Sorting and then navigating to subreport

Hi, I have a standard table with sort enable in all columns. One of the columns navigates to a subreport when you click on any value. If I click on it without sorting first by that column I navigate to the subreport which returns the correct number of records.
However, if I sort the column in question first and then click to navigate to the subreport this one returns ALL records.
Any ideas on how to circumvent this bug would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
The filters in the subreport are pretty simple.
Student ID is prompted
AND Class Of is not equal to / is not in UNKNOWN
AND CAST ( CAST (Class Of.Class Of ... is between School End Year-1 and School End Year+2
AND AG Course Flag is not equal to / is not in U
This is an education center, so we pass student ID and the class of his/her graduation.
It works well until you sort, in the calling report, the values in the column (which are usually Y or N)
Thanks

  • Summary row in tableview (including sorting and BYPAGE navigation)

    Hello everybody,
    I already found a few topics dealing with this problem but I wasn't able to find a real solution for this.
    So far I'm pretty familiar with table iterators but I have no idea how to handle the summary row to be the last line in a table, even if sorting and navigation by page is allowed in the tableview.
    I think you definitely have to add this summary row in your internal table, since you can not add a virtual row in your tableview. And you can custom render this row or respectively each cell for instance with a different color but how to force this row always to appear as the last row in every tableview page (navigation=BYPAGE).
    Does anyone have a solution for that?
    Thanx
    Oliver

    Ok, here is what I came up with (hoping I got your problem right):
    In your tableview you are displaying <b>x</b> rows, and after these rows you want your sum row to be displayed.
    I have done quite some things with iterators, but why not do without one here
    Altering the internal table can do as well:
    Try to insert a new row after every <b>x</b> rows into your internal table which holds the needed sum values, and then change your tableview to display <b>x+1</b> rows.
    In you case you need to do some operations with your internal table (to avoid the sum rows messing up the results) you should somehow "mark" these sum rows so you can distinguish them later on.
    Hope this is helpful for your problem.

  • Do you know of a simple way of sorting and deleting duplicate photos on  aperture

    Hi , Do you know of a simple way of sorting and then deleting duplicate photos on Apeture.
    Thanks Phil

    There is no simple way. The best strategy really is to take care not to import duplicates.
    What is your Aperture 3 version?
    What kind of duplicates are you asking about?
    If you imported exactly the same file multiple times, sorting your images in the Finder by filename or creation date will display them side by side.
    If you have diferently sized versions of the same image, edited versions, or versions converted to a different format, then sorting by creation date will not help; you might try to sort by capture date, but that may fail, if there were different imezone settings when you imported the images.
    You could also sort be filename, if you did not rename the images on import.
    If you renamed your versions, adjusted the date, modified the file properties by writing to the original files, try to sort by other tages - faces, location, keywords.
    There are some helper applications to scan your Aperture library and tag duplicates: (I have not really tested any of them)
    Duplicate Annihilator (Mac) - Download  good to detect accidentally imported thumbnails
    http://photosweeper.en.softonic.com/mac  : This app can actually detect edited duplicates based on statistic measures and histogram similarity.

  • Extract date modified for sorting and renaming

    I am new to the area of XMP data so bare with this inquiry..
    I am trying to sort a lot of pictures by their actual modified date versus the date modified that shows in the file browser of my os ( mac os x).
    Is there a way to extract the actual date modified from within the Description metadata of an image and then use that information to sort and then rename the pictures?
    I can see in Adobe Bridge that the data modified is captured and this would actually tell me the correct sequence the pictures should be in. If I had that information I could then sort and determine a renaming scheme to name the sequence and use that in various xml data feeds.
    Or is there a way I can access the data through xml. Perhaps through XML I can load the images in order to the resulting file ( in this case a flash movie.)
    Thanks in advance for thoughts on this...
    Suz

    Greetings,
                 I have produced such a command line tool a long time ago that should do this, I have recently re-released the tools. Even though, the tools are still in BETA stage, you can get them here:
    http://www.optimasc.com/products/dex/index.html
    Look for the renameto.exe tool in the bin directory after installation.
    Please do a backup of your files, since its still BETA!
    Good luck!

