[SOLVED] Eclipse won't load workbench

Hey guys.
Today I wanted to reinstall eclipse, to get rid of some garbage that has accumulated over time.
So I just removed it.
pacman -Rs eclipse
And reinstalled it with pacman.
Now if i try to start up eclipse it asks which workspace I want to load and then gives me this error:
JVM terminated. Exit code=1
/usr/bin/java
-Xms40m
-Xmx512m
-XX:MaxPermSize=256m
-jar /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20120522-1813.jar
-os linux
-ws gtk
-arch x86_64
-showsplash /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.platform_4.2.2.v201302041200/splash.bmp
-launcher /usr/share/eclipse/eclipse
-name Eclipse
--launcher.library /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.gtk.linux.x86_64_1.1.200.v20120913-144807/eclipse_1502.so
-startup /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20120522-1813.jar
--launcher.overrideVmargs
-exitdata 720005
-vm /usr/bin/java
-vmargs
-Xms40m
-Xmx512m
-XX:MaxPermSize=256m
-jar /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20120522-1813.jar
Does anybody know where this error could come from?
The best would be if I could totally remove eclipse from my system and just reinstall it from scratch.
I really need eclipse to work, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Knuke

Update: and even with openjdk I have the same problem
Previously had it with Oracle's jdk
I have no ideas what to do, even deleted tons of things from workspace dir. And csrolling in the text editor crashes eclipse

I discovered problem. It's caused by NetworkManager after last update (libsystemd.0.so trouble).
Recompile pkg by yourself to get working NetworkManager.

  • SOLVED Sqlitebrowser won't load since update changed dependency to Qt5

I think this is the first qt5 program I've tried to run.  I didn't even have the qt5-base package until sqlitebrowser updated and pulled it down as a new dependency.  Anywhere here's the error I'm getting which seems to be common among qt5 apps but I can't find a solution:
    $ sqlitebrowser
This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt platform plugin "xcb".
Available platform plugins are: eglfs, kms, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, xcb.
Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
    Aborted
I already have the xcb packages though is what confuses me
    $ pacman -Qs xcb
    local/cairo 1.12.16-2
    Cairo vector graphics library
    local/lib32-libxcb 1.10-2
    X11 client-side library (32-bit)
    local/libxcb 1.10-2
    X11 client-side library
    local/xcb-proto 1.10-2
    XML-XCB protocol descriptions
    local/xcb-util 0.3.9-1
    Utility libraries for XC Binding
    local/xcb-util-image 0.3.9-1
Utility libraries for XC Binding - Port of Xlib's XImage and XShmImage functions
    local/xcb-util-keysyms 0.3.9-1
Utility libraries for XC Binding - Standard X key constants and conversion to/from keycodes
    local/xcb-util-renderutil 0.3.9-1
Utility libraries for XC Binding - Convenience functions for the Render extension
    local/xcb-util-wm 0.4.1-1
Utility libraries for XC Binding - client and window-manager helpers for ICCCM
I'm running KDE if it matters.  Since KDE is qt4 based, maybe there's a conflict there.  Really not sure at this point.

    Korrode wrote:
    Do you have libxkbcommon-x11 installed?
    EDIT: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/40569
The nice folks on IRC helped me conclude that that was indeed the package I was missing and installing it solved my problem.  I'm thinking about filing a bug report on qt5-base suggesting they add libxkbcommon-x11 as a dependency (right now it's only an optional dependency) as it's very small, doesn't have many dependencies of its own, and nearly everyone running qt5 at the moment is going to be running X
If they're trying to make qt5 not dependent on X for Wayland support, they're already failing anyway because qt5-base depends on libxrender and libxi which both depend on libx11.  Libxkbcommon actually does not depend on libx11 and it's only dependency besides glibc (installed on nearly 100% of Arch systems) is the 5MB xkeyboard-config with no dependencies of its own and installed on 94% of Arch systems as it's required by xorg-server-common.
    EDIT:  And bug reported:
    https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/41055
EDIT 2:  Marking this as solved.  The initial bug report for adding the dependency to qt5-base was denied so I filed one for sqlitebrowser and the developer added the dependency there.

