ok, that's build when I comment this in /tmp/yaourt-tmp-olivier/aur-openswan/openswan/src/openswan-2.6.25/programs/Makefile.program
# die if there are any warnings
ifndef WERROR
#WERROR:= -Werror
endif
And run the compile directly (not with yaourt or pkgbuild) with
sudo make programs install
in /tmp/yaourt-tmp-olivier/aur-openswan/openswan/src/openswan-2.6.25
But my ipsec VPN don't work :
sudo ipsec auto --up toto
003 ERROR: "toto" #1: sendto on eth0 to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:500 failed in main_outI1. Errno 22: Invalid argument
104 "toto" #1: STATE_MAIN_I1: initiate

003 ERROR: "toto" #1: sendto on eth0 to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:500 failed in EVENT_RETRANSMIT. Errno 22: Invalid argument

003 ERROR: "toto" #1: sendto on eth0 to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:500 failed in EVENT_RETRANSMIT. Errno 22: Invalid argument
Thank's for your help. I haven't the skills for checking the code.

  • [SOLVED]yaourt wants to build dependencies from AUR

    Hi,
I've installed kdemod4... the only problem is that yaourt wants ti install all the dependences of the package(s) i've choose from aur, altough dependencies are present in extra (correct version). How can i solve this??
    An example is:
cairo-lcd: i have to build all the dependencies from aur, like libpng, etc; but i see from PKGBUILD that the version that needs cairo-lcd is present in extra repository...
    thanks in advance
Last edited by chesterfork (2009-07-13 10:07:26)

..i'm running kdemod 4 x86_64...so if i try install everything using yaourt the dependencies are shown in this way:
    ==> lib32-cairo-lcd dependencies:
    - lib32-gcc-libs (building from AUR)
    - lib32-libpng (building from AUR)
    - lib32-libxrender (building from AUR)
    - lib32-fontconfig (building from AUR)
    - lib32-pixman (building from AUR)
    - lib32-xcb-util (building from AUR)
if it could help i found this:
    chesterfork ~ $ yaourt -S lib32-cairo
    lib32-cairo not found on AUR
Packages that were installed as dependencies but are no longer required by any installed package:
    error:
what about the error? it's a blank line.... i checked yaourtrc in /etc but it seems ok..
It's happen even if i have these packages installed (and checking in pkg build they have are the same version). EVERYTIME yaourt shows that; cairo, cairo-lcd, bin32-skype-lib32-cairo-lcd....eveything i tried it needs dependencies from aur ONLY. That's the problem....there is a solution??

  • [SOLVED] Unable to build packages from AUR (build: command not found)

I recently hosed the filesystem on my arch install of ~8 months. I reinstalled arch today and didn't have many problems since I had backups of many important config files. Anyways, I still need to get a few programs installed from AUR, but nothing I get from AUR will build.
I download the tarball, extract into a folder in /home/myuser/builds and then go into that folder and run makepkg -s (as always)
It checks the files and extracts/downloads them. Then I get the following error message:
    ==> Starting build()...
/usr/bin/makepkg: line 741: build: command not found
    ==> ERROR: Build Failed.
    Aborting...
I've run abs and I checked out the abs wiki page, I've also installed base-devel. I am not sure what else I need to do, the error message is not specific enough.
The packages I have been trying to install are      ttf-ms-fonts 2.0-7,      keepass 2.14-2, and I also tried ttf-vista-fonts 1-3. I am fairly certain that it is not a problem with the PKGBUILD files.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

