cause for xmas i'll have the new nano, the red one so......i dont want miss others songs in it....plz help me fast
    thanks

My question was simply, "Are you saying that you have songs on your iPod that are not in your current iTunes library on your new computer?"  If you are saying YES to that question...
You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your iTunes library so that all of your songs are in one place.

  • Songs in my library, but not on IPOD

I am trying to take a couple songs that are in my library, but they will not download to my Ipod, does anyone know how to fix this? I have tried dragging them to the folder, but nothing shows up.

I'm sorry, I replied to the wrong post. Excuse me!

  • Songs in my library but not on my ipod?

I've 2,600 songs in my itunes library but only 2,100 or so on my ipod. I've updated the ipod and can actually work out what many of the missing songs are. They were all uploaded from cd to the library and play ok from the library.
I've tried the search function on here which led me to use the 'file' 'get info' option. The songs appear to be in the itunes library ok.
    Any thoughts please?

Thanks for the suggestion. The ipod's not full, songs loaded from cd or bought from itunes after the ones which aren't playing are fine.
Both the songs which are fine and the ones sitting in the librarry all seem to be AAC Audio files..this means nothing to me I'm afraid.
    Any other thoughts?

  • I have a new computer, and I downloaded a new iTunes for my iPod, but it only transferred my Purchased Songs to my Library, not the other mp3s. Now when I go to add more mp3s and sync, it will add it to my Library, but not my iPod itself... What happened?

I want to add more songs, but I cannot figure out how to sync my iPod to actually transfer my mp3s. I had done it before, which is how I have most of my songs, but I don't know what I can do without totally erasing everyhing and starting over... Which I don't want to do, because I have a new computer and no old files. I'll have to do that if worst comes to worst, I guess. Hoping there's some other way around it.

You can only synce an iPod to one iTunes Library/one computer.  However, you can manage music among different computer . see:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
If you want to transfer non-iTunes purchased music from an iPod to a computer other than the one you synced the music from you need to use a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • Please Help! TV shows show up in my library, but not on iPod

I downloaded 3 TV shows which I watched on my iPod. They were in the "recently added" folder, but I couldn't find them elsewhere.
Now, after importing some music, it shows in my iTunes library but it's nowhere on my iPod.
I have tried checking and unchecking different video options, but nothing seems to work. I changed the setting for syncing +only unwatched videos+ and +syncing only checked items+.
In a nutshell, I can't seem to get already viewed video from my computer to my iPod.
PLEASE HELP! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

One thing I forgot to ask is how do I avoid this in the future? If I forever lose those 3 shows it's not the end of the world, but it makes me reluctant to purchase anything else.
Is there something I can do the next time before syncing my iPod to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks so much!

  • ITunes purchased song plays in iTunes but not on iPod

I have purchased several songs from the music store. One of the songs will play in iTunes but not on my iPod. I've removed the song several times from the iPod and resynced with iTunes, but the song still cuts out in the middle of the song. What should I do?

If it's just a problem with that song, I would contact the customer service who may authorize another download.

  • Songs visible in iTunes, but not in iPod

    Hi.
I just got an adaptec firewire card for my 3rd generation 20Gb iPod. I have been able to 'load' all my songs into it, so that they show up in iTunes. Yet, after I disconnect it from the computer, the songs are not there.
Some background and things that I found odd along the way and that may give you a clue of what my problem is:
I originally loaded about 30 songs from my home computer using a USB port (I didn't load more because this drains the battery of the iPod and the process stops).
I never got a drive for my iPod when I open "My Computer"
Originally, I only had (my guess) .2 Gb of usage, yet, the bar at the bottom of iTunes indicated something like 20Gb of use, 19.5 Gb free (again, this is a 20Gb iPod). When I loaded the files, the bar moved to approx 25Gb used, 15 Gb free.
At some point I asked for an automatic loading of the playlist, which prompted a message stating that my previous music would be deleted. I had no problem with that, so I clicked okay. Yet, as of now, the only music I do see from the iPod is the one I had before.
Every time I connect the iPod, iTunes spends about 10 minutes with a message "Updating, don't disconnect your iPod". Nevertheless, there is a big checkmark in the iPod stating "OK to disconnect"
Finally, I went to manual loading again. I transferred a single playlist. It took another ten minutes and then I got an "unknown error (-36)".
So, to recap, iTunes says that I have about 5Gb of music and lists all songs (about 1200). iPod only sees the original 30 songs.
Your help will be appreciated. Thanks
    Pedro

