[Solved] lib32-libcurl-gnutls

lib32-libcurl-gnutls is a library which is required to run Witcher 2: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Witcher2 but unfortunately doesn't exist in the AUR. I found an old and somewhat hackish PKGBUILD: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 49#p495649 Unfortunately I have zero experience with lib32 packages, so I cannot take care of it myself. Would be nice if somebody could upload a PKGBUILD for it or at least point me to some lib32 specific PKGBUILD manual.
Thanks,
PhotonX

  • [SOLVED] lib32-glibc conflicting files

    Hi,
    After the qt upgrade i had to remove Skype and when i wanted to install it again i had to uncomment the [multilib] line from /etc/pacman.conf (for my x64 system).
    When i uncommented it, i run -Syu command i this occured. I am not sure do i have to remove all those files or i have to do something else?
    Any kind of help would be appreciated (i tried to search similar problems on forum but i couldn't find it).

    Well, few days ago i noticed that i didn't uncomment multilib line from /etc/pacman.conf file. After i uncommented it and ran "sudo pacman -Syu" that happened.
    I had some problems with updating arch and glibc (not lib32-glibc) few months ago (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=154391) but i solved it. Maybe that is somehow related to my actual problem. I really don't know.
    So i can type that command without fear for my system? Nice .

  • [SOLVED] lib32-libgpg-error and lib32-libgcrypt no longer working

    The Dell 1320c printer requires a workaround of using it with a FujiXerox DocuPrint C525a driver, which only exists for 32bit systems.  In order to get it running, you need to manually copy the files to the proper locations.  With the new upgrade on both of those packages (lib32-libgpg-error and lib32-libgcrypt) the filter file /usr/lib/cups/filters/FXM_PF no longer runs, and complains about "wrong ELFCLASS64", which I take it to mean it's not recognizing/finding the lib32 packages.  I've since downgraded and added the packages to the IgnorePkg array in pacman.conf, but I wanted to point it out to anyone who may have the same issue, or in case it was an error with the generation of the packages.  Or is there simply a dependency that hasn't yet been updated?
    *EDIT* Thanks to Wonder for fixing it (or letting us know it was fixed)!

    Kirurgs wrote:Exactly the same error with Lotus Notes. Dowgrading package solves the problem.
    New packages are couple of bytes in size, which is waaaay smaller than previous versions.
    Smart thinking, I didn't think to check the size of the packages.  Same thing here, lib32-libgcrypt is 4Kb vs 240Kb (working package), and lib32-libgpg-error is 4Kb vs 8Kb (working package).  For the lib32-libgpg-error it might be due to the new compression format, but I doubt that.  I doubt very much that .xz compression can result in a change of 1/60th the original size for lib32-libgcrypt.

  • [SOLVED] lib32-sane makepkg failed

    I am trying to install "lib32-sane" from AUR, I got this weird error:
    usr/lib/sane/: Failed to set file flags

    Here is my snapshot:

    Any suggestion ?
    [SOLVED] :
    Because I am using /tmp/lib32-sane as build directory..

    Can you please provide more details? How exactly did you change the build directory, and to what did you change it to? Also, how can I do the same from within packer, as I'm trying to install lib32-sane from the AUR and it gives the exact same error you got.
    Thanks!

  • [SOLVED] lib32-printproto on AUR

    Hi,
    I'm trying to install lib32-libxp from AUR, and I can't because its depency (lib32-printproto) gives me an error:

    Had problems with this package. I made a new PKGBUILD:

    Adopted and updated. New PKGBUILD based on Synthead's, from previous comment.

    PKGBUILD is broken, pkgrel32 should be 3, not 2
    Comment by: bchurchill on Thu, 24 Dec 2009 05:24:43 +0000
    lib32-printproto should be listed as a dependency.
    Everything else works! The PKGBUILD was updated to include Kray's comment that pkgre132 needed to be changed.

    Thanks, that worked. I had to change the md5sum too, though.

  • [solved] lib32-mesa-libgl and catalyst-total are in conflict

    Steam now depends on lib32-mesa-libgl which is in conflict with catalyst-total.
    lib32-mesa-libgl and catalyst-total are in conflict (lib32-libgl)
    I'm not sure where to go from here.
    EDIT:
    catalyst-total was updated 5 minutes after I made this post. The issue has been resolved.