    cyrus wrote:Have you tried Yaourt?
Nope, haven't tried that, I think mainly because I wanted to learn how to use pacman and how to build using ABS. At this point I think I know how to use pacman/abs, as much as this thread might make it appear that I dont
I'll give it a try, as I frequently install software from AUR. In the past I think I let software from the AUR get outdated, Yaourt (clumsy name) sounds like it would help that a bit. Thanks!
Edit: BTW, I really love Arch. I tried it out on a flash drive about 8 months ago (maybe more), and after about 12 hours I was sold and installed it on the drive that Windows XP previously held. Even considering that I had many problems during the initial install, but they were all problems that caused me to learn and were easy to resolve. Seriously, I have lots of Windows tech experience, but only Arch forced me to learn Linux. I had tried Ubuntu previously but it was such a bore, and the problems tended to be hard to find solutions for. I try to convince my other Linux using friends to try arch, but they see it as too hands-on. I don't see it that way, it is very hands off after initial configuration, and the initial config only takes a week or less on the first try and a day and a half (or so) if you re-install. Having backups of your config files is of course a huge deal, and I am glad I had most of those.
Really, I love Arch Linux, it has taught me so much.

  • [SOLVED] Installing Catalyst drivers from AUR

    Hi everyone!
Got me an new laptop and have an Radeon HD 3200 in it and hoped to get it working but
I dont managed to get it to work so I hoped someone here could help me
    Ive tested the xf86-video-ati
                         xf86-video-radeonhd
                         xf86-video-radeonhd-git
But those does get it to work but the performance is really shit and I really want 3d acceleration
so I decided to give the catalyst 9.4-1 from AUR a go.
Installs with yaourt and everything seems to go fine but when I startx it goes back to command line.
    My xorg:
    Section "ServerFlags"
          Option "DontZap" "false"
    EndSection
    #Section "Module"
    #      Load "glx"
    #      Load "dri"
    #      Load "drm"
    #EndSection
    Section "Device"
          Identifier "Card0"
          Driver "fglrx"
    #      Option "AccelMethod" "exa"
    #      Option "DRI" "on"

    EndSection
    #Section "DRI"
    #      Group "video"
    #      Mode 0666
    #EndSection
The commented lines were used for the radeonhd driver.
Here is the Xorg.0.log when using fglrx driver:

Thanks greenfish for your help I changed my xorg.conf to this:
    Section "ServerLayout"
    Identifier "aticonfig Layout"
    Screen "aticonfig-Screen[0]-0" RightOf "Screen0"
    EndSection
    Section "ServerFlags"
    Option "DontZap" "false"
    Option "AllowMouseOpenFail" "true"
    Option "AutoAddDevices" "true"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "aticonfig-Monitor[0]-0"
    Option "VendorName" "ATI Proprietary Driver"
    Option "ModelName" "Generic Autodetecting Monitor"
    Option "DPMS" "true"
    EndSection
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "aticonfig-Device[0]-0"
    Driver "fglrx"
    BusID "PCI:1:5:0"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "aticonfig-Screen[0]-0"
    Device "aticonfig-Device[0]-0"
    Monitor "aticonfig-Monitor[0]-0"
    DefaultDepth 24
    SubSection "Display"
    Viewport 0 0
    Depth 24
    EndSubSection
    EndSection
And now I get into X with the catalyst driver and it seems much smoother than with
    the radeonhd driver.
But now comes the next problem, when I try to launch a 3d application such as tuxkart
    I get this outout:
    [johan@acer ~]$ tuxkart
Data files will be fetched from: '/usr/share/games/tuxkart'
X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 137 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
Serial number of failed request: 21
Current serial number in output stream: 21
Anyone knows anything about this? glxgears gives me the same results.

  • [SOLVED] Cannot build lightspark

    Hi,
I have tried to build lightspark 0.7.2-1 and lightspark-git 20130215-2 from AUR but it always fails with same errors: "A failure occurred in build().".
I also tried to modify the pkgver to 0.7.1 in the lightspark PKGBUILD to see if it was verion related, but it didn't change anything.
Here is the output of lightspark 0.7.2-1 (note that I temporarily changed the locale to English to post it on the forum):
    bp@bp-laptop ~
    > yaourt -S lightspark
==> Downloading lightspark PKGBUILD from AUR...