  • [SOLVED] Games won't load through Steam

I'm on 32bit and can't run any opengl games through steam recently,
I don't know whether its after the latest nvidia, steam or xorg upgrades, I just can't pin it down.
Running Day Of Defeat or Counter-Strike 1.6 I get:
wine client error:42: write: Bad file descriptor
...it freezes and fails to get to the game menu.
    [SOLVED]
It's a recent steam update that breaks some games:
Bug 24096 -  08/19/2010 Steam client update breaks many games
    [TEMP FIX 1]
Start Steam, then rename 'GameOverlayRenderer.dll' to something else, then start game.
    [TEMP FIX 2]
Taking the above fix into account:
A rename script, so Steam doesn't download the .dll after every start.
    #!/bin/bash
    export WINEPREFIX=~/games/steam/.wine
    cd ~/games/steam
    wine Steam.exe &
    sleep 4
    mv GameOverlayRenderer.dll GameOverlayRenderer.dll.bak
    wait
    mv GameOverlayRenderer.dll.bak GameOverlayRenderer.dll

  • [Solved] Xorg won't load properly

    Intro:
This is my first post on these forums. It's been a while since I messed with linux and I recently had some free time and wanted to get back into it. Back in the day, I would spend days trying to get a Gentoo install working and it was a lot of fun. However the novelty of this eventually wore off and the end result was Ubuntu. However Ubuntu isn't my destination. I'm a tinkerer. I hate bloat. I love tweaking things to maximum efficiency and that is what attracted me to Gentoo.
I decided to start with Ubuntu when I came back to linux a couple days ago. It's still the same as I remember. It just seems slow to me and I hate having a massive amount of packages installed that I did not ask for. I ended up doing a few hours of research to find a new distro and what ended up leading me to Arch was a google search for simply "better than Gentoo". So far, I love Arch. From the simple website layout (I love simple.) to the amazing installation guides, to the wiki, and the list goes on. I want this to be my main distro so badly but I've hit a little snag.
    The install:
I followed the instructions to a T. I read every paragraph more than once to make sure I got it right. Some of my linux experience is coming back and the installation of the base system ended up being problem-free. Now time for Xorg. Installing Xorg took about 17 seconds. Back when I messed with Gentoo I can remember emerging XFree would be an overnight endeavor. I followed every step of the instructions to a T again.
    The problem:
Having not messed with linux in a while I have to admit by ability to write a config file is probably garbage. After installing the proprietary NVidia driver and doing everything that the installation guide said, I went into the advanced NVidia guide to make sure I hadn't missed anything and did a few extra things recommended in there.
When it came time to startx, the NVidia logo flashed, and I was greeted with a black screen. My gut told me it was hardlocked. Key combinations that should have gotten me out of it weren't working, but I guess it could have been a termination of my inputs. I tried a few things like disabling hot-plugging but that didn't seem to help at all. Now, after a few hours of scouring the Arch forums, the wiki, and googling everything I could find, the best I've managed to do was get X to open with 3 terminal windows, a clock in the upper right, all barebones graphics, and either completely hardlocked, or with the mouse/keyboard disabled. Every time I startx ends in me needing to restart the computer.
Having read countless forum posts in search of an answer, I'm aware how annoying people like me can be. Not finding the answer on our own... expecting a miracle cure from more experienced users...
But I can assure you I've put in plenty of time on this, and when I get home from work today I plan to put more time into it. But any advice or points in the right direction would be massively appreciated.
A couple specific questions would be, is there a log file somewhere I can read the error messages if any that X is spitting out before it locks up? I tried googling for that but the log file didn't appear to exist.
Also for a NVidia 9200M can anyone tell me if just pacman -S nvidia is correct? Or do I need a specific package. I proceeded under the assumption that my 6 month old laptop should use the newest, "nvidia" package.
Sorry if this is long winded, but I wanted to provide a little background so I don't get a generic RTFM response :)

    Welcome to Arch Zelgius
Tuition tells me that you need to be more specific with the driver you installed, I dont think that pacman -S nvidia will get you the driver you need.  Consult the nvidia wiki (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA).
If that doesnt work then i would go back to the "install video drive package" section of the beginners guide and try the open source xf86-video-nv driver to see if your gpu works period.

