[SOLVED] Adding layouts and changing them per application

Hi
I have just installed openbox not a long ago, and I was wondering,
how can I add another keyboard layout? (Hebrew for example)
I heard that I can do it through xorg.conf, but then, changing layouts
will be globaly and not per application.
How can I add another layout to my openbox and change layout with
alt+shift per application?
Thanks

Problem solved thanks to DHeart!
I created /etc/hal/fdi/10-keymap.fdi:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <!-- -*- SGML -*- -->
<deviceinfo version="0.2">
<device>
<match key="info.capabilities" contains="input.keymap">
<append key="info.callouts.add" type="strlist">hal-setup-keymap</append>
</match>
<match key="info.capabilities" contains="input.keys">
<merge key="input.xkb.rules" type="string">base</merge>
<!-- If we're using Linux, we use evdev by default (falling back to
keyboard otherwise). -->
<merge key="input.xkb.model" type="string">keyboard</merge>
<match key="/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer:system.kernel.name"
string="Linux">
<merge key="input.xkb.model" type="string">evdev</merge>
</match>
<merge key="input.xkb.layout" type="string">us,il</merge>
<merge key="input.xkb.model" type="string">pc105</merge>
<merge key="input.xkb.Options" type="string">grp:ctrl_shift_toggle</merge>
</match>
</device>
</deviceinfo>
I installed xxkb, and added "exec xxkb &" to my openbox's autostart script.
And it works almost perfect!

    I don't know what happened. All of a sudden, my settings have been changed, my homepage, and EVERYTHING. No matter how many times I go in and change them again, the SAME pages open up when I start FireFox and I am constantly being asked if I want Yahoo as my start page and default search engine. I click the box 'do not ask me again' and it comes up EVERY TIME. I change things like I don't want history remembered, and when I reload FireFox again, it's back to the way it was BEFORE. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I don't know why this is happening, or how to fix it. What do I do??

    I do not want to download another virus program.. I do not believe it is a virus. I am running the full version of Norton 360 and it is doing a daily scan. I have Windows 7, 64 bit OS.
    This is very irritating !! If I wanted Yahoo I would ask for it !

    What's the answer?
    Thanks

    Many thanks to  responded to my question and sorry not to get back sooner.
    Yes, I discovered by this unfortunate experience that the names of photos are a serious issue if the site is to ever go to an FTP server.  Apple should discuss this carefully in their "manual".
    One more question:  I uploaded the website to a folder on my desktop. When I open it, unlike the photos in iWeb, there are folders for each page which have all the photos in them. I went through each folder and changed the names to be FTP compatible. I'm using iWeb SEO Tool which allows one to upload from this local folder to an FTP server but having trouble.
    Is this because there is an imbedment in iWeb that uses the old photo names to link to the actual photos and it can't find them because of the name changes?
    Thanks again for your help ...

    It doesn't look like you can. But that's how you tell they are a hyperlink. Is this a problem?

  • [SOLVED] urxvt colors and moc theme

    Hello!
    I am a KDE user and usually i am using Konsole. For some applications (like htop and moc) i use urxvt (patched version from AUR). The problem is in colors. When i launch moc in Konsole the theme colours are right but not in urxvt too. That happens with htop also. URxvt doesn't follow theme backrground color (uses its own) and foreground colors too.

    Moc config file:
    # This is a configuration file for the MOC player. It should be named
    # 'config' and placed in the ~/.moc directory. As this file can specify
    # commands which invoke other applications, MOC will refuse to start if it
    # is not owned by either root or the current user, or if it is writable by
    # anyone other than its owner. All options are given with their default
    # values, and therefore commented.
    # Comments begin with '#'.
    # You can use quotes and escape ('\') in parameters.
    # You can have variable values substituted by enclosing the variable name
    # as "${...}". (This only applies to the portion of the option following
    # the ' ='.) Variables are substituted first from the environment then,
    # if not found, from the configuration options. (Note that the value of
    # a configuration option substituted is that which it has at the time the
    # substitution variable is encountered.) If there is a naming conflict
    # between an environment and configuration variable, you may be able to
    # resolve it by using lowercase as the environment variable matches are
    # case-sensitive whereas the configuration variables are not.
    # You can also use the form "${...:-...}" where the value in the second
    # position will be substituted if the variable name given in the first
    # position is unset or null.
    # So, for example:
    # MusicDir = /music/${USER:-public}
    # Fastdir1 = ${MusicDir}/mp3/rock
    # Fastdir2 = ${MusicDir}/mp3/electronic
    # Fastdir3 = ${MusicDir}/mp3/rap
    # Fastdir4 = ${MusicDir}/mp3/etc
    # Variable names are limited to those accepted by the BASH shell; that
    # is, those comprising the upper- and lowercase ASCII characters, digits
    # and the underscore.
    # If you need to use the "${" sequence for any other purpose, write "$${"
    # and it will be replaced by "${" and not treated as a substitution.
    # Some options take lists of strings as their values. The strings are
    # separated by colons. Additional strings can be appended to the list
    # using "+ =" in place of a plain "=" to assign the value. For an example,
    # see the XTerms option.
    # You can override any configuration option when you run MOC using the
    # '-O' command line option:
    # mocp -O AutoNext =no -O messagelingertime=1 -O XTerms+=xxt:xwt
    # This command line option can be repeated as many times as needed and
    # the configuration option name is not case sensitive. (Note that MOC
    # does not perform variable substitution on the value of such overridden
    # configuration options.) Most option values are set before the
    # configuration file is processed (which allows the new values to be
    # picked up by substitutions), however list-valued options are overridden
    # afterwards (which gives the choice of whether the configured values are
    # replaced or added to).
    # Remember that the client and server are separate processes and the
    # server will retain the configuration values formed from the environment
    # within which it was originally started.

