" manual for details about the INST folder.
You need to use the OS command to backup this top, just the same way you back up the application tier node files.

Straight Line Lease Rental Accounting

Hi Experts,
Currently I'm working on SAP RE-Fx implementation project for a Retail client.
There is a requirement for generating Accounting reporting based on IAS17, Lease Rental Accounting Standards.
PFA an example of how the Lease Rental Accounting should generate the accounting entries.
I need inputs related to:
1) Which SAP Note is available to be implemented for St.Line Lease Rental Accounting in Commercial Lease -In business scenario.
2) What configurations (E2E) needs to be maintained in RECACUST for the St.Line Lease Rental Accounting

Purchase orders for equipment rentals

We often rent equipment for durations of between 1 - 12 months. Usually we do not know ahead of time how long we will be requiring the equipment, so we would issue an "open purchase" order that is valid until we return the equipment. We are invoiced usually on a monthly basis from our vendor.
Is it possible somehow to enter a PO into SAP Business One that stays open?
For example, on the PO we would have the following:
Quantity - 4
Item - Rental Truck
Unit Price - 1,000
This would be for the rental of 4 trucks, at a rate of 1,000 per month. However, when we get the first invoice, the quantity would be 4 x 1,000, which automatically closes the PO.
Alternatively, if it was possible to enter in a "time" quantity in addition to the "unit" quantity then we could just overestimate the length required, and close the PO once the equipment has returned. For example, enter unit quantity of 4 (4 trucks), and time quantity of 12 (longest duration possible). It wouldn't really work to enter in time x unit quantity of 36, because then we wouldn't be able to track how many units we have on rental at one point in time.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You could try to do:
Jan 4 trucks x 1,000
Feb 4 trucks x 1,000
Mar 4 Trucks x 1,000
Apr 4 Trucks x 1,000
May 4 Trucks x 1,000
etc.
Goods Receipt PO Each Month, when you get to Dec/12th Month you could add more or start a new PO
