[SOLVED] Long comand line input

Hello. I have problem with my gnome-terminal. When the command line is too long, it rolls to the same row instead of the next one.
Here you can see it if my explanation isn't clear enough:
I don't remember since when I have this problem, but I have modified my .bashrc file some time ago. Maybe this is the reason. Its content:

Bash: wrapping long command line [SOLVED]

I'm trying to configure my bash to wrap long command lines. I am looking for a behaviour similar to tcsh where, at the border of the window, the command is continued on the next line. In bash, the command continues at the begining of the same lines wich is messy. I tried using
set horizontal-scroll-mode on
in my ~/.inputrc but the continuation doesn't start at the windows border. I can post screenshots if that would help.

putting the line in .bashrc have no effect.

Installed Camtasia which wanted Soundflower and now line-input doesn't work

I installed the Camtasia demo which asked to install Soundflower to get the audio recording working, then I went to skype and my mic/headset (attached to the line-input) no longer worked. I've tried attaching different headsets to the same input, visiting System Preferences / Sound and tapping the mic, but nothing seems to fix it, and I haven't installed anything else, so it has to be Soundflower doing something to affect the line-input.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is there any easy fix?

1DC- Sound Recording via Line input woes

Have the latest firmware update on my 1DC. There are 3 issues I am hoping someone can help with
#1 I assume you must set Sound recording to 'Line input' and NOT manual, but if I set the Rec level, whenever the camera is powered off, either automatically or manually, this Rec level is ALWAYS reset to zero. Also, the moment recording is startted, even though audio input levels are set correctly, no audio is recorded. This seems like a firmware bug to me. This does NOT happen when set to manual. Anyone know of a workaround?
When using Manual and plugging in an external audio source I assume this signal will override the audio from the camera's internal mic.
If this is correct and there are no issues when using 'Manual', then what is the difference between 'Manual' and "Line input'??
#2 When setting Sound input to Manual, the VU meters are visible, but NOT when set to Line input. Why?
#3 Can anyone recommend a specific connector to go from line out on a Zoom H6 to Mic in on the 1DC?

No. Apparently a buggy firmware release. My understanding is that there is another release planned soon. Hopefully with several new (and working) features in addition to the line input.
Using Manual with a -25dB cable for now.

Audigy 2 ZS: Keeping line input from playing on speak

I recently installed an Audigy 2 ZS in a Win2k machine. In the mixer, I've selected "Analog mix" for recording. So "What-U-Hear" should be off, right? And I have disabled "Monitor during recording." So, while recording, I don't hear what is coming in the line input. But if I turn recording off, suddenly what's coming into Line-In blasts out the speakers. Is there a way to permanently disable passing Line-Input to the speakers when I'm not recording or even running a recording program?

The mixer device list for the Audigy 2 ZS shows a separate Line-in for record and play. So it appears that the ability to keep Line-In from playing on speakers is there. However, unfortunately the Creative Mixer implements this as a record option and an option to "Do not monitor while recording." With this option checked, Line-In isn't passed through to the speakers but only during recording. At other times you'll hear what is coming into the Line-in. By comparison, the Audigy 2 LS has an option to "Do not monitor," which blocks Line-in pass-through under all conditions (unless an api enables it). The Line-In pass-through was a particular problem for me for a C++ program I've written. So I solved the problem by selecting "Do not monitor while recording," muting the global volume, and un-muting the global volume with a call to the mixer functions when I turn on recording from within my program. This prevents pass-through even when my program isn't running, which was important for my particular application. Unfortunately, this isn't a viable option for someone using an off-the-shelf recorder-player. Other mixers might implement this differently.

Microphone input to front or rear panel jacks works and appears in Realtek Audio Manager display and in Windows Sound Recorder.
Line input to rear jack (no Line front jack) does not appear in Realtek display nor in Sound Recorder, but Realtek senses a connection being made to the Line input as it is highlighted in the ANALOG section of the display, and a flag message also appears in Windows indicating that a device has been plugged in.
Also, AUDACITY program detects neither microphone nor line input device.

Did you try the latest HD audio driver directly from the RealTek website? That has solved various issues.
If you haven't here it is. Accept the agreement, download and install the first driver on the list.

[Solved]Prompt - comand lenght

In these days i played with the .bashrc file to change the prompt in terminals.
Now when i type a long comand, after some character, it doesn't continue in a new line but start again in the same line overwriting the prompt.
How can i fix this ?