When I tried to build, I got that it failed with an error:
    [ 4%] Building CXX object src/CMakeFiles/spark.dir/scripting/abc.cpp.o
/home/gregory/lightspark/src/lightspark-0.7.2/src/scripting/abc.cpp:26:25: fatal error: llvm/Module.h: No such file or directory
    #include llvm/Module.h
Apparently this had to do with a change in naming in LLVM 3.3, which is now released, and that broke the code.
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/lightspark/+bug/1157158
The issue was fixed in the development version, but hasn't been officially released yet. I'm not sure if there's a workaround for this release that can be incorporated into the PKGBUILD or if it should just stay broken until the official upstream release, but in the meantime, the lightspark-git package should provide a program that compiles. Just thought I'd give a heads-up.

I am seeing errors similar to the following when I try to build this package.

I only included one such error here, but these appear to be numerous. Am I missing a package that hasn't been included as a dependency? I'm building on a 64-bit system with 8 processor cores that satisfies all the dependencies listed above.

It seems lightspark was written for an old version of ffmpeg.  I was able to solve some problems with patches, but more and more would keep popping up.
There is a -git version which should work.  I'm compiling it now to verify - and so far so good (but it's taking a while on my old hardware).
    EDIT: confirmed, lightspark-git builds fine.

  • Error when building programs from AUR

I had a problem installing screen-git from the AUR.  I kept getting this error message, ./autogen.sh: /bin/sh^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory, when trying to build this package.
At first I thought it might just be a problem with the screen-git pkgbuild, but I tried to install something else from AUR and got the same message.   I usually install things with Yaourt, so I thought it may be a problem with that.  I tried to manually install something from the AUR and got the same error. It seems to be affecting anything that needs to be built from source, so I'm wondering if it is a problem with my makepkg.conf.
I couldn't seem to find anything posted in the forums.  Any help will be appreciated.

I fixed the problem.  It was only affecting packages from a git repository. I checked and for some reason only on one of my computers, git was setup to add dos newline characters.
With a simple change to my .gitconfig file, changing autocrlf = false, fixed the problem.   Thanks for everyone's help.

No idea how to do this with yaourt but why not just:
    download the tar.gz from AUR
download and extract source with makepkg -o
    edit time.cpp to correct headers
use makepkg -e to build without overwriting the modified file
use pacman -U to install the resulting pkg.tar.gz
You forgot the important "submit patch upstream" step.
guilty as charged , however I only skipped it because tomk already excluded patching.

  • [SOLVED] How to install from AUR?

Ok, I know I'm posting too many questions too fast but I'm at the last step in configuring my videocard driver to install X and I'm stranded in the middle of nowhere, sorry for too much posting.
I need to install a package from AUR but even I read the guide (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AUR_User_Guidelines) I can't make it clear enough on how to do it so please correct me if there's anything wrong.
    a. first of all, I need to download and install wget because I'm at CLI ready to configure X but I need the latest test drivers that fully support my videocard.
    b. mkdir ~/myuser/build && cd ~/myuser/build
    c. I need to download from here (http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=34773) the Tarball, PKGBUILD and all the files listed in "Files", right?
    d. Once I have files downloaded all I need to do is follow the instructions in the wiki,
       1.  Acquire a PKGBUILD  and any other required files (e.g. patches)
       2. Run makepkg in the directory where the files are saved
       3. Install the resulting package with pacman
    Thanks for any advice!

    guys,
did you ever saw that Heineken TV Ad where a woman shows her dresser-room to her fellow friends and they start screaming like (women does) crazy, and while they still screaming a lot they start to hear a somewhat identical scream from other part of the house that in fact shows up as the boyfriend/husband of the first lady showing his buddys his special fridge-room filled with green bottles?
Well, that was my *exact* impression yesterday after having KDE4 up and running with composite turned on faster than any Fluxbox system on a iCore 7, and that's the top part of the iceberg.
I think the best thing I like about Arch it's it's simplicity - besides it's speed. Okay, it may seem somewhat obscure to profane because editing configuration files is something strange to profanes, but if you have a little knowledge of GNU/Linux like myself once completed the Beginner's Guide, looking at /var/log/pacman.log and start tweaking you found yourself with a very powerfull yet easy to use, easy and fast to learn system. Arch is incredible, that's why it's gaining so much popularity, and it's community is superb.
I'm doing my first steps around it and find Yaourt a very cool tool, I love all the info it shows about installed and AUR packages and the way it colorize, very pragmatic-oriented (as Arch is).
On the other hand Packer is a swift tool to replace pacman.
Thank you guys for your kindness and time spent on this n00b, best!