    # PreferredDecoders allows you to specify which decoder should be used
    # for any given audio format. It is a colon-separated list in which
    # each entry is of the general form 'code(decoders)', where 'code'
    # identifies the audio format and 'decoders' is a comma-separated list
    # of decoders in order of preference.
    # The audio format identifier may be either a filename extension or a
    # MIME media type. If the latter, the format is 'type/subtype' (e.g.,
    # 'audio/flac'). Because different systems may give different MIME
    # media types, any 'x-' prefix of the subtype is ignored both here and
    # in the actual file MIME type (so all combinations of 'audio/flac' and
    # 'audio/x-flac' match each other).
    # For Internet streams the matching is done on MIME media type and on
    # actual content. For files the matches are made on MIME media type
    # (if the 'UseMimeMagic' option is set) and on filename extension. The
    # MIME media type of a file is not determined until the first entry for
    # MIME is encountered in the list.
    # The matching is done in the order of appearance in the list with any
    # entries added from the command line being matched before those listed
    # here. Therefore, if you place all filename extension entries before
    # all MIME entries you will speed up MOC's processing of directories
    # (which could be significant for remote file systems).
    # The decoder list may be empty, in which case no decoders will be used
    # for files (and files with that audio format ignored) while Internet
    # streams will be assessed on the actual content. Any decoder position
    # may contain an asterisk, in which case any decoder not otherwise listed
    # which can handle the audio format will be used. It is not an error to
    # list the same decoder twice, but neither does it make sense to do so.
    # If you have a mix of audio and non-audio files in your directories, you
    # may wish to include entries at top of the list which ignore non-audio
    # files by extension.
    # In summary, the PreferredDecoders option provides fine control over the
    # type of matching which is performed (filename extension, MIME media
    # type and streamed media content) and which decoder(s) (if any) are used
    # based on the option's list entries and their ordering.
    # Examples: aac(aac,ffmpeg) first try FAAD2 for AACs then FFmpeg
    # mp3() ignore MP3 files
    # wav(*,sndfile) use sndfile for WAV as a last resort
    # ogg(vorbis,*):flac(flac,*) try Xiph decoders first
    # ogg():audio/ogg() ignore OGG files, and
    # force Internet selection by content
    # gz():html() ignore some non-audio files
    # Any unspecified audio formats default to trying all decoders.
    # Any unknown (or misspelt) drivers are ignored.
    # All names are case insensitive.
    # The default setting reflects the historical situation modified by
    # the experience of users.
    #PreferredDecoders = aac(aac,ffmpeg):m4a(ffmpeg)

    3d3d3d is for red but you have a blackish and color2 is for green but you have it white the rest should be the default colors. it uses the same colors only it changes the vairiant of the color you choice there or normally moc uses colors such as green blue and such which will call your console colors for those respective fields I know moc has /user/share/moc/themes/ that you can edit or make your own for instance copy one and edit it. I think htop uses the same color count which is 8 but with so green will be white when you use urxvt. 8 for normal colors 16 for bright dark and urxvt is 256 which is 16 but can use any of the 256 colors for 16.
    just to clarify you have commented out your colors 4-15 and your green and red is weird, and htop aswell as moc is 8 bit. moc theme_yellow_red is default for background so it will use urxvts background
    Haahaha, that is simple. And it works!!!
    I didn't bother with commenting that because i thought they are not applied. Anyway, thanks man. My urxvt terminal si grateful to you and your thorough explanation. SOLVED!

  • Save Layout and change Layout button.

