"Some of the Audible files in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPhone because you are not authorized to play them on this computer."

Has anybody got this message?  iTunes says this when I sync my iPhone4.  It does not say what songs were not copled or whether it is my iPhone 4 or my iMac (2011) 21" that it is referring to.  Both devices are authorized in iTunes 10.4 (80).  How do you fix it?  Running OS 10.6.8

  • I'm getting an error message: The app "Pages" was not installed on the iPhone "Mom's iPhone" because you are not authorized for it on this computer

Everytime I sync my iPhone it gives me the warning:  The app "Pages" was not installed on the iPhone "Mom's iPhone" because you are not authorized for it on this computer.
Pages was installed when I initially purchased it for my iPhone, but when I got the 4S recently I got the above message.  I tried deauthorizing and then reauthorizing, but it didn't help.  The Install/Will Install option is there, but gets me the same message.  (And I did hit the Apply button)

Agh! I figured out I had two apple id's and was able to install Pages from that account.  Dumb! :/

  • I keep getting this message: Some of the Audible files in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPad because you are not authorized to play them on this computer."  my audiobooks will not load to my ipad.  Why?

Any suggestions.  I deauthorized and reauthorized my ipad and my imac.  I still get the message

  • Some of the items in the Itunes Library....were not copied....because you..

are not authorized to play them on this computer.
This is what I got...here's my story.
I recently got a mac (absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE it)...and my former pc was in the shop having the lcd replaced...so in my impatience I switched all the songs that were on my ipod to my itunes on my mac...got my pc back and realized there are about 16 songs on my itunes that were not on my ipod...so i plugged my ipod in (on manual setting, configured for windows still) and tried to put those 16 songs on my ipod to move them to the new library and the above message is what I received....what am I doing wrong!
    Thanks!

Mind if I please join this issue? I think I have the same problem, but If I need to start a separate thread, just let me know.
I got "...were not copied to the iPhone because you are not authorized to play them on this computer." This just started happened because I had to get a new hard drive for my iMac and did a restore. Everything seems to be fine except this.
When I try to Authorize computer it is already authorized.
This error statement makes no sense because the songs are ALEADY IN iTunes and would need no authorization to be played on this computer--copying them to the iPhone would seem like another issue.
    Thanks

  • Every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad and the message I get is this: some of the items in the itunes library, including were not copied to the ipad because you are not authorized for them on this computer... help?

For a couple months now, every movie purchase through iTunes fails to transfer to my iPhone or iPad giving me the error: "some of the items in the iTunes library, including were not copied to the iPad because you are not authorized for them on this computer". I have read many forums about deleting, reinstalling, de-authorizing and authorizing my iMac through the iTunes store. Many suggestions don't work except to rename the movie to *.MP4 in Finder under the iTunes movie directory. I imagine this is a setting or a bug somewhere... any suggestions on how to bypass having to rename the files in Finder? My research into Google suggests this problem dates back to 2007 or so but it is now more prevalent than ever.
    Thanks.

  • HT1386 I repeatedly receive an error mesage when trying to sync my ipod touch with my new computer, "some of the items in the itunes library, were not copied to the ipod because you are not authorized for them on this computer."  My computer is authorized

I repeatedly receive an error message when trying to sync my ipod touch with my itunes library with my new computer which reads, "Some of the items in the itunes library were not copied to the ipod because you are not authorized on this computer." However when I try and authorize my computer I always receive the message that this computer is authorized. What am I doing wrong?  I'm missing about 100 songs as a result of this error!!

  • ITunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet...???

    Ok I’m completely lost here....
I’m running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (Build 2600), I updated iTunes to 11.0.2.25 and some other updates for windows last night on my laptop. I try connecting to download the iOS 6.1.2 update for my iPhone 4 and my iPhone 5 via iTunes. I am getting this message for both "iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again." Everything was fine with connecting prior to running these updates because I downloaded the 6.1 update with no problems when it came out.
What I have done so far with which has made no difference:
    Checked my internet connection
    Changed my internet connection
Signed out of iTunes and then signed back in
Ran diagnostics via iTunes, comes back with: Network interfaces verified- Internet connection failed- Secure link to iTunes store verified
Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful.
Connection attempt to browsing iTunes Store was successful.
Connection attempt to purchasing from iTunes Store was successful.
Connection attempt to iPhone activation server was successful.
Connection attempt to firmware update server was successful.

Disabled firewall, spy sweeper, virus scanner
    start>run>cmd> typed "netsh winsock reset"
    Rebooted
Checked the parental controls in iTunes
    Start>control panel>internet options>connections tab> lan settings> selected the "automatically detect settings"
    Deleted iTunes and reinstalled iTunes
When I would "ping gs.apple.com" it would come back with "request timed out" no matter what internet connection I was on, so I went into the hosts file  start>my computer>(C:)>WINDOWS>system32>drivers>ect>HOSTS and added  "#     127.0.0.1     gs.apple.com". Now it will ping gs.apple.com just fine but still comes up with the "iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet" message in iTunes when i try to download the update.
If anyone can come up with any ideas that I haven’t tried, please let me know. This is keeping me back from updating both of my phones along with if anything should ever happen to them; restores as well.

im computer is connected i can go to the apple store through itunes but when i plug my phone in i keep getting that alert... i plugged my phone in to update it after the apple loaded the itunes icon and a usb showed up.

  • HT201210 My partner updated iphone 5, and it now shows 'Connect to iTunes'. Then we get 'iTunes could not contact iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet'. Please help.

iPhone 5 was updated (version unknown), and now screen shows 'Connect to iTunes.  When we try to do this, we get message 'iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the internet'.
Please tell me how I fix this problem.
    Thanks

Yes, the reason you are getting the error is the phone cannot provide internet for the laptop and then update itself. It would lose connection as you erase the firmware and try to update. You need to connect the computer to the Internet in some other fashion before you connect the phone to try and fix the update problem. As Ocean20 says, and I completely agree, how would you think you could use the Internet connection of a device that is not only going to turn off and on, but is going to get completely wiped of firmware and restored? It would completely remove the device from the equation here. Does that make sense to you?

  • "itunes could not contact the ipod software update server because you are not connected to the internet" Help?

Hello all, new to the forums.
I've been recieving the error message "itunes could not contact the ipod software update server because you are not connected to the internet". This problem didn't occur at all for the past 2 years of using itunes.
I've already scanned through numerous websites and forums for help, but none of them worked.
This  set of instructions resulted in no change to any of the problems, though iTunes lists that as the supposed solution.
    # Open Internet Options from control panel.
    # Click the Connections tab.
    # Click the LAN Settings button.
    # Select the Automatically detect settings checkbox.
Others include installing IE7, which that didn't work either.
    Can anyone help?

Right-click the track in your library, Get Info, go to the Info tab, and type in the correct information.  When you are done, click "OK."

Were you definitely connected to the internet at the time? If you don't have iOS 5 on your iPhone then the only way to update it would be via iTunes, once updated to the latest version of iOS you'll be able to update your iPhone without connecting to iTunes "over-the-air".
Before updating however it goes without saying to Backup your iPhone, this should happen by default upon connecting your iPhone to iTunes.