  • Witcher 2 gog problem with missing dependancies

    Hi.
    I would like to ask for your help. I want to check Witcher 2 for linux from gog.com. I downloaded it, but when i want to launch it by ./start.sh from Witcher 2 folder, i have this error;

    I have installed 32 bit dependancies for it:

    Ok, solved. I just copied all .so files from steam folder:
    ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/lib/i386-linux-gnu
    ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib
    ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/amd64/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
    ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/amd64/usr/lib
    many of missing dependancies are also in /usr/lib and /usr/lib32. I had to copy these symlinks:
    libasn1.so.8
    libasn1.so.8.0.0
    libcrypto.so.1.0.0
    libcurl-gnutls.so.4.2.0
    libcurl.so.3
    libcurl.so.4
    libcurl.so.4.2.0
    libcurl.so.4.3.0
    libgcrypt.so.11
    libgcrypt.so.11.7.0
    libgnutls.so.26
    libgnutls.so.26.21.8
    libgssapi.so.3
    libgssapi.so.3.0.0
    libhcrypto.so.4
    libhcrypto.so.4.1.0
    libheimbase.so.1
    libheimbase.so.1.0.0
    libheimntlm.so.0
    libheimntlm.so.0.1.0
    libhx509.so.5
    libhx509.so.5.0.0
    libkrb5.so.26
    libkrb5.so.26.0.0
    liblber-2.4.so.2
    liblber-2.4.so.2.10.3
    liblber-2.4.so.2.8.1
    libldap-2.4.so.2
    libldap_r-2.4.so.2
    libldap_r-2.4.so.2.10.3
    libldap_r-2.4.so.2.8.1
    libopenal-eon.so.1
    libroken.so.18
    libroken.so.18.1.0
    librtmp.so.0
    libsasl2.so.2
    libsasl2.so.2.0.25
    libssl.so.1.0.0
    libtasn1.so.3
    libtasn1.so.3.1.12
    libwind.so.0
    libwind.so.0.0.0
    No my Witcher 2 works ok. I'm amazed that it runs just like the one running on Windows. Nice.
    There is only one thing that i would like to know. These .so files are shared object. Could somebody tell me how to instead of copying it over to Witcher 2 folder, make an symlink from these symlinks that are stroed in ~/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/lib/i386-linux-gnu and so on? As a matter of fact, there are files with :
    -libgcrypt.so.11
    -libgcrypt.so.11.7.0
    One file is with "arrow", other don't have it. If i understand, in these example, libgcrypt.so.11 points to libgcrypt.so.11.7.0? If yes, how to symlink this to a Witcher 2 folder from this long Steam folder? I know that for this is ln -s command, but could somebody explain it to me? Witcher 2 works because i just copied these symlinks, i would like to learn how to do it instead of copying them.
    Thanks.
    BTW - for one thing im happy, that the Witcher 2 comes for Linux (i read that it is not native port, but rather something just as Wine, i tried to install it directly under Wine from Windows .exe installers but it fails), but the other...well, so many missing dependancies? I  think that the file that we can download from gog shoud have al dependancies for it!

  • Use older git commit in pkgbuild

    Hello,
    I am trying to build wine version 1.18 and I am using the pkgbuild from the aur wine-git https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/wine-git/.

    This wiki page  explains that you should put #fragment at the end of source, and to consult man PKGBUILD for more on fragments. That's left to you.

  • Network printer doesn't work any more...

    I have a network printer at work (xerox workcentre 7232) , it is on 30.30.30.0 subnet and I am on 172 subnet in my company (and I can't change that).  172 is routed to the the 30 network and I can ping the ip address of the printer.  The last time I printed something was at least a month ago or more and I had it setup and it worked just fine with the setup utility in cups (localhost:631).  Today I go to print something and gnome 3 tells me it's not connected.  I remove it and try to add it again with the same ppd and it just keeps telling me it's not connected.  Is there a bug with the newest cups?  This printer still works in a windows vm.

    Hi !
    Looking at the patch included upstream (http://www.cups.org/str.php?L3875), it seems like a SNMP issue regarding supplies levels.
    As a temporary workaround, you can disable SNMP supplies levels get in your printer PPD file in /etc/cups/ppd/ adding the directive:

  • [svn] 3882: Target Flash player 10 for the team application.