    Hi Guys,
                Im calling the below method of class: cl_gui_alv_grid.
        gs_variant_lic-report = sy-repid.
        gs_variant_lic-username = sy-uname.
          CALL METHOD gi_alv_lic->set_table_for_first_display
            EXPORTING
              i_structure_name         = 'Z_STRUC'
              is_variant                    = gs_variant_lic
              i_save                        = 'A'
              is_layout                    = ls_layout
    However, the Select layout and Save Layout button dont appear.
    Instead i get the button 'Choose Layout'.
    If i dont pass gs_variant, i get single button 'Change Layout'.
    My requirement is to get 3 buttons: 'Change Layout', 'Select Layout' and 'Save Layout'.
    How can i achieve that?
    Thanks,
    Rohit.

    Please share how did u solved it?

  • Urgent HELP! how to resize a layout and change the color from black to white

    Hey!!!
    im in urgent help of someone to answer my questions. I have a huge Indesign exam monday and two of the questions are
    -resizing a layout
    -changing a color layout to black and white
    I have done many porjects in Indesign but to be honest i don't know what they are refering but resizing a layout or changing the layout color to black and white. If any body can explain me this a little be I be so thankful!
    Thanks,
    Fiama Piccardo

    I've decided to relent a little and give you a hint, so you can do some looking and figure this out for yourself. Everything you need for either of those tasks is accessed from the File menu...
    And a further hint. Indesign does not have a black and white or grayscale working colorspace, so you never truly have a black and white layout, though all of the objects in the file may use only black ink. You can, however, output a PDF, in a couple of ways, that will convert your color file to one that uses only black.

  • Copy an application with plugins into a new application and change theme...

    I copied an application (theme 23) with plugins into a new application and then changed the theme to theme 26. After that, all plugins (skillbuilders super lov, skillbuilders modal, and notification plugin) didn't work at all. However, when I changed the theme back to the original theme, things worked.
    I have applications that use theme 26 with plugins and they all work fine. I think the problem is related to copying one application, containing plugins, into a new application. Does anyone have any idea of it?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Most plugins have css,images or js files which can be placed on the server.
    It might be that you have placed those files on the server in the theme directory.
    If you change the theme then the plugin can not find those files any more.

  • Problem with layout and changing content

    Hi, I`m new to Swing and I have a problem with layout.
    I want to make a menu using JButtons so that depending on which button you click you`ll get different content in the window. And first of all I don`t know how to center the buttons.
    I have a JFrame called GameWindow that has a JPanel field called content. My idea was to create a JPanel with buttons and then using ActionListeners change the JPanel held in 'content'.
    Here`s the code:
    public class GameWindow extends JFrame{
         private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
         private JPanel content;
         private Player player;
         public GameWindow(){
              super("Dawn Crystal");
              Dimension screenSize = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
              setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.DO_NOTHING_ON_CLOSE);
              setSize((int)screenSize.getWidth(), (int)screenSize.getHeight());
              setExtendedState(MAXIMIZED_BOTH);
         public void mainMenu(){
              content = new MainMenu(this);
              Dimension dim = content.getSize();
              setLayout(null);
              Dimension screen = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getScreenSize();
              int x = (int)((screen.getWidth() - dim.getWidth()) / 2);
              int y = (int)((screen.getHeight() - dim.getHeight()) / 2);
              int dimX = (int)dim.getWidth();
              int dimY = (int)dim.getHeight();
              content.setBounds(x, y, 120, 120);
              getContentPane().add(content);
              setVisible(true);
         public void adventureScreen(){
              //so far empty
         public void createNewPlayer(){
              content.setVisible(false);
              content = new NewPlayerCreationWindow();
              getContentPane().add(content);
              content.setVisible(true);
              //setVisible(true);
         public void setPlayer(Player p){ player=p; }
    public class MainMenu extends JPanel{
         private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
         private JPanel mainMenuButtons;
         private JButton newGame;
         private JButton loadGame;
         private JButton options;
         private JButton exit;
         public MainMenu(GameWindow par){
              mainMenuButtons = new JPanel();
              //create buttons
              newGame = new JButton("NEW GAME");
              loadGame = new JButton("LOAD GAME");
              options = new JButton("OPTIONS");
              exit = new JButton("EXIT");
              //create action listeners
              newGame.addActionListener(new NewGameListener());
              exit.addActionListener(new ExitListener(par));
              //add buttons to panel
              mainMenuButtons.setLayout( new GridLayout(4,1));
              mainMenuButtons.add(newGame);
              mainMenuButtons.add(loadGame);
              mainMenuButtons.add(options);
              mainMenuButtons.add(exit);
              add(mainMenuButtons);
    }When it displays the buttons are at the top of the frame rather than in the center - I thought that was how the default layout would behave. So that`s my first question - how to center it.
    Secondly I have NewPlayerCreationWindow written but when I call createNewPlayer() I get an empty frame - what am I doing wrong?
    Finally I`d like to ask how can I make the frame appear as maximized when the application is started? The setExtendedState(MAXIMIZED_BOTH); doesn`t help actually because the window`s height is too big and a part of window is hidden under the system bar. I want to have it maximized regardless of screen resolution.