  • JTable woes (JDK 1.5): Sorting and updating data

    So I've been working on this project for a while here that is essentially the front-end to a database system. The data itself is displayed in a JTable derivative. Column 1 is a JComboBox containing a list of companies, Column 2 is a JComboBox containing a list of employees, and the rest of the columns contain information specific to that employee.
    The data for each row is actually contained within a custom TableRowData object, which is used to assign listeners and such:
        private void initComponents() {
            this.organizations.setSelectedEnum(this.data.getOrganizationNumber());
            organizations.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                    if("comboBoxChanged".equals(e.getActionCommand())) {
                        clearData();
                        try {
                            updateEmployees();
                            fireRowDataChanged();
                        } catch (SQLException ex) {
                            Logger.getLogger(VenosTeammateRow.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
            pocs.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
                public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
                    if("comboBoxChanged".equals(e.getActionCommand())) {
                        try {
                            data = getEmployeeInformation();
                            fireRowDataChanged();
                        } catch (SQLException ex) {
                            Logger.getLogger(VenosTeammateRow.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
        }Ideally, I would like a change in Column 1 to load the employees for the selected company into Column 2. This is working as expected.
    I would also like a change in Column 2 to load the information specific to the selected employee into the rest of the columns. This is also working as expected.
    The problem I am having arises when the data is sorted and THEN a change is made to either column.
    To sort, I am using a custom comparator that keeps track of the sort direction and current sort column.
    In the JTable derivative class, I have a method, sortByColumn(int col):
    public void sortByColumn(int col) {
            this.getColumnModel().getColumn(col).getCellEditor().cancelCellEditing();
            if(this.getSelectedRow() > 0 && this.getSelectedRow() < this.getRowCount())
                this.removeRowSelectionInterval(this.getSelectedRow(), this.getSelectedRow());
            DefaultTableModel mdl = (DefaultTableModel)this.getModel();
            comp.setSortColumn(col);
            Collections.sort(mdl.getDataVector(), comp);
            // Declare and initialize the header
            JTableHeader header = this.getTableHeader();
            // Reset all headers to their identifier values
            for(int i = 0; i < mdl.getColumnCount(); i++) {
                String identifier = header.getColumnModel().getColumn(i).getIdentifier().toString();
                header.getColumnModel().getColumn(i).setHeaderValue(identifier);
            // Find the sort order (for the sorting indicator)
            int sortOrder = comp.getSortOrder(col);
            // Store the identifier text temporarily
            String headerText = header.getColumnModel().getColumn(col).getIdentifier().toString();
            // Declare and initialize the sort indicator based on the sort order
            String sortIndicator;
            switch(sortOrder) {
                case TableRowComparator.ASCENDING:
                    sortIndicator = "  \u2191";
                    break;
                case TableRowComparator.DECENDING:
                    sortIndicator = "  \u2193";
                    break;
                case TableRowComparator.UNSORTED:
                    sortIndicator = "";
                    break;
                default:
                    sortIndicator = "  \u2193";
                    break;
            /* Set the Header to display the text with the indicator. Since
             * this will automatically set the Identifier to the same value,
             * reset it to the value we stored previously.
            header.getColumnModel().getColumn(col).setHeaderValue(headerText+sortIndicator);
            header.getColumnModel().getColumn(col).setIdentifier(headerText);
            // Make sure all the changes are painted
            header.repaint();
            this.repaint();
        }After the sort, the rows are updated and displayed correctly. However, for example with three rows, if by sorting row 1 and row 3 swap, changing the JComboBox in row 3 also updates the data in row 1.
    I'll be converting my code into a short self-contained program momentarily to post on here for a better understanding of what's going on. However, I decided I would post this just in case there were something painfully obvious I missed.
    Thanks.

    Thanks, you've been really helpful :) However, I realized while trying to copy my code to a smaller, self-contained form to illustrate my problems... I never changed the row number in my TableDataRow! So of course the update information, which was relying on the row number stored in the TableDataRow object (and not the actual row number in the model's data vector) updated according to the old row numbers.
    Basically, I coded myself into a corner :P
    Fixed it by making a new comparator to compare TableDataRow objects, and I stored an array of those objects in my custom table model. So the hard work is done on the TableDataRow objects, the data vector is cleared, and then each TableDataRow is added back as a vector.
    Not sure if this is the most elegant solution, but... it works.

    Hi Maxicosi,
    You can achive with Sort Priority of the Role/Workset object properties.

  • When I export a playlist and then open in excel, do whatever sorting I want, I then save the file and reimport into itunes but not all the songs are there. It appears to be from "comma's" in the song name. Any solutions?

    I see songs such as "Monday, Monday" or "Paint It, Black" or even the artist name such as "Fireballs, with Jimmy Gilmer" which have comma's in them, being a problem when I try to do the following:
    1. Export a playlist which contains songs which are all there and play fine, but some have comma's in the title such as listed above.
    2. I then open that file in Excel and bring it in as a Tab-delimited file.  Everything lays out fine, and all the songs are thing (including those with comma's).
    3. I then sort the varoius fields I want (which I can't do in i-tunes because i-tunes won't sort it properly), and resave the file as a newly named file, which is also a .txt file.
    4. I then import that playlist into my itunes. It is exactly the same songs that I just had exported but i-tunes says some of the songs can't be found.
    I have traced this problem to comma's in the file name of the song such as listed above.  There must be a solution to this either as the file is opened in excel or in how it's saved or some other solution short of having to rename song/artists without using comma's.
    Thanks.

