[Solved] ssh works not with colon(":")

Hello,
i was trying to setup sparkleshare with my server and recognized that i cannot login via ssh when giving a path to a folder like e.g. this: ssh 192.168.0.1:/home/sentenza
It works when i don't give a path adress (ssh 192.168.0.1)...
What could that be?

Did that ever work? I've never heard of ssh'ing into a specific directory, and couldn't find anything in the man page.
Are you possibly mixing up ssh and the ability of scp to copy to a specific directory?
Google'ing "ssh into directory" yields:
ssh -t 192.168.0.1 'cd /home/sentenza; bash'

Cisco 3650 tacacs+ with SSH works, not for http to use wireless GUI

Last week I installed a brand new Cisco 3650 switch and the wireless option.
Everything works fine.
I also configured tacacs+. Login through SSH works fine.
Now I want to manage the wireless part from the GUI bij entering https://ip-address/wireless
Local authentication with priv 15 works fine.
Now I configured tacacs. After entering username password I received a blank screen.
After debugging, I got a SSl failed.

Do I miss something in the ACS server?

command auth is not supported for GUI for the IOS-XE boxes.
Also can you try dong the following to check if this is a config issue.
I see that you have used TACACS as a method-list. Can you try using “default”?
To use “default”, you need to maje the following changes.
Aaa authentication login default group <server-grp>
Aaa authorization exec default group <server-grp>
On the http front, remove all the commands that you have configured below and only have this
Ip http authentication aaa
Can you paste the o/p of the folllowing commands?
sh run | sec http
sh run | sec aaa

Premiere cs4 works NOT with BMD DECKLINK EXTREME card

Since I work with SDI (DIGITAL BETACAM) I can not use PrCS4.

I know that the last Blackmagic update was a month before CS4 came out and only then did really get it working correctly with CS3.
Also keep in mind that that RED support has been on that list since October but was only released a month ago.
Maybe someone else can answer this better but with CS3 I didn't get the presets from Blackmagic until I installed the update from them, which still hasn't happened.
It's my understanding that Adobe didn't release an SDK until the 4.0.1 update. Meaning it'll be a few months for everyone to catch up.

How could I make agent auto start during my every kde 4.3.1 login? Also I want to use it with ksshaskpass. Running ssh-add in krunner used to popup ksshaskpass dialog in kubunutu. How can I make it work. Please help.

Hi, the new Adobe DC for iOS (iPad) has a big Problem. When you have a fillable Form with some Drop Down Fields it only works with the first Drop Down. Any other Drop Down will not work since you manualy restart the Adobe in the Task Manager. Please Fix that quick! It's not usable for my Company anymore!!!

[SOLVED] ssh-passphrase not recognized by ssh-agent

After an upgrade yesterday, I cannot enter my system anymore. It boots with some (rapidly passing) error messages (related to AF_UNIX) and shows me the login prompt. But fontsize isn't the one I had before, and customized keymappings of my keyboard are missing. Thus my configurations for the console have not been read.
Then I can successfully enter my login and password - but not the ssh-passphrase asked for by ssh-agent. I typed it many times, it must be correct, but is not recognized anymore. So at this point I'm stuck. I rebooted and tried fallback Arch - with the same result.
Then I chose the grub> shell during boot, and tab gave me a list of available commands. But I don't know what to do now.
So my question is:
how can I enter my system besides the ssh-passphrase problem? And if I managed to get into the system again - what might be the cause of this problem?

Ok, I tried to enter my pass-phrase as if I had an US keyboard (I have a German keyboard) and that worked. Now I can enter my system again, so I close this question. Maybe I will open another question soon, related to the root-cause of the problem (why my configuration isn't loaded on startup).

[Solved]Wireless works sometimes with networkmanager

I have posted about a similar problem before (http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=49124) and people suggested I unhide the wireless network and use a different program. I have done that however it fixed little. I have a broadcom card, and I use the ndiswrapper (which is working well). I'm trying to connect to a wpa network.
Networkmanager:
This is the only way I can get on the internet (so far). This works about 1/2 the time. When I have to establish or reestablish a connection it doesn't always work. When it doesn't work the last line of my daemon log gets stuck on
<info> Activation (wlan0) Stage 2 of 5 (Device Configure) complete.
Then I get these lines

In the task bar, when it doesn't work, I see two gray circles (like its trying to connect). When it works, the bottom circle becomes green, then the top circle becomes green.

When I try connecting, I get stuck on obtaining ip address and the log reads:

then it times out

Using this method nothing in ifconfig nor in iwconfig changes. After about a minute (presumably after a time out) I get an output of association failed.