  • Xfce4-panel layout and gtk2 theme

    hello,
    i'm using openbox and i gave xfc4-panel a try. i liked it a lot, but it uses the gtk2 layout.
    is there a possibility to setup the panel layout independently of the gtk2 theme used?
    vlad

    I guess not, but you can always change the way panels (and panels only) look with the gtk theme itself. Check some themes on gnome-look or wherever, I suggest Elegant Brit. There the gtkrc links to a file "panel.rc" which has different colours, buttons etc set for panels.

  • Probs with adding network and topology themes

    Hallo everybody,
    I wanted to add my network and topology data with the following sql-code
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_THEMES VALUES(
    'THEME_DEMO_NETWORK',
    'Stromnetz Netzwerkmodell',
    'STROMNETZ_NW_LINK$',
    'TOPO_GEOMETRY',
    '<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <styling_rules
    theme_type="network"
    network_name="STROMNETZ_NW"
    network_level="1">
    <rule>
    <features>
    <link
    style="C.RED"
    direction_style="M.IMAGE105_BW"
    direction_position="0.85"
    direction_markersize="8">
    </link>
    <node
    style="M.CIRCLE"
    markersize="5">
    </node>
    </features>
    </rule>
    </styling_rules>' );
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_THEMES VALUES(
    'THEME_TOPO_NSLA',
    'Topologie fuer NSLA',
    'NS_LEITUNGSABSCHNITT_TOPO_TAB',
    'POSITION',
    '<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
    <styling_rules theme_type="topology" topology_name="STROMNETZ">
    <rule>
    <features style="C.RED">
    </features>
    </rule>
    <styling_rules>');
    The rows are added to the user_sdo_themes but when I click on the network theme in the definition tool I get the error-message: No style attribute in row 1 is found. Only the valid elements are shown in the table. And there aren't any rows in the following table. What is wrong?
    When I add my topology theme to a map where I already have 2 other themes in the data of the topology theme isn't displayed.
    Both network and topology are valid.
    Another question is ... can there be problems by using the following char ' and that char " I took the code from the Mapviewer documentation and there are these different chars used.
    I have two different users spatial and scott. In both users I have imported the mvdemo so I have in both the same styles metadata. I needn't to define the style for my network like "SPATIAL:C.RED" or something like that? At the moment I only work with user spatial.
    Hope somebody can help. Thanks
    Katrin

    Hallo Daniel, hallo Joao,
    thanks for your reply. I have tried with SPATIAL:C.RED but I think my error is that I have created the map with the topology theme/network theme (I have posted before) with the Map Definition tool. Could that be the error?

  • Adobe flash keeps crashing and reloading and changing timeout per your instructions, does not fix the problem. What else can be done?

    I recently upgraded Firefox and now I cannot use it if I want to watch something involving Adobe Flash because it crashes. I read your article and made sure I am up to date on all programs through Firefox check page. I reset the timeout on the adobe flash to -1 per your article. Your article states it may crash and just re-load it. I have done all your advice and it still will not run. I am now using Windows as my default browser because I don't have time right now to research this on my own and solve it. I don't know if you are aware that the fixes you suggested are not fixing the problem.

    Try reinstalling the previous version of Flash - 10.1 r 102 and get rid of that 10.2 r152 version. ''I never updated Flash and I haven't had a problem with Firefox 4.0 on WinXP.''

  • I want to scan typed documents to Word for Mac and change them. Which Adobe product is best for this?  This is not my area of expertise.  Thank you.

    Can someone tell me which Adobe product to use?  I'm compiling a manuscript of poems and short stories for a friend, which are typed and handwritten and I need to edit them.  Thank you.

    Scanning to Word won't do what you want.
    You see, a scan of a page is just like a photograph of it. You have photos of letters and stuff, but no actual letters. There is a special process called "optical character recognition" (OCR) which analyses the picture in detail, and decides - hey that pattern of dots looks like it might be a letter A - and that would could be an S... it is difficult and time consuming but if the original is clear then you can get a lot of text text with the need only for careful proof reading.
    Check the software which came with the scanner first. It may well offer options for OCR. Yes, Adobe Acrobat Pro can do this, but you have unnecessary complication, because you'll then need to get the text out from Acrobat to begin the tedious process of typesetting each page. To be honest, you might find retyping everything the quickest and most reliable approach. If you aren't already experienced in dealing with long documents in Word you are in for a long haul. Back up a lot, so you don't lose everything due to a mistake.
    (I'm assuming you don't want a "facsimile" - a warts-and-all exact copy of each original page, as typed and scribbled, with no changes at all - that would be a different story).
