[SOLVED] ipod nano 5G 'Failed to generate sqlite database' error

If you have been experiencing this, it is due to a missing file in the iPod_Control/Device folder of the ipod. Got the solution from this post here Ipod Nano 5G with linux
I'll just list the steps here
1. Get the firewire serial id, look for a sixteen digit number in the output.
sudo lsusb -v | grep -i Serial
2. Add/Change the line 'FirewireGuid: ...' to 'FirewireGuid: 0x<firewire serial id obtained above>'
3. Get a HashInfo file from here by entering the firewire serial id (without the 0x) in the box and the click generate. Move the HashInfo file to you iPod_Control/Device folder
The error should go away afterwards

Eventually managed to solve this by forcing the iPod into disk mode (using the instructions here - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363) which kept it mounted long enough for me to alter the sync preferences.
Got there in the end, but I still can't understand why iPods don't just stay mounted until you eject them like they used to. Seems crazy.

I seem to recall that another user has this problem and found that it was because of some corrupted music files they were trying to sync over.
Try syncing smaller bunches of tracks till you come upon the ones that cause the error. You should be able to find out which ones are causing the trouble this way.
The other user said they used something called MP3Diags. I cannot vouch for this software at all, I have never used it.

  • IPod Nano 2G fails to connect to Mac Mini

I'm trying to connect a iPod Nano 2G to my Late 2009 2.53 Mac Mini but it is not detected in Finder and therefore not in iTunes. Using the same cable I have another iPod Nano 2G which is detected and works fine. Using the same both iPods are detected on a Windows 7 laptop using the same cable.
Therefore logically the problem points at the Mac Mini.
I have restored the problem iPod but still no go. Is there a list of USB devices in a .plist file or similar that I might be able to clean up?

I'm not going to comment on beta software, but I do notice that the official developer forums seem unresponsive right now.
I suggest in the future you don't wait until the last minute to install software you need ASAP. Otherwise, you may find yourself stuck on iOS7 release day when every Apple server and Apple support offering is slammed to the wall. You will probably have to wait a week or so until things settle down.

  • Ipod nano (model A1320 / 5th generation) an unknown error occured (13019).

    Hello
I have an ipod nano (model A1320), when I try to download songs that I have recently bought form my itunes account, a window pop-up will appear and say   " ipod will not sync because an unknown error occured (13019)." the songs will only appear on my itunes on my ipod when it is connected but they will not appear on the ipod itself when disconnected. so we had our friend come over to help us with the problem, after a few min. we downloaded itunes10 but the same problem occured, then I deleted the playlist holding the songs and I tried to download the playlist agian and another pop-up will say something about duplicate songs. on top of it all. I could not be able to take songs and ect. out of my ipod and into my itunes account.
Can you please help me out with this problem of mine?
         Thankyou.

    iTunes: Error 13019 during sync

  • I can't add songs to my ipod nano 5th gen. Get a sync error (13019)

Today I connected my 5th gen. nano to my windows computer to add some songs to my library. When I connected it I got a pop up saying windows had added my ipod drive to the computer. I dont know why it did this because it was already added; I've had my nano for over a year and have been using it on my computer for too. I went to add songs, and they worked. When I subsequently went to change something in a playlist, I got an error saying my ipod couldn't be synced (13019). I have never had my ipod synced so i dont know why it would say this. Now, when I try to add songs to my ipod, it doesn't work, and I get the same sync error message. I don't know what to do.

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
    • Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
    • Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.

  • Failed to Generate Wrapper Class Error With Postgresql

    Hello,
Sorry if this comes across twice, I posted it first through the Google Groups interface, but I haven't seen it show up on the dev2dev forum interface. So here it is again.
I've read the following threads that seem to be related to this
    question:

I also followed the links in the second post ( I also found them via
Google as well ). I've been very sure the Postgresql JDBC driver is
definitely in the class path. I'm able to load it with Class.forName()
from a JSP page and then use DriverManager to get a connection that
works. So that definitely means the driver is found.
    What else can cause this?
The only really odd thing I am doing is running Weblogic on OS X,
10.3.7 with all the updates. I know that this Weblogic setup works
since I work on Oracle all day (using the provided Weblogic driver in
8.1SP3). Just when I try to create a Postgresql connection for testing
    our app against Postgresql.
I've tried it on Windows with Weblogic 8.1SP3 and it works, so I know
Weblogic is capable of using this driver.

    Patrick,
    1. Could you try to test the postgress connection pool using
"Test Connection" on the pool set up page?
    2. Could you compare config.xml for broken and working installations
in part of the connection pool settings?

