[SOLVED] Libreoffice Impress - Horizontal Scroll Broken

So Libreoffice Impress on my setup, even before the big upgrade to 3.4.2, has had this issue where the slide viewer portion of the window actually overlaps the horizontal scroll bar and buttons, which makes them unusable. I don't know if this is an issue with my DE or if it's an upstream problem, but it's ugly and frustrating when trying to work on something big like a poster. Right now, the issue shows up with KDE 4.7, I can't remember if I tried this with GNOME 3.

I had this too and solved it (search on this forum after reading this).
It Is caused by native libreoffice.org QT4 integration, which is flaky.
Install and use the gnome integration package libreoffice-gnome.
Not sure if you also need libreoffice-kde4 (for the kde4 file dialogs)
I just installed both of these packages.
And add this line to your /usr/bin/soffice
export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome soffice
This forces libreoffice to always use above settings.
But the file /usr/bin/soffice will be written over when you update the packages.
So perhaps it is better to add the export to your bashrc or something.

PS In kde 4.7 there is a much improved kde4 compatibility mode for gtk apps under kde4.
This will give you visually better results than the native soffice QT4 integration anyhow.
PPS How is kde4.7 working anyway? I am hesitant to "upgrade" from a .5 point release to a .0 point release.
Is it stable?

[solved] LibreOffice Impress with MP3

Hello,
I have installed libreoffice 3.4.5 and want to make a presentation with MP3-Sounds. Formerly I have installed the jre's from AUR. If I will start jmfinit is the answer so, that he can't find the Hauptklasse JMFInit.
In LibreOffice not hear the MP3-files. If I do the same Presentation with wav-files it works properly.
The Java-Version is 1.7.0_147-icedtea.
Can anybody help me?

The package libreoffice-common has some optional dependencies. Check them out! Among them there's
gstreamer0.10-base: + some gstr-plugins to support multimedia content, e.g. in impress
That means, libreoffice uses gstreamer for multimedia stuff. I'd recommend to install the whole gstreamer0.10-plugins group with pacman -S gstreamer0.10-plugins.

Horizontal scroll on MX1000 sends click event as well. [SOLVED]

As in the topic, I'm having problems with the horizontal scroll sending regular click events to apps as well as the scrolling, making the function pretty unusable. All my other keys work exactly as they should.
As for my configuration, I'm running evdev, and I have "pointer = 1 2 3 4 5 7 6 8 9 10 11 12" in xmodmap.
Ive tried changing the input with both imwheel and xbindkeys, but none of them would intercept the horizontal scroll. (Strange though, since it works fine with the other buttons)
I don't know what else I can do. Is it just a lost cause?
P.S: I know it's not app dependent, because I have tried it with every application I have.

I prefer evdev because I can't seem to get the thumb buttons to work without it.

Seems pretty obvious what the problem is. It sends button 13/14 as input first, the continues with 6/7 which is the scroll. So what do I do to fix that?

[SOLVED] horizontal scrolling openbox

Hi, I would like to use horizontal scroll to change desktop, I enabled it in 50-synaptics and I know how to change rc.conf to add hotkeys to openbox, but I can't find what to type for horizontal scrolling in keybind.
i.e. :

@2manydogs, you're right it's .xml, I made a typo and yes it's in the mousebind section, I just wanted to explain what line I had wrong and copy-pasted the wrong thing, thx.

Also before I changed it to Left and Right, I couldn't scroll up/down to change desktop, I don't remember if I changed it one day because it was very annoying but it wasn't doing it anymore. I would like this mousebind to be global too if it's possible.

is it possible to have horizontal scroll bar in webtable , not like the webtable propery for each column.

Hi Shan,
The problem is not clear, but if you are talking about a table web item within Web Application Designer then there is a property for the number of columns to be displayed per page. Just set that property to an appropriate number. Remember while setting the property that it applies only to key figures and not characteristics. So if you set it to say 5 - it will display the horizontal scroll option if you have more than 5 key figures in your table.
If you do not want the SAP default scroll bar then set this property to a sufficiently high number so that the table is not broken up - in this case you will get the default internet explorer based scroll bar since the table will not fit in a single screen.

But I need only Page top and Page down for this Table UI .

Horizontal Scroll Box in Adobe Edge

Hello!
I am very new to html and css coding. I've been teaching myself adobe edge animate to build a website from scratch since it is very similar to After Effects, a program i am comfortable with.
I was wondering how would i go about making a horizontal scroll container that would house image files.

I just did everything you said, i took all my pictures and made them a symbol followed by changing the overflow size and setting it to auto.
The only problem im getting now is it wont switch to the custom scroll bar. Does it specifically only work with Text? Like i said before, i have no knowledge of html or css, i just barely understand the concepts and where to drop in my div tags, etc.

Horizontal Scroll Problem in Rendering in After Effects

I am having a 30 minute video in which i need to ADD a horizontal scroll till video end, I made a JPG file of 6000px width and 40px height. Place it in a comp with horizontal scroll effect with -70 speed and adding this code in tile centre expression.