Make sure you put \[ and \] around strings of formatting characters in PS1 so bash knows they don't count towards how long the prompt actually is on the screen.
Also, you should turn on the "checkwinsize" option or bash won't notice when you resize the window it's in (setopt -s checkwinsize).
I still see this problem some of the time, but it got much better once I fixed those two things.

ProBook 4530s mic input switched to line input

Hello- Have a ProBook 4530s that needs microphone input reconfigured as a line input. There is no visual information provided when a 3.5 mm cable is attached to mic input/line out, as a friends Dell 1555 provides. Please assist. Also, is the there a way to update this with a GUI ?

Calling C from Java. C takes in a command line input

Hello,
I have created some basic JNI programs, in which the java file calls the C files. The way I could do it was directly calling the functions in the C files, which I needed. Now I am trying to call a C file from Java, and the C files takes in a command line argument after being compiled.
Also after compiling the C file, it produces an exe. I cannot change the C file and also want to call it from Java using JNI (as I want to later put all this into a jar and jnlp file and put it on webstart).
If anyone can help me on how to call the compiled C file and how to send in the input as a command line argument I would greatly appreciate it.

Now I know how to create a C wrapper file and a Java file in JNI format. Does this mean you want to run the exe files by calling the main() method through JNI. Yes you can do that BUT you will need to turn your exe file into a dll and then write a JNI wrapper to act as a bridge between the Java and the dll.Yes. Thats exactly what I want to do. I want to call the C files through JNI. But what I am asking is, how do I send in the input which is originally sent in as stdin? And also what are the steps to follow if I want to call a main method of the C files in the JNI.
Up till now I have been using JNI to call functions from the initial C files from the C wrapper file. But now I want to call the .exe file by sending it a command line input. Or if you can suggest a better method that would be great.
You can execute an exe file using ProcessBuilder then there is no need for a JNI wrapper. You must read the 4 sections of [http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html|http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html] and implement ALL the recommendations. Failure to do so will cause you much grief.
You could achieve the same result but using a lot more code and a hell of a lot more effort by invoking the exe executables from JNI code that invokes the 'C' exec() library. Just thinking about that approach makes my eyes water!
Well if I just use the exec() library I can do it, yes thats ture. But I wasnt sure if I did that, and then put this on Java Web Start, if non PC users can access it or not. If macs, and linux machines can access this even If i use exec, then my problem is solved.

Comand line JSDK Installation

I need to automate the installation of JSDK 1.3.1 or higher on a Win 2K box. It needs to be ran directly from the comand line with no other input necissary.

Saving Outlook eMail to a hard drive folder with long subject lines

I'm using Outlook 2010 on a WIN7 machine. I drag and drop eMails to folders on my desktop quite often and in the past (earlier version
of Outlook) I would receive a warning that the file did not copy if the subject line was too long. When I drag and drop eMails with long subject lines now there is no visual warning or indication that the operation failed. I am aware of the file name/path
character count limitation. My issue is the lack of a warning when the operation fails requiring me to have to check the length of the subject line before the operation or double check if the file is present after the operation. Checking after the operation
is quite exacerbating when you are copying 15 - 20 files at a time. Is there a patch or something that can be done about this?

Line input question

I would like to be able to use my desktop speakers to listen to a satelitte radio receiver using the Mac Pro's line input and volume controls but I can not find a way to nake this audio "pass through" from the line input to the line output.
I know that there is analog audio present at the mini plug I am feeding the line input with because I can select it as my recording source in other applications (garage band, peak, etc.). Obviously, I would prefer not to have to run one of those applications to monitor the audio.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

I try to run existing unit test in comand line:

finch - owner of procedure, which i try to test
after execution this command i receive this message:

It looks like you need to spark up SQL Developer, create a repository connection and assign that in the Unit Test Menu. It will walk you through creating the repository and then you can refer to that from the command line.

My cursor has long vertical line at times

My cursor has long vertical lines at times. When I hover over a link, the cursor doesnt' change to a hand

I don't know if this applies to LCDs, but the iMac G3 and eMac had "geometry settings" in the display preferences. If you messed up the settings, things like lines on the bottom and skewed images could happen.
I wonder if the factory geometry settings are off on your iMac? There is no way to set these with System Prefs.