Try this from MacFixIt as well:
In the case of drive directory damage or problems with permissions, the solution is usually to use Apple's Disk Utility to repair the disk. Of course, you won't be able to perform this operation normally (simply launching the Disk Utility application, located in Applications/Utilities, and initiating a disk repair) if your system will not startup. So two options exist:
    * Insert your Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) media (DVD or CD) and restart the computer while holding down the "C" key. Once the computer has booted from the installation disc, select "Utilities" from the menubar and open Disk Utility. Repair the disk, then quit Disk Utility and restart your system.
    * Alternatively, you can repair the disk while booted in single user mode if you do not have access to a retail Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) DVD/CD. To startup in single user mode, hold down the "Command" and "S" keys simultaneously at startup. Once properly booted, type the command fsck at the prompt. Repeat these process until no errors appear.

  • (SOLVED)Farmville 2 won't load

Anyone on here play Farmville 2? I have tried multiple times and many different solutions, but I have yet to find out why Farmville 2 won't load. It loads halfway, then stops. I can run the game in Linux Mint, so I'm wondering if there is just some file that I'm missing to run the game. I have installed flashplayer from the repositories, as well as pepperflash from the AUR. Nothing seems to work. It doesn't work on Firefox, either. I have just done a full system upgrade, but nothing related to flashplayer or video drivers were updated. Oh, yes, I'm running the Intel video drivers on my system. I have tried running the Catalyst drivers, and EVERY time I do so, I end up with a blank screen and I have to do a reinstall to fix it. Any help would be appreciated!!!

  • AI file that has loaded many times previously into FC, now won't load

I am starting to lose my mind working with Flash Catalyst.   I have created a file within AI CS5, imported into FC CS5 numerous times, now all of a sudden it won't load.  The error message "Error initializing import libraries" appears.   I had this issue happen before, but after much frustration, I went back and re-created the AI file under the Flash Catalyst New Document profile and that seemed to solve the problem, now, even with an AI file created with the FC document profile, a document that has loaded into FC MANY times successfully, all of a sudden won't load.   Of course I am at the end of the project and was ready to export the final SWF files and it does this.  I am about ready to throw my computer out the window at this point.
It is not a large file, under 1MB in fact, so that is not the issue.   Is there some kind of FC cache somewhere on my computer that I need to clear out?   I have scoured the internet looking for a solution as I have a deadline of Wednesday of this week for this project and I can't find anything helpful.  This is beyong frustrating and seems to make no sense as the AI file has imported successfully in it's current state many times.
I tried to rebuild the project, move its file location, rename it, cut and paste it into FC and nothing seems to work.  In fact, I can't cut and paste a simple object at this point without getting the "Error initializing import libraries" error message.   PLEASE HELP ME ADOBE!   I AM DYING HERE!!!   Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!

I found the FC log files and the log for my last attempt at importing my AI file is below.  Do I have a Java issue?   This is WAY above my pay grade, but I'm hoping maybe it's a simple fix?  Run Java update?

  • CFB won't load after update 1

I'm running CFB plugin on Eclipse 3.5.1 on Win 7 x64. I purchased CFB right after update 1 came out, restarted eclipse, entered my key, updated the software, restarted eclipse using the -clean option, and everything worked great. I've been using it for the past week. However, I just restarted eclipse for the first time since I've updated, and it won't load CFB. I get the following error:

    Please help!!!

To fix this, I launched eclipse again with the -clean option. CFB asked me to enter a key (which I already had done before I applied update 1). I entered the key again and CFB loaded.
I had already run eclipse with the -clean option after installing CFB update 1. I double checked to make sure I didn't have to do this each time I restarted eclipse - I quit eclipse and launched it again, and CFB loaded. Everything seems to be working okay now.

