[solved]Cryptdevice not asking for passwd, LVM not accessible

So,after the latest kernel upgrade, Arch won't boot.
What have I done so far;
First I ran this commands;
cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sda ar ro
modprobe dm-mod
vgscan
vgchange -ay
Then I try to mount them, and chroot into my install.
mkdir /mnt/arch
mount /dev/ch/ro /mnt/arch
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/arch/boot
mount /dev/ch/ho /mnt/arch/home
mount /dev/ch/va /mnt/arch/var
mount /dev/ch/tp /mnt/arch/tmp
arch-chroot /mnt/arch
This brings me into chroot, checking home dir, everything is oke, so far!
I try updating with pacman -Syyu, but no updates.
Reinstalled mkinitcpio and Linux,
Ran mkinitcpio -p linux, unchroot,unmount and reboot didn't solve it.
I was running grub legacy, installed Grub2 in chroot, but this leads me to the same problem.
What should happen normaly,
I boot and it should ask for the password to decrypt volume 'ch'.
It doesn't and comes with an error not being able to find the root device on /dev/mapper.
If it's not asking for the crypt-password in the first place, of course it won't be able to find the root-device;)
Perhaps boot is going to fast and it just runs over decrypting the LVM.
Maybe there is something wrong with my kernel line, but I don't see it,(
/vmlinuz-linux root=/dev/mapper/ch-ro ro cryptevice=/dev/sda2:ar ro
My mkinitcpio.conf

So, I miss somethings in my mkinitcpio.conf, I will investigate , but it strikes me a little bit since I never changed anything.
Ah, I remember having a upgrade for mkinitcpio.conf a few days or more back, will look into it.
Update: after falconindy's hint') added lvm2 and encrypt to the hooks.
After that I ran; grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg && mkinitcpio -p linux
The system boots, but I have to add; cryptdevice=/dev/sda2:ar ro in grub by hand!

Mozilla would not have installed Outook Express on your computer, they do not offer Microsoft programs. This would have been something that you or somebody using your computer would have installed.
Check the Windows control panel add/remove programs for Outlook Express, you should be able to uninstall it from there.

Why is Apple putting music on my iPhone that I did not ask for and do not want ?

I have a Mac Pro and an iPod Classic that I use for my music.
I noticed today that some of my purchased music was on my iPhone iTunes app. I did not ask for these to be installed.
Also, I noticed that when I tap on a song, sometimes it plays, sometimes nothing happens.

These are thousands of songs that I purchased using my Mac Pro. I sync my iPod Classic with a USB cable to move the songs to the iPod.
Now, my purchased songs (not the ones imported into my Mac Pro using a CD), are in my iPhone. I do not use the cloud. I have been very careful not to sign up for anything related to the cloud.
I'm trying to figure out why Apple is forcing this on me.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

[SOLVED] hplip not asking for administrator privileges

I'm trying to setup My HP PSC but when is ready to setup , it does not ask for administrator privileges password so the setup fails .
i tough it was related to just my printing settings but when using Shaman it lets me select the software programs that I want to install but the apply never gets turn green and if i use the icon to force the installation it fails, looks like it never tryes to ask for the admin password to proceed ???? any ideas?

Gsmartcontrol polkit problem: Not asking for password anymore [solved]

polkit-gnome 0.105-2
gsmartcontrol 0.8.7-4

When trying to use gsmartcontrol as normal user it does not ask for permission anymore but starts and the drives are shown as 'unknown model' now.
The polkit-gnome-authentication is autostarted at boot and works fine with gparted e.g.
But with gsmartcontrol I get:
polkitd[356]: Operator of unix-session:c1 FAILED to authenticate to gain authorization for action org.archlinux.pkexec.gparted for unix-process:1126:101937 [/bin/bash /usr/bin/gparted_polkit] (owned by unix-user:user)
How can I get gsmartcontrol working again as normal user?
SOLUTION:
Use '/usr/bin/gsmartcontrol_polkit' instead of (de)fault '/usr/bin/gsmartcontrol' in your starter.

I sometimes have the same problem, but there's a secure way to overcome this behaviour : when you have finished your purchases, simply go to "configuration" and "store" folder where you'll simply deactivate your account. It's the safest way, sure.
When you wish to access appstore again, go to this folder back and activate. ID & Password will be required then to download.

Why does my G5 not ask for my pswd when mounting a .dmg when my iBook does?

i have an app on a disk that i am trying to put on my iMac G5. it opens but does not ask for my password. when i click the installer it goes through a couple stages but then says "there is nothing to open". so, i take this disk and put it in my iBook, it opens and i get the prompt asking for my password, i type it in, click the installer and the app installs no problem. i've opened apps from a disk before on my iMac with no problems. i get the same error response if i use the diskmounter or disk utility. if anyone has any ideas i'd be almost next to eternally grateful.

I have read the the advice you gave, and I had already tried that. It did not help.
When I tried to download an album with nine songs, (I have paid for the complete album), two songs were missing. One of them has showed up/disappeared a couple of times, but with a cloud/arrow-symbol next to it, what I thought to be a symbol for downloading from the cloud. When I click it, it starts a downloading process, and then I am told it cannot be done, "please try again later". The other song is nowhere to be seen. The song with the cloud/arrow-symbol, I bought 3 times, once with the album, twice just the song. That didn't change matters. iTunes tells me I have downoladed all songs I have purchased.
I do not really understand why you do not understand what I am writing, I only describe what happens when I use iTunes.
If a person want to use iCloud, one needs an iPhone, iPad or an iPod Touch. That information is not given until you have downloaded and installed the iCloud program. That is why I have it on my computer, but cannot use it. To set up an iClod account, you have to connect one of the above mentioned devices. I don't have one, so I cannot do it.
If you want the (13013) problem explained, I suggest you google it. I am not the only one to have that problem.

At the top of the iTunes Store window, you will see who is logged into iTunes. I'm guessing from your description, that it is your husband. If it is, click on the name to display the dropdown, log him out and sign yourself back in:\

Again, this only affects you if someone *redownloaded* content with a different ID. In my case, I emailed iTunes Store support, explained the situation, and they reset the counter. I recommend you try the same
If you read discussion boards, this is a significant change from a year ago, when Apple told people in the same situation to go f&$# themselves. Clearly it's dawning on them that this is a stupid policy, and my guess is if people keep complaining they'll change it to something more reasonable. Hold the shift key at boot time, then run through this list, did you install anything recently or perform a update of some third party software? Uninstall it.

You would think they would set as default that Password was required - Imediatly . But they know there likely to get more purchases the way the default set it..
