[SOLVED] Possible failure while installing a package

I was installing KDE for my definite Arch install and the monitor turned off. Nothing new, but after about 10 minutes I pressed an arror key to turn it on and a package that was downloading got possibly stoped. It looked like this:
package-x.xx 14.06 MB [#############-----------] 71%
package-x.xx 24.12 MB [##################] 100%
I'm not sure why an arrow key would stop the download (if it actually did).
Could someone tell me if it actually is a problem?
Regards,
Amarildo.

Note that your output is clearly a fabrication.  It does not have the download data, and the units for megabytes are different.
Regardless, note that I've two lines with 'libmariadbclient-5'.  Lo and behold, it did continue.  Just like your fictitious 'package-x.xx'

  • Problem while installing Setup package

    Hi all,
A week before i installed setup package on one device it worked perfectly fine.
Today i created new setup package with parameter sets( MI_CONFIG and included parameter MobileEngine.Sync.Gateway.Service=/sap/bc/MJC/mi_host
    MI.Sync.ProtocolVersion=251500
And did not added these two lines in Mobileengine.config file.
My device is looping between two screen Ie Logon screen and change password screen. Whenever i enter the username and password it enters into Change password screen and then again to logon screen.
    What can be the problem?
    Thanks and Regards
    Neha Kapoor

    Hi Neha
This is because after after you have created a setup package, a configuration tells the user to change his password on this first login to the client. If you open the MobileEngine.config file you will find an entry called <i><b>MobileEngine.Security.PasswordChangeRequired</b></i> with a value true.  Just set the value to false and restart MI.  If the parameter is not present, add the same and restart.  This should solve your problem and the change password page will never appear again.

  • RepositoryException while installing a package

    Hi,
I am facing following error message during save process while installing or uninstalling a package -
Error: javax.jcr.RepositoryException: Unable to getNode: org.apache.jackrabbit.core.state.ItemStateException: Failed to read bundle: 1a27c665-ebfc-429f-a550-e1e07baa0f86: java.lang.NullPointerException
Could someone please provide inputs on how to resolve this. I saw following thread which is also related to the same issue:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1132835
This suggests to change property for the node, but I am not able to figure out which node has problem. Any inputs related to this would be helpful.

Failed to read bundle: 1a27c665-ebfc-429f-a550-e1e07baa0f86: java.lang.NullPointerException mean there is some repository coruption and based on your solution it looks like version is corrupted. • System Failure While Installing Software: 76gb free HD space? Data Gone?

While installing software on my less than one year old mini, the installation hung and had to boot system. Upon restart, flashing icons, (folder, apple emblem, circle with slash) then just folder with ?.
I then booted from install disk, ran disk utility. Now I have one folder with nothing in it. Can not boot to start up disk (doesn't recognize).
Apple will test and fix under warranty, but, I need to know if data is recoverable. Normally I wouldn't care about the data, but my wife recently passed away and I really need to recover what I can.
I have tried DiskWarrior, but it says the drive is ok, but only shows the one folder. Data Recovery from Pro Soft (bootable demo version) doesn't appear to be
    helping much either.
    Any ideas out there?

The fact that multiple "players" are involved in this scenario makes me worry that someone has erased and reformatted the hard drive along the way.
Hopefully that didn't happen, but 76 gig free is ominous on a 80 gig drive, because so-called 80 gig drives in fact hold 76 gig -- but as you suggest, it could just be the recovery program's way of reporting the disk size.
Nonetheless, unless the disk has been "zeroed" (which takes a fair amount of time and effort) some data should be recoverable with the right techniques.
The devil is in the details, though. So please provide as much info as possible about what has happened so far. And also, what kinds of files you want to recover?