  • Can't read or write some files, internet is failing, youtube won't load, software I tried to install was in Slovenian, not dutch or english like in my systempreferences settings, pictures and files won't preview with spacebar, etc. Malware?

    Specs:
    iMac 10.8.5
    3,4 GHz Intel Core i7
    32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Can't read or write some files, internet is failing, youtube won't load, security software I tried to install was in Slovenian, not dutch or english like in my systempreferences settings, pictures and files won't preview with spacebar and are randomly corrupted, when I entered something in the Youtube searchbar (when it was still working) it send me to a site with sexadds.
I tried restart my iMac and when I was logged back in, my dock preferences were reset.
Also tried to download some security software to check my Mac for malware, but when I did, I tried several, I got a notification that said something like 'dumpfiles (don't know if this is the right translation...) damaged'.
I'm taking screenshots from all the weird notifications I get and even three quarters off the screenshots I took in the last three hours are already unreadable.
It started this morning when I tried opening a Premiere Pro file on which I worked the night before.
When I tried opening it, it said the file was damaged and could not be openend.
I tried opening it with AE or importing the file in a new project but nothing helped.
When I tried looking for autosaves, this is the really weird part, there were none.
Even though there are autosaves from my other projects, this one was completely gone.
It looked like the day before never happened on my computer.
Also when I openend Premiere all the recent projects had been wiped.
So at first I thought it was a Premiere Pro failure.
But than, later on the day, I tried loading some RAW files from my compact flash card.
This is where I would get an error (error -36) which said some data cannot be read or written.
I tried importing the files with a view different technics, from dragging to importing via Lightroom and I succeeded with Image Browser.
But when I tried moving the files to an other folder the same error occurred.
While dealing with this issue I wanted to put on some soothing music on youtube.
This is when the next weird thing occurred: youtube wasn't completely loading in Chrome. I refreshed a view times, checked the internet connection and still no difference.
When I tried in Safari it did work but when I clicked enter on the searchbar in Youtube, a page with sexadds appeared (I didn't install AdBlock in Safari...).
I read about this 'phishing' where you are redirected to a site were a possible malware installment can take place...
I don't know if it's connected to any of the problems I've been having but I just never experienced this on a mac, I have been a Mac user for 10 years now.
On top of it all, internet started working worse and worse and now it's not even working at all. I had to fill in the password over and over, normally it remembers.
Just like my system preferences, all the preferences I had with Chrome where also reset.
Also somewhere in between I got this notification: Mac OS X must restore library to run programs. Type your password to allow.
To me this is all very weird and suspicious. I have clearly no idea what's going on. Could this be another sort of trojan horse or malware?
Some background info which could be helpful for solving this mystery:
two months ago the one year old Fusion Drive in my iMac just broke out of nowhere.
I got it replaced by a qualified apple repair store.
When I got my computer back, all the files where gone.
I got on the internet without AdBlock installed yet.
A game or whatever it was, can't clearly remember, got installed by accident.
    I deleted it immediately.
Only two weeks later, I couldn't log in to my account. It didn't recognize my password and username.
So I brought my mac back to the store.
Here the repair guy said it was a minor thing and he just needed to reconnect my account. He also mentioned he found a downloaded game name Sparta and it probably had something to do with the error.
I asked him; could it be a virus? He replied no way.
I don't know why I couldn't be a virus, just because it's a mac doesn't mean it cannot be done.
So today I tried installing anti virus software (such as avast- was in a weird language looked like slovenian, clamxav - was in slovenian) but I couldn't install them.
PLEASE help me! I don't know what to do anymore, I work fulltime and I need my computer, I have no time to bring it in for repair, are there other perhaps easier ways?
Could this be the work of a virus or a malware? Or is it a disk permissions issue?