  • IPod Nano 6th Generation can't be restored, error code 1439...need urgent help

I haven't recharge my iPod for about 5 days. Then I plugged it into my laptop yesterday. For the 1st time it just showed the Apple logo and slept. After a while it has showed a white screen saying, "Do not disconnect" and also a forbidden sign(ø) have been blinking. Itunes says, "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with itunes." with an 'Ok' button. I've tried for several times but it can't be restored. Finally, itunes shows an eror message saying, "The iPod 'iPod' could not be restored. An unknown eror occured (1439).".

I assume you have tried everything here?
    iPod: Cannot restore or update in iTunes with error 1415, 1417, 1418, 1428, 1429, 1430, 1436, or 1439
It could be an indication of damaged or corrupted flash storage, in which case a low level reformat of the IPod and its file system might come in handy.

  • Hi my 3rd gen iPod nano is not connecting to iTunes - the error message says there is missing software to communicate with the device. I am running iTunes 10.4 on XP and I have tried all the troubleshooting routes to no avail - anybody help me out?

I can't get Itunes to communicate with my 3rd gen Nano - I've reinstalled iTunes several times but still get the same error message for both mine and my wife's ipod - same version of 3rd gen. All the troubleshooting guide has been followed but still not connecting.
    Any ideas?

Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok.

It is not the PKGBUILD's fault, apparently, as the same error occurs when I autogen-configure-make manually. So is there something wrong with my system, the python setup maybe? (I tried manually replacing "python" by "python2.7" in the Makefile – no success.) Or is it an upstream bug, maybe related to this bug? Is there anything I can do?
Sorry if the answer is obvious, but I really do not feel like I understand this python stuff properly. Also, sorry for duplicating my AUR comments – it was only today that I figured I might get more response in the forum.

Don't panic, I don't. Just did not have time before now.
EDIT: Done. I am still throwing in the towel, though. I was trying to make a gtkmm-git PKGBUILD, because I need the latest gtkmm for development. However for gtkmm-git I needed gtk-git, for which I needed glib-git and pango-git. I successfully (at least it appears so) managed to install glib-git and pango-git, but now I get a linker error with gtk-git and will not spend another day looking for its source. I will just wait until gtkmm-3.1 is released.
EDIT 2: Alright, it appears there must have been something wrong with my "successfull" installs as well, as I just started a gtk app (Balsa) and it did not have any font, just rectangles for letters. Replacing glib-git and pango-git with their stable counterparts turned everything right again.

  • MySQL Data Source causes a "Failed to Generate Wrapper Class" error

Hi all, I've created a MySQL datasource but when I make it the source for a EJB
I get the error above. I think the error occurs during deployment, rather than
while building. It seems to be having problems with the Data Source URL but I've
checked the syntax and it all seems OK. When I use a WebLogic-supplied, PointBase
datasource the deployment works OK, so it must be the way I've configured/built
my datasource. Any areas I should check before I go further? I'm using 8.1 evaluation
    version. Thanks in advance, Roy.

Thanks Flip, I tried your suggestion but I still get the same error. One bizarre
thing is that if I use the"com/mysql/jdbc/Driver", I get a ClassDefinfitionNotFound

before) and then somewhere reference explicitly the MySQL jar file in
    the
    classpath.
Then WLS will be able to find your MySQL drivers and your DS should fire
    up
    just great. Good luck.

    1. Try moving mysql.jar out of jre\lib\ext.
    2. set PRE_CLASSPATH=directory\mysql.jar
This is used in startWLS.cmd (take a quick look).

Thanks Stephen, but can you tell how I place the jar in the classpath?
    At
    the moment
    I have the line: "set
    CLASSPATH=%JAVA_HOME%\lib\tools.jar;%WL_HOME%\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar;%WL
    >
    _HOME%\server\lib\weblogic.jar;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib\ext\mysql.jar;%CLASSPATH%
in the startWLS.CMD file. Should I refer to the mysql.jar elsewhere?
    and
    is the
jar file itself in the correct directory?

You need to have the mysql jar in the server classpath.
It needs to be before the Pointbase jar(s).

Hi all, I've created a MySQL datasource but when I make it the
    source
    for
    a EJB
I get the error above. I think the error occurs during deployment, rather
    than
while building. It seems to be having problems with the Data SourceURL
    but I've
checked the syntax and it all seems OK. When I use a
    WebLogic-supplied,
    PointBase
datasource the deployment works OK, so it must be the way I'veconfigured/built
my datasource. Any areas I should check before I go further?
    I'm
    using
    8.1 evaluation
    version. Thanks in advance, Roy.
