Songs wont transfer to ipod

when i plug in my ipod to my computer, some of the new songs i recently got wont transfer. i tried updating the library and ipod software which didnt help. my ipod got a little little bit wet in the rain, did this do something?

Similar problem. This started a few weeks ago with Itunes upgrades. Itunes and the Ipod act as if synchronizing. The Ipod shows up in Itunes and Itunes says it is transferring songs. When all are transferred the message to disconnect is given on both. However, the line in Itunes showing disk availability is showing a network drive rather than the Ipod and the songs don't transfer to the Ipod. I think it is 5 times now I have used the Ipod updater to go back to factory defaults and uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes. Then I connect, it shows the Ipod as connected and transfers the entire library. It then works a couple of times and then starts doing this again.
Ideas?

i buy the song and it downloads and updates to my ipod. i disconnect my ipod to listen to the song and just the title is in my list of songs. The song doesn't play, it just flips to the next song.

This is an emerging issue with the music store content transfering to the ipod and not playing. If you call Apple they will get you to a product specialist and they will walk you through getting that music to work on the ipod.

  • Purchased songs wont transfer to Itouch

I just got a new mac and I transferred all my old songs to my new computer and they all transferred to my Itouch fine but the new songs I bought on my mac wont transfer. Any ideas??

Kathy, your purchased music not going on iPod is usually a symptom that your iPod software is not current. The following link will explain how to update your software using the iPod updater. Hope this helps!

  • Video wont transfer to iPod Classic

Why is this? It transfered before, then I wiped it and now it wont transfer, saying those videos aren't compatible with this version of iPod.

    Hi Peabot,
If you are having issues transfering videos to your iPod Classic, especially videos that have transferred successfully previously, you may want to take a look at the following article:

  • Songs wont work on ipod, but works on iphone

hello, my songs wont work on my ipod but it works on my iphone. is there a reason this is happening? the songs are in .aiff format.
i downloaded a bunch of songs from youtube, and used audacity to convert them because i didnt like the bit rate.
i think it's the 6th gen ipod nano? its the small square one with a touch screen.
after that, i synced my iphone and the ipod nano. the songs are working on my iphone, but not on my ipod nano..

That is a problem with iOS 5 and iTunes 10.5/10.6 for many users. Sometimes unsyncing the songs and resyncing works. Other times restoring from backup works. Other users had not really found a solution.

  • Tiny 'I' in a circle-iTunes wont transfer to iPod

OK, weird deal. Only happens on TV shows and Audiobooks that I can tell. Downloads to iTunes fine, shows up in the correct Library folder. But won't transfer to iPod. Did all the 5 'R' stuff. Just noticed that all the stuff that won't transfer has a small icon in the description, a small 'I' in a circle. It's the common denominator, so it's telling me something. The books I have don't tell me, and I've scrolled into these forums for a while without a clue. Help!

I believe the "circle-i" is just the info button. Click on it and a little info about the show/book will appear.
Make sure the books (and other content) play fine in iTunes. Sometimes you have to authorize new stuff.
Not likely, but if you get a lot of store content from other people on your iPod, I think there is a limit to having content from no more than 5 different iTunes accounts on a single iPod. I would think you'd get an error in that case, but maybe not.
As neil said, resetting the warnings should give some clue. But the "circle-i" is a red herring IMHO.

  • Select songs WONT go on ipod!

Ok, i put my ipod into my mac and bought 15 songs from itunes. When all was purchased i dragged all of the purchased songs into my ipod. Only two of the 15 songs went into my ipod! (Fall for you by secondhand serenade and Hot N cold by Katy Perry) I've tried updating to the latest version of itunes, and basically everything! Why won't my other 13 songs that i purchased go to my ipod? And what can i do to have them get on there?
Only one of the songs is marked "explicit" if that helps you out...
    thanks for your help!

  • Please help!! songs wont go to ipod

i have the songs in my itunes library, but when i plug in the ipod, it says that its updated, and all the songs arent on my ipod. i have already tried converting the id3 tags, and that hasnt worked. Please help!

I had that problem when I first started out. I ended up getting them all to play by dragging and clicking every downloaded song into the "Purchase" playlist. Even though they werent purchases, it worked. Although this might not be the "right" way to do it, it sure worked for me. Try dragging the songs to purchases and plug in your IPOD and see if that works.
    Hope that helps!

  • CD song wont transfer to my ipod

Songs I have previously loaded to itunes on my macbook are not transfering to my new itouch. I have reseet it and it still
wont load. Any suggestions? I have tried to manually move them over but still does not work.

Do you have any Restrictions set that would prevent getting that song on the iPod? Settings>General>Restrictions

  • Purchased Songs wont Sync to ipod?

Iv'e just recived a 8G ipod nano for my birthday with an itunes gift voucher. I purchased some music and then tried to sync it with my ipod but on the computer it comes up with a message box saying that it 'cannot transfer select songs because you are not autherised to play them on this computer". So I went in to the "store" option in the itunes browser and selected "autherise" but it then tells me its already autherised. So I tried to sync again but it came up with the 'you are not authrised to play this song' message again. It's strange because i can still play it on my computer but it wont sync to my ipod. What can I do?

    Hey there,
Have you tried deauthorizing the computer first and then authorizing it again to see if that takes care of anything? Give it shot. Hope it helps.

  • Song wont go to ipod

I bought a new computer and installed itunes. Now when I add new music to itunes it wont go on my ipod. On the bottom of itunes there is a picture of a lock. Can anyone help me with this?

    David,
When you connect your iPod to your new computer, this is the message that you will see.
”The iPod “xxxxx’s iPod” is linked to another iTunes music library. Do you want change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all your existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library.”
If you click 'yes' all the songs on the iPod will be erased and replaced by the songs on your new computer. If you don't want that to happen, click 'no', then change the method of transfer to manual in the iPod options.
If those songs on your iPod you want back in your new computer's iTunes, then check out this link for suggestions on how to do that.

After the songs are safely back in your new iTunes library, then you can change back to auto transfer if you wish.

  • Tunes wont transfer to ipod

i recently downloaded about 50 songs to my shuffle, went back in about 2 weeks later and the library is empty. then my shuffle is empty. so i cut my losses, buy a new computer and start again. but with 2 songs in my library that wont go onto my shuffle???????? HELP!

  • A song wont play my ipod

i put the song low on it and it plays the beginning but that all then goes to the next song the video wont work either and i really need help to fix it so please help me.

So you've tried re-importing those songs into your iTunes library again, too?
Well, are these songs from the iTunes Store, or not?
If they are from the iTS, try checking out this article about that problem:
iPod doesn't play purchased content from the iTunes Store
It might not be your iPod, but the files themselves.
    Try this:
Import either a new CD into iTunes library, or just a second copy of one of the albums that's currently on your iPod.
Now, sync that to your iPod, as well as all the song files that work, these ten tracks that don't work, etc.
Does this newly imported album work or not?
