Sorting Comments

Is there anyway to sort the comments in your blog by date? At the moment the blogs are sorted with the oldest at the top going to the newest at the bottom. I want to be able to have the latest blogs at the top of the page - is there anyway to do this?
Thanks!
iMac G5 (iSight)   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Unfortunately with the Apple commenting system, there is no way to do this.

    OK, as always I waited before downloading a new OS and I'm sure glad I did. On the APP store I sorted comments by most critical...and WHOA...what is Apple doing? No support for Logic 9, MS Office? Is Apple only trying to reach the iphone/iTouch crowd? HELP! I was going to buy a new Mac pro & two 27" monitors but until I see some real problem addressing by Apple...I'll keep what I have and see how everything pans out. If anyone has any comments to ally my fears, I welcome them. I've been a devoted Mac user since 1993. 7500; G4; G5; and my latest Mac Pro...Where do I go? Again...HELP!

    Hi there,
    If you look through ALL the reviews, they are mainly good. I feel that Lion is an excellent upgrade, although not essential.
    There have been some issues with MS Office, but right now, it is up to Microsoft to issue a Lion compatible update, which will come in time. Saying this, MS Office has been working fine on my mac, it seems to be an isolated issue.
    Logic 9 seems like a strange issue. Again, an update looks to be coming soon, with Lion support.
    I do not feel that apple only focusing on the iPhone and iPad user base. There are many features carried along, but the machine can still be used for pro tools and use just as well. It still is a fantastic, reliable, fast, easy to use OS, which I have had very few problems with. Some additions you may not use, but they don't get in the way. You will love the new Exposé, Mission Control, as it is great for pro users who have many windows open at once, and the new spaces. You may however, never use Launchpad, but you don't have to, just drag it away from the dock!
    I really reccomend buying a mac with Lion, although if you are worried about bugs, wait a few months for the issues to be ironed out, and updates to be given. Because the update is so very cheap, I really think you can hardly go wrong. Try it out with your current mac, and if you like it, go ahead and buy your new ones.
    Lion is fantastic, albeit maybe rushed.
    Any other queries, just ask,
    Nathan

  • Can I sort Comments by the order they appear on a page (i.e., top to bottom)?  Or can I only sort by page, but not within a page?

    I would like to be able to sort Comments not only by page, but also in the order they fall within a page.  For example, starting at the top of the page and working my way down so I am not jumping all over the page.  Is there such an option?

  • View Only New Replies When Sorting Comments

    Hi,
    I was wondering if there was a way to view only the newest replies, edits, and comments when having a dialogue between coworkers.  There is the whole, "When you hide or sort comments, any replies are hidden or sorted with the original comment" dialogue box ... is there a way to turn this function off?  The shared review tracker doesn't necessarily fit our needs.  Essentially, I would really like to sort by the author of the reply and not by the author of the original comment.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Acrobat XI: Sorting comments by page results in out of order comments?

    When I am using the comment list to go through a pdf, I like to use sort by page to order it. However, it doesn't always sort in a left to right, top to bottom format. This is becoming very confusing for my editors as they work.Sometimes it will sort mostly left to right, top to bottom, but just take one particular tool (i.e. the strikethrough text tool) and prioritize it so that no matter where it is on a line of text, it gets bumped ahead of the other comments on that line in the comment list. Other times it will sort it in a top to bottom, left to right format (i.e. you have to read in a sort of "column" fashion going down the page on the left side and then going back up to the top for the middle, then back up for the right side). When I choose sort by page, I simply want it to sort all comments on the page, no matter what type, in a left to right, top to bottom order. Is there a way to make it do this?

    > so I really need
    > them in the order I put then in on the page
    suggestion one- use a different script that allows you to set
    the order.
    suggestion two, using the godaddy script- rename the form
    field names/ids of
    those fields so they will come in the order you want, AFTER
    the sort by the
    script.
    three- don't use blank spaces in field names or ids.
    aa_my_first_field
    ba_the_name_i_want_second
    ca_broker_phone_i_want_third
    using two letters in the prefix allows inserting a new field
    between
    existing fields later such as bb_this_is_now_third

  • Why is Acrobat Comment via Email better than Word?