    The additional problem is the file name of the song itself.  Even if I were able to delete the commas or replace with a space for example, changing the file name would result in itunes not being able to find the file.  I would have to go through each file (out of about 15,000+ songs) to find any that have titles such as described in this thread and change not only the song and artist in the fields, but changing the mp3 file itself.
    I fear that I am really pretty much going to have to start with a list of songs that have no comma and then do a file compare to find those songs with commas and then just physically moving them into a new playlist I'm trying to create, but this is a royal pain as I want to be able to create a variety of playlists based on these chart dates/peak positions.
    I'm trying to sort the songs in this manner:  I use different fields in itunes so that I can put the "peak position" of each song based on Billboard charts, as well as the date the peak position was acheived. I use the "comment box" for that.  I use the "grouping" field for my peak position.
    So I end up with something like "10/14/1980" in the comment box as the peak position for a song which is in the grouping field, and so forth.  If I try to sort the comments column in itunes for example, it won't sort properly. If I sort the Grouping field, it will bring up all the "1's", but that's followed by "10", 11, ...19, then "2", etc.  This is why I want to export the playlist and sort it as I want, and then reimport the playlist into itunes.
    What I'm ultimately trying to achieve is a year-by-year peak position playlist so that I end up with every #1 song (in this case) from, say, January 1st 1980 and then every #1 song in sequential order for the rest of the year falls in line.  I have chart position dates from 1955 through 1999.  I have entered in all the data from Billboard books I own so I can really create some amazing playlists, but these commas are problematic. Had I known this ahead of time I would have made "Monday, Monday" as "Monday Monday" and not included commas, but it's too late for that.
    Any suggestions?

    I have downloaded and installed the latest version of numbers on my mac. Everytime I save and then try to reopen that document, I receive a message telling me that I need a new version of numbers. Also, when I try to sort the date column, it sorts out of order. The last version sorted fine.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    When you install the new iWork version, the old iWork version is kept, so it looks like you are opening your old version.
    To fix this, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and drag the new Numbers version to the Dock, so you can access to it quickly. Open all documents from this version. I don't recommend you to delete the old Numbers version in case you need it.
    Respecting to the second question, you will get better answers in the Numbers for OS X forum

    Select all the photos that you need to change, then click the "Photos" menu and choose "Adjust Date and Time".
    If you add a year, it will adjust all the photos that you selected by adding a year (so if you accidentally select one of the photos that already has "2012", that will change to "2013").

  • Reading through a text file and then sorting

    I'm having a lot of problems with this.
    I have to read through a text file and I have to split the string up so that it is seperated into individual tokens. A line from the text file looks like this. addEvent(new Bell(tm + 9000)). I have to grab the addEvent, new, Bell, tm and 9000 and store it in a linkedlist. After reading through the whole text file I have to sort the the linked list based on the number. ie: 9000. Is there any way to do this? I currently break up the text file using a StringTokenizer object but then i am uncertain on how to add it to a linked list and then sort each line based on the number. Any help would be appreciated.
    Joe

    Sorry to bother you Ben but I just can't get my head wrapped around this. Here is exactly what I have to do:
    After reading, Events must be stored in the EventSet according to the time they are to occur. Assume that no time number is more than 8 digits long. Restart() must be able to deal appropriately with any order of the Events. To accomplish this have Restart() save the relevant Event information in an LinkedList of strings and sort the Events by time before adding each event to EventSet. Use the <list>.add() to set up your linked list. This is shown in c09:List1.java and Collections.sort(<list>) shown in c09:ListSortSearch. Modify the Bell() to output a single "Bing!". When you read in a Bell event generate the appropriate number of Bell events as indicated by rings. These must be set to the correct times. This is an alternative to generating the new Bell events within Bell(). It will allow them be sorted into their correct time sequence. At this point the output of the program should be identical the original program.
    After the intitial start, when restarting Restart() must provide to the user the option to recreate the EventSet from the linked list or read in a new file (supplied by the user). This must be achieved by prompting the user at the console. Please also allow the user the option to quit the program at this stage.

    Is this problem easier than I think it is? I just don't know what to add to the linkedList. A LinkedList within a linkedList? I find this problem pretty difficult. Any help is muchly appreciated.

  • Sorting - numbers first and then the alphabets ?

    Hi,
    I have a list of names
    starting with space, starting with numbers and some starting with upper case and then some starting with lower case letters.
    The default order by sorts is - spaces, numbers, upper case alphabets and lower case alphabets.
    But I want to order the names by spaces first, lower case alphabets, upper case alphabets and then the numbers.
    How do i do this? Any help is appreciated.
    thanks

    Hi,
    So you have 62 characters (10 digits, 26 capital letters and 26 small letters) that are now being sorted in one order, but you want them sorted in another order.
    ORDER BY a TRANSLATEd version of the string:
    SELECT     name
    FROM     table_x
    ORDER BY     TRANSLATE
         ( name
         , 'abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ0123456789'
         , '0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'
         );Notice that the 2nd argument to TRANSLATE has the 62 characters in the desired order.
    The 3rd argument has the same 62 characters in the default sort order, that is, the order in which they will be sorted.
    That is:
    'a' will now be sorted as if it were '0', the very first of the 62
    'b' will now be sorted as if it were '1', the second of the 62
    '9' will now be sorted as if it were 'z', the last of the 62
