[SOLVED] kde4.4: kontact does only display startpage
Hey there,
since upgrading to kde4.4 i am having issues running kontact. The problem is it does not know about its plugins like kmail, akregator etc. even though they are installed.
When running:
kontact --list
kontact(28561)/kdecore (KSycoca) KSycocaPrivate::openDatabase: Trying to open ksycoca from "/var/tmp/kdecache-craw/ksycoca4"
kontact(28561)/kdecore (trader) KServiceTypeTrader::defaultOffers: KServiceTypeTrader: serviceType "Kontact/Plugin" not found
So i tried this:
kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental
kbuildsycoca4 running...

My ipod touch 4th gen wont charge , turn on, wont reset, when connect it to the pc it wont be recognized, when you press a button the battery charging image will appear for a bit then gone again, black
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Using Azul media player app on my ipad Apple tv will only display sound but not video from movies. Any ideas on a fix. I set mirroring to on but it still does not display video. It will display photos and video recorded from my iphone.
Here are the steps for AirPlay:
Before starting Azul from your (running iOS 5.x/6.x) home screen where have have all your apps we need to turn on mirroring
On your iPhone 4S/5 or iPad 2 or 3, double-click the Home Button to view your recently-used apps.
Swipe all the way to the right to until you see the icon.
Note: If the icon does not appear, go to the "If AirPlay Mirroring is not visible or available on your mobile iOS device" section.
Tap the icon to see the list of available AirPlay devices.
Enable AirPlay Mirroring in this menu by tapping on an available Apple TV, then sliding the Mirroring slider to ON.
Now you should be seeing your iPad/iPhone on your TV.
Start up Azul now and using the settings icon on the top right corner go to the option that say "TV out" ON.
When you do that you will see an Orange screen
Now click "Done" and play the video you want to watch and it will AirPlay -

I have 4 flash test files. Firefox does fine butv IE9 only displays two of them
I have 4 flash test files. Firefox does fine but IE9 only displays two of them. These display vertically and are just Flash moves of rolling text. Firefox diplays them fine but IE9 only shows two to them: 1 and 4a.
flash_words-1.swf
flash_words-2a.swf
flash_words-3a.swf
flash_words-4a.swf
Can anyone tell me how to fix it so that IE9 displays all four of them?
The URL is http://www.manhattes.com/home.htmlOn 1 and 4a you are using the gobbledegook of
AC_FL_RunContent
for Flash detection.
while 2 and 3 do not.
AC_FL_RunContent is a pretty old embed method so either apply that method to 2 and 3 or switch all 4 to swfobject:
http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/
or simply embed using a single <object> and no IE conditional statements (<!--[if !IE]>-->):
<object data="path_to_file/file.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="insert_width_of_movie" height="insert_height_of_movie">
<param name="movie" value="path_to_file/file.swf">
<param name="SomeOtherParam" value="ParamValue">
</object>

# formsweb.cfg defines parameter values used by the FormsServlet (frmservlet)
# This section defines the Default settings. Any of them may be overridden in the
# following Named Configuration sections. If they are not overridden, then the
# values here will be used.
# The default settings comprise two types of parameters: System parameters,
# which cannot be overridden in the URL, and User Parameters, which can.
# Parameters which are not marked as System parameters are User parameters.
# SYSTEM PARAMETERS
# These have fixed names and give information required by the Forms
# Servlet in order to function. They cannot be specified in the URL query
# string. But they can be overridden in a named configuration (see below).
# Some parameters specify file names: if the full path is not given,
# they are assumed to be in the same directory as this file. If a path
# is given, then it should be a physical path, not a URL.
# USER PARAMETERS
# These match variables (e.g. %form%) in the baseHTML file. Their values
# may be overridden by specifying them in the URL query string
# (e.g. "http://myhost.mydomain.com/forms/frmservlet?form=myform&width=700")