    I have to do a major presentation on Commenting using Acrobat
    Commenting via email. I have used Adobe Captivate to create a great
    presentation but I have just anticipated that someone will ask me
    why they should use Adobe rather than Word. Although I am convinced
    Word must be inferior to Acrobat I don't know exactly why.
    I have to do the presentation Monday afternoon. Can anyone
    give me a great list of reasons?

    Thanks I did some thinking and here are a few more:
    More ways to comment e.g. call outs, high lighter, thought
    bubbles, arrows as well as text edits.
    Security.
    Better tracking; who has it been sent to, remind recalcitrant
    reviewees, sort comments, ability to invite new members. Many
    people can easily contribute.
    The author is in total control of the document.
    No issues with mixing up versions.

  • Ability to sort by status, ignoring who set the status

    We are utilizing Shared reviews (currently using Acrobat Pro 8 & Reader 8 on Macs & PCs) to faciliate review cycles with a large number of internal clients within the company. Our workflow dictates that multiple people 'set status' (Accepted, Rejected, etc.). For example, the Designer would approve/reject a comment related to a photo, and the Editor would approve/reject a comment on the headline.
    To streamline the process of making and proofing the accepted changes, it would be great to be able to sort comments by 'Accepted' status, regardless of who applied it. As far as I can tell, you can only sort by 'Status by Person'. And if I use 'Show by', it looks like it only will show comments that I personally have accepted.

    Hi,
    Try transaction BERP.
    It will give  you the following info.
    1. See the business events available and the pupose they are meant fot
    2. Documentation for that particular event (here you can know where exactly it is called)
    3. Interface parmeters required in the custom FM
    4. A sample function module with the export import parameters.
    There are few more transaction which are usefull in Bte
    FIBF --> Maintenance transaction BTE
    BERE --> Business Event Repository
    BERP --> Business Processes
    BF31 --> Application modules per Event
    BF32 --> Partner Modules per Event
    BF34 --> Customer Modules per Event
    BF41 --> Application Modules per Process
    BF42 --> Partner Modules per Process
    BF44 --> Customer Modules per Process
    and Bte is attach to a process it works in similar way like workflow do, you can't exactly know the tcode by looking into the event but you can know it with the process for eg.
    This event is called while invoice printing.
    00705000     Invoice print: Exclude contracts
    and we can get more info by checking its description.
    Hope this will help,
    With best regards,

  • Sorting a date represented in three integers.

    Hey,
    I have an other question. I want to sort a collection on the data. In my collection I have three integers representing the date (int matchDay, int matchMonth, int matchYear)
    The constructor for the Collection<Comment> is:
    public Comment(int matchID, int matchDay, int matchMonth, int matchYear, String namePlayer, String comments) I want the comments which happened at the beginning at the bottom and the comments which just happened at the top. So, I want to sort in a decending order.
    I tried to sort with severly options. The most likely which I thought was to succed, is this code:
    // To sort Comments selection
    public Collection<Comment> sortCommentCollection(Collection<Comment> comments) {
        Collection<Comment> backup = new ArrayList<Comment>();
        String DATE_FORMAT = "yyyy-MM-dd";
        java.text.SimpleDateFormat sdf = new java.text.SimpleDateFormat(DATE_FORMAT);
        Calendar c1 = Calendar.getInstance();
        Calendar c2 = Calendar.getInstance();
        int year = 1000, month = 00, day = 00, x = 0;
        boolean attached = false;
        for(Comment c : comments) {
            // remember months are zero-based : 0 jan 1 feb ...
            c1.set(year, month, day);
            c2.set(c.getMatchYear(), c.getMatchMonth() , c.getMatchDay());
            if (c1.before(c2) && !attached) {
                // Remove 'older' comment before adding this comment
                backup.remove(x - 1);
                Comment temporary = new Comment(c.getMatchID(), c.getMatchDay(), c.c.getMatchMonth(), c .c.getMatchYear(), c.getNamePlayer(), c.getComments());
                backup.add(temporary);
                attached = true;
            if (c1.after(c2) && !atteched) {
                Comment temporary = new Comment(c.getMatchID(), c.getMatchDay(), c.c.getMatchMonth(), c .c.getMatchYear(), c.getNamePlayer(), c.getComments());
                backup.add(temporary);
                attached = true;
            if (c1.equals(c2)) {
                // To prevent double entries
                backup.remove(x - 1);
            year = c.getMatchYear();
            month = c.getMatchMonth();
            day = c.getMatchDay();
            attached = false;
            x++;
            return backup;
    }But this did not work either. Does anyboedy have a suggestion? You would help me a lot! Thanks in advance.