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/baddns.php
    http://www.adwaremedic.com/kb/hackedrouter.php
If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

  • Tried to install OSX Mavericks now MBP won't load

    Hi all
Last night I tried to install OSX Mavericks on my MBP mid-2010 running Mountain Lion. It downloaded fine and then seemed to install fine. When the message came up saying it was going to restart automatically the spinning wheel hanged, which was the first problem. I switched off the MBP and turned it on again. It now refuses to boot up and stays on the Apple bootup screen with the spinning wheel.
I've tried to restart in recovery mode but this doesn't seem to work. It just goes back to the spinning wheel and there is no progress bar that pops up to indicate the recovery data is being downloaded from the net (I don't have a recovery partition).
I have a backup external hard drive that I can use to restore my MBP and then try upgrading again, but I can't use that until I get into recovery mode.
    Is anyone able to help?
    Thanks

Ok so I worked out how to get into recovery mode. Turns out I was doing it wrong! I used an external USB drive to access recovery mode.
I ran disk utility which identified and fixed some errors on the HD. I thought this might solve the problem but when I restarted the same problem occurred. I then restored my time machine backup which thankfully worked.
I tried installing mavericks again! Upon restarting and completing the install, I got the message 'OSX has been installed. Your computer will now restart'. After the countdown had finished I got the beach ball which span eternally again, just like last time. After about 10 mins I did a hard reset and again OSX won't load.
    Lame...

  • I just installed LV2011 and one dll from my vi won't load with the error "application configuration is incorrect"

I just installed LV2011 and one dll from my vi won't load with the error "application configuration is incorrect", which is Windows lingo for "missing package dependencies".  All the computers at my company with 2010 loaded seem to do OK.  When I do a Dependencies Walk I get missing Visual C debug dll's missing plus IEshims and wer which both have a whole tree of dependencies missing on my machine.  The Windows install is the same "Windows XP version 2002 Service Pack 3" on my PC and the working PC's. So I'm thinking I have to uninstall 2011 and go back to 2010.  Is this correct?  Those VC debug dll's were installed on the machines with 2010 in them but were not installed in mine.
I've heard the advice to recompile the dll with debug turned off but I don't have access to the source code.
    Thanks in advance.

    u87 wrote:
Thanks for the reply.  This at least tells me that going back to LV2010 is not likely to solve the problem.  The missing dll's are:
    MFC90D.dll
    MSVCR90D.dll
    IESHMS.dll
    WER.dll
And, once again, IESHMS and WER have other dependencies.  So perhaps i need to install the Visual C++ development environment.
IESHIMS.dll is an Internet Explorer DLL that gets usually delay loaded by shdocvw.dll. As delay load it can not cause DLL load errors but only runtime errors. Maybe your DLL has it as direct dependency but that is unlikely since it does not have a documented interface.
WER.dll is Windows error reporting for Vista/Win7.
MFC90D.dll is the Microsoft Foundation classes and MSVCR90D.dll is the MS C runtime library, both as debug variant.
So all the DLLs you mention are actually MS DLLs! You haven't identified the DLL that you try to access in LabVIEW that causes these error messages. IESHIMS and WER are usually delay loaded by any component that needs it and should not likely be used by non MS code.
What is the DLL you try to load into LabVIEW and by whom? Get the provider of that DLL to provide you a non Debug build of the DLL. Installing Visual C on all the machines just to make the DLL load is not a solution, besides that it is likely not legal since I doubt you have that many licenses.

  • E3000 Won't load any site.

I forgot my E3000 router password so I restarted to factory settings.
I tried to set up using the software that I downloaded for the site and It didn't work, It gave me some errors that I was able to fix later running the software from a windows XP sp3 pc (Lucky I had one of those). Anyhow, even though the software "was able to set the router" I still couldn't connect to the internet, I tried to solve this problem browsing the forums and it kept saying I I was connected to the router but the router wasn't connected to internet.
So after all, browsing and stuff I tried to restart to factory setting a couple of times reboot it and reboot my pc, currently I found out This Link (Since i don't need a login for my ISP) I realized one of the problems was my Local IP address was 192.168.1.1 so I changed to 192.168.2.1 and surprisely it showed me connected to the internet after that.
But still, I can't load any site using the router, It's like I still wasn't connected to the internet, I check "Status" and I get a IP address and everything, I have tried Release and then Renew to get a new one and it still won't load any site, I'm tired of looking around, really mad about this problem.
    Any solutions?
PS: If you got no idea you get me a very detailed guide of how to set up my router (I think I did all right though) but I got no problem resetting it again and start over as long as it fixes this problem.

