[Solved] Intermittent freezing with no apparent errors in the logs
The freezing occurs without warning, and affects the whole user interface. After a few minutes, it will unfreeze for a few seconds, then freeze again. This repeats ad nauseam. The most recent time this happened, I had quite a few applications open and I decided to close them one by one during the unfreezes to see if any one of them was the culprit, but nothing was apparent.
Checking my logs reveals nothing. Here's the relevant time slot from my everything.log:

As you can see, my sysreq keys work fine even during the freeze. I've also noticed that any audio that I am playing when the system freezes continues to play normally. I'm on a 32 bit install running gnome-shell with the proprietary nvidia drivers. The freeze started when I opened a webpage with a flash video on it. I thought that flash might be the problem, but I don't think so now since 1) it wasn't the first flash video I've viewed and 2) killing the browser didn't fix the freezing problem.

Since some of these reference each other, this is the block diagram of one that doesn't reference any other erroring vi's.
What can I do to fix this?
Attachments:
BlockDiagram.png 29 KBInteresting... It must have timed out before the temporary image did, and so I did not noticed a problem until I returned.
Regardlessly, I have found the error.
Errors did exist in my VI's, In particular, one of the subVi's I called in the VI shown happened to be private only, and so couldn't be used -- now I've just made a public version for my personal use. But LabView would not show me the actual errors unless I force-ran the the program, I really don't know why I had to do this, but when I did, it showed me a nice little dialog with my errors in it.
I am confused, as when I did normal runs, it would simply complain that the VI's were invalid and would not permit the run.
Very odd. -
Dealing with J2SE CORBA errors at the WARNING level?
Sun CORBA Community:
For several years now (since we upgraded to J2SE 1.5.*) our log files have been filling up with CORBA.COMM_FAILURE errors from the Sun ORB that are thrown at the WARNING level. This has been reported as either a problem or an annoyance by a number of folks in this forum, but there has yet to be a suitable fix or work-around forthcoming.
An example stack trace is:

Why does this happen? While I can't speak for others, in our case, I know why it happens and is not something that I want to hear about at the WARNING level. We use CORBA for client/server communications and each client registers with and then receives update information from the server. If someone exits the client properly, by clicking "Exit" in the application, we deregister the client with the server and everything is fine.
However, if someone simply closes the window to terminate the application, then the next time there is an update, the server tries to send it to a non-existent client and, bingo, we get a CORBA.COMM_FAILURE exception. Of course, getting users to properly exit rather than simply closing the window is a losing battle ....
While I would argue that this is not a WARNING level problem, that's the way that Sun has chosen to define it in the underlying CORBA stuff.
So, does anyone have an effective means of dealing with this problem. I thought that I should be able to override the logging level for the appropriate class and change it from WARNING to something lower such as FINE so that our logs listening to INFO level or higher wouldn't see them.
However, my efforts to do this .... and I don't pretend to be a java.logging wizard ... failed. Maybe I was not resetting the level of the appropriate class. Should the java.logging API let me override a logging level for one of the CORBA classes?
Any insights or suggestions as to how to better deal with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your consideration,
JohnHi,
I hope you have carried out the following activities:
1. Carry out standard cost estimate for the materials involved.
2. Check KKPAN to see the cost details of the product.
Need more details on the steps that you have carried out so far.
Regards,
SGP.

How do I fix this? Thanks,OK, OSX can read that but not write, but...
A few options...
You could format that HDD as Fat32/MS-DOS, but you'd be limited to 4 GB Filesizes.

Import Fails, No Error in the Logs
I am trying to do a full export and import, including SSO, SEC, CAs and Pages, but not all pages import, only the first few pages actually import.
No error in the log files.
Any guidance as to what I should be looking for to see where it fails? If you haven't already, try reading over ALL of the Portal Export/Import FAQ located on OTN's PortalCenter at:
http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/OTN_CONTENT/MAINPAGE/DEPLOY_PERFORM/EXPORT_IMPORT_FAQ_1120.HTM
In particular, the troubleshooting and error message sections in the above FAQ should help. If not, then let us know.

Photoshop CS6 intermittently freezes with no error
Photoshop CS6 periodically freezes on my iMac running 10.9.5. It did the same thing on 10.9.4. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling; this did not help. I don't use any plug-ins and haven't modified Preferences. When it freezes, there is no error message, but I cannot move the main Photoshop window, nor can I click on any buttons or move sliders or use any of the options in panels. Curiously, I can pull down menus in the top menu bar (File, Edit, Image, etc.) but since these menu options open dialog boxes that are not functional, I'm pretty much dead-in-the-water.
If I open the Force Quit Applications window (Cmd-Option-Esc), Photoshop looks like it is running normally, i.e. it doesn't say "Not Responding". If I Force Quit anyway and restart, Photoshop behaves normally for a while (time varies) and then freezes again.
This behavior does not seem to be associated with any particular action or command that I can discern. If I don't Force Quit, then Photoshop eventually recovers on its own and starts working normally for awhile before freezing again. Anyone have suggestions for corrective steps?BOILERPLATE TEXT:
Note that because this is boilerplate text, not all points may apply to any given, specific poster.
If you give complete and detailed information about your setup and the issue at hand,
such as your platform (Mac or Win),
exact versions of your OS, of Photoshop (not just "CS6", but something like CS6v.13.0.6) and of Bridge,
your settings in Photoshop > Preference > Performance
the type of file you were working on,
machine specs, such as total installed RAM, scratch file HDs, total available HD space, video card specs, including total VRAM installed,
what troubleshooting steps you have taken so far,
what error message(s) you receive,
if having issues opening raw files also the exact camera make and model that generated them,
if you're having printing issues, indicate the exact make and model of your printer, paper size, image dimensions in pixels (so many pixels wide by so many pixels high). if going through a RIP, specify that too.
etc.,
someone may be able to help you (not necessarily this poster).
a screen shot of your settings or of the image could be very helpful too.