    Revision: 3882
    Author: [email protected]
    Date: 2008-10-24 13:16:42 -0700 (Fri, 24 Oct 2008)
    Log Message:
    Target Flash player 10 for the team application.
    QA: No
    Doc:No
    Check-in tests: pass
    Modified Paths:
    blazeds/trunk/apps/team/WEB-INF/flex/flex-config.xml

    By "running fine", flashplayer 10.1 32-bit linux library may require some "massaging" to actually get it working.
    E.G. on Debian Lenny 64-bit using 32-bit firefox 3.6.8 it requires at least these Lenny 32-bit emulation packages:
        ia32-libs
        ia32-libs-gtk
    (this has been pretty well established for a while)
    *Plus* you'lll have to grab the following libraries from a 32-bit Lenny system:
    :/usr/local/firefox-3.6.8_i386$ ls -l *curl* *idn*
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     19 2010-06-24 14:57 libcurl-gnutls.so.3 -> libcurl-gnutls.so.4
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     23 2010-06-24 14:57 libcurl-gnutls.so.4 -> libcurl-gnutls.so.4.1.0
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 233992 2009-08-17 19:41 libcurl-gnutls.so.4.1.0
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     12 2010-06-07 10:22 libcurl.so.3 -> libcurl.so.4
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     16 2010-06-07 10:22 libcurl.so.4 -> libcurl.so.4.1.0
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 271524 2010-03-26 23:27 libcurl.so.4.1.0
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root    801 2008-06-06 21:29 libidn.la
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     17 2010-02-26 07:01 libidn.so.11 -> libidn.so.11.5.37
    -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 200280 2008-06-06 21:29 libidn.so.11.5.37
    and plop them in the top level firefox install directory to get it working.  Otherwise you only see messages like
        "Adobe Flash Player error: could not load cURL library"
    (Not terribly helpful)
    This is in contrast to the 10.0 beta 64-bit flashplayer lib that worked fabulously (i had no issues with it ever, which can't be said of the 32-bit one).
    I wonder just how difficult it would have been to fix it for the latest exploits, as they'd done for the 10.x beta 64-bit linux flashplayer previously for security issues?
    This failure by the industry to fully support 64-bit applications is getting pretty pathetic by this point.

  • Help with ABS

    Hi. 2 days ago, I managed to setup photoshop cs4 runing on wine, but suddenly it stopped working today when after system upgrade. I noticed that wine version changed, so I searched on wiki to find how to get previous versions. Now... I found article on ABS, so I copied wine folder from abs tree, to my home/my username/abs directory. In wine pkgbuild I found in copied directory, I modified version to 1.2.2 which is last stable as I read on winehq. When I go to abs/wine and run makepkg -s I get this:
    ==> Making package: wine 1.2.2-1 (Sat Feb 5 15:37:06 CET 2011)
    ==> Checking Runtime Dependencies...
    ==> Checking Buildtime Dependencies...
    ==> Retrieving Sources...
    -> Found wine-1.2.2.tar.bz2
    ==> Validating source files with md5sums...
    wine-1.2.2.tar.bz2 ... FAILED
    ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
    Anyway, I thought that abs is created so that I can get source from some completely unknown software, and, I don't know.., compile it and make some sort of installation script for arch, and this is same as downloading from aur and running makepkg -si. Am I getting something wrong? Because, I've allready downloaded source from winehq, so I was kind of disappointed. I expected that I'll have to put this source into abs/wine folder and then do something with it.
    Any ideas how to make this work? Here's PKGBUILD:

    EDIT: Just to make a note. I uninstalled official wine version with pacman and removed .wine from my home. And btw, I'm seeing this md5 checksums all over the web lately, so I'm guessing it's some way to check weather package is corrupted or not? If someone can explane me how can I check package with md5checksum in addition, that would be cool.
    EDIT: One more thing. It says in wiki "now you just need to build that from source..." does that mean I have tounpack tar I just got from running makepkg -s and run install script?