Hilary - I asked our DBA to open a SR, the number is SR 3-6553142501 : Unable to install packaged applications in Oracle Apex
Looks like apex.oracle.com has been upgraded to 4.2.1. When did this happen?
I am almost positive that I was able to install packaged apps on apex.oracle.com even when it was on 4.2.0.00.27 (same as the publicly available version) but not on my instance. But now since the versions are different, the support person is pointing to the different versions as a cause! This is what I was afraid of. To be honest, given that I was getting the error on my instance but not on apex.oracle.com, even when both systems (mine and apex.oracle.com) was on the same version of APEX, I am not very hopeful that the 4.2.1 patch will fix my situation since the root cause has not been identified. I just don't want to wait for 4.2.1 to be released, apply it and find out that the issue is still there. Can you share the list of bugs fixed in 4.2.1 to see if any of them may apply to this situation?
Any other ideas? What diagnostics can I provide to help you get to the bottom of this? Frankly, Oracle Support, as I found in the past, is not very well qualified to resolve APEX-related SRs. Can you please assist or direct Support appropriately? Thanks, appreciate your help.
Since I have the Builder app installed in my instance, I inspected the final page of the packaged app install wizard (4000:83) to see what APIs it uses and ran it manually as SYSTEM. This is what I get. Does that help narrow down the issue?

  • [SOLVED] Authentication failure while try to login in GDM

    Hi,
I just installed Arch Linux 64 bit on Virtualbox (I using GNOME and GDM). I have set on  rc.conf daemon arrays to start dbus and gdm and it run well.
My problem is I can't login using root. When I try to login, it prompt Authentication failure
    I can't re-configure my rc.conf because I can't login, and I stuck in GDM screen..
When I try to use "Ctrl+Alt+F1", it effects to my host (ubuntu), not to my guest Arch
How to skip GDM to started for this condition and how to solve this authentication failure ?
Last edited by alphazero (2011-11-20 11:51:19)

Since I run on virtualbox. I can't use Ctrl-F1, so I try to edit rc.conf using LiveCD
After I modify rc.conf and remove gdm in daemon array, I reboot and login as root.. adduser and finally it works login as user
And I add again gdm after it worked to log as user.
So problem solved.. Thanks to wonder for your help.

I should note that it was working fine before installing qemu, but I doubt that the installation of qemu is what caused this.
EDIT: I should also note that I am running Arch as the host system, not running Arch with qemu (which is what I've seen similar errors address)

  • Directory conflict while installing a package

    Hi,
I made one package with makepkg, but when I try to install it, I get error saying that one directory ( X11/lib/fonts) already exists.
I can overcome this error by specifying packman -A "f" <pkg_name>
Is ther eany other clean method ?
    Regards,
    Abhay

Showing us your pkgbuild would be nice ;-)

nevermind. I thought I had checked the pacman man, but I guess not.

  • Python Import failures while installing unqlite

I'm trying to install unqlite-python but I'm getting following error.
    File "ctypesgen/ctypesgen.py", line 38, in <module>
    import ctypesgencore
    File "/tmp/pip-build-5mqtbyod/unqlite/ctypesgen/ctypesgencore/__init__.py", line 60, in <module>
    import descriptions
    ImportError: No module named 'descriptions'
I've installed required dependancies, the 'descriptions' module happens to be the one in the exact same folder as __init__.py
I've had similar problem in my project earlier but I don't remember what fixed it.
I tried to install unqlite with pip on OS X 10.10 and Fedora 22, where it installed without any errors, the problem only persists for Arch Linux, so it seems it's more Arch related.. maybe?
I also tried if I can recreate the error in Arch Linux but import seems to work fine, Currently the problem seems to be with only this specific package.

I tried installing unqlite on both Python 2 and Python 3
    with
    sudo pip2 install unqlite
    and
    sudo pip3 install unqlite
I get the above error for both Python versions, (2.7.10 and 3.4.3)..  on Arch Linux only.

I tried to get similar error by creating similar module structure but it worked fine..
I get the error when I try to build the module manually with
    python setup.py build
as you can see, build throws error for every local module in unqlite directory.. i.e 'printer', 'parser','processor'.. followed by 'descriptions', 'options' etc.
Secondly, I maintain different virtualenviroments for my each project so installing with pip is fairly safe.
The system wide python modules are installed with pacman only.