My Early 2008 iMac freeze with no apparent reason
I have an Early 2008 iMac (2.66GHz Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM).
Since installing Lion, sometimes the computer freezes without apparent reason.
The only thing I'm sure is that this is NOT the same as the Quicktime video problem – I wasn't watching a Quicktime video, nor a Flash website when it froze. Actually, today happened while I wasnt' doing anything: the computer was on, but I was at launch.
Anyway, what happens is really strange: the screen freeze, I can't do things like change volume, but the mouse still works – albeit without producing results on screen such as dock magnification etc. Also, while the computer was frozen a Time Machine backup occured as scheduled, and I was able to stream my computer's music to my iPhone using the Home Sharing feature.
The clock also remain frozen (at 12:51), so I looked at the logs and this is what I found:

At this point I restarted the computer using the power button.
For the record, a few months ago I replaced the hard drive thinking it could be the problem – good thing I needed more space anyway because it happened twice AFTER I replaced it.
Any help?Welcome to Lion, I have 10.7.4 and this has been a problem every two weeks or so since 10.7.1. Fun.

I have an HP LaserJet 4345 MFP with Device Errors in my log, How do I resolve this issues. It is obvoisly not a Windows 7 issue, or a connectivitiy Issue, it is a machine issue, if you would like me to continue using HP products for my company I think you would be wise and fix your website so it will let me ask the questions I have about it so I can get a decent answer to help me resolve my issues. HP has the worst forums I've ever seen..

Mac Pro freezes frequently after "NVChannel" error in system.log
Hi,
Can anybody here with a 2008 Mac Pro run the Folding @ Home client without hard crashing the Mac?
I have a 2008-model Mac Pro, with the nVidia GeForce 8800 GT, which freezes frequently. As detailed in an earlier post[1], the graphics driver sees to be implicated, as just before the freezes, messages like this appear in the system log:
kernel kern 3/30/08 7:53:52 PM Debug NVChannel(GL): Graphics channel exception! status = 0xffff info32 = 0x6 = Fifo: Parse Error
kernel kern 3/30/08 7:53:52 PM Debug 0000000b
If you google for "NVChannel freeze" then you will find many many Mac owners whose machines freeze with similar symptoms. Apple recently released the "Leopard Graphics Update" which fixes such problems for some users, but not others.
In my 2008 Mac Pro's case, I have found a way to trigger the freeze 100% of the time: install the freeware Folding@Home client[2], and run the demo in the Applications folder. Just opening this app causes those messages to appear in the log, and then the Mac freezes.
I work for a software company which writes Mac software, so now that I have found a reliable way to reproduce this issue, I will be filing a bug report through Apple's bug system. But for my own sanity, I would like to collect more info, if possible.
If you have a 2008 Mac Pro and want to be cool, try running the Folding @ Home client app (link below) and post in this thread:
a.) whether or not your Mac froze
b.) what video card you have
c.) how much RAM you have
Thanks!
[1]: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6920946
[2]: http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadYup… this is a memory fault and you should firstly try reseating the RAM and memory Risers (even change the slots they are in - depending on your configuration of course). The can often remove these issues.
Failing that, I would contact the RAM vendor and discuss it with them. Depending on how they sell things it might be simpler to send a kit, as in two DIMMs, back for replacement rather than a single DIMM that is part of a kit. Also, unless they specifically match your original DIMMs then you'd be better of returning both. -

Need some help with DNG and error parsing the files
Ok, so I found out that I can't open NEF files with CS2 from my Nikon D3100 - unless I upgrade to CS6, or use the DNG converter. I did download the DNG converter that came with the Camera RAW 3.7 (for CS2) in one of Adobe's links, but when I try to convert the NEF files, the DNG converter says "There is an error parsing the file". If it helps, I have Windows 7. Is there a different version of the DNG converter I should be using? Thanks!
A simple Google search will find it. For some reason it isn't on the Adobe website. If you upgrade to CS6 you'll find much improvement in your raw conversions.

Unable to publish projects with inserted video - error message The Flash video can not be loaded
I've created a project in Captivate 6 with two slides that have inserted videos in them
Both the videos were created in Captivate 6 by publishing those projects as mp4 videos
They play fine in the previews but when publishing I get the error saying the Flash video can not be loaded for both of those slides and in the output files the area for the video is blank.
I have checked that the videos are not open anywhere else as I saw on a previous post this was the issue but the only place they are in use is in the project I am trying to publish.
Below are my settings and the error message
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Your screenshot indicates you are publishing to a folder on a network drive.
Have you:

Check Event Alert failed with error - No errors in the log file.
Hi All,
I am developing a simple event based alert on PO_HEADERS table. I want to send alerts when a PO is created.
I did all the steps according to the metalink note How To Send An Email In A Simple Periodic Or Event Alert? [ID 1162153.1]
When i create the PO, the alert is triggering, and Check Event Alert concurrent program is running. But the program completes with error.
Checking the output file (empty) log file (no errors)
What can i do here to find out what is the problem? There is nothing in the Alert Manager - History form also. I have kept 7 days as days to keep.
Thanks!
MCan you find any details about the error from the "View Detail" button (the same window where you check the log and output files)?
I found the Workflow logs, I am not sure what I am looking for, but i am not seeing any errors reported. The event viewer is supposed to send an email, so do you see anything in the logs that could be related?
Thanks,