    You didn't want to use the ABS, you wanted to downgrade the Wine package.  I expect you may still downgrade without too much trouble.
    You should use this wiki article as your guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Do … g_Packages

    An md5sum is an integrity check to ensure that copies of a file match the original file.  You can easily Google for linux howtos.
    An ABS pkgbuild contains md5sums for the files in the current Arch version of the software.  The md5sums should not match previous versions of the software.  The files are not the same.
    If you have problems downgrading Wine, others will help, I'm sure.
    Thank you, you're awesome. I'm using linux for about 3.5 weeks now, and I never would have thought that there would be something like A.R.M. Now I can test those wine versions to see with which photoshop work best. Linux is awesome! XD (had to say that, but can't say arch explicitly, cos I haven't tried other versions )

  • 64-Bit Linux Flash Player

    There used to be a 64-bit pre-release version for Firefox on Linux. I went to the prerelease site, and there was no download link. There was a reference to the forum, but the forum was marked closed. This doesn't sound like committment to me? Is there a timeline for the 64-bit version, running two browsers is useless because of the combined plugins hierarchy in use. It's really the only thing holding up my using lots of sites (i.e. Safari Books Online) because of the site crashing my browser. Currently I use the 32-bit plugin through a wrapper for a 64-bit browser.

  • [SOLVED] Makepkg was unable to build lib32-portaudio.

    Okay so i dusted off my old PS2 the other day and decided i wanted to play some old games for nostalgic sake when i came to realize it is still broken. So i looked for a decent emulator and found PCSX2. Now, i had some missing dependencies that needed to be installed and i worked on it for a few hours and got every dependency to install except lib32-portaudio. And don't get me wrong, Iv'e looked both at the PCSX2 website and the Arch wiki and forums and iv'e googled and looked at Ubuntu forums and whatnot. I looked everywhere i could think of, and i can't find anything at all on this issue so i'm hoping someone will be able to help me here. I guess the relevant part of the error message that i get is this:
    /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/4.5.2/../../../libjack.so when searching for -ljack
    /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/libjack.so when searching for -ljack
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ljack
    collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
    make: *** [lib/libportaudio.la] Error 1
        Aborting...
    ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build lib32-portaudio.
    And Iv'e re-installed portaudio at least 3 times since i figured the error had something to do with it. Through pacman, downloading the package from the dev website, and even trying the Ubuntu repos and it seems to be successfully installed each time. I'm fairly new to Linux but i'm a very persistent person and i wouldn't give up without at least a days worth of pulling out my hair in frustration, and through trial and error, so as far as my knowledge reaches, iv'e tried my best to solve it on my own. Oh, and i'm building/installing from the AUR if that would make a difference. Appreciate any help.
    edit
    Been a long time, with no help, but i finally gave it another go. This time successfull! I just recently re-installed Arch, this time running openbox, and without any issues whatsoever, it installed on the first try. I think i had a shitload of conflicting and missing dependencies on my last install and that's what caused it.. I don't know if this will help anyone if you ever run in to this problem, there isn't much to add, Only thing is that I'm running a clean install and i use the nvidia driver and nvidia-utils, and all the ALSA sound drivers and utilities. Oh and i'm running openbox as a stand-alone WM. That's all the relevant info i think. Now i'm looking forward to configuration hell for the games i'm gonna run, haha!

    ChoK wrote:It seems like you need lib32-jack and the maintainer of lib32-portaudio forgot to add it to makedepends/depends
    Iv'e got lib32-jack already installed. And by reading the comments of the AUR link to the package ( lib32-portaudio ) they supposedly fixed the PKGBUILD too.

  • [Solved]Curl and Libcurl doesn't honor http(s)_proxy

    Like the title says I have the problem that curl and libcurl doesn't honor http(s)_proxy if used with pacman, I tried to add http(s):// to my proxy but no change.
    Has anyone an idea?
    EDIT: solved I had to use  sudo -E as my proxy isn't set through /etc/profile (proxy is not static).

    Yes I added http_proxy and others to it after I found it in the web after I wrote this thread.

  • [SOLVED] Compilation error for lib32 Soundtouch

    Hi all!
    I'm trying to create a lib32 package for SoundTouch from source. I based the PKGBUILD in the current avaialble in extra repository (found it in here). I'm trying to compile it, but I don't have much experience with compilation and therefore I having a hard time here.
    Please take a look in files in the links below:

    soundtouch-1.4.0-mmx-sse-compile-fix.patch http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/ … -fix.patch
    Output for "LC_ALL=C makepkg -sL" http://pastebin.com/1X8UCyaK
    src/soundtouch/config.log http://pastebin.com/AEWMXAF9
    What is wrong and how can I fix this error?
    Thanks in advance!

    Ahh, forget it. I added a lazy option "--with-pic" to the command "./configure" and that's all. It works. Next time, I'll sleep, wake up, take a breath and then try to compile again.
    Case solved, package available in AUR http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=45562
    Cheers.