Now when i check it in Ram preview it works fine but when i render it via AME then it stopped somehwere like
8.20 minute - 13 minute
19.52 minute - 22 minutes
between this time scroll doesn't work. Please help me how to solve this problem, It's really urgent for me I need to complete a project.

I'm not sure what is going on but a better workflow may be to create the scroll as a separate AE comp by pre-composing it, then render and replace in your comp or add the scroll in Premiere Pro and render your deliverable from there.
It looks like you want the scroll to repeat. The repeat may be where the problem lies. Another approach would be to have your scroll move once, trim the layer to the end of the scroll, Pre-compose trimming the pre-comp to the length of the layer, and then either loop the pre-comp in your main comp using time-remapping and loopOut("cycle") in time remapping, or render and replace the pre-comp and loop the footage indefinitely in Footage Interpretation.
I tend to to simple title scrolls on Premiere Pro because it's so easy if it's just text and it renders a lot faster than from AE.

ALV freeze Columns in Horizontal Scroll

Hi All,
I am using ALV object cl_gui_alv_grid-> set_table_for_first_display and want to freeze the first three columns when doing horizontal scroll.
I am passing it_fieldcatalog-fix_column = 'X' for the first three column fields but these columns are not being freozen when I do Horizontal Scroll.
Kindly let me know what else I need to pass or any alternative way to achieve this in ALV.

Vijoy,
Making the FIX_COLUMN to X should have solved your problem. As a work around, make those columns as KEY columns in the fieldcatalog and see if it works that way.
I hope you don't have any other column in front of these columns which is NOT fixed. If yes, that it will not work.

I have datagrid with horizontal scroll policy enabled. Grid
contains some item renderer also.One of the item renderer is
datefield when i select a date from the datefield and say the
adjacent cell of the grid also contain datefield itemrenderer
and i am selecting date from that itemrenderer also.When i
scroll horizontally the date in the itemrender changes to any one
of the two itemrenderer.Some time it works fine.I am getting the
issue for combobox itemrender also.Can any one help me to solve
this issue.

Annoying Finder Horizontal Scroll Bar

I have an annoying Finder issue with Mountain Lion OS X 10.8 and maybe someone knows how to fix. When I have a folder displayed, like the Applicaitons folder, with View opton set to "as List" the Finder displays a long horizontal scroll bar at the bottom that is active. How can I lock or anchor the horziontal scroll bar to the left side. It really gets to be annoying as you mouse scroll up and down the list. I have the same issue in with Excel and Numbers. If it cannot be locked to the left, can it be disabled or deleted?

I just made each item listed the min width and this let me resize the window to ditch the horziontal scroll bar. This helped but did not solve the issue on how to lock it to the left or turn it OFF.

I have a problem of Ipad mini
A few user has the same prolem like me T.T when I checked other users is using Ipad mini or related Ipad series on web.
and I could not find solution for it,
The probelm is : the horizontal scroll bar position is changed as below image, the scroll bar appears in the middle on web page of Safari
after zoom the page out and moving.
How to fix this problem ?
I already did it with a few way to fix and it never fix in my side.
- Resotre factory mode : still happened.
- Turn off and on Ipad mini : still happened.
- Clear Cooke and data in safari setup.
If Clear cooke and data, it just disappeared on web surfing but this is only temporary way, I could meet the problem soon on web surfing.
Please help me to fix and share some information for it.

I am having the same issue. Went to the Apple Store in Boston and the Genius Bar escalated the problem to the Engineers and they could not even solve it. They needed me to send them an image of the issue. I went to another Apple store and the Genius there had much better problem solving skills. He used his own critical thinking and discovered that the horizontal scroll bar sits at the same height. The height is exactly where the split keyboard ends. If you take screen shots and compare...you will find they are all at the same height. He thinks since the keyboard is a new feature they havent worked out the problems yet...and we will have to wait for the update.
Ever since Steve Jobs has been gone the call to response for issues is getting increasing slower and slower. New products continue to roll out but they all have problems and bugs. Take Maps for instance...they still have not fixed all the issues (even with this 6.0.1 update). The Ipad mini I spend 700$ for and it is such a faulty product. For what I spent I would have thought I would have gotten a great product. I have all Apple products...phone, desktop, laptop, Ipad original, and Mini...but they have done me wrong over and over. It may take months for them to roll out the fix the way the compnay has been operating under Cook.
When will the fix come....I do not know... best of luck!

Registering The iPhone 3G HELP! Horizontal Scroll Bar!

iTunes tells me that i have to regiser my iPhone3G, so i do and i get to the iPhone Software License Agreement.. i scroll to the bottom and it only gives me three things to click. a box (The Box that states "I have read and agree..."), another box that says Cancel, and another that says Save. Obviously, a button is missing, and it is on the far right, but iTunes somehow, does not stretch that far!!! it doesn't make sense, but it doesn't have a horizontal Scroll Bar (THE BAR THAT MOVES THE SCREEN LEFT TO RIGHT). please help. i've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 7.7 twice already. and there's still no horizontal scroll bar!

No Horizontal Scroll Bar in Zoomed Preview pdf

When I zoom into a pdf in Preview, I don't get a horizontal scroll bar so can't move around to offscreen parts of the document. Anyone else experiencing this or know a solution?

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