Hi deimerx, first of all, how was the reset done? Did you do it by pressing the reset button down for 30 seconds while the device was on? Let me share the steps to the the proper reset :
    1. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds while the device is on.
    2. Release the button and unplug or power off the device.
    Once done, reinstall the settings.

    To further explain:
I didn't need to locate any invisible files in my case.  I discovered that I had 4 versions of the System Preferences application on my computer.  (The System Preference applicatioin is what loads the preference pains when you seledt System Preferences.)  I merely searched for "System Preferences" in spotlight.  Spotlight located 4 different versions of the System Preferences application. Some of those versions apparently tied to preference panes that used the old 32 bit encoding from the non Intel processor days.  When I clicked on the System Preferences under the Apple menue it was apparently pulling up an old version of the System Preferences applicatioin instead of the correct one in the main Applications folder.  I also noted that if I clicked on System Preferernces in the dock or directly in the the Applications folder, I would not have the problem of some of the preference panes not able to be viewed because of the " "it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac" message.  So I surmised that the correct System Preferences application was in the Applications Folder on the top level of the drive directory like it was supposed to be but that when I clicked on System Preferences from the Apple menue it was loading one of the 3 old System Preferences applications that were buried elsewhere on my hard drive.  If you find you have more than one System Preferences application on your hard drive you need to trash the other System Preferences Applications.  Before trashing the duplicates, you should test the one in the main Applications folder by directly double clicking it and make sure all the preference panes in it work properly then trash the duplicate System Preferences applications you found in spotlight.
You may also find like I did, that you not only have duplicates of the System Preferences on your hard drive but also several old duplicates of the entire Applications folder buried on your hard drive. if that is the case you should compare each folder and make sure there is nothing in the old duplicate Applications folders you still need.  You will probably find that all of the latest versions of your applications are in the main Applications folder where they should be.  If so then trash all the old duplicate Applications folders as well.  Keep only the main Applications folder on the top level of the hard drive.
Trashing all these extra old Applications folders that held old duplicates of all my applications in them on my hard drive solved a bunch of other problems I was having with some of the applications as well.
For the technically minded:  Why does this happen with Mavericks and not with Mountain Lion?  I suspect that the old Applications folders and old duplicate System Sreferences applications didn't matter to Mountain Lion because it searched for the System Preference application under the Apple menu differently than Mavericks does.  I believe Mountain Lion seached all the top levels of the Application folder before drilling down into any subfolders to find the System Preferences application.  Mavericks apparently does it the opposite way.  It searches the first subfolder in you Applications folder and drills all the way down in that subfolder first before going to the next subfolder and drilling down in that subfolder all the way to the bottom.  So it searches all the subfolders before searching the main level of the Applications folder for System Preferences.  Since my old duplicate System Preferences applications where in subfolders with titles that were earlier in the alphabet than the main System Preferences application it searched those subfolders first, found the old System Preferences application in the those earlier folders and loaded the old System Preferences first in the subfolders instead of the correct one further on in the main Applications folder.  If any one else has a better idea let me know.

  • Firefox won't load google image search results

Firefox won't load google search results. It will load the page of results with the thumbnails etc. but if you click any of them, just a loading spinning icon appears on the tab and it never loads.
    I have tried:
Both logged in and out of google account,
All other areas of google work with no problems (news, shopping etc.),
Site working perfectly in Internet Explorer,
    Running firefox in safemode,
Manually disabling all plugins and addons,
    Clearing the cache and cookies,
Opening results in new tab just results in white page with web address but it never loads,
Restarting both my PC and router.
It's not been working for at least the past 6 hours. Last time I used it was about a week ago and it was working fine then. I've not noticed any problems on any other sites this week that I can recall.

Updating firefox to version 17.0 appears to have solved this.