[Solved] nm-applet does not display in normal user's panel
I installed Arch Linux yesterday. Today, I am trying to get some of the refinements working. I installed OpenBox as a standalone window manager. I got several things working exactly the way I wanted as root, such as networkmanager, nm-applet, and pypanel. When I startx as root, the nm-applet is properly displayed in the pypanel.
Then I discovered that I could not run an X application as the normal user without first running "xhost +" as root. At this point, it dawned on me that I am not supposed to run startx as root, but as the normal user. Duh!
So, I thought I set up everything the same way for the normal user. When I startx as the normal user, OpenBox runs, nm-applet runs, and pypanel runs, but pypanel does not display the nm-applet icon. I can now run my X application as the normal user, so that is good.
My .config/openbox/autostart file is exactly the same for root and my normal user:
(sleep 3 && pypanel) &
(sleep 3 && /usr/bin/nm-applet --sm-disable) &
nm-applet was started by this code, because ps -ef shows it running and owned by the normal user:
[tim@(none) ~]$ ps -ef|grep nm-applet
tim 2311 2306 0 15:27 tty1 00:00:00 /usr/bin/nm-applet --sm-disable
tim 2332 2327 0 15:27 pts/0 00:00:00 grep nm-applet
[tim@(none) ~]$ ps -ef|grep networkmanager
root 497 476 0 14:14 ? 00:00:00 /sbin/dhcpcd -B -K -L -G -c /usr/lib/networkmanager/nm-dhcp-client.action eth0
root 869 476 0 14:30 ? 00:00:00 /sbin/dhcpcd -B -K -L -G -c /usr/lib/networkmanager/nm-dhcp-client.action ra0
tim 2345 2327 0 15:27 pts/0 00:00:00 grep networkmanager
Why does pypanel display the nm-applet icon for root but not for the normal user?

[SOLVED] - tint2 systray only displays running program
Yep, just as the title says.
I've set tint2's systray = 1, but it only displays running programs like vlc or transmission. But no system applets
Is there any way to display system tray applets (like volume, internet, etc) on tint2 panels, hopefully, without using external program (like trayer)? I'm using openbox / tint2 combo.
Last edited by chrlin (2011-12-20 09:22:16)Can you post your tint2rc? In there should be a Panel section make sure S (I think it's is S should be in there somewhere) Some option = T S C. That's where u define the order. Taskbar, Systry, Clock ...

Ah hah, found it. What your looking for is panel_items. -
When I leave Firefox open in the background while playing Dungeons and Dragons Online, when I close DDO and open Firefox again, it only displays half a page and the bottom browser bar is less than half way down the screen. The rest is just blank space like the browser was shrunk and then enlarged again, but the display window in the browser didn't readjust again. I have to close FF and reopen again to fix it. It used to be that the empty space was white. A recent update now causes that space to be RED when it occurs. Not sure if that helps any. I don't have any other games right now, so I haven't tested this with other games, but this ONLY happens to FF!

Every time Firefox opened
== Months agoAnother user posted a screenshot of something like that earlier this afternoon, and I'm not sure what is causing that to happen. I suspect if may be caused by an extension that was recently updated, but no ideas about which one it may be. I just got back to my computer after be gone for the last five hours, so I don't if there has been any additional information in the other thread or not. This is about all I can figure to do right now until we have more information related to this new issue.
Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?

MENU item selection does not display drop down in ITS enabled transaction
Hello,
We are experiencing a strange behavior between two portal env.
1. DEV.
For example we have transaction MM01 display in the Portal via ITS (integrated). The end user can select the Menu Tab and the System Tab and the drop downs appear as expected.
2. Prod
Same scenario as above. Only this time, end user is unable to select the button. The Menu and System Tab dont appear greyed out but selecting it does not display the drop down.
Material, Edit GoTo Defaults are some of the links under the Menu tab for MM01.
Very confusing. And this is the behavior in Prod for all transactions. Any ideas on why this is happening would be greatly appreciated.
The architectural difference is that DEV has no Web Dispatcher versus Prod has the Web Dispatcher.
We are on EP 7.0
Many thanks.
Regards,
SunilThanks. Now, I realise this may cause dismay to some, but I have now solved the problem, and just wanted to share my experience with those even less savvy than myself. In Dreamweaver, the Spry css styles are arranged with little or no hint as to which style controls what. I found that there is a rule in the sub-menu styles that controls the little graphic arrows which indicate that there are dropdown subs under the tabs. I had removed these arrows to make way for my background images. However, the rules that control their positioning by percentage were still there, causing my images to display incorrectly. Of course, there was no way anyone could have spotted this and helped me as the fault was in the external spry css file, not the page code. So many thanks to vw2ureg for looking anyway. Regarding the page code, which you have flagged up, would you mind elaborating on what you see wrong here? I'm none the wiser. Many thanks again.