Thanks, b noir, for taking a crack at my problem (the original message in the thread). It turns out that the -36 error code was a red herring, and I probably created it by my more convoluted ways of trying to crack the problem.
At any rate, I figured out what my problem was and I decided to post the solution here in case somebody else finds it in the future.
My problem was that songs 'loaded' to the iPod in the sense that there was a folder popping up in iTunes called "Xis' iPod" that listed all the songs I intended to transfer. Yet, after disconnecting, the songs weren't in the iPod.
The problem stemmed from the fact that my computer is networked. My last 'real' drive is drive F. The first network drive is drive G. Apparently (this is my speculation) when I plugged the iPod, the computer assigned the label 'drive G' to both the iPod and the network drive. Thus, iTunes actually created a folder in my network drive called "Xis' iPod" and all the songs were indeed there. That explains the slow loading of songs and the fact that the iPod was ready to disconnect when iTunes was telling me not to do it. Luckily, yesterday I got a new laptop, and when I was using the network drive to transfer files from the desktop to the laptop, I noticed that the network drive had an extra 6Gb of usage. I looked there and, sure enough, the folder was present.
So, to solve the problem, all I did was to remove the computer from the network and reboot. Everything worked well after that (well, the iPod froze upon connecting, but resetting it did the job).
I hope this may help somebody else.

  • Nikon D800 raw files taken with Sandisk extreme plus 32GB SDHC card got corrupted. Able to preview them in Lightroom4.4 Library, but not able to import or transfer the files from card to computer. Any ideas on how to save images from Library Window in Lig

Hi, I have shot few pictures on 31st December night in RAW mode using Nikon D800 and Sandisk extreme plus 32GB SDHC card. It looks like card got some memory errors so not able to transfer the files from Card to computer. However I am able to view the pics thru Lightroom ver 4.4 Library, but when I tried to import them, it gives me an error stating that file can't be read.
Is there a way to save the pics from Library window in lightroom overcoming the card read errors ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi SSPRENGEL,
Thank you for your response. Here is the error message I am receiving, I tried with various destination folders in the computer but it still gives the same error:. Just to let you know, I am able to import pictures into these folders from other memory cards.

  • How do I delete songs from library but not my ipod

    Hi,
    Can anyone help me.
I want to delete songs that in my library to increase the memory on my pc, but if I de-select them, they will be deleted from my ipod.
I want to keep all the songs in my ipod but add to them later, how do i do this.
also, i may wish to delete songs later, but again how do i do this if i have deleted my library.
    scott.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    Set iPod to manual update.
But be warned, if something happens to your iPod later, you may risk losing your songs. Better backup your songs first before deleting them from the computer.

  • Music in itunes library but not on ipod

I just recently got a new computer and was able to burn all of my songs onto my new pc into a folder. I then added the folder to my itunes library. The music can play just fine off of my computer but it doesn't load the songs onto my ipod. So i cant play them on my ipod, just off my computer in itunes. I'm stuck.

I transferred them to the folder by using one of the free programs that copies music files onto your computer. i just tried to right click and sync but it says that "an unknown error occured (-69)".

  • Songs deleted from Library but not deleted from Hard Disk

HELP: I had multiple songs repeated in my Library, deleted the songs and cleaned up the Library data base. Some songs were NOT deleted from the hard drive. Copied all my music to my laptop computer and asked Itunes to rebuild database. There are about 1100 more songs in the new data base than in my home computer. how can i erase all the songs that are on my laptop hard drive that are not in my itunes Library?

You may have to rebuild your iTunes Match library by turning it off on both your computer (iTunes>Store>Turn Off iTunes Match) and you phone (Settings>Music>iTunes Match>Off), then turn it back on on your computer, and when complete, turn it back on on your phone.

  • Downloaded songs play in iTunes but not on iPod classic

I recently bought albums from Amazon.com thru the Cloud player and they show up in and play in iTunes without a problem but they don't even show up on my iPod. This is the first time I've tried this...for the purpose of not buying physical copies of CDs anymore (I don't have room for them).
Please don't tell me I wasted my money on these downloads! I tried going to "Advanced" - Create iPod or iPhone Version but it was grayed out and wouldn't let me. I tried Create MP3 Version but all that did was make duplicates in my iTunes that still won't show up on my iPod.
I have a good size iPod (160 GB). Where do I find what version of iTunes I have? I'm pretty sure I've downloded updates before. Where do I find out what version I currently have...in fact, what is the newest version? Somebody please help!!
    Thank you,
    ChiaSpud

Version information: Help > About iTunes.
Tracks from Amazon should play on your iPod just fine. Two possibilities come to mind, either your sync settings are such that these tracks haven't been automatically included or manually dragged into of the playlists your device syncs with, or it is a case of Missing Artist or Album not with others by same artist.

  • TV shows appear in iTunes but not in iPod

I have a 5G iPod video running on a HP with Windows XP. I have purchased several TV shows form iTunes and they show up in my iTunes library but not all of the episodes transfer to my iPod. My iPod is set to automatically sync with my library, but some of the the TV episodes still do not transfer. They are all checked and should transfer automatically. Also, if I select the missing shows and drag and drop them from the library into my iPod, they transfer. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks for any help you can give me!
    Chris

You may have set your iPod to sync only unwatched episodes.
Connect your iPod, then when the summary screen appears click on the TV shows tab.
Change the preference to what suits you best.