    How can I get a list of all my annotations to send to someone else, listed by PAGE #, not order??

    The comments list is sorted by page by default. If it's not for some reason, click the "Sort comments" button and select that option. It looks like this:

  • Acrobat 9 installation suddenly stopped working

    I use Acrobat 9 every day. (In case you wonder why, I need Sort Comments by Color, and Acrobat 9 was the last version that contained that feature.) It worked great until today, when I got the following error message: "Adobe Acrobat could not install correctly. Adobe Acrobat was unable to install a necessary component and must quit."
    What can I do to repair the installation?

    I tried to uninstall, but I got the following message when trying to uninstall: "Invalid Application. The application selected was not a valid Acrobat application for this uninstaller. Please rerun the uninstaller."

  • Comparing documents and false positives

    Hello,
    I often have to send a proof of a book to a printer. The proof is a PDF. When they return a soft proof--another PDF that they will use to print--I need to quickly compare the two to make sure that there have been no changes in the text.
    The Compare Documents feature certainly beats a side-by-side eyeball scan. But I often get a lot of false positives, words are flagged that actually have not changed.
    It appears that my PDF, exported from InDesign has some hidden discretionary hyphens. In ID these are used to make sure a word breaks at the end of the line at the correct syllable. They are invisible when printed. In a PDF these are not necessary because the text ain't gonna reflow, right?
    But when I compare the soft proof to the original PDF, words with discretionary hyphens are flagged. Somehow the printer has stripped the discretionary hyphens. That's fine but what must I do to get rid of them in my PDF?
    Below is an example. The PDF shown is the one from the printer. The comment box shows the difference from the original PDF, though there is in fact no difference on the page.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Tom

    I like Acrobat's text comparisons, which have saved me from bad goofs several times -- mostly stray key-strokes, but once I caught an InDesign footnote numbering snafu.  However, the false positives have always been annoying even without flagging every single discretionary hyphen.
    I imagine you have tried the image method for comparisons, a modern version of the old trick of putting printouts of the old and new versions of a page on a light table to find differences.
    I don't recall seeing comments of the type "undefined", but does re-sorting comments by type at least isolate these so you can step through the rest?  I'm no scripter, but can a javascript mark or eliminate comments containing hyphens?
    More drastic, would it be worth trying to eliminate the discretionary hyphens?  For instance, you could apply Harb's "Freeze Composition" in InDesign, and then search-and-replace all discretionary hyphens.  (Read the comments on the In-Tools site, as well as those in the InDesignSecrets blog it links to because you might want to modify the way it handles hyphens.)
    Good luck!
    David

  • Recordset in reverse Database order

    Hey,
    I'm using Dreamweaver to create a recordset of user comments.
    I would like to sort the comments by date they were posted. Two

    2) How can I sort comments by date - the recordset in

  • Editable fields in Browsers

    Hi all,
    My little attempt at a spry status chart is moving along and now i'd like to take it to the next level and make the "Status" updateable in the Web Browser.
    I've been searching and searching and it just doesn't seem to be clicking on the best way to make it work. To be clear i'd like to have a pop-up box or just be able to type right into the field in the browser.
    Such as change the status from "M" aka missing to "S" Sent by typing a "S" in the browser and it update the original data.
    Here is what I have so far, with the data & the Spry table in one file to make it easy to test. Also i've removed some sorting areas & other graphics to make it simpler to see whats going on. This runs on an internal server only seen by employees and does not have outside access to these pages.
    Thanks!

    I was thinking of changing the setup from one file to two to help with management of data files:
    File 1) HTML Data file ("mydata" or a date "012612") linked to
    File 2) SPRY Dynamic Table html file.
    I guess i could swap the data file to XML if its easier that way.
    The server im using is an OSX Server using the full server software, not just file sharing it kinda thing. Its using an older version though. 10.5 OSX.
    I'd prefer if i was all self contained without needing server side scripting.
    Any suggested commands or directions to go in for this?
    Understanding the structure/functions I need to alter the table info in the browser and save it back to the original is the part that im stuck on.
    Thanks!