I'm not sure what to do from here, but I think the problems these 3 programs have are linked. I think the problem lies with dhcp or/and the wpa supplication because all 3 programs time-out around there. I switch networks often, so I would prefer not to manually setup wpa_supplication config or spend a lot of time on the command line. Any help would be appreciated.
It's a driver problem, if ndiswrapper isn't working, try the b43 driver. I have been using the b43 driver for the last couple days, and I can easily connect and I stay connected.

Thanks for the tip, I'm trying to use the b43 driver and so far it seems to work better, but I'll have to test it for a few days to be sure. Wicd and netcfg still hang on the same spots, but networkmanager works.
I've also noticed that my access point appears stronger in the drop down menu in networkmanager; however, my neighbors access point is significantly stronger than it used to be (my access point is now only slightly stronger than my neighbor's who live much farther away). I'm not sure if the proximity of signal strength will cause problems in the future.
For those with similar problems, I'm using the broadcom card below (from lspci).

Sinlge master replication on localhost works not with IP

I'm a littlebit lost, as I don't get a two node BDB setup running. I'll try to give all the setup I use. First of all I only try to start up the first of the two nodes.
When I configure this node with nodeHostPort and helperHosts pointing to localhost, the webapp starting this BDB instance starts up.
When I set both to the IP-address of this very machine, the tomcat stalls in
RepNode. joinGroup(ReplicaConsistencyPolicy consistency, QuorumPolicy initialElectionPolicy):1136:

I'm not sure if I catch, what you mean. Here is what I understood and did:
I completely deleted the BDB database folder - thus it was created fresh and empty, unfortunately I could not start it up. it stalls exactly the same as described above.

Camera connection kit works not with iPad 2, but still with iPad 1

Since I have my iPad 2 i can't import my photos by the kit in the iPad 2, but still works on iPad 1.
I don't know why, because no error messages are displayed or something else.
In both cases I used the same accessories (SD-Card) and the iPads are the "big" versions incl. the 3G.
Could anyone can help me?

Try:
1) To restart (reboot) Press and Hold the Home and Power buttons until the Apple Logo appears, about 10
seconds.
2) If that doesn't work, try a reset. To reset go to Settings, General, Reset, Reset.
3) If it's still bad, you can try a restore from within itunes. (Sync first)

[Solved] Alac doesn't work anymore with Gstreamer0.10

Apple Loseless Audio Codec support seems to be broken for me in the 0.10 branch of gstreamer. Before I was able to play ALAC files in rhythmbox and banshee but it does not work anymore. I think the support for ALAC files is integrated in the package gstreamer-ffmpeg.
This problem does't seems to occur in the 1.0 branch of gstreamer as ALAC files work with Totem and it also work with vlc which use dirrectly ffmpeg.
Does someone have the same problem or is it a problem with my system ?
I tried to reinstall gstreamer0.10 and all plugins but it didn't solve the problem.

[Solved] SSH not working (ISP blocks my port 22)

OK full story:
I want to be able to connect to my home arch linux box from school. The setup there are winxp machines whit putty on my usb or the pc itself. I know that my school is not blocking any ports as my friend can connect to his linux box at home. (also ssh)
These are things i did and can think of i need to to do get ssh working:
Before everything else i started to configure my Linsys router.
My ISP gives me an Dynamic IP so i need to use the dyndns.org service. I made an account and configured my linsys router DDNS tab to work with the account. I got into the port forward tab an putted in ssh port forwarding (on port 22 TCP for my ip 192.168.1.102 => did ifconfig to be sure). Port forwarding for port 9091 is also on for my transmission webgui i'm saying this here because this works when i'm at school.

8. I have never installed any firewall on my arch box (that i know off). I can connect to it using my other linux laptop
ssh -p 22 192.168.1.102 => works
ssh -p 22 xxxxxx.dyndns.org => works (xxx replaced by my dyndns.org domain)
ssh -p 22 9x.xxx.xxx.xx5 => works (xxx is my normal WAN ip offcourse)
Keep in mind that transsmission port forwarding is working fine. I can connect from everywhere to my webgui wich is on port 9091. Anyone can help me get whats wrong?

I don't know if this is case-sensitive, but if it is: it should be "sshd".
If it doesn't work, doesnt hurt to try.

While I can not explain the details of the messages, it is very clear that there is some type of error (probably a software issue more likely than a hardware issue). This relates to the part that says "Unexpected internal error" and to the presence of traceback information. In my experience traceback is always related to a software issue.
Is this perhaps a transient (temporary) problem and after a while SSH worked again? Or is the problem continuing?
As a workaround it might help to reload the router. That might restore normal function for SSH. I believe that a longer term solution will involve upgrading to different code. If the router is covered by a maintenance contract it would be good to open a TAC case on this and get a more authoritative explanation than I am able to give.