Should I wait ? (maybe server is down or URL moved ? )

  • [SOLVED] Makepkg, install dependencies from AUR.

Is it possible for makepkg to install the dependencies from AUR with makepkg -si?
    Last edited by lemanski6 (2012-09-20 18:05:38)

Nope.  Many "AUR helpers" do this though.  In my limited experience yaourt seems to be one that handles this seemlessly, but I'd say it comes with some costs of hiding what is doing from the user.

  • Cannot build JDS3 from source

I recently successfully installed Solaris 10 from the media kit on an x86 machine. I also successfully downloaded the JDS3 source tarballs and bunzip'd and untar'd them. I eventually figured out how to set my PATH (and LD_LIBRARY_PATH) environment variable up so that all the requisite tools for building JDS3 from source are in my path. However, I'm failing miserably when I try to use 'pkgbuild --rebuild /path/to/somepackage-src', as  detailed in the instructions on building JDS3 from source. The errors I get depend on what package I try the pkgbuild on. I really only want to be able to peruse the source code (especially the GNOME sources included with the JDS3 source), so I would be happy just to get the "prep" or maybe the "compile" phases of pkgbuild to work, if not the entire rebuild. I have googled and visited  solaris /jds forums for days, and have yet to discover any good information about how to build JDS3 from source on Solaris 10. Surely there are a bunch of people who successfully do this. Can anyone point me to some helpful info? Thanks in advance...

I am using the macro _TARGET_PRODUCT_VERSION_ which yields major, minor, service and build version (but without the autoincrement)

  • Problem building 'fuppe' from AUR

Okay, so I'm using yaourt to build fuppes-svn from the AUR, it worked fine before I reformatted and reinstalled my /, but now it won't compile for a reason I'm not completely sure of. Anyways, the link below is the output, any help is greatly appreciated.

Wow I feel super dumb now >_< Thanks a lot, should be able to get this working quickly now.

  • [SOLVED] Cannot build Gnash on x86_64

I would like to build a custom Gnash with changes to the renderer and media options (--enable-renderer=all and --enable-media=gst), however, I am on a 64-bit system and my builds (I've tried gnash-common through the ABS and gnash-trunk-git from the AUR) consistently abort with these errors:

    (it aborts here)
Google turns up nothing useful, unfortunately. I recall having this issue on Debian as well, so it's not Arch-specific (but it is architecture-specific-- my Debian install was 64-bit as well). What can I do to fix this?
Last edited by DrKillPatient (2012-07-05 23:27:12)

Aha, I've fixed it. Info on this error was quite hard to find, but I found something on a mailing list mentioning that if one uses a multilib system, 64-bit with both /usr/lib and /usr/lib32, Gnash will use /usr/lib32, although it shouldn't do so. In order to fix this bug, one must edit the "libslist" file at gnash-0.8.10/macros/libslist. In it, there are two entries that include "lib32". Remove those entries entirely (entries are separated by spaces), then build Gnash as normal. (Since I used the gnash package from the ABS, this required the usual 'makepkg -s', albeit with a modfied PKGBULD that replaces the default macros/libslist with a fixed version before building.) Packages for gnash-gtk and gnash-common should be generated.
I applied this fix to gnash 0.8.10 from the community repo, but I assume it works similarly with gnash-git from the AUR.
EDIT: Well, it installed... but it's just giving me a blank video area when I open a Youtube page. Running firefox from the terminal gives me no error messages...
EDIT 2: Any one of various versions of gnash (git, community repo, custom builds)  seem to give a blank video area on Youtube. Still no error messages. What can I do now?
