[SOLVED] urxvt stoped working: can't initialize pseudo-tty
Hi guys!
So I have this strange issue with urxvt which just stopped working with one of the latest updates.
Right now I'm using awesomewm and only can launch xterm windows, but as soon as I wan't to launch urxvt:
urxvt: can't initialize pseudo-tty, aborting.
My /dev/pts is mounted
mount /dev/pts
mount: devpts is already mounted or /dev/pts busy
devpts is already mounted on /dev/pts
Also, here is my fstab:
cat /etc/fstab
# <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
devpts /dev/pts devpts defaults 0 0
Any ideas what's going on there?

[SOLVED]Tuner stoped working after kernel update (2.6.25)
I upgraded kernel 2.6.24 to 2.6.25 and my Hauppauge WINTV tuner stopped working. Although it was recognized as I show in dmesg I had the following error "tuner 1-0061: tuner type not set". I downgraded to kernel 2.6.24 (and also downgraded nvidia and lirc packages which were dependencies) and the tuner works fine. This time tuner type is set correctly "tuner 1-0061: type set to Philips PAL/SECAM m" What should I do to make it work with newest kernel?

Last edited by axel (2008-06-16 18:13:23)I tried the latest 2.26.5.6 kernel and I get the same tuner 1-0061: tuner type not set message. This time when I open xawtv I can watch the first channel in my list, but I can't change between channels. Radio doesn't work at all.

I suspect an Apple problem because of the numerous discussion today. It may still work on the phone since it is using different servers.

My computers hard drive has stoped working, how can I retrieve my Itunes library from my computer?
My computers hard drive has stoped working. How can I retrieve my itunes library? My back ups were on this hard drive as well.
When I brought my computer to be fixed they said they would retrieve photos and music and documents but loose my programs. That being said I am not sure if I will recover my music from itunes because it may fall under the program category. I support itunes by purchasing from itunes, but now i am in a position where i may loose years of purchassing music and it has me feeling a little bit sick to be honest...the stress this is causing is really big. DÙoes anyone have any experience with this type of problem?
Help is appreciated, thank you.If the data is recoverable from the drive then they should have recovered the entire iTunes folder which includes the library database. Restore this into the <User's Music> folder of a replacement system, install iTunes, and it should be as before.

Have just down loaded Yosemite over Mountain Lion, Indesign CS5 does not work ( Am dependant on it) although Bridge , Light Room and Elements operate OK How do I solve this rapidly. Can any one help on this issue. Thanks
Sorry to say it, but I think you can see from Bob's response that there's no way to solve this rapidly.
Did you take an image of your Mountain Lion install before upgrading to Yosemite? Roll back to that. If you're not in the habit of taking a snapshot of your system before performing operating system upgrades - get in that habit. If you are dependent on anything at all on hour computer, having a reliable backup method in place is essential. If you don't have a Time Capsule, or some other way to run Time Machine onto a disk that's not in your computer, go set that up yesterday.
If you can't just remove Yosemite and roll back to Mountain Lion for whatever reason, you can partition your drive so that you can install both Yosemite and Mountain Lion on the same drive, and then boot into Mountain Lion when you need to work in CS5. Or you can take your Mountain Lion disc (I assume you have one, no?) and then use it to create a virtual machine in something like VirtualBox to run Mountain Lion from inside Yosemite. -
My Windows host (Rundll32) has stoped working. What can i do to fix it?
Sorry, can't give much more detail. All i can say is some kind of "funny" vidoe clips come up when my comuter wants to shut down after not touching the key pad or mouse. Can't remove it unless, i turn off/ on. Then i get this message "windows host (rundll32) has stoped working.
First you can try;
Try restarting PC and run itunes again!
If error again than perform clean instal of itunes (uninstal first and than instal again)! -

Hi. I have (had) a terminal under C-` shortcut. It stoped working some time ago. I tried to replace it with C-grave and C-0xXX (don't remember value), no result. Anyone know how to get it work again?

Netctl-auto stoped working [Solved]
After update yesterday, netctl-auto stoped working. Netctl start MyProfile works OK.
Something I have missed during update?

Recieving a message 'Photoshop CS5 has been stoped Working'
I have been Recieving a message 'Photoshop CS5 has been stoped Working' after
opening PS and can do a little editing and after about 4 minutes the message comes which have
only one option , close program. Sometime i recieve another message also 'Onone Library' which have option 'ok'.

I tried for a solution by changing name of file in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1\Plug-ins\Extensions
changed Scriptingsupport into ~ScriptingSupport but not solved. Some cannot open image.

The other MessageDouble click on more then one of the Photoshop.exe stopped working entries to see the details like I showed. The details may show what is failing. Like mine showed it was in Photoshop ScripUIflex module. Used by scripts with Dialogs a would guess. Check several of yours. See if its always the same failure. The one you show is in widows ntdll.dll part of windows. On my system there are two ntdll.dll one 32bit version and one 64bit version. What were you trying to do at the time of failure
Also doing a google search on faulting module ntdll.dll returned 59,200 hits I would not know which to begin with.

My cd writer/dvd drive has stoped working without any error messages or anything that could explain what went wrong. My computer is a year old and the drive was rarely used. how can I fix this?
Chad, welcome to the forum.
Check in the Device Manager to see if the drive is listed. If it is, uninstall it from the system using the Device Manager and reboot. This may solve your problem. If not, check to see if there is a firmware update available for the drive. A firmware update can solve many problems. Let us know if either of these solutions work.

Blocked from running *.exe
files. Blocked in Control Panel from Uninstalling anything.
Consistently returns: "Can't initialize plugins directory"
What I tried:
1. Safe Mode with Network
2. File cleanup from C Drive Tools
3. Environmental variable: changed
to this c:/TEMP
c:/TMP (Created TEMP folder
on
directory tree.)
4. Googled error-- known
issue but fixes do not work. (Created New Profile, SFC Scan
of Windows files, moved TEMP folder,
etc)
5. Run as administrator
6. Started after the support desk for ACT client management software uninstalled SQL to restore access to a CLIENT database that was lost for reasons unknown. So it appears some damage was done.
Question is, what was damaged and how to fix it, if this caused this problem and it was not malware fiddling with

Event Viewer under Administrator Tools to check if some logs record recent errors.
Also you can start computer and typing F8, click Repair Your Computer to perform
System Restore.

Windows 8.1 Update Causes Lost Brightness Settings / Screen is Dim
I updated from Windows 8 to 8.1 and the next day my screen went dim and I could not adjust it neither with the keyboard +/-, nor with the onscreen graphics dashboard, nor within the power settings. How do you fix it?

Hi, I am upgrading to SP and get problems to connect to the database server. I am able to start and stop the MDM server, but if I tru to create a new repsoitory or unarchive a repository I get this errormessage. "Unable to connect with Datase Server"
