*** Some incoming/outgoing emails have garbled text it it...

I sent out an email yesterday and the recipient called me to let me know that the message looked like garbage because there were punctuation marks (question marks, parentheses, etc.) in the body of the email and I didn't put them there. I've also noticed that emails that come to me as replies sometimes have these incorrect marks in them if you scroll down and read my original message. Is there a way to see why this is happening and if so, prevent it from occurring in the future or is it a problem on the user's end?

Why do some of my emails have blue squares with a question mark instead of a picture or bar code?

No app installed that will view the pics and bar codes.
Which email client are you using?  Which version?
File suffix of the pics & bar codes?  Example:  .pic, .bmp, .jpg, etc.

  • New incoming & outgoing email settings won't play nice with Spamihilator.

Spam filter Spamihilator automatically changes the new Verizon incoming & outgoing email settings in my email client Thunderbird. Thunderbird and Spamihilator render each other useless with these new settings in effect. I had to disable Spamihilator and manually change ALL the incoming and outgoing settings to get my email back up and running with the new settings. So everyone, check your spam filter. It could be the cause of the problem.

  • Mail: Outgoing emails have 'Possible Spam' in subject line.

When I send emails using Mail they are received with 'Possible Spam' added to the subject line. Of course they are not received at all by some providers like Yahoo, gmail and hotmail, also some others. I think it is a Mail problem because it does not happen when I use my provider's webmail rather than Mail. Help?

Who is your email provider? If your email is received by some people with the words "Possible Spam" in the Subject line, that's done by their email provider; it has nothing to do with Mail or Mac OS X. And if your email is being blocked by Yahoo! Mail, Gmail and Hotmail, that's something they are controlling. For some reason they may have blacklisted the domain of your provider for being a known sender of spam in the past.
The only way to cure that problem is to have your email provider contact the other email providers and try to get them to take you off their list of blocked or questionable domains.

  • Some emails have the text message that belongs in another email. How can I fix this?

The message in some emails belongs in another. The "from" and "subject line" does not match what is in the message area. This has only happened since the last upgrade. I haven't changed any of the settings in my Thunderbird email.

Right click the problem folder and select Properties. Then Repair Folder.

  • Abroad - All incoming & Outgoing Calls have Barred on HTC M9 - Need PIN to unbar

Hi. I landed in Corfu yesterday and I am on 4GEE Extra with HTC M9. Included in package is free international calls and texts. I was able to make and receive a call immediately on entering country... however after a few hours I found I could do neither. On looking at my settings I have noticed that although International Calls are Enabled, 'All Outgoing' & 'All Incoming' caals are disabled... and when trying to enable them it asks for a PIN. The obvious PINs do not work and I have never set one. I have checked over the internet and notive this has happened quite a lot. I have potentially narrowed it down to either the SIM needing reseting by EE or need a PIN2...? I cannot phone 150 so a bit stuck. Need these calls and texts to keep in touch with family so would be so grateful if someone could help please. Thank you (will come online later to check if their is a reply)

    Hi ,

  • What are the Implications of using the wrong incoming/outgoing email server?

Hi, so I have an email account I used through my company. I thought that the email incoming/outcoming would just be company name. It turns out that this was wrong, slightly. I received an email with sensitive information (which I deleted soon after) so is it possible that third parties could read this information? I have since connected to the right server.

    Good question.
These ports are kind of a gateways in which email (data) pass through. Some ISPs' block common ports like 25, 2525.
Try " dangers/risk of email ports " in Google for more information.
    For info about ports:

  • Iphone incoming/outgoing email

I have 4 email accts on my iphone 3g. 2 are godaddy and 2 are Road runner accts. none are business accts. I cant get my phone to send outgoing on any of the accts and incoming mail is not consistant. any suggestions. I've already checked all of the settings against my computer settings and they are correct. My incoming my server is 110, 3535 on the outgoing server.
    Grady

Did you ever get any help with this question? i've had my iphone for 3 painful months of trying to get email consistently. godaddy has been almost impossible. had been inconsistent with POP. just switched to IMAP and can't get any mail whatsover. Godaddy is no help, they just tell me over and over to check my settings -- even though we go over them with each other. Apple is no help because they say it's not the phone. what's up? does anyone know?

  • Why does my outgoing email have code clutter?

I sent an email to my wife. (She uses Outlook Express.) She showed me that wherever I used a TAB, it displays an "A" with a "^" above it. Messages I send to myself don't have that. Messages she has received from other senders do not have it. Messages I sent to her gmail address (which she gets on her Android) do not have it. FYI, my "compose messages in HTML format" setting is ON, but turning it off does not change the result. I don't know what else to try. I don't even know whether the problem is in my settings or hers. Any clues?

  • Outgoing Email Not Working - Relaying

I have a gmail, mobileme, hotmail, and work account for email on my iphone 4 VZW.  All of the incoming/outgoing emails work properly except for my outgoing work account emails.  It tells me that "A Copy has been placed in your outbox.  The recipient '%@' was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying."
When my 3G and wifi are on, I can't send work emails but only receive them.  However, when I turn my wifi off, I'm actually able to send emails.  While perusing through this site, someone recommended turning the wifi off and see what happens.  Well it works but there has to be a solution that allows me to send work emails while on 3G and Wifi.  The broadband provider here in NYC is Time Warner and I need some help!
I have gone into my primary server (SMTP) and typed in my user name and password and changed the port to 587 (It was default on 25) and nothing seems to happen.  My host name is the same for the incoming mail server and the outgoing mail server.
    Incoming Mail Server
    Host Name: XXX
    User Name: XXX
    Password: XXXX
    Outgoing Mail Server
    Host Name:XXX
    Username: XXX
    Password: XXX
    Use SSL - OFF
    Authentication- Password
    Server Port -25
    Any suggestions?!

  • Since 10.5.6 upgrade, email messages are garbled text

    Hi,
This problem seems to have started with the latest upgrade. My email messages are coming in with garbled text. This happens in my Yahoo account where I will go to the mail website and the text there will be fine. It's only in the mail program.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pete.

    Hi,
    I have the same issue.
Although the mails seems to have been downloaded correctly parts of the parts of the message mime information is displayed as part of the mail body.
The only thing that helps is to rebuild the index of the specific mailbox (inbox in my case).
BTW: Mail of iPhone OS does NOT have this problem. Generally it handles mails MUCH better than the real OS X. Strange, isn't it.

  • Text in outgoing emails

I have been using my MacBook Pro for several months now and have had the same account linked to the mail icon as my yahoo account. Over the last few months I have been experiencing trouble with my yahoo account only when sending outgoing emails using my macbook pro. I only experience this when sending emails through safari rather than the mail icon. Every time I send out an email, my message contains a long series of keys from the keyboard prior to my own typed message. This appears after I send every email, but does not appear similar to a signature as I am typing an email. Also, this does not show up if I send an email using another computer or my phone. How can I prevent this from happening again?
The exact series appears as below in every email I send out...
    `
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    7
    8
    9
    0
    =
    backspace
    tab
    q
    w
    e
    r
    .... and so on

AFAIK - You can't prevent the mail from underlining and showing the text as blue when it comes to numbers, address, times and things like that. It is just one annoying feature of the mail app.
You can format outgoing text by selecting it and then tapping the arrow to the right of "Suggest...." And in the next bar that appears tap on "B I U" bold, italics or underline.
